Having "2017" in the name of the DLC that is scheduled for 2019 is somewhat ridiculous, I would at least change the name. The story is inspired by what happened in 2017 and the wrestlers are modeled off of that time period.

This is just being half drunk, but I'm just beyond irritated being teased with promoter. I've got a lot I'd want to say but I know a lot of people would just attack me as Spike fans. We all know they've not handled this well. I understand they've had issues on their end, their communication to us has been horrible. The only mode I've cared about is promoter and I've been teased long enough on it. The lack of actual concrete date just completely pisses me off when they've said how close to completion the mode already was. That's all, now back to my whiskey.

If all the new venues are just rehashes of the current ones with just more lasers and effects I'm going to be pissed. Just bring back the old ones from past games so we have that variety in styles.

Still. from a marketing standpoint it just feels wrong to keep 2017 in the title.

Spike has done a fantastic job of draining all my give-a-damn about Fire Pro.

Even if you exclude the NJPW DLC that's already been released, let alone the future DLC, World is still the best Fire Pro ever made and it's not even close. Yea waiting sucks but this is Fire Pro, the greatest wrestling game known to man so I'd happily wait another 5 years just for one DLC pack, let alone several.

People have made this assertion but honestly I think people are confusing game engine for the game itself. Fire pro g way back on psx had way more features and phenomenal gameplay. World has the best version of the engine and easily the most potential but its still crazy how much basic stuff its missing compared to even the older titles. Dont get me wrong I adore world and I will buy anything that comes out for it with a quickness. However, a big part of that is because I adore fire pro and well the game is lacking the shit that was included in previous games such as fire promoter(was in ffpw) and fighting road which were all featured in G plus way more. This version of the engine is clearly the most up to date but lets not act like the overall package is up to par with past iterations in the series. i will say that despite my many frustrations with the game and spike, i am confident in a years time after more patches and all the dlc is released this will indeed be the best game in the series. throw on top of that mod possibilities for decades for what could very well be the last game in the series will make sure its the best version. as of now though its the one with the most potential.

Nah. People are comparing it to Returns and, in that case, World is significantly better. There's no argument. World's also the first in the series set to have Fighting Road and Fire Promoter in the same title. Fire Pro G has never had the ISO translated (although a partial translation guide exists) and Final Fire Pro has its own issues from being restricted by the GBA hardware. There's certain things from older games that would be amazing in World. The long hair from Queens Special, the electrified cage from Fire Pro D, the venues from Returns, some of the moves/Falls Count Anywhere from Final Fire Pro. But World is the most comprehensive Fire Pro release so far. (That doesn't mean it's perfect but some times I think people are comparing it to what they imagine the perfect Fire Pro game to be instead of the actual games that have been released previously)

I've just accepted that this game remains a open beta, despite having left the EA some time ago, they're clearly planning to bring back at least half of the features that were in the past games and are missing on this one, it will just take the whole season for them to pull it off.

Definitely. The old AJPW setup from Fire Pro G when wrestlers alternated entering from left and right, the basketball court/gymnasium from D and the outdoor garbage wrestling arena from Z would all be welcome additions.

I think by the time it's all done World will be the best Fire Pro title
A. Way easier to trade edits B. As far as I'm aware the first FP game with real life characters from a major wrestling promotion. C: Way more priority attack slots= way more customization in making edits behave how you want them to. D: Enhanced play mechanics. E: I know there were official US releases on GB and Fire Pro R, but most of the games required importing a copy of the game and modding your system.

Sure, there's glaring issues with the game as it is, but mechanically speaking, it's the best game we've had. I'm not even talking about the lack of certain modes either. There's so much new stuff included in this game that it'd be a shame for people to pass on it if they're fans of the series. Newcomers to the series can be upset if they want, it won't ever change my opinion of the series. It's still my favorite wrestling game series for far too many reasons. For me, World's good/new features far outweigh it's issues. Bugs happen, I'm aware. It's okay though, I had a hand in helping solve bugs. That's why I bought the game in Early Access: So I could help the developers make the game the best that it could be for the series.
The road map is rocky, per say, but I think in the long run, we'll be fine. Or maybe not - People will bitch and complain regardless of the outcome.

I'm happy they're planning more venues. :) Don't get me wrong, everything else is also good. But I'm really looking forward to some new places to sim matches from. I miss that tiny arena with the ramp leading to the ring.
