First round results at a sold out Olympic Auditorium.
Ray 'The Crippler' Stevens defeated 'The Natural One' Mike Modest at 15:56 with a double arm suplex hold. Match received a 84% rating.
'The Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer defeated Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka at 12:21 with a Belly-To-Belly Suplex. This was almost a battle of the top rope splashes as both guys hit their share. But Buzz comes up with the victory in an 82% match rating.
'High Chief' Peter Maivia defeated Raven at 18:31 with a Muscle Bomb Press. The match received a 86% rating. Raven didn't get much offense in.
'Rowdy' Roddy Piper defeated Samoa Joe at 15:14 with a Sleeper Hold. Interesting story here as Joe had all of the big moves, but Piper stuck to slams and elbow drops repeatedly before getting Joe in the sleeper. The match rating was 83%.
Stan Stasiak defeated 'Maniac' Matt Borne with a Bear Hug at 14:00. Match received a 76% rating.
Billy Jack Haynes defeated 'Moondog' Mayne at 18:46 with a piledriver. Haynes juiced towards the end, but it wasn't enough to stop him. Really great brawl. But, whaddya expect when Mayne is the 'normal' one. Match received a 96% rating.

First round of the FPWA - Shire Tag Tourney at a sold out Cow Palace.
Mike Modest/Donovan Morgan defeated Hector/Mando Guerrero when Modest hit the Death Valley Driver on Mando at 24:21. Match received an 88% rating.
Billy Jack Haynes/Matt Borne defeated Buddy Rose/Rip Oliver after Borne pinned Oliver with a small package at 27:34. Match received a 96% rating.
The American Wolves defeated Hector & Gory Guerrero, Sr. at 15:12 when Hector submitted to an ankle lock from Edwards. The match received a 78% rating.
Frankie Kazarian/Samoa Joe defeated Lonnie Mayne/Spike Dudley at 41:21 when Kazarian hit the DOA on Mayne. Kazarian, Joe and Spike all juiced. I think you'd have a better chance catching polio than finding a tag match where Mayne was the only wrestler to NOT juice. I thought Mayne had Kazarian at about the 39 minute mark as he had Kazarian in the mount, but Kaz would not submit. Pretty good match. 94% rating.
This leaves us with the semifinals of:
Mike Modest/Donovan Morgan vs. Billy Jack Haynes/Matt Borne
The American Wolves vs. Samoa Joe/Frankie Kazarian

FINALS
Team Kaos defeated Samoa Joe/Frankie Kazarian at 13:22 when Modest hit the Reality Check on Joe. Joe and Kazarian complained about a fast count from referee Vinnie Massaro, a former trainee of Modest's at All Pro Wrestling.
