A message from Morgan "Midas" Matthews Morgan "Midas" Matthews: The big reveal has been made. Yes, the Immovable Object, Colossus Rhodes has arrived in Warrior Pro. And Colossus Rhodes, at his imposing seven foot height, at his unavoidable four hundred plus pounds, with his destructive power and killer instinct, is at the disposal of a man who I believe will be able to maximized use of. Doc Wyatt, Colossus Rhodes is yours to command. He is your tool to use in Warrior Pro. I have heard good things about you. Do not let me down, as I have given you the privilege of commanding my most prized asset. It is my hope that Colossus will allow you to rise to new heights. And it is my hope that you use him to utterly obliterate the underwhelming talent that makes up the majority of this roster here. Make Colossus look like the monster we all know he is. And if you do, this could be the beginning of an excellent deal.
The Roland Chang Trio Roland Chang Senior: We have proven ourselves against the Massholes of Massachusetts. Now you two have an imposing challenge. Roy Carter and the man known as Brick. But we fear no foes, do we?
Roland Chang Junior: Hell no, we don't! We don't fear Roy Carter! He was only here to fight that Baron kid, wasn't he? He came into this tournament to settle a grudge, but we came into this to win! The Roland Chang Trio arrived here for one thing, and one thing only! Well, maybe two things! First, we came here to win! We want to win! We want to crush our foes! We want to win all the matches in this tournament! And then, second, we want to make everybody know that we don't have any "rivals" to have grudges with! If you're in our way, it doesn't matter who you are! We have a grudge with everyone! We don't take any of this personally! We hate you all equally! Ain't that right, son?
Roland Chang III: Um...what about Brick?
Junior: What about him, boy?
III: His name's....Brick?
Junior: Yeah! And we hate him too! Carter, Brick, you two are a pair of bums! Not because you're bad in the ring, not because of wherever the hell you're from, not because you got a squrrily personality! But we think you're a pair of bums because you're facing the Roland Chang Trio! And we're bum crushers!
III: Um, if we only fight bums, doesn't that make us not so great?
Junior: Shuddup, kid! We're the Roland Chang Trio, and we want to send you two bums packing! We want you living on the street! We want you to have to get your wrestling gear from the Salvation Army! We want you two....
Senior: Sheesh, Junior, I think we got the damn point. So to conclude, Roy Carter, Brick, you've come this far. You've shown yourselves to be a right tough team. But now you're up against the Roland Chang Trio. And so far, I believe my boys here are the full on favorites to come away victorious. Prepare yourselves, because you'll need every advantage you can find!

Just outside of Warrior Pro’s “Training Grounds” a reporter stopped Roy Carter and Brick as they seemed headed in for a workout… Reporter: Do you guys have any thoughts on Doc’s announcement regarding who will represent him in his match for a shot at the title on Friday?
Roy: What? No. That’s his business. Our business is beating the shit out of those random morons from Texas that all have the same name. Doc’s gonna do what he’s gonna do.
Reporter: You don’t think its odd that he didn’t choose one of you to represent him?
Roy: I’m not sure I’m following what you’re saying. It sounds like you’re saying Doc outsourced from the team because he doesn’t trust us. That feels like something I should be taking as an insult. Brick, you feelin insulted?
Brick: Feelin agitated.
Roy: You hear that? The big man is agitated. That’s a hair from angry. Now if-
Just then Virgil Wyatt walks through the door and greets the group…
Virgil: Roy! Brick! Juss the men I been lookin for. We have plans to discuss. Who is this? The media?
Roy: Implying you don’t trust us to beat Austin Baron…
Virgil: Nonsense. Nonsense. You both are vital to the cause I assure you. In fact, those Chang boys been winnin so much on account of that older gentleman walking around ringside. I do believe I will personally escort you both to the ring on Friday to ensure that the corruption in this here company ends.
Reporter: Can I ask what your strategy will be to defeat the Roland Chang Trio?
Brick walks up to the reporter, lifts him up off the ground, turns around and sets him down before proceeding to walk inside the building.
Roy: I believe when you have a seven foot four hundred pound man on your team, “strategy” is an optional term.
Roy follows Virgil and Brick into the building

Standing outside the front doors of Arena de Antiguo, located on the outskirts of Mexico City, Lucha La Barba, in full wrestling gear, stands with his interpreter Marco presiding over a small group of reporters… Marco: Welcome everyone! Senor La Barba would like to make an official statement regarding Dungeon Dominguez and the challenge he issued at Warrior Grounds last week.
(Lucha La Barba whispers something in Marco’s ear)
Marco: Senor La Barba accepts the large man’s challenge, and would be honored to do battle in this great arena, and on the grand stage of Lucha POWER! This is a dream in the making for Lucha La Barba!
Reporter: Does Senor La Barba not speak Spanish?
La Barba: (Marco quietly shakes his head) Si! Yo hablas espanol muy good!
Reporter: Uh.. Senor- you realize you are in Mexcio? We can all speak espanol. You don’t need a translator.
La Barba: (looking nervous) Oh.. Si! Mi gusta!
Reporter: <in Spanish> We have heard about your matches in Warrior Pro and are very impressed. Do you think you are up for the challenge of Dungeon Dominguez? What will be your strategy?
La Barba: (looking at Marco nervously) Uhhh…er… Mi amo… uhhh…. Yo soy….. er….Mi gusta Lucha! Mi gusta LUUUUUUUCHAAAA!
(Lucha La Barba raises his hands, gives a fist pump then turns and walks away, wondering towards the parking lot. The reporters stand in silence watching for a minute before turning back to Marco)
Reporter: <in Spanish> He realizes the match is still over a month away right?
Marco: Si, he’s only here cause my wife and I are on vacation and he agreed to be our driver. Gracias amigos, I must go now, Senor La Barba does not have the keys to get into the car.
The small crowd disperses…

We are a little over 24 hours before the biggest show in the young history of Warrior Pro Wrestling. Not one but two championship belts will be on the line- as the inaugural tag team tournament concludes, and an epic showdown for the heavyweight championship takes place. In addition, a heated cross promotional rivalry will take place, as well as the fate of Doc Wyatt will be decided. Tune in tomorrow to witness the event LIVE on TWITCH at 4pm PT.
As always, afterwards come back here to see all the matches, recaps, and post-match interviews. Match Previews: Tag Team Tourney Semifinal: Los Ninos Perdidos vs Gears of WarOur first tag team semifinal pits those nasty rudos from Blackrose wrestling against the resident powerhouses of Warrior Pro. This could end up working as a contrast in styles, one that favored GoW in their first round matchup but may prove more difficult this time around. Los Ninos Perdidos are undefeated so far in Warrior Pro, can the Masters of Pain end the streak and move to the finals? Or will we see an outsider challenge for the belts? Tag Team Tourney Semifinal: Roland Chang Trio vs Roy Carter & BrickThe Roland Chang Trio have certainly made an early impression on the Warrior Pro fans with their hard hitting ring style and colorful promos. But one thing is certain, Roy Carter and Brick are not the Massholes. This newly formed team showcased a dominate performance against an early favorite in the Baron Family, and they look to continue that by knocking off another pair of Texans. Something to pay attention to- Virgil Wyatt who will be acting as manager for the group in hopes of offsetting any antics displayed by the eldest Chang in the match… Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender: Austin Baron (w Tank McDaniel) vs Colossus Rhodes (w Doc Wyatt)Another chapter in what seems to be the never ending back and for the between Doc Wyatt and owner Tank McDaniel. Austin Baron is a legend in the sport. But he’s also at least 15 years past his prime, and has a daunting task ahead of him. Colossus Rhodes is out to destroy opponents, which is exactly what the Wyatt family is hiring him for. The stakes are high in this one, the winner gets the next title shot, and on top of that a loss by Rhodes would result in a 3 month suspension for Doc Wyatt. “Lanky” Lefty McDaniel vs Pantero Negro Jr.What started out as a friendly tag match signifying two promotions intending to work with each other has turned into a bitter rivalry of words. This will be Lefty’s first singles match since his title match with Doc Wyatt back in September. For Pantero, this will be an excellent showcase of what the young luchador can do ahead of his newly announced title match in March. There is nothing on the line here except pride, but expect this one to go all out in an effort to show which promotion is sporting the better stars. Tag Team Tourney FinalsThe winners of the semifinals will face off to crown the first ever Warrior Pro Tag Team Champion! Warrior Pro Heavyweight Championship: Rampage Hunter vs John LoganJohn Logan has been waiting half a year to get another crack at the belt, and he seems ready to pounce on the opportunity. All that stands in his way is a mean, angry, 300 pound monster who is out to prove that this company runs through him. Both men have been extremely impressive over the past few months, and this could end up being an all-time great match- but don’t sleep on Rampage getting the pin on Logan at Warrior Grounds last week. That type of psychological edge could tip the scales in what should be a fairly even matchup. Promos: “Lanky” Lefty McDanielPantero Negro Jr.

The first big show of the new year lived up to the hype and then some, with a Tag Team Champion crowned, a grudge settled (for now) and Heavyweight Title fight that should be the early favorite for MOTY. Thanks to everyone that came out, it was a ton of fun. Miss the show? You can check it out below. Full show summary with all the matches, recaps, and post show promos will be up sometime over the weekend.
One important note from the show that happened right before the main event... As "Lanky" Lefty was being attended to by doctors after his match, out of no where Yoshi Tayaki came up behind him and laid into him with a savage beating. It took security and several wrestlers prying Yoshi off Lefty's lifeless body. At this time we have no update on Lefty's condition but hope to give a more detailed status with the full review of the show....

New Dawn, the first big event of 2019 for Warrior Pro Wrestling, was a massive success. The card proved to be strong from top to bottom, and for the first time- two championships were put on the line, as well as a match to determine the next contender for the Heavyweight crown. Per usual, scroll down for all the matches, recaps, and post-match promos… Preshow: Markus “Young Gun” Winter vs Maverick ReedRecap: The impressive rookie (formerly Luke Casey) put up a hellova fight against one half of the Reed Brothers, and even had his more veteran opponent reeling in the end. But the Young Gun is still learning how to put matches away, and a costly mistake left him open to a thunderous knee from Maverick Reed that put the opener away.
Winner: Maverick Reed Match Rating: *** Tag Team Tourney Semifinal: Los Ninos Perdidos vs Gears of WarRecap: The main show kickoff match was a good one, with the Blackrose rudo’s trying to continue their winning streak and advance to the finals. Standing in their way though, were the powerhouses Gears of War. The match proved to be the contrast in styles that was expected, with Los Ninos trying to use their speed advantage to gas out their larger slower opponents. But in the end the advantage of Riot as a thundering hammer proved too much to overcome, as he nailed the Dark Alley bomb right on a chair for the pin fall.
Winner: Gears of War Match Rating: *** Tag Team Tourney Semifinal: Roland Chang Trio vs Roy Carter & Brick (The Jackson Hole Gang)Recap: Roy and Brick came out sporting a new name and a new manager, as Virgil Wyatt attempted to zero out the advantage of the eldest Roland Chang. Simply put, this was a bar room brawl. A good ol fashion brawl that saw everyone take a heap of damage and no one holding back. Eventually, RC3 seemed content to isolate the big man Brick and wear him out. While they did manage to tire the giant, Brick also managed to rain down damage in the process. The highlight of the match may have been watching the youngest Chang and Brick slug it out in the middle of the ring, exchanging big boy moves that seemed to have the ring on the brink of breaking. Eventually, Brick would make it back to his corner for a hot tag to Roy Carter, who caught the youngest Chang with a danger kick for a very close near fall. After more back and forth the Jackson Hole Gang would hit a double team powerbomb and Carter would sink a deeeeeep armbar…. But Chang Sr would distract the ref long enough for Junior to make the save. All four men in the ring throwing haymakers now, but it would be Roy Carter who would catch the youngest Chang, and a follow up Danger Kick would snag the pin fall. A hellova match here…
Winner: Jackson Hole Gang Match Rating: **** Austin Baron (w Tank McDaniel) vs Colossus Rhodes (w Doc Wyatt)Recap: You could feel the tension in the air as this one got started, the crowd and seemingly everyone in the building worried that Colossus Rhodes was going to put Austin Baron into the hospital, or maybe worse. And the first five minutes of the match confirmed those fears. Rhodes jumped all over Baron from the beginning, rag dolling him around the ring and flooring him with vicious strikes. But the tough as nails veteran wouldn’t give up, and after 3 failed attempts at suplexing the massive man, a fourth attempt actually proved successful. The move seemed to shake Colossus, and Austin found a second wind, running wild on the big man. The match stayed relatively even the rest of the way, and with each passing minute, the big man looked a little more tired. Eventually Austin would hit consecutive back drops, then a spinebuster, then pick him up for a dramatic stunner….. for the closest near fall you’ve ever seen. It seemed that Austin put everything into that last sequence, because afterwards Rhodes would recover, slam Baron to the mat and put his entire 400 plus pound weight on his chest for the pin fall….
Winner: Colossus Rhodes Match Rating: ****
After the match, Doc would get into the ring and whisper something into Rhodes ear, which was then followed up by Rhodes picking up Austin and giving him a massive chokeslam. Tanks would run into the ring and go nose to nose with Colossus before Doc, laughing, called for Rhodes to exit the ring as Tank checked on his unconscious friend. “Lanky” Lefty McDaniel vs Pantero Negro Jr. (Lucha POWER)Recap: If this is what we’re getting from an entire Lucha POWER show, we are in for a treat. This match was fast paced and back and forth for the entire time, with neither man able to secure a clear advantage. At around the ten minute mark, Lanky seemed to turn the tides, nailing a rainmaker closeline followed by an axe bomber lariat for a close nearfall. Lefty appeared to have all the momentum, hitting lariats and spinebusters- pouring on the offense until Pantero would counter into a desperation Destiiiiiiiino… for a clooose near fall. Lefty fighting back with repeated closelines, but Pantero countered with a toss to the outside and then a huuuuuge dive. Back inside Pantero nails a frankenstiener, then goes for a rebound dropkick and misses. More back and forth, with Pantero getting the better of Lefty, reigning foot stomps that bust him wide open. Pantero looks to go for another Destiiiiino to put it away but Lefty counters into a rainmaker, followed by a vicious axe bomber for the pin.
Winner: “Lanky” Lefty McDaniel Match Rating: ****
After the match as Lefty is being attended to by medical personnel, Yoshi Tayaki brutally attacked the already injured wrestler. As he was being pried off, he could be heard screaming “DO YOU NOTICE ME NOW??? DO YOU????” Lefty was taken to a nearby hospital for examination… Tag Team Tourney Finals: Jackson Hole Gang vs Gears of WarRecap: A massive, hard hitting affair from the last two groups standing. Virgil Wyatt stayed in the back for this one, with news that Brick and Carter wanted this win on their own. However both men seemed a bit more worse for wear from their first bout in the opening stages of this match, and GoW pounced on the opportunity, establishing the early advantage. But the advantage proved to be short lived, and eventually we were blessed with another big man clash, as Brick and Riot squared off in the middle of the ring and proceeded to try and punch holes into one another. Inevitably the match devolved into chaos with all four men brawling to the outside, before getting back into the ring and Riot suffering a brutal double powerbomb from the Jackson Hole Gang. Riot never looked the same again, and though he battled back and was able to make the tag, a thunderous chokeslam from Brick to Bobby Clash right near the GoW corner still proved too far away as Brick made the cover as Riot couldn’t get through the ropes for the save.
Winner: Jackson Hole Gang Match Rating: *** Warrior Pro Heavyweight Championship: Rampage Hunter vs John LoganRecap: An early favorite for MotY, and easily the best match of the young promotion’s existence. Simply put, this was a war with both men leaving everything in the ring. Rampage looked strong early in the match, using his size advantage to corner Logan and reign those big fists down. But the savy veteran kept managing to counter his way out to gain a quick advantage. And so that’s how the match would swing, big power moves from Rampage- quick counters opening small windows of opportunity for the challenger. The strategy played against Logan when Rampage turned a backbreaker into a running closeline, into a spear….for a near fall. Rampage wasn’t done, picking up Logan for a triple German into the ropes. Logan, sensing the match getting away from him, was able to hit a piledriver right in the middle of the ring, but when he tried to follow that up with his patent falling lariat the ref got in the way, sending them both to the mat. Rampage would use the opportunity to retake control of the match, hitting German after German. Logan though would counter out of a third attempt and go up top to hit the big man senton, but again miss an opportunity for the follow up lariat, as Rampage would side step it. Logan would hit the piledriver again, and again Rampage would side step the lariat. Back and forth now, before Logan would, again, hit the big man senton and FINALLY hit the falling lariat… for a near fall. Rampage, sensing the match getting away from him, turns up the offense and hits another triple German for a near fall of his own. Then after a back and forth puts Logan in the torturerack for what seems like an eternity before Logan is able to sneak out. Neither man holding back now, and action spills outside the ring, with Logan nailing a LOGANS RUN on the outside. Both men look exhausted, but both get back into the ring to avoid the count out. Back inside, suplex from rampage, and he goes up top and hits A SHOOTING STAR PRESS- a move we’ve never seen from him- for a cloooooose near fall. Logan looks hurt after that one, hes fighting back but Rampage has control and goes up and HITS ANOTHER SHOOTING STAR for a near fall. Logan, desperately, hits a piledriver into another falling lariat but Rampage fires back up and hits ANOTHER triple German- AGAIN Logan kicks out. Rampage doesn’t take any chances, and this time picks Logan up and immediately hits the LIGHTS OUT powerbomb for the dramatic win.
Winner: Rampage Hunter Match Rating: *****
After the match both men, on their knees and exhausted, exchange words. Finally, Rampage gets up and offers a hand of help to Logan, who accepts. Both men shake hands, and Logan raises Hunter’s hand as the crowd cheers both. On the ramp, the entire Jackson Hole Gang comes out led by Doc Wyatt. Wyatt smiles and claps with the crowd before pointing at the title and then to his chest as the show goes off the air… After the event, the press got words from both men from the main event…Rampage Hunter“Man that was the match of my life. I left it all out there. John Logan is a beast. But Rampage is better. This is a lesson to everyone in the back. This belt here? This belongs on one waist. You all can have a turn with it when Rampage retires. Gonna be a long time before that happens. Maybe Tanks can make another title for you all. Maybe he can give that one to Doc. Cause Doc, if you thought the beating I gave you last time was unfair- shit man, you in big fucking trouble now.” John Logan“Hats off to Rampage. I uhh… I don’t know. I put it all out there, stings to still come up short. I don’t really know where to go from here. I don’t know. I thought I had it a few times, guess it wasn’t my night. I don’t know…” Warrior Pro made public a few injuries from the night:Austin suffered a mild concussion from the post-match antics, and is expected to miss at least a month of action. Lefty McDaniel fortunately only suffered bruised ribs and a mild concussion. He is also expected out for at least a month.

At the risk of sounding too much like an overly enthusiastic shill(who, me?), this was easily the best Warrior Pro show I've seen to date, and top to bottom one of the best cards to date in the entire community. No lull in the action or the workrate and the main event was of the finest quality.

No lull in the action or the workrate and the main event was of the finest quality. I'm with you, Senator! For my money, that was the best card overall that I've ever seen anyone run on Fire Pro. Every match was great, I was just as riveted as I would've been watching a really good real-life wrestling event. And I thought the stream was very well-attended; I had a great time chatting with everyone and it really added to the vibe of the event to have everyone there, reacting to the big moments and just generally being into what was going on. Definitely the first time I ever felt compelled to participate in a chat room chant. DUB PEE DUB! DUB PEE DUB!

If being an overenthusiastic shill is a crime, call me the Godfather. And I don't even get paid! Wait.. I guess call me a rube, then call me a cab to take me to jail for being a dumb criminal. Convoluted metaphors aside (if that's what that was), helluva show as we all know. I'm definitely gonna rewatch that epic main event. Feeling bad for Logan. He's gotta get his confidence back! This could lead to a bad spiral if he doesn't get his shit together and quick, pick himself up dust himself off and get back on the hunt. The RAMPAGE HUNT...er
And Rampage has no shortage of confidence, never has, and now he feels and certainly seems unstoppable. Gonna be a helluva rematch with Doc for the title, boy howdy, can't wait!

Aw thanks guys :). It should be noted that the card featured some community edits and had a "hot crowd" on stream, so I can't take all the credit. Here's hoping Warrior Pro hasn't peaked early in 2019 haha...

No hot crowd without hot action. Your humility is wasted on an objectively good card! (But appreciated nonetheless)

Welcome to the Wrestling Monitor Rumor Mill, your one stop shop for all the news and rumblings in the world of Pro Wrestling! Here are the hot topics as we dive into the month of February… There is still no word on the whereabouts of Vic Baron. There were those that had assumed he’d taken off for Europe, given his recent contract signing with SHTCWA and the European Wresting Union. But the company has confirmed that he has not reported to any of the press events to promote the new company, events that management was under the impression they had a verbal commitment from Vic. We hearing that there is growing concern over Vic’s whereabouts, and despite a seemingly obvious alibi its tough not to suspect Machine Gun Mayhem having a role in all this… Add Midas Mathews of the famed Golden Touch Promotions to the list of people who left New Dawn a happy man. His tool of destruction, Colossus Rhodes, was successful in earning Doc Wyatt a title shot. But there is a lot of noise coming from that camp that dealings with the Wyatt’s and their “Jackson Hole Gang” are not over. Midas gives nothing away for free, and one has to assume that payment for last week’s match will not be small. “Perfection” Jack Gold, who was last seen losing to Lucha La Barba in under 3 minutes, has been seen regularly working out at the Wonderland Dojo in his native Los Angeles- specifically with Stan “The Gold Standard” Classic. This seems significant for a number of reasons. Lucha La Barba is from the same camp. Warrior Pro has its own training center headed by Austin Baron. Jack Gold was kicked out of said camp- then immediately signed by the promotion, something that sources say has never sat right with Baron. It makes sense that Gold, who hasn’t looked good in his last couple matches and hasn’t been booked yet this year, would look for extra training near his home town and by the Dojo that produced the man that beat him so decisively. This is something we will continue to keep an eye on. The recently announced Lucha POWER Supershow will almost definitely be getting a new date. The original date, March 8th, coincides with a festival in the area that will likely mean Arena de Antiguo will be unavailable. The current plan is to just run earlier in the week, but the promotion is expected to make an official announcement soon. Speaking of Lucha POWER, with their first live show as a part of the deal struck with Warrior Pro Wrestling on the horizon, the Wrestling Monitor takes a moment to provide a brief history of the promotion…
