Warrior Grounds #13 Warrior Grounds #13 is in the books, and it was a wild one, setting the stage for COLD WAR, which will air LIVE in two weeks! Scroll down for full matches, recaps and post show interviews… The show opens with World Heavyweight Champion Doc Wyatt making his way to the ring to a chorus of boos from the audience. Doc enters the ring with a microphone but pauses, soaking in the hate. Markus Winter vs “Masshole” Tommy O’MalleyRecap: This one was exactly what you thought it would be, hard hitting action that saw the rookie out to make a name for himself while the “Masshole” didn’t give an inch. In the end, a second straight Winter is Coming from the rising star was enough to put this one away.
Winner: Markus Winter Rating: *** Gears of War vs Danny Angelo & Trey TaylorRecap: A shocker of a match. Angelo and Taylor came out confident and aggressive, sending who many believe to be the top contenders to the tag team belts on their heels and eventually pulling of a shocker of an upset.
Winner: Danny Angelo & Trey Taylor Rating:**** After the match… Danny Angelo calls for a mic as both he and Trey Taylor stare down the locker room from the ring…
Danny drops the mic and both men leave the ring Red Masterson vs Stan ClassicRecap: This match was just as advertised, with both big men wailing back and forth on each other. Stan worked at a disadvantage with the Outlaws at ringside causing issues throughout the match. Eventually Masterson would hit the Unforgiven and pick up the first win of his Warrior Pro career.
Winner: Red Masterson Rating: **** After the match all hell breaks loose… All the Outlaws enter the ring, tossing the ref out of the ring and begin putting the boots to Classic until suddenly… Cogburn Ranch come out to ringside as the crowd goes nuts. The Outlaws stop the beating as they peer out at new arrivals. Everyone pauses.. before Cogburn Ranch make a beeline to the ring… Chaos in the ring as everyone is fighting everyone, but the tide turns, and Cogburn Ranch, including Stan Classic, clear the ring. A stare down ensues as members of both teams point and yell as the show goes off the air…

We are in the home stretch before Warrior Pro’s next big event: COLD WAR, with most of the card being decided last week at Warrior Grounds. This week, we continue down that path with a trio of matches that should put the finishing touches on what is turning out to be a loaded November 21st card- with a main event grudge match that all started with a mistaken ride in a limo… Matches that have been so far booked for COLD WAR: Heavyweight Championship: Lobo Muerte vs “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt (c) Intercontinental Championship: Roy Carter vs Robino (c) Tag Team Championship: McDaniels & Baron (c) vs Angelo & Taylor Outlaws (Red Masteron & Byron Worthy) vs Stan Classic and a partner of his choosingCard Preview for Friday’s Warrior Grounds #14: Markus Winter vs Joey O’SheaWinter was impressive last week, taking down one Masshole- but can he do it two weeks in a row? This week he’ll face the smaller (and typically more sober) of the two in an effort to show Warrior Pro management that he’s ready for prime time. Rumor has it a second win will earn him a spot at Cold War, while a win from O’Shea could get the Massholes future consideration for a tag title shot. ”The Technician” Vic Baron vs “Perfection” Jack GoldWe haven’t seen Vic Baron in singles action since the G2 tournament, but there is a lot of buzz around the veteran that he’s gearing up for another singles run- even as he prepares to defend the tag team titles. He’ll take on Jack Gold, who has been strangely quiet since taking an odd “hands off” approach to his tag team partner over the last couple of weeks. One would have to assume Gold would be Stan's choice for partnering in his COLD WAR match, but Gold has promised through social media to address his actions and at the beginning of the show. One has to wonder if he’ll have larger goals if he can pull off the upset over “The Technician.” MAIN EVENT: Jackson Hole Outlaws vs Robino & ObnoxioThis match has a bit of a bizarre backstory that can be better outlined HERE. Suffice to say, Robino and Roy Carter will have motivation to grab a win ahead of their championship clash next week. While the iWe vets carry the experience edge, one has to wonder if the two will be on the same page given Obnoxio’s penchant for erratic behavior. Either way expect a PPV level match from both teams. CHECK BACK FRIDAY FOR ALL THE MATCHES, PROMOS, AND POST MATCH FALLOUT!

Warrior Grounds #14 The show opens with a video package showing highlights of last week’s Warrior Grounds, specifically Doc Wyatt and Lobo Muerte’s stare down, Danny Angelo & Trey Taylor’s upset over Gears of War, and the brawl between Cogburn Ranch and The Jackson Hole Outlaws. The currently booked matches for COLD WAR are announced before Jack Gold makes his way to the ring to a smattering of boos…Markus Winter vs Joey O’SheaRecap: The lesser known “Masshole” kept the impressive rookie off balance early in the match, but Winter was relentless with his offense and eventually a second Winter is Coming kept his winning streak in tact.
Winner: Markus Winter Rating:**** “The Technician” Vic Baron vs “Perfection” Jack GoldRecap: An entertaining back and forth start as both men looked impressive early. However as the match went on, Vic Baron seemed to gain more and more control, eventually overwhelming Gold with suplexes for the win.
Winner: Vic Baron Rating: **** After the match Vic Baron grabbed a microphone… Jackson Hole Outlaws (Roy Carter & Byron Worthy) vs Robino & ObnoxioRecap: The Main Event proved to add fuel to the IC Title match at Cold War. The Outlaws brought Red Masterson to the ring, and the big Texan proceeded to interject himself into the match as much as possible. So “The Hardcore Clown” countered the only way he could, with lots of weapons. Eventually the IC champ Robino finished Byron Worthy off with a flying senton for the victory, and a certain level of revenge.
Winner: Robino & Obnoxio Rating: **** After the match… Frustrated the Outlaws looked ready to continue the fight after the bell, but their motivation was cut short when Obnoxio pulled out an actual butcher knife and chased off the bewildered opponents. Robino, disturbed by his partners action, halfheartedly celebrated in the ring while Obnoxio laughed hysterically outside of it as the show went off the air…

Sitting in the newly built pressroom inside Pioneer Hall, Tank McDaniel is flanked by Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Champion Doc Wyatt and Red Masterson on one side, and #1 Contender Lobo Muerte and his cousin Pantero Negro Jr on the other.
Before getting started, Roger Craig- Warrior Pro Head of PR walked out to announce the show: COLD WAR: Thursday 11/21 @6pm PST LIVE ON TWITCH.
The card for the show is also announced:
“Perfection” Jack Gold vs Markus Winter Jackson Hole Outlaws (Masterson & Worthy) vs Stan Classic and ?? WPW Tag Team Title Match: McDaniel & Baron (c) vs Angelo & Taylor WPW Intercontinental Title Match: Roy Carter vs Robino (c) MAIN EVENT: WPW World Heavyweight Title Match: Lobo Muerte vs Doc Wyatt (c)Tank: Thank you everyone for joining, and apologies for the mess. As you can see, Pioneer Hall is going through some renovations, as it becomes the official headquarters to Warrior Pro Wrestling. We are attaching offices and actually attaching our Training Center so our facilities will be completely under a single roof by the start of next year. It is because of this that we’re announcing that we will not be having a December show, and our first show will be held in January, at the renovated Pioneer Hall. We will have more on that at a later date, but we promise it will be a show to properly bring in the new year. Questions? Reporter: Tank- any injury updates? Tank: I’ve read the same reports you guys have about John Logan and Brick. Both are progressing, but at this point neither have dates. I know neither has been medically cleared, and I’m expecting an update in December. Reporter: What about Austin Baron? Tank: Austin has been back working at the Wrestling School for a few weeks now. His long-term outlook as a wrestler is a bit fuzzy at the moment. He has not been cleared, and honestly, he’s been discussing retirement. Nothing has been decided, he and I talk regularly and if there is an official announcement it will come from him. For now, he’s concentrating on the school and a new batch of students we should be bringing in by the end of the year. Reporter: How will your new business partnership with Lucha POWER effect Warrior Pro? Tank: We’re still figuring that out. For now, my nephew will be taking an executive position and we will, as you can see, be doing semi-regular talent exchanges. One more announcement before we get to questions for our main event. The increase in ringside antics is not something Warrior Pro wants to encourage. Given that, all wrestlers will be allowed a single manager for their match this week- no more. So Doc will need to choose just one of his friends to bring to ringside. Doc: Whatever. (points to Red) I’d like to see anyone bring someone equal to this guy. Pantero: (Stands up silently, facing Red and smiles)Doc: (Red starts to get up as well) Sit down big guy, sit. Let the dingbat stare. (Pantero slowly gets back into his seat, eyes still fixed on Red)Reporter: Doc, Lobo stands as your only unavenged loss- how will this match differ from your tournament loss in this year’s G2? Doc: How will it differ? I’ll win. That’s a stupid question. Here’s a smarter one- How come Tank had to fly his fat ass all the way down to Mexico to find me an opponent? Answer- because this pit stained roster didn’t have anyone worthy enough to face me. So he found the one guy that got lucky enough in one match. One guy who so far is best known as the guy that lost not once, but twice trying to win that ugly voodoo mask in La Gorilla. Who lost trying to win the Lucha POWERless championship. Who couldn’t win the G2 tournament. He’s nothing if not predictable in his big match performances. My guess is he’ll continue that trend on Thursday. Reporter: Are you afraid you might be looking past this match to a future rematch with Lil Lariato? Doc: No. Roy Carter is going to beat the crap out of Lariat, after he wins the IC title on Thursday. I don’t see any need to fight that midget again. Especially after he loses to Roy. And while we’re on the topic. That red headed step child who is walking around with the Outlaw’s belt? You better be ready for a reckoning. It was pure luck that you avoided Roy Carter in the tournament. And it was a death sentence sending that crazy fucking clown after us. A fucking death sentence. Reporter: Lobo Muerte- what are your thoughts on this upcoming match? Lobo: Si. Lobo will beat Senor Doc. Just like last time. Reporter: … Anything else? Lobo: No. Senor Doc knows he will lose. That is why he talks so much. Doc: Have you met me? Lobo and Pantero jump over the table to confront Doc. Both Outlaws stand as Tank tries to wedge himself in between. Both men exchange words that the microphone doesn’t pick up, before Lobo and Pantero flip off Doc and Red and walk off the stage, effectively ending the press conference

We are a little over 24 hours away from COLD WAR, Warrior Pro Wrestling’s last major show of 2019. And the show promises to be a worthy event to close the chapter on the calendar year. All three Warrior Pro titles will be on the line, and increasing list of Jackson Hole Outlaws will get a chance to seek revenge. Will they get it? Will we see titles change hands? Find out tomorrow! COLD WAR will air LIVE ON TWITCH tomorrow, 11/21 at 6pm PST.Match Previews: “Perfection” Jack Gold vs Markus WinterThe split is official, and “The Gold Standard” is no more. Jack Gold is out to forge his own path via singles competition, and he’ll get a willing participant in Markus Winter- who takes a two-fight win streak into this match. A win for the Viking rookie could be the step he needs to start getting looked at as more then an opening match guy, and a win for Gold could vault him into the increasingly crowded IC title picture. A solid chance this one might steal the show… Jackson Hole Outlaws (Masterson & Worthy) vs Stan Classic and ?? On the long list of Outlaw enemies, you could argue Stan Classic has the biggest bone to pick. His former stablemate Byron Worthy turned on him and cost him his shot at the IC title, and he has been jumped by the group as a whole on multiple occasions. The real question now is, who will partner with the vet in his tag match? While there are sure to be a number of people willing to side against the Outlaws, it seems natural that Classic would look “south” for who to choose. WPW Tag Team Title Match: McDaniel & Baron (c) vs Angelo & TaylorLefty McDaniel and Vic Baron were emotional in their title win at Deadeye, winning gold as a tribute to the late Gorilla McDaniel. Now they face a surprising test in their first title defense. Rookies Danny Angelo and Trey Taylor claim to have a “mentor” guiding them- and a convincing win over the well regarded former champs Gears of War prove that they have the chops to go after the belts. The tag team titles have not been successfully defended since the original champions Roy Carter & Brick held them- does that trend change, or will we see another champion crowned? WPW Intercontinental Title Match: Roy Carter vs Robino (c) iWe and Warrior Pro have a lot of recent history surrounding the iWe Intercontinental belt, seeing the promotions pass that championship back and forth over the summer- so its no surprise that the inaugural Warrior Pro champion would hail from the rival company. Robino sports an impressive resume, including two reigns as the iWe World champion, and his decisive run through the Gorilla Memorial tournament is proof he is a man to be reckoned with. But a relatively innocent incident involving a mistaken limo has ignited a bitter rivalry that could see this match as a late submission for match of the year. Besides what will clearly be an excellent battle in the ring, there will be intrigue outside of it as well. Roy Carter is sure to have Outlaw backup, and the question of whether Robino will continue to be flanked by Obnoxio the Hardcore Clown could be the wild card that tips the scale one way or the other in the match… WPW World Heavyweight Title Match: Lobo Muerte vs Doc Wyatt (c)Doc Wyatt has held the Warrior Pro Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship for a record 257 consecutive days, and has defended that title four times. Both of those are company records. Both eclipsed the previous record that was held by… Doc Wyatt (157 days and 2 defenses). Needless to say- Doc Wyatt has been the most dominant champion in Warrior Pro’s brief history, and one of the most dominant anywhere in the Critical Alliance over the same timeframe. But there is something about his most current challenger, Lobo Muerte, that seems… different. Maybe it’s the distraction of Lil Lariato. Maybe it’s the complacency of holding a title for so long. Or maybe… it’s the fact that the only remaining wrestler who owns an undefeated record against the champ seems completely immune to Doc Wyatt’s barbs. Lobo has displayed a aura of complete confidence around the champ the likes we have yet to see, and the result is a match that could be history in the making. Will the man from Lucha POWER bring down a dynasty and become Warrior Pro’s third World Champ? Or will Doc Wyatt once again overcome the challenger and cement his status as arguably the greatest champion in the world today? We’ll find out tomorrow… LIVE at San Jose Arena @6pm on Twitch…

A word from Lil' Lariato Lil' Lariato: Hey, Doc, tell me this, how does it feel The ride is over, your nightmare's real The title's vacated the space round your waist You've dropped the ball, you've been disgraced But don't think I'm gonna leave you alone This just laid things out and set the tone First goes your belt, next goes your name I'll put you to shame, just remember, you started this game Lobo took your belt, I'll take your name Just know whatever you do, wherever you go You can run, but you can't hide, from Lariato.

Top to bottom COLD WAR might have been the best show of the year for the promotion. The event saw all three titles defended, plus a grudge match between the Outlaws and Stan Classic. Scroll down for full matches, recaps and post show interviews… “Perfection” Jack Gold vs Markus WinterRecap: Markus Winter continues to impress, taking advantage of his opportunities and creating a compelling case that he needs to be in consideration for a bigger push. Gold came out of the gate trying to make his own statement, but Worthy was having none of it. For Winter is Coming’s later, Markus Winter was having his hand raised for the third straight time this month.
Winner: Markus Winter Rating: *** Jackson Hole Outlaws (Masterson & Worthy) vs Stan Classic and ??Recap: The surprise partner for Stan Classic was none other than legend COWBOY JOHNSTON. Taking a break from wedding preparations, Cowboy came to settle a score, and boy did he ever. A brutal hard hitting match hit an abrupt ending when Cowboy hit Red Masterson with an Amarillo Sunset that KO’d Masterson and left him laying on the mat in pain. Medical personal needed to assist the big man to the back, where he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for xrays- fearing a cracked sternum.
Winner: Stan Classic and Cowboy Johnston Rating: *** WPW Tag Team Title Match: McDaniel & Baron (c) vs Angelo & TaylorRecap: The future is bright for Warrior Pro, and this match was a reflection of the young talent that is starting to make a name for themselves. Both Trey Taylor and Danny Angelo came out confident and ready to take the fight to the champs. Even the crowd seemed behind the rookies, booing the champs and clearly siding with the up and comers- but tonight was just not their night. The vets stayed active and eventually caught Danny Angelo in the Crossface Killa for the successful title defense.
Winner: McDaniel & Baron Rating: **** WPW Intercontinental Title Match: Roy Carter vs Robino (c)Recap: A match that lived up to the hype as a potential show stealer. Clearly a contrast in styles, Roy Carter tried to keep the pace slow, using strikes and his ground game to wear out the champ, while Robino continued to press the action. The late stages of the match saw a flurry of trading finishers until a second Bionic Elbow would prove enough for Robino to retain.
Winner: Robino Rating: ***** WPW World Heavyweight Title Match: Lobo Muerte vs Doc Wyatt (c)Recap: The likely last Warrior Pro match of 2019 was a historic one. If Doc Wyatt’s aura intimidated the young Lucha, you’d never know it. Lobo Muerte took the action directly at the champ, and Doc seemed to struggle early to find his footing. But there is a reason Doc has been champion for so long- and he came back with a vengeance, nailing the superman punch and locking in the figure 4 in the middle of the ring… except Lobo didn’t tap, and kept pushing the offense. In the end, that offense finally overwhelmed the champ and a flow through DDT into a moonsault completed the shocking upset.
Winner: AAAAANNNND NEEEEEEW CHAMPION Lobo Muerte Rating: ***** After the event, the press were given a brief update on Red Masterson’s condition:Doc Wyatt denied any interview requests for him or the rest of the Jackson Hole Outlaws, but he did release a statement:

WRESTLING NEWS ROUNDUP Despite the mini hiatus that both Warrior Pro Wrestling and Lucha POWER are currently observing, there is a ton of news floating around both promotions as the year comes to a close. Lets get straight to some of the highlights…
Doc Wyatt has stayed busy in the news, despite his recent loss that saw an end to one of the longest modern championship reigns of any promotion in the past year. He has insisted that he won’t rematch with Lil Lariato, and instead has turned his focus to another Texan- Lance Marshall. Needless to say, words have been exchanged. The two will face off at the big Phoenix Rising year-end show, and all signs point to this being an epic showdown…. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Doc isn’t the only Warrior Pro wrestler keeping busy during the break. Rampage Hunter looked impressive in his debut at PCP, and he’s had a few things to say about it. The showing earned him another match that could see the former Warrior Pro champion vying for PCP’s top belt. There are rumors that we could also see more of PCP’s emerging talent on future Warrior Pro shows next year as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The tale end of 2019 saw a large chunk of Warrior Pro’s roster listed on the injury report. That should start to swing the other way starting in 2020. Sources say “Brick” Casey has been medically cleared and could presumably start taking booking dates as early as next week. Austin Baron was also quietly cleared to resume wrestling, though sources say he has not determined when/if he will return to the ring. Red Masterson and John Logan are also expected to be cleared to return in early 2020, though there is no expected date for either. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tank McDaniel was asked recently about the prospects of a women’s division in Warrior Pro, and his answer was more than coy: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In that same interview, Tank also gave an update on the remodel of Pioneer Hall: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, for the first time ever, the Wrestling Monitor will be doing year end awards. Scroll below for the categories and finalists. While The Monitor will be choosing the eventual winners, readers are more than welcome to submit their choice for each category. Winners will be revealed before the end of the year…
WRESTLER OF THE YEAR “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt260 days. 4 defenses. Runner up in the G2 tournament. Main evented every Warrior Pro show save for one. Became Lone Star Champion in TIPWF. You could make the argument that Doc Wyatt put Warrior Pro on the map and kept it there with a laundry list of memorable feuds both inside and outside the promotion. The winner of this category will likely be the worst kept secret. Rampage HunterFun fact. Rampage fought exclusively for championships in Warrior Pro over the last year. He is the only wrestler not named Doc Wyatt to win and defend the heavyweight title, as well as the first non-iWe wrestler to win the promotions Intercontinental title. His recent run in PCP seems to point to another banner year in 2020. Lobo MuerteEnded the historic reign of Doc Wyatt and had killer matches for the Lucha POWER title (vs Dungeon Dominguez) and La Mascara de Choque (vs Cicatrices). Add to it a fantastic G2 tournament and Lobo’s incredible workrate, and this has made him one of the most popular talents outside Warrior Pro that has wrestled with the promotion. MATCH OF THE YEAR All of these matches were rated 5 stars at the time… Rampage Hunter vs John Logan (New Dawn)
Rampage Hunter vs Dirk van Oranje (G2 Finals)Doc Wyatt vs John Logan (Warriorversary)Doc Wyatt vs Lil Lariato (DEADEYE)FEUD OF THE YEAR John Logan and Doc Wyatt This one was a slow burn since Warrior Pro opened its doors last year. The two stars of the promotion battled it out in a series of matches over the summer that seemed to continually raise the stakes. Logan avenged his G2 loss the year prior, Doc pulled out a miracle win at Warriorversary, and the champ emerged triumphantly in the rubber match inside a steel cage. Vic Baron and Machine Gun MayhemThis was one of the more bizarre stories of the year. Vic was allegedly kidnapped by MGM, then was arrested for assaulting Machine Gun at a fan meet and greet. T he climactic match in a steel cage was one of the more brutal matches of the year in any promotion, and re-established Vic as a major player in the company. Jackson Hole Outlaws and Cogburn RanchPotential to be back on the ballot next year as well, since this rivalry is faaaar from over. It started with Doc Wyatt beating Cowboy Johnston for the Lone Star Championship. That would lead into a blood feud between Lil Lariato that has seen the two battle over both the Lone Star and Warrior Pro championships. In between both stables have brawled all over multiple arena’s- even crashing a wedding. This seems destined to peak with a trilogy match between Doc and Lariato, but time will tell if that match comes to fruition.

For the official “last post of 2019”, I’m breaking kayfabe to announce the year end awards. As it was implied in the nomination post, these awards are more my personal favorites than an objective reward. So because of that, I figured I’d give my reasons for each winner. I want to also take the time to give a huge thank you to everyone that’s followed along, contributed edits, and generally been supportive of both Warrior Pro Wrestling and Lucha POWER. This past year was a ton of fun for me, and hopefully next year will continue that trend (and perhaps leave room for a new promotion or two…) Ok- on to the AWARDS... Match of the YearRampage Hunter vs John Logan (New Dawn PPV)
I struggled the most with this category, since I loved so many matches for so many different reasons. In the end I chose a match that felt like the promotion’s first ever “epic” match. The stream went nuts at all the near falls, it established two of my top guys as legit main eventers, and honestly, I think was the launching point for more people wanting to follow what I was producing. With any luck, these two will get a chance to run it back again in 2020.
Honorable mention: Both Doc/Lariato and Rampage/Dirk II were amazing matches featuring outside talent from iWe and The Office. Its always awesome to watch my edits mesh with others in the community that I admire, and I’m excited to see what’s to come next year… Feud of the YearVic Baron and Machine Gun Mayhem
There’s probably a decent case that the real winner should be “Doc Wyatt vs The World” but Vic/MGM was my favorite feud to write for. I was able to slowly plot it out over multiple months before the big reveal, and the cage match to finish it off went about as well as I could have hoped (though custom weapons being around at the time would have been helpful). I never really liked absurd wrestling storylines irl but writing an off the wall one was fun, and fits the over the top crazy that Machine Gun is supposed to represent.
Honorable mention: Doc/Lariato would have potentially won this spot, but the feud is still active and the best may yet come in 2020… Wrestler of the Year“Gentleman” Doc Wyatt
A formality really. No one came even close to challenging Doc, who has become the signature star of the promotion (and easily my most recognizable edit to date). Besides fitting in easily as a top heel and a super fun promo, he’s been maddening in his complete refusal to drop the belt to John Logan (even powered up versions). I put his stats in the nominations post but it bears repeating: 260 days. 4 defenses. Runner up in the G2 tournament. Main evented every Warrior Pro show save for one. Became Lone Star Champion in TIPWF. And he’s finishing up the year with a huge match against Lance Marshall that should further his legend (and, if he loses, maybe shut him up a bit?)
Honorable mention: Rampage Hunter’s year was really impressive as well. A win in PCP would see him own titles in three separate promotions, and he still stands as the only person on the Warrior Pro roster to beat Doc with the title on the line. Spoiler alert- expect a lot of Rampage in 2020…

Some excellent choices there, and the depth of the field to select from was impressive for all three. Can't wait to see where Warrior Pro goes in 2020!

In an exclusive interview, the Wrestling Monitor’s editor in chief Ray “The Razor” Tolbert sits down with Warrior Pro Wrestling owner Tank McDaniel to discuss the promotions roadmap for 2020, and make a few exciting announcements.
Razor: Welcome Tank, 2019 was a pretty good year for you guys- what does 2020 hold for Warrior Pro? Tank: Thanks Razor. 2019 was a roller coaster for sure, but in the end I was very pleased with the quality of the product. The promotion put on consistently entertaining shows, and our guys started popping up in other promotions all over the country. The hope for this year is to build off that momentum and continue to grow. Honestly, I feel pretty confident we will do just that. Razor: That growth includes moving into a new home right? Tank: Yes sir. Construction on our new home- which includes a wrestling hall, office headquarters, and our Baron Wrestling School training center- completed last week and our first Warrior Grounds of the year will be held in that building. The building is self-funded so we own it outright, but you could end up seeing other promotions running as they tour the area. I’ve named it after my late brother: We also are pleased to announce that we’ve entered into an agreement with Moffett Field Arena to run our monthly PPV events from that building. Moffett Arena is located about 5 miles from the historic military base in Mountain View. The Arena, as you probably know was a popular destination in the 70’s and 80’s before newer, bigger arenas took over. We’re pleased with the renovation effort and are very excited at the opportunity to run in an arena with that much history. Razor: Switching topics, Lucha POWER. Pretty big news that you bought a major share of the company. How involved will you be in the day to day? Tank: I’m old man, and honestly some days I don’t have the energy to run one company, let alone two. Their have been plenty of rumors regarding my nephew Lefty being sent down south to help run things and keep an eye on El Macho. The reality is that’s only half true. Lefty will have a booking role in Lucha POWER and will be running most of the back office stuff for Macho, but El Macho will still have final say- and still owns the majority of the company. But more importantly, this is a chance for my nephew to get some on the job training for what will eventually be a role in Warrior Pro. The plan has always been that he’d step in when my old ass couldn’t manage the day to day, and that time is probably sooner rather than later. Razor: Is this a retirement announcement? Tank: Hell no. But there’s no reason not to prepare for the inevitable future. Razor: I understand there are a few roster announcements? Tank: Yep. First off Jack Gold has signed a multi-year deal with Lucha POWER. I still have high hopes for the kid, but a change of scenery would probably do him some good, and I think he’s going to fit in real well working in Mexico. And second, this has been rumored for a couple months- Warrior Pro will be creating a Women’s division this year. With that we have our first two signings: We’ll continue to announce signings over the next couple months and will start to book showcase matches that will hopefully include outside talent as well. Razor: What about Blackwood Academy? Will Fiona be leaving? Tank: No, there is specific language that Fiona can continue to work in Blackwood. Razor: What does the schedule look like for 2020? Tank: Our first show of the year will be the Grand Opening of Gorilla Hall- Warrior Grounds #15 next Friday January 17th. We will be announcing the card shortly but we’ll have a special main event: McDaniel and Baron vs Los Terribles for the Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship On January 30th from Moffett Base Arena, our first PPV event of the year will be broadcast LIVE on Twitch: The rest of the year is set to be huge as well, here are some of the upcoming hightlights: - Lucha Power Supershow: Lucha Fantastico (Feb) - Golden Gate Tournament and Finals (April/May) - Warriorversary II (June) - Gorilla Memorial Tournament – for the first ever Women’s Championship (August) Razor: That’s a big schedule. Last question- will we see Tank McDaniel in the ring in 2020? Tank: I told you Razor, I’m not retired yet.
