All this help is greatly received thanks 👍
It's a lot more in depth than i first thought, i spend most of my time just creating the look of my edits. I enjoy seing how close to the original i can get them using different layers etc. Quite different from Returns' gradients but i think World just about tops it for ease and more parts options.
.....ok "just one more thing" *re-enters room*
So if one guy is say 5 in all attacks and is up against someone who is all 6 in defense would...
The defender never get hurt from any of the attackers moves?
Their S attacks hurt either?
Only the Finisher damage them by 1?
Again thank you all and i hope these questions aren't getting tedious. X.

I envy your point in the Fire Pro progress cycle right now. You're just realizing all that you can do with the game and starting to see how things work. It's an exciting time! 😎 .....ok "just one more thing" *re-enters room* So if one guy is say 5 in all attacks and is up against someone who is all 6 in defense would... The defender never get hurt from any of the attackers moves? Their S attacks hurt either? Only the Finisher damage them by 1? Even an edit with 10 punch defense will still take damage from a punch thrown by an edit with 1 punch offense. The reason for that is the parameters merely modify the damage taken rather than dictate it. There will always be some damage done by the move since each move has a base damage assigned to it. The parameters modify that but can never completely eliminate some damage from being done. There is a whole damage calculation that takes into account factors like the base damage of the actual move being done, the size of each wrestler, the parameters assigned to offense and defense, and special skills. Also remember that each move has two parameters assigned to it. So if you get a move that is Punch/Rough (for example), the offensive wrestler may have a lower punch offense than the defensive punch parameter of the other edit. But it's possible the offensive wrestler has a higher rough offensive parameter than the defensive rough parameter of the other edit. So there are a lot of considerations. But an offensive move will always do some HP damage. But if the opponent has high recovery skill, that damage may be negated not that long after. Again thank you all and i hope these questions aren't getting tedious. X. Not tedious at all. Everyone that now has this knowledge had to first ask questions to get it. Plus, many of us (like me!) routinely forget stuff so it helps when people ask it and we get to refresh our memories!

Edit: Geese got in before I did with some more direct details lol
Original: No, not how it works at all. Guy with a six defense will still take almost as much damage as a guy with five defense, but slightly less. Guy with a nine defense will still take damage, but noticeably less. It's not like an RPG armor system where they're protected from all damage below a certain threshold.
The damage figures themselves are...complicated. There was a calculator for it, a long time ago, but knowing the exact figures isn't necessary for the most part. There is a list of move data for FPR on gamefaqs that has the base damage each move does, among other things. That can be helpful to understand how much damage the moves do relative to each other, at any rate.
Phil Parent's almanac in the classic section here can also be useful for figuring out where your parameters should fall, although I would disregard guys that are story mode special/boss variants. (Start off looking up guys without a lot of stuff in parentheses after their names.)

Brill! Thanks both again!
This is much more in depth than i first thought. Insane amount of potential here for those who can master this 🤪
All i can say is this game will possibly last me forever (i kind of don't want there to be another sequel so i can just keep tweeking)
Right I'm off to reorganize everything...wish me luck 😎👍
What a helpful and chilled out forum/people. Cheers.x.

Always feel free to ask questions around here. The way I learned Fire Pro was ask questions, test things out, end up with new questions, ask them, get a little confused, ask for clarification, go back to test, make a disturbing fruit-based character edit, get shunned, do penance, ask more questions, start to have an actual idea what I was doing then ask a question and realize I had even less of an idea of what I was doing than I thought, COM Skip wrestler leagues and take the order of winners to mistakenly assume I understood hierarchy of my edits (which you can't truly understand without actually watching the matches), ask more questions, answer some questions from people asking questions I used to ask, realize I was giving them bad answers, ask more questions, cry. And that was like just the first week! This game has infinite replay value. You're just getting into things now but there's ALWAYS more to learn. And that keeps it exciting. Plus FPW gives us so many options with priorities that you can spend hours a day coming up with strategies for new edits and alternate strategies for the same edit. It's creative candy 🍭

Something I haven't looked at in a while: What is the easiest way to add in theme music to the PS4 version? Do you still have to copy each wrestler and then add in the custom theme under the Skills section?

Regardless I’m still hoping the up the song limit because 40 just isn’t anywhere near enough.

They improved things slightly where you can load your edits by browsing through the promotions and factions. Hoping they’ll let you do the same when copying and saving a downloaded wrestler instead of having to find the person you’re replacing in a long, chronological list.

Can someone clarify for me, with the new dlc, can we use our own logos for promotions/stables or can we only choose from the ones provided? Thanks.

Has anyone had a run-in with entrance attire on the PS4? I can deal with it choosing from outfits 1-3, but if it pulls for the run-ins on your entrance gear, that's no bueno, they should fix it.
Maybe make it so that once you set an outfit as entrance, it doesn't use it as a run-in. I think with the amount of edits they give us, we have to accept slots as different gear, slight color/costume variation and not all together different look/gimmick. I just need it to not pull from there since I often will have belts in the entrance outfit. I think I see the reasoning on that too, people will be more likely to make a special entrance per title match with the edit options laid out this way.

Small nitpick: I really wish they would get around to allowing us more than three BGM choices during matches. They could easily just add a bunch of tracks from FPR or whatever.

Yeah, I know. I also own the Steam version...I just much prefer playing on my PS4 on my 65" TV.
