Appreciate you biting the bullet for us, Geese.
I feel like the interest in the remasters has really died down now that Elden Ring is set to dominate spring with its sales and gameplay. I've never played a Soulslike game before, but even my timid gaming ass may have to try it if not for the George R.R. Martin input.
I'll keep it under consideration since my FFVI stuff is stuck on my PS3, but I may wait for a sale.

Appreciate you biting the bullet for us, Geese. Me = willing crash test dummy for any new iteration of FFVI π If someone finds a way to run it via "science fair" potato battery, I'm there with butter on π₯ I feel like the interest in the remasters has really died down now that Elden Ring is set to dominate spring with its sales and gameplay. I've never played a Soulslike game before, but even my timid gaming ass may have to try it if not for the George R.R. Martin input. Yeah, the remasters had initial hype but not so much anymore. And there were already signs in the pre-release videos that the new FFVI would have some issues. I get that. Nothing could ever compete with my initial experience of playing it anyway. But it is frustrating that there are issues, a ton of glitches, and the lack of content that really should have been added to the game (like the new content from the GBA version). So I'm weighing the good and the bad. I don't even know if I want to play all the way through it. My last playthrough was when the GBA version came out and I really enjoyed that. I want to play it as much for the new music as the nostalgia but there are other things I also want to do and play. I'll keep it under consideration since my FFVI stuff is stuck on my PS3, but I may wait for a sale. That's probably the right move. If you get it for like $10, it will be a steal given the new soundtrack. I do hope Square is around for long enough to fix the glitches in the game.

To Nth and all fans of Final Fantasy VI. The Steam Pixel remaster version is getting all types of mixed reviews. There seem to be some glitches and other irregularities. I personally wish they included the new content from the GBA game. But I'm here to say that if you love the FFVI music, you should get the game. I loaded the Steam version up for the first time last night. They have an in-game music player that I proceeded to listen to for like 2 hours. I had no idea that Square re-mastered/re-arranged every song in the original soundtrack. It is phenomenal. I love the original soundtrack and marvel at what Nobuo was able to do with the SNES technology. But when you listen to the re-arranged versions, you get the sense of what he wanted to do all along. So many of the songs I liked have taken on new life and many of the songs I loved got even better. That being said - I would have liked the original soundtrack to also have been included for posterity sake and so people could choose to have the original experience. The bonus "timelapse versions" that came with the pre-order are different and awesome in their own way. There are only 5 of them though and I would have liked even more. But I really can't complain. I've listened to these songs (and hundreds of remixes) for over 25 years and to hear them done to this level by Square in the game is amazing. I can't wait to actually play the game hearing them. I assume it will get some patching, the other Final Fantasy games did as they got released.

I normally don't care about trophies in games, but I platinum'd Tails of Iron and it won't give me the trophy. That would have been my first platinum ever, aside from The Walking Dead which is pretty much a hand holding platinum.

I read that a free update came out, could it have new trophies that stop you from getting the King of Kings platinum?

I read that a free update came out, could it have new trophies that stop you from getting the King of Kings platinum? Ah, I found out what was going on. I did get the platinum but it still says only 98% of trophies unlocked because there is one additional trophy from the update where you have to beat the game again in Bloody Whisker mode, a new difficulty level for the game. Well I may end up doing that some day, but I just beat the game and all the post game content so I'm happy with that. Check one off the backlog.

Glad the first patch is up. I know they still have a long way to go. There's an issue with Locke not being able to properly steal if he has a shield in the wrong hand or something like that.
Also, this kind of cracked me up:
I'm glad that any glitch is fixed but it's just funny to me how it was discovered. Like is this some kind of automatic re-distribution glitch on the game's part (which would suck)? Or do people feel the need to transfer all of Gau's stuff for the two battles that he disappears after Leaping!? It's extra funny to me cause I got up to the Veldt the last time I played and hung around there for like an hour trying to grab certain Rages. At no point during the 50+ battles two nights ago (or the hundreds of battles from previous playthroughs) did I ever feel I needed to re-distribute Gau's items while he's gone. It's a colossal waste of time doing it every time he leaps and comes back and has minimum positive effect. People need to just keep wandering in circles, enjoy the music (the re-done version has extra THUMP), and get that meat ready ππ₯©π

Played both of the FAR games in one sitting and beat both. Short and not too hard. Theyβre more like art games like Journey was, but I liked that the game play revolves around keeping those slow plodding vehicles moving and a nice ending linking the two games.

PSN'd a couple games recently. The Ascent just came out and the ambience is astounding. I don't think I can name a game where as much detail has gone into the backgrounds and environments. And that opening theme. As soon as I booted up the game I left the title screen on to listen to the full song and immediately thought Blade Runner meets Ghost in the Shell. When I looked the song up on youtube to download the first comment is someone saying that the song is like Blade Runner meets Ghost in the Shell meets Akira which is even more accurate. If there was a new Shadowrun game in the making, I want these guys doing the environments. I can't tell you the amount of time I just spent walking around taking in the ambience. If only we could zoom the cameras in and out. I actually did use the PS4's text reading zoom function a couple times just to look at stuff up close.
So far enjoying it. It's basically an action RPG, twin stick shooter. Like the story as well with the game being set in a massive corporately run offworld megastructure called an Arcology. Another staple in Shadowrun. The corporation for one reason or another abandons the arcology leaving it in a state of chaos as the citizens are unsure what to do with no one in charge. Of course factions dwelling within the Arcology see this as a chance to seize power for themselves. You play as an "Indent" or basically an indentured servant who are criminals culled from the prison population to perform dangerous jobs to pay off your debt. The grift being, Indents never live long enough or earn enough to ever pay off their debts. It's a 4 player coop game although I haven't tried it with anyone else yet. I hear the game runs pretty poorly on standard PS4's, but on Pro's it's running decently. I was actually hoping to have a PS5 by the time it released but I don't and I didn't want to wait any longer to play it. Fortunately most PS4 games selling on PSN now come bundled with the free PS5 upgrade.
Also picked up Relayer, but haven't tried it yet. Picked up Kentucky Route Zero as well. It's one of those kind've artsy surreal games that I can't even begin to explain. Heavily praised but hard to find anyone that can explain what actually happens. Here's the trailer and you can try and make sense of it yourself.

So after 6 years and a couple of aborted attempts, I've finally moved past the prologue of the Witcher (the first one).
Having NEVER been a PC gamer prior, it's taken a while to adapt to the mouse and keyboard (not to mention that my previous two PCs couldn't really run it).
My hope is to eventually complete this one and its direct sequel, as I've never played that one either.

On an impulse (which doesn't happen often), I bought WWE 2k22. Not bad but I popped Fire Pro back in after a couple of days. The last 2k I had was WWE 2k16, so I can see a big difference.
One thing I was impressed with was how fluidly you can put an opponent through a table.
I also got Lego Skywalker Saga, I've been enjoying that game immensely. I am at ESB...and I wonder if the game could do a better job with the "Sequel Trilogy" than the Disney crew.

The past month has been like "3-4 days of Final Fantasy VI" then "3-4 days of working on one new FPW edit" then like 2 days of no games as a palette cleanser before the two, then rinse-repeating.
Literally no other game could survive being sandwiched in between those two pillars either π

How do you do announce table spots? I can't figure that out.
