Playing and enjoying Tony Hawk 1+2 but man, I do NOT have the skill at it that I did 15-20 years ago. I guess it did take more than a week to build up but still, I hate not being good anymore lol Just talking to my neighbour about this, we’ve both been waffling back and forth as to whether or not to pick THPS up or not. We both played the shit out of these games way back, and we were speculating whether we’d still have the skills or not, I guess you’ve cleared that question up! Keep posting, I’m really interested to see what you think! Yeah it's interesting to see who still who has the muscle memory still and who struggles. I know I didn't play it enough to even develop it but I still want to get it at one point. Send really well made

We both played the shit out of these games way back, and we were speculating whether we’d still have the skills or not, I guess you’ve cleared that question up! Keep posting, I’m really interested to see what you think! Honestly, if it's something that you REALLY enjoyed back in the day then it will probably be well worth your $40 since you'll "probably" still really like it regardless of your current skill level. The nostalgia and that amazing soundtrack will bring you in but the actual challenge of it will keep you playing. As far as getting back in the groove, it's just taking it one run at a time and finding what works and what doesn't. I personally haven't even been score chasing (just getting the minimum to clear the three score objectives on each level) but have noticed that my scores are getting better by the day just as happenstance from me playing more and getting better at it. Million scores used to be common but I'm not there just yet.
Went from 100k on day 1 to 200k a few days later and I'm still working my way up (outside of the 10 or so level goals, there are tons of other challenges that unlock experience for your profile level, cash for the in-game skate shop (to buy gear for your created skater, which me and many others use primarily), and unlockable boards, tricks slots, and gear the CAS AND the Pros (they all have their own challenges that are tailored to how they skate, i.e. Tony Hawk's are Vert based, Rodney Mullen's are Street based, and newcomer Lizzie Armanto is "Park" based which is a combination of the other two styles).
So yeah, between all of the goals, playing with all of the different skaters and their various tricks (and finding their stat points to make things easier) and just trying to challenge yourself and/or see what kind of crazy shit you can successfully string together, I'd say it's a pretty full game, certainly more so than when the games were originally released.
That's not to mention the online stuff or the park editor, neither of which I've touched as of yet.
But yeah, after a week, I'm thoroughly hooked and making strides to get those scores back to where I remember them being.
One thing that I dislike but have "made my peace with" is that the create-a-skater is lacking since you only get 20ish faces to choose from and you can't tweak anything about the shape, just things like coloration and hairstyle. There's also no body morphing, so every CAS is the exact same size (including the females; note, that this CAS is roughly the same size as the 6'2" Tony Hawk lol). I also dislike that there's a marked lack of unlockable skaters (just two) and neither of them are those wacky licensed characters that we enjoyed back in the day. This is presumably because both the Marvel and Star Wars licenses are worth much, much more now than they were 15-20 years ago and it probably wasn't worth blowing their budget to get them back in. Shame because they always had some fun, out of this world special moves but it is what it is. I "think" the roster of pro skaters is about the largest that it's ever been with 21 pros (the 13 originals and 8 currently active pros) so missing the bonus guys isn't that huge of a deal imo. The digital deluxe edition does include a 22nd, fictional skater so there's a;sp that.

I enjoyed the earlier Tony Hawk games back on the PS2 days, but the later games he was branded on soured my optimism for anything in the future.
At least SKATE was an amazing alternative to it. I'll probably wait for a price drop or not buy it at all. My backlog is already way too big.

I never played the latter ones myself I think just the original 2. All those people seem to really enjoy this remake though. And yeah my backlog is part of why I'll holding enough for a long time(and my busy life until I finish school in the spring)

I picked up Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC this past weekend and spent about 8 hours with the Online game. I'm terrible at it. I was running around aimlessly doing whatever I ran into. I killed a bison that was glitched against a tree. I did a Race event and had some guy that was really pissed at me shooting at me while I zoomed around on my Thoroughbred horse I got from purchasing the Ultimate Edition of the game. So that was fun, lol. And then I got into one of the Sheriff missions early on (in Chapter 1). I learned the hard way that I don't know my way around an Xbox controller. Myself and my team had to capture four outlaws that apparently stole some goods. So we all picked a target and I had mine who was up a hill in a field just across a small creek-bed. I caught him easily, and then I accidentally hit the B button to let him go and he took off running. I missed with the lasso a bunch of times and at this point I'm completely embarrassed by my performance and I turned around and my teammate graciously hog-tied the target and dumped the guy on my horse, named Screeching Ghost, and off we ran. It was so awful and I felt so bad I almost cried about it lol. Evidently this is a threat to teenage manhood:

Playing through Weapons Master mode on SoulCalibur II HD remix on Xbox One. I had to capture & save this one fight because I love how it ended:

VPW2 Freem Edition again. I put a default CAW into a simmed battle royale earlier and he lasted longer than I thought (~12 minutes), even getting four eliminations. Two pins, one sub, and one over the rope.
ROOKIE FIRE~!

I put the same default CAW in another battle royale. This time he got eliminated within the first ten seconds. Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That is a steal. Zero is incredible, and the Kiwami remakes of one and two are also great! I’m stoked for you. PS: you should probably pick up yakuza’s sexy cousin Fist of the Northstar by the same group featuring that lovable fella Kenshiro while you’re at it!

Zero seems to be the best place to start from what I hear. I have watched people play it and it was fantastic I want to get it and play it myself at some point.

Yeah, I read the timeline of the games and noticed 0 was a prequel to the others and starts in 1988.
I already had Kiwami which is a remake of 1 that I got at a Goodwill for $5 so I figured I just get the rest of them.

Good shit, Zealot! I hope you enjoy those Yakuza games. I've only played 0 and the original releases of 1 and 2 (including the TERRIBAD English dub of the original) but I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I might consider picking up the rest if they're available for that deep a discount atm (I think they're normally about $20, excepting 6 which is like 30 or $40).
As for me, I'm still pretty into trying to clear the in-game challenges in THPS 1+2. I've definitely upped my skill since day 1 lol.

Yup, Fist of the Northstar is on sale, as is Judgement, all by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the fine people who brought us Yakuza!
