Has anyone else ever heard of this game? store.steampowered.com/app/846110/The_friends_of_Ringo_Ishikawa/It looks like a River City Ransom clone but with more RPG elements for a "life of a student."ย The main criticisms I've heard from Steam reviews is that there are no directions/instructions given as to how to play or what to do. But the fighting looks really good for a side scroller, even held to the high RCR standard. This look pretty interesting. I will definitely have to pick this game up in a sale at some point.

Still messing with Ninja Gaiden Black, already further along than when I first tried it years ago (just beat the big dude on the zeppelin). I cannot believe that this game is FOURTEEN years old, it still looks great, and aside from the camera hang ups the series is notorious for, the controls are tight, the action is fast, brutally violent and bloody, and itโs just well put together and pretty overall! Feels like a Platinum Games title, fast and crazy, but with tight, intuitive controls. Bioshock floored me with how well it aged a couple of years ago, but this is crazy!
How could Tecmo let Ryu Hyabusa languish in ninja purgatory when gaming needs ninjas more than ever? Konami with Snake and the Belmonts/Alucard, Capcom setting aside Viewtiful Joe and Sissel (from Ghost Trick)... just donโt get it! Glad for backward compatibility!

How could Tecmo let Ryu Hyabusa languish in ninja purgatory when gaming needs ninjas more than ever? That sounds like a set-up to a Bad Dudes sequel! ๐ "Fun has been kidnapped! Are you ninja enough to save the gaming industry!?" โ

Not only is that a fantastic signature line and incredibly quotable, but also very prophetic. Fun most certainly HAS been kidnapped! Luckily for us, expensive, strictly cosmetic DLC, pay to play characters and levels that should already be in the game, and day one, 10 gig patches are an easily payable ransom so that none of us need to be ninja enough!

Just a nice little editorial piece on why From Software should finally get to make a Berserk game, since Berserk was pretty much the inspiration for the Soulsborne series.
EDIT: Also just found out World War Z sold over a million already and they've confirmed there will be a Tokyo DLC for it.

Played a bit more Ninja Gaiden Black on the xbone today and got as far as stage five before I got tired of getting honkey tonked by spider clan ninjas with exploding kunai. I found something cool on stage four, and it reminded me that Ninja Gaiden was a timed exclusive for the OG XBOX. XBOX healing shrine!!!Pretty cool to find when you're not expecting it. I checked to see if somehow this shrine made it into Sony's NG Sigma, but they just have a boring ass black panel with the team ninja logo on it. You'd likely have to pay for cool easter eggs like this as DLC in games now, so this was a fun little find! :)

15gig patch to download for WWZ so I won't be playing that for a while.
Got a nice chunk of progress in playing Sekiro though. Killed a one armed swordsman Ministry Ninja, one of the Seven Spears of Ashina, two Ashina general mini bosses, the Sword Master of Ashina and the armored knight. Did some character stat upgrading and found a couple more prosthetic pieces including the retractable spear and the iron umbrella. The retractable spear was pretty effective, I actually beat the Sword Master of Ashina using it in one try without taking a hit. Now I'm on night shift Wednesday and Thursday so I know I will lose all the fighting skills I practiced playing straight for six hours last night.

I finally picked up Dragon's Dogma on switch. That game has some flaws but it's my favorite of all time. So many of the things they did in 2012 really stuck with me which is crazy since I was in my early 20s and well outside that nostalgia age range. So I'm excited to experience that game on with the ability to play it anywhere, the only way I can have time to play an rpg

I get nostalgic about things from my early 20s sometimes so I don't think that's really the age where people stop being able to enjoy things enough to attribute nostalgia to it. Perhaps it's closer to the mid-to-late 20s.
Then again I'm a late bloomer.
Or sometimes a good game is just a good game regardless of how old you were when you first played it.

Yeah I was thinking peak nostalgia time like 7-15 which for me was nes n64 ps2 stuff and a lot of Nintendo handheld stuff since my older brothers hogged the consoles.
Dragon's Dogma is that good to me though. It just did so many things that I think about even though it has flaws that would kill most any other game for me. It really is my favorite game of all time.

I missed Dragon's Dogma during its original run, even though I owned it, I just never got around to playing it. When Dragon's Dogma Arisen came out on PS4 I bought that and loved it. Boy does that series need a multiplayer component in the same vein as The Division games where people can come and go with your party as they please. The Pawn system is nice, but I'd actually play through the game with other people.
When I watched Goblin Slayer it constantly reminded me of Dragon's Dogma. I know in Japan there is an online Dragon's Dogma that supports multiplayer. The only thing the game needed that I thought was missing was the ability to lock on to an enemy.

Oh yeah that is the thing I need on switch especially is lock on. And yeah in Japan they released an MMO. I like the pawn system a lot and the lore it adds to the world is great. I would like online multiplayer if I people to regularly play with but I don't which is part of why I love the pawn system.
Also it's a crime that original title screen song is not on the dark arisen version of the game.
