For me, it's all about timing. All of their announcements were initially driven towards time when I was off. The August 28th PC DLC would be perfect for my September vacation. The delays really affected me because of this. I'm moving next week and I don't know when I'll have another month off, if ever.

Pessimism is not inherently a bad thing. For some it may be easier to expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if they're proven wrong. It what I like to call cautious pessimism. As for me personally, I'm ready to move on. The announcement of Fire Promoter got me pumped. I downloaded hundreds of edits in anticipation for the mode. I became lukewarm towards the game when Fire Promoter was put on hiatus, as well as other updates for the PC version, in order to work on the PS4 version. Now that the NJPW DLC for the PC has been delayed indefinitely, along with Fire Promoter and the updated user interface being nowhere in sight, I'm ice-cold towards the game. Plus, for the first time in six years I'm actually looking forward to a new WWE game, so that could potentially be several months of me playing a wrestling game that isn't FPW. Please do not take this as me just dumping on Spike/Chunsoft. Clearly they came into this project with the best intentions in mind. Unfortunately, it has become clear that they're in over their heads and the team is either too small or not talented enough to make good on their promises. In regards to the updated interface...I feel like everyone is expecting some big revamped U/I. But having played the pc version and the PS4 version, the only difference is that the backgrounds in the U/I are animated (and cause the game to freeze a lot). Nothing groundbreaking, same problems with tediously filing edits and then finding them, etc. Am I wrong? There's basically no difference besides the animations in the background.

I think the fact that the UI doesn't actually provide any improved functionality was validated months ago. I don't think any PC player expects it to provide anything beyond a new (and potentially buggy) look; no sorting, improved navigation or anything else.

Indeed, at this point I'll just consider the current version of PC World to be the final release. Whenever they release the DLC I'll try to act surprised.

I still believe that 2k bought fire Pro and it will be replacing the smackdown engine in 2020. THQ never died. They lived to suck the soul outta fire pro. Don't blame THQ's ghost or 2K for the soul being sucked out of Fire Pro, dude. That one falls squarely on the higher ups at Spike Chunsoft.

I think I read that EA might play a part in this too. It's bigger than any one of us could ever comprehend.

Would World be the equivalent of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? Or Attack of the Clones?

People acting like it's The Last Jedi. It certainly feels like Matsumoto is old man Luke right now.

My hype for this has basically disintegrated.. A month ago, the only thing on my mind was when new parts were coming out so I could start on my roster from scratch.. Now I couldn't care less.. I'll probably still get the NJPW content (if I can spare some money) just to mess around with, but my hype for it is gone. Spike really killed all momentum they had with the poorly timed delay announcement and then lack of answers afterwards.
