I absolutely love the idea of this ppv even if the concept has happened pathetically late - it’s 2018. I hope it can lead to longer term storyline development between the characters of NXT and WWE, some four horsewomen wwe vs four horsewomen mma interaction or asuka/kairi sane etc
Wondering if we will have some form of non finish at summerslam now, to have Ronda win the title from Bliss at Evolution

I like the idea of the PPV but WWE will invariably screw it up while shoving that back-patting bitch Stephanie McMahon down our throats in the process.
Much as I really want this for the profile of women's wrestling, it's already tainted.

but I think having all the roster stand around in backstage segments talking about how great it is, and Braun taking time out of his in ring promo to talk about it might end up backfiring on them. It was especially awkward with Braun, whom you can't really picture going "Let me take a minute out of my busy schedule of attempting to murder this Canadian to tell you all about womens wrestling." I think those segments would have come off better if it was one of the girls directly interacting with one of the guys, and said guy giving them props for the accomplishment. Agreed on this. Meltzer made a funny comment on Wrestling Observer Radio about how ridiculous it would be if Undertaker was at the show last night, plugging the PPV in full gimmick. Another WWE note unrelated to the PPV: Matt Riddle pulled out of PWG's BOLA, and reports are coming in that he's finally signed with WWE.

They relax on the pot smoking?
Because I don't see Riddle as the kinda guy that quits.
So he'll be in impact in 9 months.

Apparently some guys even set aside money for the "pot tax." But Riddle has also said that he'd be willing to quit altogether if WWE offered enough money.

Well, good for Riddle, but...I really am wondering how he's going to fit into the current product with his style. I guess with Rousey in there and that story about Cain Velasquez training at the PC, it shows that the WWE still has a vested interest in the MMA market. Meanwhile, poor Joey...

^ I'll consider the PPV a failure if this isn't the official song. In unrelated news, WWE has finally decided to give us the Universal Championship match everyone's been clamoring for. At Summerslam, Brock will defend his title against... THE BIG DOG™ Roman Reigns I have this sneaking suspicion that Brock wins again, but it's such a knock down fight that Braun cashes in and wins the title, running Brock out of WWE once and for all. Then we get a weird face vs "face" feud where Roman bellyaches a bunch more about being the uncrowned champion and that Braun screwed him out of his title, while Braun tells him to kick rocks because he couldn't get the job done, and he did get the job done. And yet somehow, Braun ends up turning heel from all of it.

I could see that happening, but another development from Raw was Kevin Owens will be facing Braun Strowman with the MitB briefcase on the line. If Braun loses, even if it's by countout or DQ, he loses the briefcase. So it seems like Owens has a good chance of getting the briefcase, but I could see him cashing in and winning the title.

Matt Riddle is probably the indie name guy who would most benefit from going to NXT for a bit as he's picked up a bunch of bad habits due to basically starting as a top indie attraction. Even if he crashes and burns out of WWE within a few years he'll likely benefit from the experience more than most.

You can't build a brand without repeating the name 4000x per hour. Everyone knows that.

Much as I really want this for the profile of women's wrestling, it's already tainted. Every time she mentions "women", "revolution", "evolution", or any similar terms, I end up like this: The worst part of this is as hard as the women work, and no matter how many legitimately good matches there are ... the fact Stephanie often comes off like she's giving herself one giant pat on the back every time you see her makes a small portion of the audience reject the women outright rather than just rolling their eyes at Steph and enjoying the good matches when they happen. This is often weirder still considering the fact these same people will rave about the women wrestling when the matches are happening and NXT but almost immediately lose interest as soon as they become a part of Stephanie's three ring philanthropy circus. I get that the whole thing is a big deal for Stephanie, and I think she should be a part of it - but as a heel character, rather than the "face" of it. Leave that to the stars like Charlotte and Asuka.
