Well, the laptop seems incapable of running Fire Pro without crashing constantly. Sucks.
Hiatus continues until I get the new desktop, I guess. Hate this mess.

I'm really sorry to hear that you are having problems with Fire Pro crashing. I know that frustration all too well. I had to stop playing entirely this past Fall because it kept crashing and I didn't have enough time to delete subscriptions. I don't know if this issue you are having is due to that or due to the laptop you are using. In any case, I just wanted to share a few tips that I have used to cut down on my crashes a little. I hope they help.
- Running FP at the lowest resolution. This isn't easy on the eyes, especially creating edits on laptops, but it's at least doable. Granted, it's not doable for long stretches of time 🔥👀 What I tend to do is run Fire Pro at the lowest resolution for most of the time but bump it up to the second highest resolution when I do appearance work. I can function pretty decently choosing moves and even doing logic on the lowest resolution.
- Closing down every other program you are using at the same time you use Fire Pro.
- Deleting subscriptions that you don't need. I have found that Parts craft, specifically, takes up a huge amount of memory. I deleted like 5-10 parts and that made a bigger difference than 50+ moves. My game was constantly crashing in the Fall and deleting Parts really helped make things stable again.
At the very least, I can completely empathize with your frustration right now. I was on a creative hot streak at the end of last summer and it just completely bottomed out once Fire Pro stopped working.

As I try to slowly purge a bunch of Parts Craft stuff I don't need, I'm still running into crashes fairly regularly only a few deletions in. I'm pretty sure it's just a VRAM issue at this point: the damn thing is only running 128MB of dedicated VRAM, and the game asks a minimum of 512MB, which is probably why it's giving me so many fits.
I could probably make it assign more dedicated VRAM but I'm a little squirrelly about getting into that sort of thing. Changing settings and the like. I'm sure it'd probably work and all, but I'm in this state of "what if I fuck something up" quite a bit.
With any luck I'll have a desktop ready to roll by the end of next week. I've got my eye on some stuff.

Yeah, I've been nervous to change any of the "under the hood" settings on my computer to accommodate Fire Pro. Not only could it end up making things with Fire Pro worse, but it could ruin the computer overall. Deleting moves is an arduous and boring process but over time it works for me. I find that it takes me deleting like 50+ moves before I start seeing any positive results. And even then, I still get crashes. I deleted a ton today only to have the game crash literally when I left the "delete subscriptions" menu 🤦♂️
For you, this may just be a VRAM issue with the specific laptop you are using. In that case, there really may not be anything you can do besides wait. But since you're getting a new desktop soon, things will hopefully run smoothly again with that.
In the meantime, it may still help your desktop Fire Pro experience to continue deleting subscriptions.

Well, further good news, in that I'm fully capable of getting through matches to record them. So I'm gonna spend the next couple of days recording the card, and then just stitch that together for the show proper (basically just capture VLC through OBS, like I've done for so many pre-recorded bits in the past.) Tentatively, I should be able to do this, finally, on Thursday. And then this mess will finally be over and done with. To that end, have a finalized card for New Year's Bash V, AKA The most cursed show in Phoenix Rising history. :V New Year's Bash V Full Card Ruthless Nicole Alger vs. Kyle Anderson for the Pacific Northwest Championship
eMo vs. The Midwest Initiative for the Phoenix Rising Trios Championships
Todd Colton vs. Nathan Haines for the Heart of Texas Championship
Celine Chevalier vs. Angel Leblanc
Shiana Sentarl vs. Victoria Frey
The GOAT vs. Eri Sentarl and Chichi for the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships
HAYATO vs. Riccardo De Luca for the Top Prospect Championship
Kantar vs. Babe Ruthless for the Evergreen Championship
Carmen Latour vs. Johnny Rocket for the Spirit of Texas Championship
Veronika Armstrong vs. Mascara Avispa for the Phoenix Rising World Championship Entrances probably won't be done for some of the matches here, in that they'll just walk out standard, and I don't have any of my logos, but goddammit, I'm getting this show aired, one way or another.

Pre-records went mostly smoothly outside of one match just to add onto the pile of "cursed show" (I considered cutting the match but we're going ahead with the whole thing). Show will take place TONIGHT at 7:30 Pacific time. Let's finally close out 2022, three weeks late. www.twitch.tv/firehawk2289

Well, we finally pulled it off. New Year's Bash is FINALLY in the books. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1712761851Youtube: youtu.be/31kdg0r66G0Quick Results Ruthless Nicole Alger def. Kyle Anderson to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion The Midwest Initiative def. eMo to retain the Trios Championships Todd Colton def. Nathan Haines to become the NEW Heart of Texas Champion Celine Chevalier def. Angel Leblanc Victoria Frey def. Shiana Sentarl Eri Sentarl and Chichi def. The GOAT to retain the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships HAYATO def. Riccardo De Luca to become the NEW Top Prospect Champion Babe Ruthless def. Kantar to retain the Evergreen Championship Johnny Rocket def. Carmen Latour to retain the Spirit of Texas Championship Mascara Avispa def. Veronika Armstrong to retain the Phoenix Rising World Championship Write-ups A truly gutsy performance by RNA in this one, fighting for every inch with Kyle Anderson. Her eyes were on the prize… and RNA scored big, winning the Pacific Northwest Championship with the Ruthless Armripper, after a hard-fought battle. Another harsh blow to Pure Gold. The Midwest Initiative is definitely riding on the back of Colt Whitfield’s hard work as of late. His Shocker Locker leglock has been the greatest weapon for the young trio, and he put it to good use again here, forcing Luci to tap out and retaining the Trios Championships once again, entering 2023 as a major force. Todd Colton is a man on a mission. Demanding that AFW take him seriously, this is one way to do that… by wiping out Nathan Haines and claiming his first bit of AFW gold. The Heart of Texas Championship is proving to be nearly impossible to hang onto… Celine Chevalier has been waiting for this match for months. Finally, she got Angel Leblanc in the ring, and the Knight-Errant proceeded to wrestle the match of her life, finally locking in the Chevalier Lock, and scoring a huge, important submission victory. The long-awaited rematch between Shiana Sentarl and Victoria Frey saw the outsider once again look insurmountable. Despite a rough lead-up to this match, with the rest of Vindication proving to be stronger, Victoria turned up the heat and brought her best to this one, bringing down Shiana in impressive fashion. Eri Sentarl has wanted to be a tag team champion for a good while… and now that she finally has the titles around her waist alongside Chichi, she has absolutely no intention of letting them go. This was a battle… and both members of the GOAT seemed unwilling to make this easy, family or not. But Eri endured, and finally, secured a victory to retain the titles. HAYATO’s brash attitude has been grating on Proving Ground fans for a good while now… but he’s also one hell of a wrestler, and he proved it here against Riccardo, enduring the onslaught of the Perpetual Motion machine, and planting the champion with a HAYATO Driver, securing the Top Prospect Championship to enter the new year at the top of the mountain. One of the most vicious and gutsy performances ever seen by an Evergreen wrestler: Babe Ruthless is for real. Faced with perhaps the toughest challenge of her career, she did not back down from Kantar for a second, taking the fight straight to him, and after a brutal fight on the outside, she managed to secure her Full Nelson Clutch to force a submission, and retain the Evergreen Championship! Every bit the high-flying contest we anticipated: Carmen and Rocket were electric here, turning this into maybe the best match of the night. But although Carmen has been one of AFW’s best all year, Johnny Rocket is one of the best in the world at what he does… and the Spirit of Texas Championship would not be leaving its home town. Rocket retains, and the title remains on a Houston native. Closing out the night, Veronika Armstrong, Grand Ascension winner, had a tremendous challenge ahead of her. Mascara Avispa remains The Best when it comes to Phoenix Rising talent… and he was simply insurmountable tonight, even as it looked like Veronika was taking charge. Never count the World Champion out… Avispa retains, and it looks like it’s going to be very, very difficult to dethrone him.

Small update: Still working on getting that new computer ordered and lined up and all that. Plan is to build it by ordering the parts (so I don't get another pre-built POS with the wrong kind of power supply and underpowered specs). Road should be coming to an end soon, though, and we can kick off the first event of 2023 properly, which will be a two-night affair:
We're doing a lottery tag team tournament. 32 names, 16 teams, single-elimination. The teams will be decided tomorrow night, live on stream, at the usual 7:30 Pacific timeslot (possibly later if there's other stuff happening).
I'll update again after tomorrow night with a list of the participating teams, and when the new computer's up and running, we'll get a bracket set up and get things on track.

www.twitch.tv/videos/1732725748There's the full 30-minute (or so) stream of the team selections, with a bit of musing about the possibilities in the bracket. Your teams for the Lottery Tag Tournament are as follows: Stanford Bradley and Camilla Kidd Ziggy Rockefeller and Addison Grey Kumiko Nagano and Priya Mallaya Sayaka Harada and Jennifer Hunter Sanya Markov and Maya Minh Sai Nick MacLeod and Sung Moon Black Hawk and Bebop Tiger Riley Montgomery and Celine Chevalier Darkness Tiger and Julian Shepard Titania and Fantasia Bandita Kosuke Arai and Georgia Eagles Emilia Dos Santos and SATOMI The J T O and Poison Yuriko Kroll and Mercedes Ortega Concrete Pete and Rey de la Carne Jackson Shaw and Aline Richelieu Current opinions: Good god, Concrete Pete and Rey de la Carne together? The level of beef is too damn high. Kosuke Arai and Georgia Eagles as a team is horrifying as well. Also the wheel is a goddamn troll, picking Stanford first, right out of the gate. Evil little bastard.

I'm slightly irked at myself and at this game and all the weird nonsense that can happen.
All this time I figured the problem with the game was my laptop's VRAM. But a small thing: When I transferred my save file from my old desktop onto the laptop, it duplicated all of my move craft items. All of them.
A quick removal of the Move Craft file, to force a re-download of everything, eliminated all the duplicate moves.
And now all of a sudden the game feels stable and isn't crashing literally every five minutes trying to do something.
Not to jinx it, but in light of this new information, I'm going to tentatively announce that the Lottery Tag Tournament is on next week, Monday and Thursday.
If something comes up that makes me think "Nope, not actually stable", we'll postpone again, but... so far? We might be OK. We might be back on track. I don't fuckin' believe this mess.
Tournament bracket here. Predictions open and welcome.
If we get through this without a hitch, we're diving back into regular shows. Even when the new computer happens, it shouldn't result in much downtime.
now pardon me while I bang my head against a wall for the last two months of wasted time trying to figure out a problem that wasn't actually the problem AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I wouldn't have ever thought that is what was causing your issues. I think we all owe your VRAM an apology 😄 And now all of a sudden the game feels stable and isn't crashing literally every five minutes trying to do something. [/div] I'm really happy to hear that! It's a tremendous relief to be able to run this game again after months of it having problems and crashing. Glad to hear you are back in the saddle 🐎
