It's just one night to go. One big grand finale to the third Grand Ascension. Grand Ascension III Final Night Jerome Harris vs. Rafael Gallego vs. Mercedes Ortega, Block A Tiebreaker
Aishwarya Dhawan vs. Priya Mallaya
Amazon Kid vs. Blake Dynamite
Listalva Anne Heyward vs. Veronika Armstrong
Team Block A (El Evergringo, Besos, Todd Colton and Urani Whitemist) vs. Team Block B (Natasha Clover, Sung Moon, Katherine White and Rebecca Andrews)
Riccardo De Luca vs. Riley Montgomery
Rey de la Carne vs. Sanya Markov for the Top Prospect Championship
Tag match involving the Icons of Phoenix Rising
Victor Kintelas vs. Selisha for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Candace Monroe vs. Kanjirin Tonorian for the Phoenix Rising World Championship
The Grand Ascension Finals: Kaito Arai vs. Block A Tiebreaker winner Starting off the night, we've got to decide the winner of Block A. Just like both previous Ascensions, we've got ourselves a tie at the top... and so, Jerome Harris, Rafael Gallego and Mercedes Ortega will fight it out for the right to make it into the finals against the undefeated Kaito Arai. Aishwarya Dhawan's tournament run was a bit rough, but she's shown some serious improvement from the start, and now she'll get one more showcase against fellow Indian talent, Priya Mallaya. It'll be a strong clash of styles, with Dhawan's vicious power taken from the Destructive Duo squaring off against Priya's combination of technical ability and... we'll say, "Flashy" offense. After the run Amazon Kid's had, this might just qualify as a dream match. We've seen some incredible skill out of the wild jungle talent, and to put him in the ring with Phoenix Rising's premiere junior speaks a lot to how impressed everyone's been. Blake Dynamite will be a test and a half, make no mistake... but the Kid can almost certainly live up to it. Crossing over with Evergreen... Queen Anne will take on the heart and soul of the hardcore fed, with Veronika Armstrong making a rare appearance on a proper Phoenix Rising show that isn't part of a tournament bracket. Simple enough: this'll just be a fight to the finish. A new Ascension tradition: The big survivor tag match, coming off of last year's extremely successful one, a match that made Concrete Pete a legend. With Laura Tate's removal from the tournament, her spot in this match will be taken by Urani Whitemist instead... and make no mistake, that makes the Block A team a potentially dysfunctional mess. But a lot could happen... as we've seen before. Riccardo De Luca expressed a desire for a crossover opponent himself... and AFW delivered, sending over Riley Montgomery in a first-time meeting. They certainly never met in the 50-state tournament last year, when Riley was taken out by Elly Blackwood in the first round... but a lot has changed in the span of a year. The Top Prospect Championship is on the line. Sanya Markov has eagerly awaited his next challenger, and we found out last week after the five-way battle royal that it'd be Rey de la Carne... can Rey pull off a win over one of the most dominant Top Prospects in Proving Ground's history? We know very, very little about this match. All we've been told is that it involves the Icons of Phoenix Rising: Kileas Kintelas and Firehawk Sentarl. We don't know who their opponents will be... or any other detail to this match. What, exactly, is being planned here? The Pacific Northwest Championship has its second defense of the month, as usual, and this time, it'll be Victor Kintelas that steps up to face Selisha, who's looked very, very dangerous in her defenses thus far. Can the Naga Queen hold on to the title, and keep the Malevolent Triad on top? Candace Monroe has the toughest fight of her career ahead of her right here. The seemingly-invincible World Champion, Kanjirin Tonorian, has crushed anyone and everyone placed in his way over the course of the last six months... and it may not be a matter of Candace winning this match so much as surviving it... And finally, the tournament final. Kaito Arai won Block B outright with an absolutely superlative performance, sweeping the block with a 7-0 record, something that nobody has done before. Across the ring will be the winner of the opener... will it be Jerome Harris, the other outsider? Rafael Gallego, the "forgotten" Sentarl? Or Mercedes Ortega, the New Haven Natural? Whoever it happens to be... this final promises to be an epic conclusion to the third Grand Ascension, and set the stage for the main event of New Year's Bash...

Some final words from a handful of people on tonight's show. Kanjirin Tonorian"Everyone knows how this one ends. Everyone knows what's coming. The thought that Candace Monroe could possibly take this title from me? You're not ready to be World Champion, and you're nowhere near what it takes to beat me. I'll be watching and waiting to see who wins the tiebreaker... I'll wipe out Candace... then I'll eagerly anticipate who wins the final. Because make no mistake... regardless of who it is, you're not going to take me down either. I'll end this year still the World Champion. I'll remind everyone that Pure Gold has become the most dangerous force in Phoenix Rising. Watch... and wait. You'll know I'm right, when the dust settles and I still hold this championship high." Candace Monroe"The champ says I don't stand a chance. That I can't possibly beat him and become World Champion, that I'm walking into a hopeless situation. What you keep forgettin', big guy, is that I've spent my entire life being overlooked, underestimated, told I wasn't big enough, strong enough, fast enough, whatever. I've fought for years to come this far, do you think I'm gonna let you just walk all over me? Tonight, I'm gonna make you eat all of those words, I'm gonna wreck your legs, knock your ass around the ring and take that World Championship. I don't give a damn about Pure Gold, about our size difference, about any threat you might throw my way. I'm coming out the other side as the new World Champion." Firehawk Sentarl"Few days ago, Kileas told everyone, including me, about the tag match we're involved in tonight. Didn't go over any specifics, didn't even put it out there who the opposing team was gonna be, but... well, it's not like it matters, right? We've been one hell of a team for most of the year, and with the only real stumbling block being our own sons, well... I'd say we're still one of the top teams in Phoenix Rising. Kileas says we're headed for a new era... that we're putting those mis-steps behind us and getting back to where we ought to be.
That can mean a lot of things. I know there's a lot of possibilities running through my head tonight. A lot of ways that this match could go. After over a year of running with Kileas, after establishing ourselves as maybe one of the toughest tag teams ever to roll through Showdown...
Well, tonight's really where we determine the future, isn't it? Where we decide just how far we can really go. I'll see you out there, Kileas.
One way or another."

That's all she wrote for the Ascension. A wild, long night of action... and we have our New Year's Bash main event. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1189984144Youtube: youtu.be/xKSW7SShrMsQuick Results Jerome Harris won the tiebreaker Aishwarya Dhawan def. Priya Mallaya Blake Dynamite def. Amazon Kid Winter Fresh (Rin/Akira/Fresh) def. The Golden Ambush to become the NEW Phoenix Rising Trios Champions Listalva Anne Heyward def. Veronika Armstrong Team Todd def. Team Natasha Riccardo De Luca def. Riley Montgomery Sanya Markov def. Rey de la Carne to retain the Top Prospect Championship Kileas Kintelas and Winifred Wright def. Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav Victor Kintelas def. Selisha to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion Candace Monroe def. Kanjirin Tonorian to become the NEW Phoenix Rising World Champion Jerome Harris def. Kaito Arai to win the Grand Ascension! Write-ups Jerome Harris wasn't about to be denied the block victory a second time. And while it took a lot of work to get there, he seized his opportunity at the perfect moment: with Rafael Gallego forcing Mercedes Ortega to submit to a Scorpion Death Lock, Jerome pounced and stole Rafael's own finisher to take him out, and score the victory, going on to the tournament final. Once again, we got a glimpse of the ferocity that Aishwarya Dhawan could be capable of if focused enough. Priya just really couldn't find her footing here, and fell to her fellow Indian. As spectacular as expected. Amazon Kid and Blake Dynamite tore the house down early on, with a match every bit as high-flying and fast-paced as one would figure, brought to an end with a sharp counter by Blake into a double lotation moonsault to score the victory. A late addition to the card saw Proving Ground's trio of choice... Winter Fresh, plus Akira Ryusaki. The Ambush made a full loop of the shows as champions... but coming back to their own roster saw them come up short, and Fresh Suzuki would force a submission from Tiger to win the match and the Trios Championships. These two absolutely tore into each other, and makes one think how Queen Anne might do in the Evergreen environment. Regardless, she'd ultimately trap Veronika in the Crossface Chickenwing, and score a much-needed victory to help ease her frustrations from a less-than-successful tournament run. There would be no Concrete Pete miracle run this year. Todd Colton's team ran roughshod, primarily on the back of Urani Whitemist, and Todd himself would score two of his team's eliminations before Evergringo finished off the last one. A good effort from Block B, though. Wild clash of styles between Riccardo and Riley, but Riccardo's speed and agility proved the difference-maker... along with his underrated submission, which scored the decisive victory. Rey de la Carne gave Sanya Markov perhaps the toughest fight he's had as champion. The Russian was already coming off of a big win earlier in the night (one-half of the winning team in Butterfloor's Mystery Tag Tournament), and he wasn't about to be denied here... refusing to lose the Top Prospect Championship as he finally took down Rey after a brutally hard-fought match. The betrayal that everyone's known was coming sooner or later for over a year... finally happened tonight. And not even Firehawk was surprised by it, bringing backup to keep from being outnumbered. And yet, in the end, despite fighting to the bitter end, none of it seemed to matter. Kileas and Winifred still came out on top, still took down their hated rivals... and still made the statement they set out to make from the beginning. The alliance of convenience is over. The Silver and Black are back. And the Kintelas family may be stronger than ever before. Victor Kintelas had absolutely no intention of letting Selisha get anywhere in this match. He came into this with a ferocity that we don't often see from him, and captured the Pacific Northwest Championship, another title in his quickly-growing collection. Now a double-champion, though, can Victor keep up the pace of holding both this and the tag titles? After all the worry, all the struggles, all the trash-talking... there's really only one thing left. The match itself. Candace Monroe has had a wildly up-and-down run since winning the Phoenix Rising World Cup, but tonight, she put all of the pieces together... executed her gameplan to perfection, refused to let Kanjirin steamroll her, and scored what is easily the single biggest win of her career. The young Australian is now the World Champion... And at New Year's Bash, she'll be staring down another titanic powerhouse in Jerome Harris, who showed no signs that the earlier tiebreaker had taken anything out of him. If anything, this main event saw him look stronger than ever, ending Kaito Arai's perfect run and looking like a world-beater as he won the tournament and earned the right to fight in the main event at this year's New Year's Bash... for the World Championship.

Candace Monroe "It's taken a couple of days to really let this sink in. Feeling the weight of the championship, the thrill of actually pulling off the biggest win I'm likely to ever get in my life. People were counting me out from the day I won the World Cup... figured I never had a shot. I knew it was the case the whole time, and I know my record leading up to Thursday night wasn't exactly spotless. But I wasn't going to walk away without giving it the best fight I had in me. And I damn well gave it everything I had... turns out, that's enough. I know what's waiting for me at New Year's Bash. I know Jerome Harris is eager to leverage his Grand Ascension win into a World Championship.
I don't intend to roll over for you, or anyone else.
There's four Showdowns left this year before New Year's Bash, and I'm gonna appear on all four of them. I'm stepping into the ring against four Grand Ascension participants that deserve more time in the spotlight... and I want to see who's got what it takes. I'll face Jerome at New Year's Bash... and I intend to walk into the new year as World Champion. After that... well, we're gonna see just who steps up next. Kanjirin wants another go? Maybe I'll give him one. Earn your way back up and I'll show you that this wasn't a fluke." Kileas Kintelas "Congratulations. You saw it coming. I'm sure everyone did. But look at the result: it didn't change anything. You saw through my deception, brought your backup, brought your best to that ring, and just like always, you still failed. Every single time... every defeat we suffered as a team, every setback we were forced to endure, rests on your shoulders, and our match on Thursday only brought that further into focus. Success has always been my burden to bear. Never forget the last time we met as opposing teams... your storied championship reign alongside Rilantha De Nav came to an end at our hands.
I said before that night that it would be the beginning of a new era. This was only the beginning. We don't stop with just myself and Winifred... no, we will rise higher than ever before. The future belongs to the Kintelas family. And one way or another... those who have turned aside will soon see the error of their ways.
Before long... you'll be outnumbered. Outmatched. And the world will finally see Firehawk Sentarl for what he is: a relic of the past."

A message from Universal Combat Shoot Style to Candace Monroe Dangerous Nicholas Alger: You done well. Real well. You did what it took. Real proud of you, you're like family. And one thing about Algers, or honorary Algers...we don't quit. We keep going until we get it. And you got it.
---
Thiago Gracie: Is no bad, win belt. Catch ok, leglock ok, no armbar, but win is win. Now maybe Limbtaker fight Thiago Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for more belt...but for now, no worry for that, fun is winning, winning is fun. Have fun for win.
---
Aoife Daley: That was a very strong victory, one you can be proud of! But don't listen to Gracie, you know if you want a shot at those tag belts, you've gotta go through your old friend Leona and I first! Don't take it easy just because you won something! If you're a real fighter, this is where you really get going!
---
Ruthless Nicole Alger: Yeah, yeah. Everyone else, shut up, already. Candace. I know how hard you worked. I know how much you sacrificed. Every time they say you're just a tag wrestler. Just going to peak at midcard. Not the sort of pro wrestler they want to give the shots to. Just too small to beat the big giants. We've been through a lot. I know how frustrated you got. We lose matches, you lose matches. Felt like you just spin your wheels, no matter how hard you trained. Know Alex busted your ass before we even met. Know you put in serious time in the family gym. Know you and I sparred for hours, pushed each other hard. Now who's saying you're not championship quality? That's right. You showed them all wrong. You showed yourself it was worth it. Maybe I'm a bit jealous. But it's a good kind. Makes me want to get better. Want to get as good as you. You beat Kanjirin, why can't I beat Walid?
RNA: But that's not the deal right now. The deal right now is that you're the best in this place. Nobody's ever taking your name away from that list. Nobody's ever questioning if you had what it took again. Remember that, every time the next challenger seems too big. The next time the hype builds behind someone else. Tell yourself that. It's the truth. And you better stay hungry now. Because you know you gotta make them all remember. Don't let them forget!

So, just to see about hitting the ground running before we get back on the usual schedule... let's do another Valkyrie Pro. Valkyrie Pro Episode 4 Tina Remington vs. Kiana Yamazaki
Ruthless Nicole Alger vs. Virginia Caldwell, #1 Contender for the Valkyrie Pro Shoot Championship
Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe vs. The Bryant Sisters
Kaede Takeda vs. Xiu Mei Li
Empress Fenix vs. Andrea Hawke
Kroll vs. Kylie Anderson
Lily Lyons and Amanda Skye vs. The Yoshida Twins
Telan Kintelas vs. Tomiko Takeda
Hollywood Hana vs. Priya Mallaya We open this episode with a clash of technical prowess, as Tina Remington and Kiana Yamazaki both look for a statement victory. We've seen what these two are capable of, but Tina's certainly had the better run as of late, and it may prove an uphill battle for Yamazaki... One of these two will earn a shot at current champion Brady Quinn whenever episode 5 happens... it may be a response by Valkyrie Pro to try and give RNA, the other member of the Limbtakers, a shot at coming away with gold herself after Candace Monroe became World Champion at the Grand Ascension last week. Virginia Caldwell, however, despite still being an Academy talent, has shown just how dangerous she can be in the ring... could she score the upset of a lifetime over Alger? In Melody Bryant's time with the Academy, she only ever got to team up with her sister, Anna, once. She'll finally get another opportunity to do so, two years after the last time it happened, and together the Bryant sisters will square off with Fox and Wolfe, in a match that's certain to be a spectacular showcase for both teams. Can Melody keep up with the more senior talents in the ring? Xiu Mei Li's official return will be right here against Kaede Takeda. Out of action for a few months, we had a bit of an unofficial showing at the Ascension... but this is the real deal. The Rising Storm is back in action, and rumor has it that they're both looking to come back with plenty of new firepower to work with... Phoenix vs. phoenix, as Andrea Hawke steps across the ring from Empress Fenix for the first time. The two were partners on a previous Valkyrie Pro card, but now Hawke will square off with the spectacular luchadora... and this could set the stage for a full Phantom Wings appearance down the line, as well. Raw power set to collide... two of Valkyrie Pro's strongest members clash as Kroll and Kylie Anderson look to assert themselves as the dominant powerhouse of the fed. Both have only a single loss to their name thus far on the past three Valkyrie Pro cards: Kylie to Tomiko Takeda, and Kroll to Kaede Takeda. But which one will pull ahead here? The other bit of tag action sees the team that might be considered the fed's signature duo in Lily and Amanda stepping into the ring with former Proving Ground tag champs, the Yoshida Twins. The Yoshidas have been looking for a rebound victory since dropping the titles to the Excellent Blades... could this be the moment for them to get back on track? Telan Kintelas clearly did not take kindly to the way Tomiko Takeda's match played out last episode. With Tomiko hardly allowing Aria Kintelas a foothold in the match, Telan has stepped in, with an effort to remind Tomiko just who's in charge... and whose reality this is. Closing out the night: well, Valkyrie Pro has gotten a major name for the main event, none other than Hollywood Hana. And quite simply put, if this wasn't the main event, then... well, we wouldn't have Hollywood Hana at all. It's the first "official" sighting of the immensely popular star in a very, very long time, and among the Valkyrie Pro roster... there was no better choice to face her than Priya Mallaya, who's been making a huge name for herself everywhere she appears. But can she hold up to the incredible fame and fortune that comes with being Hollywood?

"Phoenix Rising -- How was that for a statement? Are you listening now? Mercedes Ortega, Rafael Gallegos - I'll give you props. You're both good... but not good enough. Hey, Raf, I wasn't gonna forget that fluke loss slide by after you drove the back of my head into a steel chair, and I gotta say, using your own finisher to put an end to your miracle run was totally worth it. And Kaito Arai... You've earned your reputation in Japan. You're one of the best. You showed it all through B Block. ... But, you're not hungry enough. Me, though, I'm starving for an opportunity to be more than just 'Big in Japan' - I wanna be the king of the whole goddamn world!
"I know Firehawk Sentarl was looking for strong talent from all over. Of course he was, that's why me, Arai, Amazon Kid, and Aishwarya got the call. But he should've known that he made what you literary folks'd call a 'Faustian bargain.' He got the best in the world. And now, the best in the world is gonna take payment for the favor paid to him. And when I take my payment, I'm gonna paint this place in my colors - give it a fresh coat of paint. It's only fair, given the alternative when I came in was someone who wanted to cover this place in a pure golden shower.
"When I came in, I was expecting to have to deal with a guy like Kanjirin, his bag boy Kyle, and that crazy chick Mallory. Of course my main goal would be to add an accolade to my list of 'em, another gold strap to hang in my living room, but taking out a stuck-up prick like Kanjirin Tonorian woulda been a real fringe benefit. Nothing like showing someone who thinks they're hot shit that they're just plain shit. But, it looks like, for all his talk of running this place, he was a paper tiger, one that got burned up by Candace Monroe's flame. And really, I gotta give her respect for having that champ-level fire," he says, with a slow clap.
"... It's just too bad I'm gonna snuff out that flame in just two short months, and take that belt for myself. See, I've gotten my fill of Japanese gold. Not to say it's second-rate, far from it. But I need something new to satiate my gold addiction, and I gotta say, that world championship is looking extremely nice. So, hey. Enjoy your reign while you can, Candace. Bask in the glory that comes from being at the top of your game. Brush up your ground game a little more, while you're at it. You really should keep yourself sharp, 'cause you'll need to give 1,000% to deal with me. And even then, I assure you: it won't be enough. When the ball drops, when people are poppin' the corks on their Dom Perignon, and we're all ushering in another new year, that belt is gonna be around the waist of Jerome. Fuckin'. Harris."

Wild night with a lot of really, really fun matches. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1196423195Youtube: youtu.be/AR0VkRT6iEIQuick Results Kiana Yamazaki def. Tina Remington Ruthless Nicole Alger def. Virginia Caldwell The Bryant Sisters def. Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe Kaede Takeda def. Xiu Mei Li Andrea Hawke def. Empress Fenix Kroll def. Kylie Anderson Lily Lyons and Amanda Skye def. The Yoshida Twins Telan Kintelas def. Tomiko Takeda Hollywood Hana def. Priya Mallaya Bonus: Kojiro Burai def. HAYATO Write-ups A seriously hot opener that saw Kiana Yamazaki having to work from behind, fighting hard to come back against Tina Remington with her usual array of flash pins, until she managed to snap off a Dragon Sleeper from behind to score the stunning victory. Against a more experienced opponent, Virginia Caldwell still managed to hold her own, remarkably so. It was a wild fight for three rounds, the fourth proving to be the big one as the fight truly took off from there: knockdowns flew, but RNA would ultimately get the upper hand in a series of matwork that resulted in her trapping Virginia to finish the job with her striking. Amazingly enough, with as long as it had been since the last time the sisters had teamed up... they still looked like an incredible duo together, with Anna and Melody reeling off some impressive double-team work, and eventually coming away with the victory when Anna snapped off a quick flash pin counter. We've gotten a solid glimpse at just how dangerous the Rising Storm might be going forward. Although Xiu didn't win this match, she certainly showed an exceptionally devastating array of strikes in the process against Kaede Takeda... who remains easily one of Valkyrie Pro's top names. Andrea Hawke finally got a singles victory in her own fed. She cut off a major comeback to do it, landing a Superkick out of nowhere to score the win, and now may be looking to set up a major trios match next time out: the Phantom Wings vs. Hawke herself, alongside Fox and Wolfe. An absolute slugfest of a match... but make no mistake, that sort of match favors Kroll perhaps more than anyone in Valkyrie Pro, and she landed her Devil Destroyer triple powerbomb combo to score a huge victory. A huge victory for Lily and Amanda here, scoring the win over a very well-rounded duo from Proving Ground, former champions no less. Amanda's finishing sequence was a wild frenzy, and the Valkyrie Pro team walks away better than ever. Call it Paternal Vengeance. Telan Kintelas came storming into this match determined to teach Tomiko Takeda a lesson, and he damn well did that, doing everything Tomiko can do but better. A crushing Spear gave him the win and made sure Tomiko isn't likely to mess with Aria again anytime soon. Everyone knows what you're gonna get with these two. Priya's flashy offense combined with her surprising ferocity when the match is at stake, against Hollywood Hana's vicious streak and cheating ways... the latter came out ahead, though, culminating in her cranking Priya back into a brutal submission for the win. We've seen a lot of Kojiro Burai ahead of his "official" debut coming up on Showdown in two weeks (well, a week and a half). And we also have yet to see him lose. Here against HAYATO, we saw the qualities that made him an Ace in Japan, holding strong against HAYATO's early offense to come right back and ultimately, countered a HAYATO attempt in the corner to land his spectacular moonsault to score the win.

We're back to the grind. Monday night, Proving Ground makes its return in a post-Ascension world. Proving Ground Episode 87 Ziggy Rockefeller vs. Golden Tiger
Rafael Gallego vs. Riccardo De Luca, Top Prospect Qualifier
White Hot vs. Winter Fresh
Aria Kintelas vs. Jessika Boom, Inspire Contender's Tournament
Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr. vs. Harley Brooks, Top Prospect Qualifier
Adrenaline Rush vs. La Familia
Mercedes Ortega vs. SATOMI, Inspire Contender's Tournament
"Wild" Wes Wrangler vs. Nick MacLeod, Top Prospect Qualifier
The Excellent Blades vs. The Golden Ambush We kick off a wild scramble towards New Year's Bash with plenty to look forward to: first, our opener seeing Ziggy Rockefeller, hot off of a Wrestle Parade victory last week, coming back to Proving Ground aiming to keep his momentum rolling against Golden Tiger. But make no mistake, this won't be an easy matchup: not against a former Top Prospect, flukey as his win over Sanya might have been. Over the course of the next three Proving Ground episodes, the Top Prospect division will hold a series of eight qualifier matches: each victory holding an entry into an 8-man battle royal on the fourth and final Proving Ground leading up to New Year's Bash. Rafael Gallego and Riccardo De Luca will pit speed against speed... but can Rafael keep up with a red-hot Riccardo, even after both men fared very, very well in the Ascension? White Hot is looking for that big win to catapult them to the top: and what better way to prove themselves than by taking on two-thirds of the reigning Trios Champions? Winter Fresh scored huge at the Ascension, knocking off the Golden Ambush and ending a dominant run with the titles... and now, they might have their sights set on Proving Ground gold as well. Both teams want a shot at the Blades... but who's going to get it? While the Top Prospect sets up for a battle royal, the Inspire division will go more straightforward with an 8-woman tournament, and it kicks off right here with Aria Kintelas taking on Jessika Boom, a classic power vs. speed matchup. Aria's raw power has shown itself on more than one occasion here on Proving Ground... and Jessika will have to stay alert to avoid getting speared straight to hell. The Top Prospect division qualifiers won't just be between Proving Ground's own... there aren't nearly enough on the roster for that. Phoenix Rising reached out to four different feds requesting their best and brightest... and from TIPWF, Proving Ground got an answer in 4-H. The young Comanche talent will find himself against an equally-raw, equally-blue-chip talent in Harley Brooks... and this could be a serious showcase of power between the two. Another pair of teams in the hunt to challenge new champions the Excellent Blades... Adrenaline Rush and La Familia are both looking for a huge win here, one that could set the stage for a wild showdown with the new champs. We've seen just how dangerous all four men in this match can be... but who will be the deciding force in this matchup? Mercedes Ortega had a spectacular run in the Ascension, coming up just short of the Block A victory after running into Jerome Harris and Rafael Gallego in the tiebreaker. It's easy to see why she's got a shot in the Inspire contender's tournament... but SATOMI, still seething after a frustrating loss to Ryo Harada on Friday's Sakura Pro, will no doubt be in a foul mood and looking to level the New Haven Natural... From Wrestle Parade's Wild Arms stable, a group that AFW has already found familiarity with... it's "Wild" Wes Wrangler, looking to make an impact in the Top Prospect qualifiers. Standing in the big man's way is Nick MacLeod, and the Scot isn't likely to step aside for the Wrestle Parade stalwart... Closing out the night, the Excellent Blades seek to make this match a victory lap of sorts. Having already scored a win in their first match as champions elsewhere (a win over Wrestle Parade Color Guard Champions, Adrenaline Rush), they come back to Proving Ground to take on the Golden Ambush... themselves frustrated over losing the Trios Championships to Winter Fresh. Can Tigress and Reina del Tigre pull off a victory here and cement themselves as contenders to the titles, or will the Blades prove once and for all that their era has finally arrived?

Wild night of action that gets us back into the swing of things. Proving Ground continues to be a highlight reel every night. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1200301387Youtube: youtu.be/846X9HPw5DsQuick Results Ziggy Rockefeller def. Golden Tiger Rafael Gallego def. Riccardo De Luca Winter Fresh def. White Hot Aria Kintelas def. Jessika Boom Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr. def. Harley Brooks La Familia def. Adrenaline Rush Mercedes Ortega def. SATOMI Nick MacLeod def. "Wild" Wes Wrangler The Excellent Blades def. The Golden Ambush Bonus: HAYATO def. Hugo Dirksen Write-ups Ziggy Rockefeller erupted straight out of the gate, determined to prove that he belongs as part of the field for the Top Prospect qualifiers. And after this showing? There's absolutely no question. Golden Tiger just could not keep up, not for a second. Someone finally managed to keep pace with Riccardo De Luca, and to little surprise, it was Rafael Gallego that did it. Riccardo never quite seemed to get up to full speed until late, and Rafael showed that his Ascension run was no fluke, pulling off an impressive win. Two teams that both have a case to be made for being Proving Ground's "iconic" tag team... but Winter Fresh remains one of the best there is, and they simply outpaced White Hot in the end, with Rin Ryusaki throwing a flurry of offense to finish the job in the end. For much of this match, Jessika Boom seemed to be in the driver's seat. She had everything going her way... but Aria Kintelas's patience ran out, and she set the stage for a brutal Spear... that Jessika kicked out of. Undaunted, Aria set up a second Kintelas Spear, and this one sealed the victory, an impressive comeback for Aria. This was quite the brawl, but the TIPWF up-and-comer eventually took the upper hand, showing just why he's regarded so highly as part of the Cogburn Ranch back home. This was an exceptional showing for 4-H, but don't discount Harley Brooks here: he held his own for most of the match. Simply put, this was exceptional, with both teams displaying tremendous teamwork throughout. But it'd be Rey de la Carne that jumped out ahead, finishing off the match in impressive fashion with one of his wild submissions, and La Familia makes their case for a Proving Ground Tag Team Championship match. Mercedes Ortega continues a blistering run as of late, coming off of her Grand Ascension run by taking down SATOMI. A victory here sends her to the Inspire tournament semifinals... where she'll meet Aria Kintelas. The final qualifier of the night was also easily the wildest match of the show. Nick MacLeod stepped in against "Wild" Wes Wrangler, and "finesse" was not on the table... this was a brawl, through and through, with both men throwing out everything they had against each other. Eventually, though, Wrangler's less-than-sober antics worked against him, and MacLeod landed a vicious Spear to win the match and earn his spot in the battle royal. Can anyone stop the new tag team champions? The Blades were on fire here, mostly dominant throughout this one, and made it very clear... now that they're champions, it's going to take a whole lot more to knock them down than ever before. One last extra match closed out the night, as HAYATO squared off with former Proving Ground member Hugo Dirksen. And for the most part, HAYATO was in charge, despite Hugo's armwork taking its toll... but HAYATO's submissions proved the better here, the Tachibana Super Special finishing the job.

Away we go to the return of AFW, with a new Spirit of Texas Champion after last month's Ascension... American Frontier Wrestling Episode 12 Sung Moon vs. Carmen Latour
Laura Tate vs. Allison Avery
The Marshall Sisters issue an open challenge
Hailey Comet vs. Lexi Dawson
Ian Robinson vs. Dominic Stanton
Lance Marshall vs. Manny Ramos vs. Mason Hayes vs. Jackson Shaw, #1 Contender's match for the Spirit of Texas Championship
Maya Minh Sai vs. Johnny Rocket
Georgia Eagles vs. Riley Montgomery
The Foundation vs. Ryan Donovan and Nathan Haines for the AFW Tag Team Championships Opening up the show this month, Sung Moon and Carmen Latour continue to quietly make a name for themselves, with Moon having picked up back-to-back victories over Maya Minh Sai over the last two shows. Now she sets her sights on Carmen, but can the Korean up-and-comer keep up with the Cajun Spitfire? Laura Tate's Ascension run ended in controversy when she was removed from the bracket for what was described as "unsportsmanlike conduct". Now returning to AFW, we'll see if she's learned her lesson at all against Allison Avery... if not, well, we may have a very, very big problem on our hands. The Marshall Sisters, after falling short of claiming the AFW Tag Team Championships, are still determined to prove themselves as AFW's top tag team. To that effect, they've issued an open challenge to any in AFW... or even the rest of the Phoenix Rising organization. Who will step up to take on the sisters? A guest spot from neighboring TIPWF... Hailey Comet comes over to Houston for a match in AFW, taking on Lexi Dawson in a match that could very easily steal the show with spectacular agility and speed. Lexi's got a big chance to prove herself here: can she measure up to the more experienced Comet? One can expect a hard-nosed brawl from these two, as Ian Robinson and Dominic Stanton clash, both looking to raise their stock in singles action while their respective tag partners hash out their current issues (not that Jackson Shaw being in a #1 contender's match is precisely an "issue".) Speaking of #1 contender's matches, one of these four men will be Ryan Donovan's first challenger as Spirit of Texas Champion. Lance Marshall won't simply give himself a rematch... he'll have to earn it the same as anyone else would, and against three of AFW's top names, can the former champion fight back and get a chance at reclaiming his title? Maya Minh Sai, the Cornerstone, has found herself struggling a fair bit as of late... and this might not help her skid much, as she's stepping in against none other than Johnny Rocket. Rocket's looking to bounce back after coming up short of entering the Grand Ascension (a spot taken by Sung Moon in the end). Does Maya have what it takes here? Riley Montgomery is nothing if not stubborn to a fault. She's always set her sights on the toughest opponents, much like her rival, Freya O'Malley... and while she hasn't shared Freya's success, it hasn't stopped her from stepping into the ring with powerhouses like Georgia Eagles. Regardless, Georgia isn't going to take this match lightly, and Riley will have to bring her best. Closing out the night, a match earned by the Foundation... the Academy stalwarts have cemented themselves as one of the premiere teams in the entire Phoenix Rising organization, and they'll aim to prove it more than ever right here against the seemingly-unstoppable champions. Nathan Haines and Ryan Donovan have been a force from day one... primarily on the back of Ryan's incredibly well-rounded offense. But make no mistake, Nathan is eager to prove himself after seeing Ryan take all the glory over this past year... but can they stop the surging Foundation?

A bit of an up-and-down night, but for the most part? The highs were more plentiful and way, way bigger. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1203080864Youtube: youtu.be/WZAQyKTnOigQuick Results Carmen Latour def. Sung Moon Laura Tate def. Allison Avery The Marshall Sisters def. The Rising Storm Lexi Dawson def. Hailey Comet Ian Robinson def. Dominic Stanton Manny Ramos def. Lance Marshall, Mason Hayes and Jackson Shaw to become #1 Contender for the Spirit of Texas Championship Johnny Rocket def. Maya Minh Sai Riley Montgomery def. Georgia Eagles Ryan Donovan and Nathan Haines def. The Foundation to retain the AFW Tag Team Championships Write-ups Carmen Latour continues to be a highlight reel on AFW, staying focused even when Sung Moon seemed to take the upper hand. But Carmen stayed in it and pulled off a hell of a victory in the opener. Perhaps Laura Tate hasn't entirely let go of her attitude issues. Fact is, though, that this match just never really got anywhere interesting. It's unlikely we'll see these two cross paths again. The Marshall Sisters wanted a challenge. They wanted the best. They got the Rising Storm and one of the toughest matches any tag team has gotten in a very long time. A wild brawl that crept closer to the 45-minute time limit than most matches ever tend to, Terra would finally finish this one with a vicious lariat to score a huge victory. Lexi Dawson was beyond impressive here against Hailey Comet, holding her own against a more experienced opponent and eventually landing a sharp Lightning Spiral before wrapping up a tight pin to take the victory. Likely a major, signature victory for Lexi. This was pretty much all Ian, although Dominic certainly gave it a fight. Still, Ian's raw power absolutely kept him ahead of the curve, and a crushing powerbomb put this one away in favor of the Rebel. Lance Marshall came within moments of pulling off a win and getting his rematch. But Manny Ramos has been looking and hunting for this opportunity almost since AFW opened its doors... and with a new Spirit of Texas Champion in play, Ramos might just have the best shot he's ever had. Ramos sets the stage for a huge matchup with Ryan Donovan next month... can he knock off the seemingly-unstoppable champion? Simply put, Maya Minh Sai was outmatched here. Johnny Rocket once again displayed why he's one of the best in the world today, and Maya, despite getting through a bit of her armwork, eventually got wiped out by Rocket's biggest combo, culminating in the Starship Voyage to finish the win. A match that many might have expected to go poorly for Riley Montgomery turned out to be one of the hardest-hitting brawls in recent memory. Georgia Eagles put her raw power on display throughout this match, but Riley just would not stop... then again, neither would Georgia, and it took a spectacular top-rope Exploder to finally put this one away, giving Riley a tremendous victory. Can anyone stop Ryan Donovan? Once again he was the source of his team's success, the man finishing the job... and not for lack of trying, but the Foundation just could not put this one away. Ryan landed a Widowmaker to finish this off and successfully complete their fourth defense as AFW tag champs... and the division's challengers are quickly running short.

Not gonna lie, I've been pretty out of it lately. For tonight I'll just toss up Monday's Showdown card and we'll get some previews up tomorrow, maybe. The new year might come with a small break, we'll see what happens. Showdown Episode 87 Silver Hawk vs. Besos
Alexandria Kirison and Markos Andreas vs. Kileas Kintelas and Winifred Wright
Celine Chevalier vs. La Relampaga
Kojiro Burai vs. Kellaron Sentarl
The Dynawasps vs. The Heyward Sisters
Todd Colton vs. Layla Al-Amin
Natasha Clover vs. Victor Kintelas for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Pure Gold (Kanjirin/Mallory/Kyle) vs. Les Beautes Blondes (Angel/Michelle/Revon)
Kaito Arai vs. Candace Monroe Kicking off the night, Pacific Northwest division action sees two Wrestle Parade crossover stars squaring off, with Silver Hawk and Besos almost guaranteed to put on a fantastic, fast-paced opener. The chances that this is going to disappoint are practically zero... and could set the tone for the night to come. One of the most dangerous tag teams in Phoenix Rising's history has reunited. After Kileas Kintelas backstabbed Firehawk Sentarl at the Grand Ascension, it seemed inevitable that these two would be back as a full-time team... but they can't be the only ones, as rumblings have been made about Kileas recruiting more under the Kintelas family banner. But with his own kids unwilling to stand beside him, just who will he bring into the fold? Les Beautes Blondes are back on the warpath. With Celine Chevalier the odd woman out for the Trios contender match this month, she'll instead aim to raise her stock in the Pacific Northwest division, trying to take home a victory over the Lightning Luchadora, La Relampaga. But could this be another dominant night for the Lightning Cyclones? We've waited long enough. This week, we'll see the proper, official Showdown debut of Kojiro Burai. We've already seen plenty of exhibitions with this Pure Gold newcomer, but now it's time to step out as a member of Pure Gold, a member of the Showdown roster... and take on one of Pure Gold's oldest enemies. Kellaron Sentarl would love to make a statement by beating Kojiro in his Showdown debut, but from what we've seen, that will not be an easy task. The Dynawasps are back in action, and as they once again seek the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships, they'll encounter another team looking for a surge of fortune. The Heyward Sisters look primed to get back into full-time tag action, and a win over the former champions would be a tremendous boost to their reputation... Todd Colton has not been a happy man over the course of 2021. Falling well short of a shot at the World Championship on multiple occasions, coming nowhere near a Grand Ascension victory, and simply just not living up to his reputation from previous years, we may be seeing a Todd Colton that's willing to do anything to get back on track... the Cairo Cyclone will have to be at her best, lest Todd remind the Phoenix Rising fanbase just how devastating he can be in the ring. Natasha Clover has been here more than a few times this year. Poised at the very top, looking to take her place as the Pacific Northwest Champion for a fourth time... but so many times now, she's fallen short. Now, against Victor Kintelas, she'll try once again to claim the title that she's insisted is hers, and hers alone... Two trios clash for a chance to take on the newest Trios Champions coming out of the Grand Ascension... with Winter Fresh now holding the titles, they'll either face off against a threat from the past, in Pure Gold, or a veteran Showdown presence in Les Beautes Blondes. Kanjirin, Mallory and Kyle will aim to overwhelm the French trio and reclaim some measure of momentum... still reeling from the loss of the World Championship. Finally, capping off the night, the first of Candace Monroe's showcase matches to celebrate her World Championship victory. She'll start her run up to New Year's Bash by taking on the Block B finalist, Kaito Arai... the runner-up of the Grand Ascension, Kaito was undefeated in block competition but ran into a wrecking ball named Jerome Harris in the finals... but make no mistake, Kaito is still perhaps the toughest opponent Candace is likely to face over the next month and a half, barring Jerome Harris himself waiting at the end of the road...

We got through the show 'cause the wind died down hours ago. Yay. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1206940338Youtube: youtu.be/rVDqoDh_9NIQuick Results Silver Hawk def. Besos Kileas Kintelas and Winifred Wright def. Alexandria Kirison and Markos Andreas Celine Chevalier def. La Relampaga Kellaron Sentarl def. Kojiro Burai The Heyward Sisters def. The Dynawasps Todd Colton def. Layla Al-Amin Victor Kintelas def. Natasha Clover to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Les Beautes Blondes def. Pure Gold Candace Monroe def. Kaito Arai Write-ups What else could you expect from an opener between these two? A great opener with plenty of action, seeing Silver Hawk come out ahead for the victory as he looks towards a potential shot at the Pacific Northwest Championship. The return of one of the most dominant tag teams ever to hold the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships bodes very, very poorly for the rest of the division. Kileas and Winifred picked up right where they left off the last time we saw them together... and that's extremely bad news for anyone who wants to be Tag Team Champions, including the current reigning champions, the GOAT. LBB's night started off somewhat quietly, albeit successfully, as Celine Chevalier kept pace with La Relampaga to pull off an impressive victory. A huge Tiger Suplex variation gave Celine a much-needed win, lifting her up the PNW rankings... could she be making a surge? The debut curse is real. Kojiro Burai had fought through multiple bonus matches with little issue, but Kellaron Sentarl proved a bit too much, spoiling the Pure Gold member's official debut, much to the frustration of leader Kanjirin Tonorian... who led Pure Gold into battle following the bell to pound away at the GOAT in retaliation. A tremendous showing from both teams... but it really feels like the Heyward Sisters are starting to find their footing as a team once again, taking down a truly impressive team that's held the tag titles once before. Lis shows no sign of the Ascension run bothering her, and the sisters just might have their sights set on the GOAT. Todd Colton, as well, finds himself bouncing back after a very, very rough Ascension run, picking up a much-needed victory against the Cairo Cyclone. This wasn't for lack of trying by Layla, but she just couldn't seal the win, coming up just short. Another attempt, another failure from Natasha Clover, who's suffered yet another demoralizing defeat in search of the Pacific Northwest Championship. This can't keep going, can it? Victor Kintelas cemented himself as champion with this win, especially after the beatdown by Pure Gold earlier in the night. Les Beautes Blondes closed their night in much the same way that they opened it: victorious. After Celine's win, the rest of the group set out to claim their spot as challengers for Winter Fresh's Trios Championships, and they may very well be in line to claim those titles if they can fight like they did here. Some people might've seen Candace's victory over Kanjirin as something of a fluke. But after tonight, it's unlikely that anyone thinks of Candace Monroe as anything less than a worthy World Champion. Kaito Arai, one of the fastest-rising stars in the world today, brought his best into the ring against the new champion... and Candace fired right back with her own offense, turning this into an all-out slugfest, seeing her steal the Emerald Driver at one point before ultimately taking down Kaito with a flying kick to score the victory and perhaps legitimize her reign right out of the gate.
