Jerome Harris"Look, it wasn't that I was taking Besos lightly on night one - Far from it. She actually took me damn near the distance, but in the end? She still ended up staring at the lights, just like everyone else who steps up to me. And like it or not, but I made that shit look good. But nah, no more dwelling on night one... I'm lookin' straight ahead at the next fool standin' in my way.
"And tomorrow night, it looks like it's... Rafael Gallegos next, huh. You called yourself a 'fire bird' in Spanish way beck when, or so I hear. Well, you didn't do half-bad Monday night... but there's a big difference between a little lucha guy like Evergringo, and a guy like me. You don't even have to look hard to see that I'm in a whole other league. So, hey, keep your chin up for another, oh, 24 hours or so. You might be flying high, but after tomorrow night, your flame's gonna be put out -- One more obstacle out of the way."

The Grand Ascension rolls along, and now we start to see who's looking to break away from the rest of the pack. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1170613611Youtube: youtu.be/Alhb0KgoSlwQuick Results Kaito Arai def. Sung Moon Rafael Gallego def. Jerome Harris Rebecca Andrews def. Katherine White Laura Tate def. Aishwarya Dhawan Ryan Donovan def. Lance Marshall to become the NEW Spirit of Texas Champion Listalva Anne Heyward def. Natasha Clover Mercedes Ortega def. El Evergringo Riccardo De Luca def. Amazon Kid Besos def. Todd Colton Write-ups Kaito Arai has started the Ascension red-hot, roaring out to a 2-0 start with this win over Sung Moon. Nothing fancy here, just a quickly-rising star making his name in another big-time tournament setting. A lot of bold words came from Jerome Harris ahead of this match, but Rafael Gallego was very quiet leading up to Night 2... he let his actions speak for him tonight, pushing through Harris's raw power to bring his speed and technique into play, scoring an incredible counter in the corner to score perhaps the most impressive win of the night. Rebecca Andrews bounced back big from her night 1 disaster, and halted the hot streak of Katherine White in the process. Despite Katherine trying to get under her opponent's skin by stealing the Go To Sleep, Rebecca fired right back, ultimately landing a brutal backdrop to seal the victory. Laura Tate came back to avoid an 0-2 start with this absolute roaring dominance over Aishwarya Dhawan, leading some to believe that her loss to Mercedes Ortega on Night 1 could've just been a fluke... but at any rate, she's far from out of the running after this massive win. Ryan Donovan made his threats, told the world what was going to happen tonight, made it clear that he was the single most dangerous challenger that Lance would ever face... and he backed it up. Despite Lance throwing what he could at Ryan, it just wasn't enough, and the Carolina Reaper just kept coming, eventually leveling Lance with the devastating kick that's taken out so many other AFW wrestlers, and becomes the first man ever to dethrone Lance as Spirit of Texas Champion. Ryan Donovan just might be the ultimate talent in all of AFW... one-half of the tag team champions, and now, Spirit of Texas Champion as well. Queen Anne has no intention of going out quietly. A fiercely competitive match with Kaito Arai on Night 1 started her off in the hole, but she took the fight straight to Natasha Clover here and never let up, finally getting her into the corner, smashing Natasha's face against the turnbuckle, and landing a huge SSP to get herself into the wins column. Mercedes Ortega remains perhaps the favorite to win Block A, if this keeps up. Tasked with Evergringo, she didn't even blink, hardly letting the Evergreen favorite get into this one before she'd locked in a Campana to finish the job and move to 2-0. They don't call him Perpetual Motion for nothing. Riccardo De Luca just keeps getting better, and while Amazon Kid gave this a solid fight, a Rolling Thunder from Riccardo settled it, and put the Proving Ground star on the fast-track to the top... can anyone slow this man down? Todd Colton's quest to reach the Ascension finals again just ran into one hell of a roadblock. Besos had absolutely no intention of letting herself slip into a 0-2 hole, and was electric as she kept up a blistering pace, never letting Todd quite pull away even through his usual repertoire of armwork. A quick flash roll-up counter sealed it, and Besos sends Todd home frustrated for the night.

Before we jump to the card... some words from one of the men who will be a part of Monday's extra non-tournament match: "There's certainly been a little bit of speculation on just what the match for Night 3 is going to be. But by the fact that you're hearing from me... you can at least guess one-half of the equation.
For a long time, I felt like I needed to step aside. My time was over, I've done all I needed to do, there was no sense in me taking up time better given to younger, more athletic, rising stars over a man that's lost more than just a step over a career that's spanned three decades. Evergreen, though... somehow, Evergreen's become the site of a career revival for me, fighting alongside Argent, becoming Evergreen Tag Team Champions, and tearing things up like I was twenty years younger again.
But there's something that's been in the back of my mind for a few months now. A certain challenge that I feel like I have no choice but to issue. When it comes to the career of a wrestling giant... you're lucky if you ever meet someone else the same size, someone capable of looking you in the eye and giving you a real fight on equal ground. There's never been another giant anywhere I've worked. People come close... even right now, Logan Axelrod's a titan among the rest of the roster, not to mention the demon trio... but none of them are quite there. None of them can stand in front of me and have people see us as 'equals'.
When it comes right down to it... there's only one man in the world today that can do that much. He knows it. I know it. The rest of the world should know it as well. An unstoppable force, a monster among monsters, an apocalyptic engine of destruction.
And I have never desired a match more than this one.
I know the sort of person you are. I know that you won't allow anyone to tell you otherwise. You'll accept this challenge. Monday night. Night 3 of the Grand Ascension. Come to the ring alone. That is my only demand.
It's high time the two of us crossed paths and shook the world to its core. Binak Tonorian... versus Colossus Rhodes." Grand Ascension Night 3 Rafael Gallego (2-0) vs. Todd Colton (1-1)
Riccardo De Luca (2-0) vs. Listalva Anne Heyward (1-1)
Mercedes Ortega (2-0) vs. Jerome Harris (1-1)
Sung Moon (0-2) vs. Rebecca Andrews (1-1)
Bonus: Binak Tonorian vs. Colossus Rhodes
Laura Tate (1-1) vs. El Evergringo (0-2)
Kaito Arai (2-0) vs. Natasha Clover (1-1)
Aishwarya Dhawan (0-2) vs. Besos (1-1)
Katherine White (1-1) vs. Amazon Kid (0-2) As the tournament rolls on, the front-runners are starting to emerge... but a lot can change here on Night 3. All four undefeated wrestlers have matches with opponents sitting at 1-1, all four looking to even the score with the undefeated... but can they pull it off? Each of the 2-0 crew has a remarkably tough match ahead of them, and don't forget the winless as well, seeking to fight their way back into contention. Anything is possible on this night. In addition... a match so colossal, so apocalyptic that it could only happen during one of the biggest events of the year. Binak Tonorian has issued one hell of a challenge towards Colossus Rhodes... and what's more, it's entirely likely that Midas Matthews won't even be allowed through the doors. No interference... no distractions. Just the two men who define the word "giant" in the world today... does Binak Tonorian truly have what it takes, at his age, to stop the unstoppable, to hold out against Golden Touch's monstrous champion?

Three nights down and the favorites are steadily taking shape. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1174410788Youtube: youtu.be/neKlkkinv5gQuick Results Todd Colton def. Rafael Gallego Riccardo De Luca def. Listalva Anne Heyward Jerome Harris def. Mercedes Ortega Rebecca Andrews def. Sung Moon Binak Tonorian def. Colossus Rhodes Laura Tate def. El Evergringo Kaito Arai def. Natasha Clover Besos def. Aishwarya Dhawan Amazon Kid def. Katherine White Write-ups Todd Colton came into this looking to re-establish himself at the top of Block A, and he did just that, knocking off Rafael Gallego's undefeated record and giving us probably one of the hottest openers of the tournament thus far. This match started a bit of a snowball effect, as we later found out. Riccardo De Luca is still red-hot, and it's entirely possible that there's not anyone in the tournament that can stop him. Not even Queen Anne could really get anything going here... As good as Mercedes Ortega is, the raw power of Jerome Harris once again proved too much in the end... even as he perhaps toyed with his opponent for a little too long, along with Mercedes managing to avoid the devastating MADE IN JAPAN for most of the match before finally falling victim. Sung Moon continues to struggle here, though Rebecca Andrews was on fire, simply making it difficult to keep up. The Go To Sleep didn't finish it, the Anaconda Vice didn't quite settle it, but a big-time Superman Punch finally sealed it for Rebecca. This colossal matchup lived up to expectations... with both men meeting someone that could match them face-to-face. Colossus, for once, encountered a man he couldn't simply steamroll... and Binak, veteran that he is, eventually fought through to come out on top with a thunderous Ax Guillotine Driver, sending the entire massive weight of Colossus down head-first to score a tremendous victory. Laura Tate continues to be a pure wrecking ball in the ring, and outside of a rough start against Mercedes, she's looked absolutely incredible. Evergringo just couldn't get it going here. Kaito Arai is the real deal, there's simply no doubt about it. Now sitting at 3-0, the meteoric rise of the Sakura Pro star might wind up culminating in a huge shot by the end of the tournament... if he can keep this pace up. Besos had to work from behind for a lot of this match, especially with Dhawan coming roaring out of the gate. But she made a huge comeback, bringing her technical ability along with BESOS to eventually fight her way back in... and landing a huge springboard rana to take the victory. The Amazon Kid is on the board. Katherine White gave it one hell of a ride, but it's starting to look like she very well might be outmatched in the long run... and the Kid was at his best tonight, coming out on top and finally picking up a victory, leaving Block B still wide open.

Jerome Harris: "Heh, maybe I need to rethink things a bit? Don't get me wrong. I enjoy fights where I'm pushed to the edge. But between that match with Rafael where he just barely squeaked by by almost givin' me a damn concussion, and this last match, maybe I'm not really showing my killer instinct? Ah, whatever. A win's a win, and with that I'm right back on track. The way I see it, I've beat 2 of the other 4 people crowded up top of A Block. Besos couldn't stop me, and Mercedes Ortega couldn't stop me, and I still got another 4 matches to go to wrap things up in my favor. You can say it's anybody's race to win, but pure and simple, it's my race to win.
"And I hope everyone watchin' that last match in the back knows that if I get you in my 'Made In Japan,' they're gonna be puttin' a tag on your toe when they drag you outta the ring. I don't care who I'm up against next - the lucha guy, the Indian lady, the guy who can't keep his mouth shut, the freaky Amazon bitch - I'll put all y'all down! Count on it."

Night four arrives on Thursday night, and the brackets are still wide open. Not to mention, we've also got a defense of the Pacific Northwest Championship... Grand Ascension Night Four Listalva Anne Heyward (1-2) vs. Katherine White (1-2)
El Evergringo (0-3) vs. Aishwarya Dhawan (0-3)
Amazon Kid (1-2) vs. Sung Moon (0-3)
Besos (2-1) vs. Rafael Gallego (2-1)
Bonus: Mascara Avispa vs. Selisha for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Natasha Clover (1-2) vs. Riccardo De Luca (3-0)
Todd Colton (2-1) vs. Mercedes Ortega (2-1)
Rebecca Andrews (2-1) vs. Kaito Arai (3-0)
Jerome Harris (2-1) vs. Laura Tate (2-1) We have clear front-runners in Block B in Kaito Arai and Riccardo De Luca... but Block A is a wild snarl of a six-way tie, as things remain fiercely competitive. Meanwhile, Mascara Avispa finally has a shot at reclaiming the title that slipped through his grasp months ago against Lance Marshall... can he get back to the top of the division and take down the seemingly-unstoppable Naga Queen?

Four nights down, the halfway point's been reached. Block A is still wide open, while Block B seems to be narrowing fast. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1177144310Youtube: youtu.be/6rpnJLJ0CbwQuick Results Listalva Anne Heyward def. Katherine White El Evergringo def. Aishwarya Dhawan Amazon Kid def. Sung Moon Rafael Gallego def. Besos Selisha def. Mascara Avispa to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Riccardo De Luca def. Natasha Clover Mercedes Ortega def. Todd Colton Kaito Arai def. Rebecca Andrews Laura Tate def. Jerome Harris
Bonus Evergreen Tag Match: The Bingo Hall Mutants def. The Sheridan Brothers Write-ups We might just be getting a resurgence from Queen Anne before all is said and done, though with how tough the competition in Block B is going to be going forward, she'll have to stay sharp over the last three nights. Katherine gave this one a good fight, but couldn't keep up in the end. Evergringo typically has about one legitimately solid match in him a month, and this might've been it. He erupted out of the gate and never let up, silencing the L-Pro rookie and making it abundantly clear that the rest of the block underestimates him at their peril. Sung Moon just can't get any traction, falling short against Amazon Kid here, who was very much on top of his game, landing multiple Safari Splashes en route to a very impressive win. A very, very competitive match that saw both sides trying to outdo the other in any way possible... but in the end, Rafael came out just that little bit ahead, scoring a flash rollup to take the win and stay on track at the head of the block. What more is there to say here? This match was absolutely spectacular from start to finish, with two of Phoenix Rising's finest squaring off for the Pacific Northwest Championship... and the fact that neither is a homegrown talent didn't hinder things one bit. Selisha won out in the submission battle, but a rematch between these two could easily go the other way without any doubt. Still, Selisha remains champion for at least another two weeks... with Victor Kintelas in line to challenge during the Ascension finals. Riccardo's basically being ordered to tone it the hell down. Urgh. Mercedes Ortega may very well be the surprise of the tournament thus far. She's held her own against every single opponent she's faced, and with only a single loss thus far to her name (against the powerhouse Jerome Harris), it's looking more and more likely that she might just make her way to the final... but can she keep it up? She had to score a flash pin over Todd Colton here after enduring nearly everything he had to throw at her... Rebecca Andrews threw everything into this match. Trying to knock off the undefeated Sakura Pro star, she put every bit of effort into trying to keep him down, but it just wasn't enough in the end, and Kaito would land a Tigerdriver that transitioned into the Cloverleaf, forcing the submission but leaving Rebecca looking incredibly tough in the process. Laura Tate might just be an unstoppable beast. Her one stumbling block against Mercedes Ortega could be easily forgotten by now, as she's been absolutely destructive since... but can she keep that rolling against her last three opponents, each of which have some major technical ability? They asked for a bonus match from Evergreen. Mercy was clearly feeling all kinds of vindictive despite the Sheridans losing their last match as well, but clearly it wasn't enough to lose to Oakland's Most Metal... she had to throw the Bingo Hall Mutants at them. You all know how that ended without even looking at the pic.

Grand Ascension Night 5 El Evergringo (1-3) vs. Jerome Harris (2-2)
Katherine White (1-3) vs. Natasha Clover (1-3)
Aishwarya Dhawan (0-4) vs. Rafael Gallego (3-1)
Sung Moon (0-4) vs. Listalva Anne Heyward (2-2)
Y-Pac vs. Heather Wild for the Academy Championship
Laura Tate (3-1) vs. Todd Colton (2-2)
Rebecca Andrews (2-2) vs. Amazon Kid (2-2)
Mercedes Ortega (3-1) vs. Besos (2-2)
Kaito Arai (4-0) vs. Riccardo De Luca (4-0) Monday night as usual, Night 5 of the Ascension, as the two undefeated leaders of Block B square off in a match that could easily decide the fate of the block. Your extra match for this night: the Blackwood Academy steps in, with Heather Wild's first defense of the Academy Championship since winning it from Tara Helmsley last month. Y-Pac normally wouldn't get this opportunity, being part of the current Academy Tag Team Champions... but with Rule XXX holding those titles as technically a trio, she's got a chance to bring the Academy Championship back to the group and put Rule XXX firmly at the top of the Academy ladder.

Just two nights left before the final. Who's got what it takes by now? Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1180842778Youtube: youtu.be/XpZsnjD0qAcQuick Results Jerome Harris def. El Evergringo Katherine White def. Natasha Clover Aishwarya Dhawan def. Rafael Gallego Sung Moon def. Listalva Anne Heyward Heather Wild def. Y-Pac to retain the Academy Championship Laura Tate def. Todd Colton Amazon Kid def. Rebecca Andrews Mercedes Ortega def. Besos Kaito Arai def. Riccardo De Luca Bonus: Victoria Fox def. Xiu Mei Li Write-ups Well, Evergringo certainly tried to hold out, but his late strategy of trying to go to the outside and get the upper hand that way only wound up backfiring horrifically, with Jerome Harris staying firmly in control before crushing Evergringo with MADE IN JAPAN back in the ring. Natasha came roaring out of the gate, but never quite sealed it, with Katherine White fighting back into a huge comeback that culminated in a diving senton to score the victory. Aishwarya Dhawan is finally on the board, and in a big way, as she finally put all the pieces together of her brutal moveset to crush Rafael Gallego and finally get rid of that 0 in the wins column. Sung Moon was the only other wrestler in the tournament without a win to her name yet... and clearly, she wanted to change that immediately, as she went all-out on Listalva and landed a crushing knee strike to score the win. Heather Wild refused to let her second reign with the Academy Championship end as quickly as her first one did. That said, Y-Pac definitely made this one a fight, but Heather simply had more in the tank this time around. Next in line is Josie Wilde... Heather's own tag team partner. But will Josie be willing to take that step, much like Jessica Kimblee has done before her? Laura Tate continues to be a monster in the ring. With only a single loss to Mercedes Ortega, Laura's been a wrecking ball ever since and refused to give an inch to anyone... not even Todd Colton here, who just couldn't get out of the starting gates. This was a sprint. Short, yes, but action-packed from start to finish, with Rebecca trying to bring the Kid down with the Go To Sleep, only for him to just come right back, eventually landing a standing High Fly Flow to bring Rebecca down for the win. Probably the best match of the night, with Besos and Mercedes going all-out to steal the show. Mercedes, however, has consistently been one of the best in the tournament, and it was no different here, as she ultimately scored big with a facebuster and snapped Besos up for the pin. Riccardo didn't need to bring it down that much. Kaito simply steamrolled him and that's the end of Riccardo's undefeated run. We got an extra match that saw the return of Xiu Mei Li to the ring in a tune-up match, before her proper return next month. We saw plenty of new offense from Xiu, but Victoria Fox came out ahead in the end after landing a vicious Spear to score the pin.

Night 6 comes in on Thursday, and then we've only got one week left to go. And now I realize I have to start thinking about what comes next. Grand Ascension Night 6 Natasha Clover (1-4) vs. Sung Moon (1-4)
Besos (2-3) vs. Laura Tate (4-1)
Listalva Anne Heyward (2-3) vs. Rebecca Andrews (2-3)
Todd Colton (2-3) vs. El Evergringo (1-4)
Top Prospect Battle Royal (Arthur Wright vs. HAYATO vs. Ziggy Rockefeller vs. Nick MacLeod vs. Rey de la Carne)
Riccardo De Luca (4-1) vs. Katherine White (2-3)
Rafael Gallego (3-2) vs. Mercedes Ortega (4-1)
Amazon Kid (3-2) vs. Kaito Arai (5-0)
Jerome Harris (3-2) vs. Aishwarya Dhawan (1-4) This time, we've got a big match that'll add to finals night: a Top Prospect #1 contender's battle royal. The winner of these five men will go on to the final night of the tournament to challenge Sanya Markov for the Top Prospect Championship... and make no mistake, this will be a fierce battle to the finish, all for the right to challenge one of the most frighteningly powerful champions in Proving Ground history. Good luck to all of them.

Bit of a major development coming out of this one, so let's get it out of the way before we go into the VoDs and results: Laura Tate is being removed from the tournament. Out-of-universe it's because I've somehow made so many tremendously stupid decisions in the making of her edit that it's just beyond unfair to let her dominate the block. It's absolutely ridiculous, it's unacceptable, and it's entirely my own fault. For an in-universe explanation, she's being sent home for reasons of poor sportsmanship and attitude issues. Simply put: Phoenix Rising isn't likely to do business with her again unless there's a major change in the future, and that is going to take time. As a result, all of Laura's match results have been wiped from the record in Block A, and she will not be appearing on Night 7's card or the finals. Rafael Gallego, who was scheduled to face her on that night, will instead get an exhibition match with Urani Whitemist as consolation. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1183515390Youtube: youtu.be/5ZWmgwgX5_EQuick Results Natasha Clover def. Sung Moon Laura Tate def. Besos (but it doesn't matter) Listalva Anne Heyward def. Rebecca Andrews El Evergringo def. Todd Colton Rey de la Carne won the battle royal Riccardo De Luca def. Katherine White Rafael Gallego def. Mercedes Ortega Kaito Arai def. Amazon Kid Jerome Harris def. Aishwarya Dhawan Bonus: Kojiro Burai def. Markos Andreas Write-ups Despite the fact that both Natasha and Sung Moon are way, way out of the running in Block B, they didn't show it in this opener, which immediately set the tone as one of the best matches of the tournament. This one was intense, and Natasha threw everything she had into one last Spear to pick up the win. This match doesn't matter. None of it matters. Laura Tate's attitude throughout the tournament has been completely unacceptable, and so she's been removed from the final week. This match wasn't much better than any of her others. Straight up... something's going to change, or even AFW isn't going to put up with it anymore. Back to the good stuff, and Queen Anne threw her best at Rebecca Andrews... make no mistake, though, this was hard-fought and Lis had to put all of her effort into the win here, taking Rebecca down with an Axe Kick. This just ruined Todd Colton's entire day. Still barely in the running after Laura's removal, Todd had to beat El Evergringo to keep his hopes alive. He could not do that, failing to put the luchador away, and getting hit with a Destroyer, an ultimate insult towards him as Evergringo picked up a tremendous upset victory. Arthur Wright seemingly went out of his way to upset every single person in the ring and every single person watching the match. Breaking up spots, blocking spectacular moves, generally acting in a way that almost seemed intentional to draw the ire of everyone around him. Obviously, then, he didn't end up winning this match, getting powerbombed by Rey de la Carne, then also getting smacked around by Nick MacLeod before he could even leave the ring... unfortunately for Nick, this distraction allowed Rey to line up a huge springboard Meteora, and he'd follow that up in typical Rey fashion to score the win. Riccardo De Luca has definitely eased off a bit, and this match probably shows it better than his devastating loss to Kaito Arai on Monday. Make no mistake, he's certainly miles ahead of Katherine White, but he didn't completely steamroll this one, allowing her to hold on for a good bit before he landed a huge 450 Splash for the win. Thanks to Laura Tate's removal from the bracket, this would be Rafael Gallego's last official match in the tournament. And he absolutely made the most of it... coming up huge against one of the block frontrunners in Mercedes Ortega, these two fought with everything in their arsenals until Rafael snapped off one of his biggest signatures for the victory. Can anyone stop Kaito Arai? Still undefeated at 6-0 now, he nevertheless had to work for this one against Amazon Kid, who gave it his all in trying to keep up a wild, fast pace. But Kaito overcame it... and a huge Frankensteiner off the top rope finally sealed it, giving Kaito firm control over Block B's destiny. Can he finish out with the sweep on Monday? We've finally gotten a look at what Aishwarya Dhawan is really capable of this week, and this match might've been her best thus far. Sure, she didn't come up with the win, but this was an absolute brawl, maybe one of the hardest-hitting matches of the entire tournament... but at the end of the night, Jerome Harris, given new life with Laura's removal, might be in line to win Block A. We got a look at a brand-new signing to Phoenix Rising... and, perhaps to the dismay of some, he's joined up with Pure Gold straight out of the gate. Kojiro Burai didn't overplay his hand in this one against Markos Andreas, but we got a definite sense of what he can do... devastating kicks and a sharp pace that forces his opponents to keep up or be thrown down. A brutal kick to the back of the head sealed a victory for the newcomer... and Pure Gold might be more dangerous than ever before.

We go on to Night 7. The blocks will (likely) be decided right here. Grand Ascension Night 7 Rebecca Andrews (2-4) vs. Natasha Clover (2-4)
El Evergringo (2-3) vs. Besos (2-3)
Amazon Kid (3-3) vs. Listalva Anne Heyward (3-3)
Mercedes Ortega (3-2) vs. Aishwarya Dhawan (1-4)
Rafael Gallego vs. Urani Whitemist
Riccardo De Luca (5-1) vs. Sung Moon (1-5)
Shogun vs. Kevin Royce
Jerome Harris (4-1) vs. Todd Colton (2-3)
Kaito Arai (6-0) vs. Katherine White (2-4) A bit of a shuffle for this one after Laura Tate's removal from the tournament: the usual "bonus" slot will be given to the exhibition between Rafael Gallego and Urani Whitemist, who steps in to give Rafael a stylistically similar match to what his match with Laura would've been, only way, way more fair. Probably. But the real story on this night, aside from the decisive block matches, will be the colossal showdown between the legendary Sakura Pro veteran, Shogun, and Evergreen's founder and the most violent man ever to come out of the state of Montana... Kevin Royce. No doubt this will be one of the most brutal, violent matches of the year... can Royce become one of a very, very short list of men who have taken down the nigh-unstoppable Shogun? And finally, some words from Kileas Kintelas, addressing the rumored tag match for the Icons of Phoenix Rising on Thursday's final night. "It's inaccurate, by now, to call it a 'rumor'... the Icons will be in action on Thursday as a part of the Ascension finals. We'll be in action... the match itself, I'll admit, I'm keeping a secret until match-time. You'll all see just what's in store on that night. Suffice to say... it'll be the beginning of a new era for the Icons. Our past failures are behind us... and now, we look to the future."

"So someone got caught peeing in the boss's coffee, huh. Can't say it's great to hear that someone ended up getting kicked outta this tournament, but it is what it is.
"Don't even think about putting an asterisk next to my name, though. Or for anyone else vying for the top. I'm in the spot I'm at right now 'cause I'm still in a whole different league from everyone else, with or without Laura Tate's name in the lineup. And right now, I only have one thing blocking my way to where I belong, in the finals of this whole tournament - and that's you, Todd.
"Mister 'Best in the World' himself, Todd Colton. You run your mouth back there non-stop, or so I heard. God knows you got plenty of excuses to spit up this year, not that I really care to hear 'em. All I know is... You talk too much. Now, way I see it, you got two solutions to this problem of yours: you can keep your mouth shut and come at me like a man, or you can keep runnin' your mouth. And if you do that, well, I guess I'll fix that issue for you - I'd like to see you try and talk shit with your jaw wired shut. Welp - see ya in the ring, pal."

A message from Shogun- Shogun: It's funny, I am coming up upon the end of one of the most successful years of my entire career. I became a two time Golden Blossom champion and have gone nearly unbeaten in single competition after all. Yet here I am feeling...unsatisfied. The next generation have arrived in my neck of the woods. I helped train the man that sent me on this worldwide journey of mine and on a night where he may well just secure yet another huge accomplishment so early in his young career I am facing one of the greatest threats to mine!
Kevin Royce is a man I've heard a lot about over the years, the most violent man in wrestling they say. You've put some of the toughest competitors in the world on the shelf in the past and I won't put up a front and say you can't do the same to me if I slip up on Monday! If I may be completely honest with you I shouldn't have gone on my tour of Evergreen in the first place after what Crusher Honda did to me, but like many a "legend" before me, I am stubborn to a fault. I know this but I don't plan on stopping just yet! In order to prove myself to myself like I said I would I have to continue fighting the best this world has to offer, and Royce! You aren't the last on my list... You've got all the tools to put me down for a while, but I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure I can continue marching forward on this path I have decided to take!

We've settled most everything now. Just one night left... the finals. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1187256625Youtube: youtu.be/88Te6zHmfpwQuick Results Natasha Clover def. Rebecca Andrews El Evergringo def. Besos Amazon Kid def. Listalva Anne Heyward Mercedes Ortega def. Aishwarya Dhawan Rafael Gallego def. Urani Whitemist Sung Moon def. Riccardo De Luca Kevin Royce def. Shogun Kaito Arai def. Katherine White (Kaito Arai wins Block B) Todd Colton def. Jerome Harris
Extra matches: Kojiro Burai def. Jeff (from ENHANCE) and then Chico Con Carne Write-ups You wouldn't think these two had nothing but pride on the line. With both women far, far out of the running, they nevertheless turned this into an all-out war, with nobody wanting to back down an inch... but Natasha ultimately threw herself into a Spear to pick up the victory. It took quite a bit to get there, but El Evergringo pulled off a wildly impressive win with very, very little of his usual clumsy shenanigans. Make no mistake, though, Besos kept this one close the whole way. A strong candidate for the best match of the tournament. These two went all-out, brawling around the ring, fighting with all they had... but Amazon Kid's Safari Splash proved the difference-maker, and the Kid beats the Queen on this night. Mercedes Ortega had to win this if she wanted to keep her hopes of winning the block alive, and she absolutely rose to the occasion, turning in one of her best showings of the tournament over Aishwarya Dhawan. Laura Tate's removal from the tournament left Rafael without a Night 7 opponent. Enter the Titan, who filled Laura's role perfectly, giving Rafael a taste of what his match with Laura should have been. And Rafael didn't back down, either, showing that he's more than capable of holding his own against top-level Showdown talent. Riccardo De Luca had to win to keep Kaito from winning Block B outright without even lifting a finger. Instead, Sung Moon came roaring out of the gate with the biggest upset of the tournament, knocking Riccardo out of the running and handing Kaito the block victory with no effort. Contested under Evergreen rules, this lived up to expectations, with the typical Royce pile of chairs on the outside before long, and an absolute torrent of offense from both men for the entire match. It took the entire match for either to break out their big moves... and Royce would be the first and last, taking Shogun down with his Super Bomb to finish the job and stand tall as only the third man this year to beat Shogun one-on-one. Let's be fair, everyone expected Kaito Arai to win the block outright regardless coming into tonight. While Katherine tried, she just couldn't come up with the win, Kaito crushing her with a huge top-rope Frankensteiner for the win, and the Block B sweep. Can he finish the job on Thursday in the final and complete a perfect tournament? Todd Colton apparently took some offense to Jerome Harris's words earlier, and he came roaring into this match with a ferocity that we rarely see. Jerome was just as harsh in response, but Todd snapped off a sudden Destroyer... and scored a shocking victory to leave Block A in a three-way tie. We got another look at Kojiro Burai... and he got in the ring with ENHANCE's Jeff. This ended exactly as one would expect. But he wasn't done. Demanding a proper challenge, he ordered another match immediately. Chico Con Carne would obviously put up far, far more of a fight than Jeff, making this a highlight of the night. But in the end, Kojiro stayed focused, landing a tremendous moonsault to pick up the victory. Pure Gold might just be the most dangerous force in Phoenix Rising now.
