Nicole Blade "We've been here plenty of times before over the last few years. Time and time again, the Blades get this far... we get one step away from our shot, or one step away from taking home those tag titles, and something always gets in the damn way. Not this time. Not anymore. We have never had an opportunity like this one... the Yoshida Twins are good, don't get me wrong. They've knocked off some serious challengers along the way. But if you think the Yoshidas are even close to the level of the Excellent Blades, you're dreaming. We've been waiting for far too long. We've been made to wait for years. And I'm done waiting.
We're the longest-running team on Proving Ground. We're the best team on Proving Ground. Monday night, we remind the world that when I say that, I'm not 'boasting' or blowing hot air. When the dust settles and that bell rings, you will bear witness to history. The Excellent Blades will finally... finally be where we belong. At the fucking top." The Yoshida Twins Naoko: <So these Blades are the next in line? The team that's fallen short so many times in the past? Nicole Blade talking about how her team is better than we are? Have you not SEEN what we've accomplished as champions? The names we've beaten, the defenses we've made... we have been invincible for five months! You underachievers have no chance!>
Shiori: <The story will be the same, no matter who stands in that ring with us. We were the dominant force in the Blackwood Academy. We are the dominant force here on Proving Ground. And no matter how strong you think you are... you will never take these championships from us. Thrash all you like when the time comes... but the story doesn't change. Your legs... your arms... ripe for the picking. We are the Yoshida Twins... and after Monday, we will still be Proving Ground's tag team champions.>

A wild night saw the Proving Ground participants in the Grand Ascension decided, and a landmark Proving Ground tag title defense... Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1148249862Youtube: youtu.be/McJVJqUtXjYQuick Results Anahera def. Keiko Maeda Leon Jaskulski def. Akira Ryusaki Mercedes Ortega wins the battle royal Harley Brooks def. HAYATO Leona Sterling def. SATOMI Riccardo De Luca def. Arthur Wright, Ziggy Rockefeller and Rey de la Carne Fresh Suzuki def. Golden Tigress Rafael Gallego def. Nick MacLeod The Excellent Blades def. The Yoshida Twins to become the NEW Proving Ground Tag Team Champions! (FINALLY!) Bonus: Kylie Anderson def. Tomiko Takeda Write-ups A hard-hitting opener that saw Keiko doing her best to hold her own against the veteran talent. Rei Hasegawa lent a hand where she could, but Anahera would ultimately take Keiko down with a series of elbow strikes, and scored the win. Leon Jaskulski continues a red-hot run, taking down Akira Ryusaki in a brutal matchup that never seemed to be in doubt. A huge Northern Lights Bomb put this one away, and could make Leon the apparent challenger in line to take on Sanya Markov for the Top Prospect Championship. Pure, absolute chaos, as all 8-way battle royals tend to be. Highlights include Anna Bryant somehow pulling off a full-bore Santana Sky on Felice to eliminate her, and Jessika Boom holding her own against Mercedes Ortega to the bitter end, until Mercedes cranked her into a Campana to secure the submission. If Leon isn't the man that goes to face Sanya Markov first, it's likely to be this man right here. Harley Brooks has been nothing short of electric from the day he walked into Proving Ground, with the most well-rounded offense, and coming across as the most polished of the rookie trio that joined months ago. He showed that he's got technique to match his raw power, as well, snapping up HAYATO in a quick roll-up to win this one. This was absolutely wild, maybe one of the hardest-hitting matches of the night... which are quickly becoming Leona Sterling's hallmark. The Scot eventually managed to pull ahead and lock in her Guillotine choke, getting the submission and staying hot ahead of her match with Zak Hayes on Wednesday's Butterfloor show. The skill and speed of Riccardo De Luca is impossible to deny. All throughout this match he kept up a relentless pace against the other three men in the ring, and when Ziggy Rockefeller and Arthur Wright were quickly eliminated back-to-back, Riccardo entered his element against Rey de la Carne, eventually scoring with his brutal cartwheel poison rana to get the pinfall and secure his place in the Grand Ascension. God help the rest of his block. Fresh Suzuki is back in the driver's seat. While Golden Tiger tried to screw Fresh out of the win here, it wouldn't help in the end, as the moment he was off the apron, Fresh landed a vicious Destroyer and put an end to Tigress's night, scoring the pinfall while Tiger could only watch. Rafael Gallego has punched his ticket. Faced with the Scottish powerhouse that is Nick MacLeod, he never hesitated... putting all he had behind this match and eventually scoring big with a snap Frankensteiner to score the pinfall and score what might be called a huge upset for Rafael. Years of frustration have finally been vindicated. The Excellent Blades, after a wild, unpredictable match that saw both sides simply refusing to quit... finally got their win. Just as it seemed like hope was lost, the Yoshidas seemingly prepared to take the win... Donna landed a perfectly-timed Bitter End, planting Shiori Yoshida while Naoko was being forced to the apron, and scoring the most important three-count of her career. The Blades are finally Proving Ground Tag Team Champions. And the crowd went wild.We got one more Valkyrie Pro bonus match before the Valkyrie Pro show in two weeks, and it saw the two resident powerhouses clashing as Tomiko Takeda took on Kylie Anderson. Much like her counterpart, Kylie was a five-star talent, and eventually planted Tomiko with a colossal suplex to score the pinfall.

AFW's got some decisions to make, and there's only one way to do it down in Texas... they'll decide their two participants in the Grand Ascension with a pair of mini-tournaments. American Frontier Wrestling Episode 11 Carmen Latour vs. Johnny Rocket, Tournament #1 Semifinal
Laura Tate vs. Mason Hayes, Tournament #2 Semifinal Maya Minh Sai vs. Sung Moon, Tournament #1 Semifinal
Jackson Shaw vs. Dominic Stanton, Tournament #2 Semifinal
The Foundation vs. Ryan Donovan and Nathan Haines
Manny Ramos vs. Riley Montgomery
Tournament #1 Final
Tournament #2 Final
The Marshall Family vs. The Golden Ambush for the Phoenix Rising Trios Championships Kicking off the night, we've got four straight tournament semifinals. Two separate 4-person mini-tournaments will decide who AFW sends to next month's Grand Ascension, and in the first match of the night, we'll see a red-hot matchup between the Cajun Spitfire, Carmen Latour, and Houston's very own Johnny Rocket. The first tournament will be all about speed and agility... not to mention technique. But let's be honest: this opener's gonna be all about speed.Over in the other bracket, it's gonna be the powerhouses squaring off... starting with Laura Tate and Mason Hayes. Laura's been a brutally effective force on AFW as of late, but Mason's been no slouch himself... more than capable of holding his own against anyone on the roster. The other half of the "speed" bracket, it's a rematch from a couple of months ago: Sung Moon and Maya Minh Sai will square off once again, as Maya looks to bounce back and get her win back from the young Korean-American. But Moon's a hometown hero... can she really be stopped in an AFW ring? Finally, Jackson Shaw and Dominic Stanton will clash, gunning for a spot in the tournament final, and it's gonna be a wild one, with Jackson perhaps being one of the single toughest men in AFW... but Dominic's every bit as dangerous and capable, and could very well find himself with the win... and potentially, a final against his own tag team partner. We take a bit of a detour away from the mini-tournaments to give everyone a breather, and we get our sole tag match of the night as the Foundation steps up against the current AFW Tag Team Champions. A win here would guarantee the Foundation a shot at those titles at November's AFW show... but do they have what it takes to bring down this nigh-unstoppable duo? One more match before we jump into the finals, Manny Ramos steps into the ring against a returning Riley Montgomery, back in the ring after missing last month's show, having been laid out by Carmen Latour's somersault dropkick. Riley's a dangerous opponent, but Manny's proven time and time again that it doesn't matter who he's placed against... he's more than capable of bringing them down. A pair of tournament finals will decide AFW's entrants... there isn't much else to say on either match as we don't know who's going to be involved. But no doubt, they'll be damn fine matchups. Closing out the night is this month's Phoenix Rising Trios Championship match... the Golden Ambush have very nearly completed a full loop of defenses, with a Proving Ground team set to challenge during the Ascension next month... but if they want to get there, they've got to take down AFW's ruling family, the Marshalls. Do the Ambush have what it takes to stop the Spirit of Texas Champion and his equally-powerful sisters? As of right now, the Grand Ascension blocks are lined up as follows: Block ATodd Colton Besos Rafael Gallego Mercedes Ortega Jerome Harris (courtesy of Sofia)Aishwarya Dhawan (courtesy of Senator and Lightning Pro)The winner of AFW Tournament #2 Block BThe winner of next Monday's 3-way match between Kellaron Sentarl, Listalva Anne Heyward and Alexandria Kirison Natasha Clover Riccardo De Luca Katherine White The winner of AFW Tournament #1 Ryan Donovan"So, look. I'm not much for words most of the time, so I'll keep this nice and brief. Tomorrow night, Nathan and I are going up against a pretty damn good team in the Foundation. Can't really deny that. But see, you'll notice Nathan and I aren't putting our names out there for the Grand Ascension. That's 'cause neither of us gives a shit about Phoenix Rising or their World Champion. What we want is around Lance Marshall's waist... the Spirit of Texas Championship. Nathan had his shot, gave it what he had, and couldn't get it... so now, I'm taking my run at it. Next month... on the final night of the Grand Ascension, instead of me competing to win some tournament for a title I don't want anything to do with... I'll be challenging Lance Marshall, to be the first man to take the Spirit of Texas Championship from his hands.
All it takes is one good kick... one good shot and down goes the big man like a ton of bricks. And you don't get your precious hometown crowd this time, Lance. No excuses. No home-turf advantage. Just you and me fighting to the bitter fucking end.
See you next month, 'boss'."

Right so this has been a little behind schedule because I've been flailing through my edits looking for deleted moves for the past... uhh, nearly two hours. Crap. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1151016133Youtube: youtu.be/S2a9xYlCEFgQuick Results Johnny Rocket def. Carmen Latour Laura Tate def. Mason Hayes Sung Moon def. Maya Minh Sai Jackson Shaw def. Dominic Stanton The Foundation def. Nathan Haines and Ryan Donovan Manny Ramos def. Riley Montgomery Sung Moon def. Johnny Rocket to enter the Grand Ascension Laura Tate def. Jackson Shaw to enter the Grand Ascension The Golden Ambush def. The Marshall Family to retain the Trios Championships Write-ups This was every bit the red-hot opener that we anticipated, with Carmen Latour more than holding her own against the always-spectacular Johnny Rocket. But experience won out here, and Rocket would plant Carmen for the pinfall victory, sending him on to the final later in the night. This wasn't nearly the competitive match that the opener was, with Laura Tate overwhelming Mason Hayes, ultimately wiping him out with a huge chokeslam off the turnbuckle. Once again, Sung Moon met Maya Minh Sai in the ring, and once again, Sung Moon came out on top, refusing to let Maya get the better of her. The Korean-American took Maya down with a Book End in the center of the ring, and stopped the Cornerstone's efforts to slip into the Grand Ascension. Jackson Shaw once again proved he's one of AFW's top talents in taking down Dominic Stanton, staying ahead even through Dominic's vicious sleeper hold and finally getting the job done with a brutal snap powerbomb. The Foundation have a knack for slipping away with victories, and that's exactly what happened here. In the chaos of a late-match brawl, Emma Travers caught Nathan Haines in a flash roll-up, and even as Ryan Donovan trapped Diosa Syringa in an armbar, Emma scored the three-count to get the win. No doubt there will be a rematch when AFW comes back in November... this time with the titles on the line. Riley's return to the ring was a bit of a shaky one... hard to blame her considering she was up against a supremely motivated Manny Ramos, who simply dominated this match and forced Riley to tap out to a brutal cross armbreaker after a wild sequence of offense. Sung Moon pulls off one hell of a win here against fellow Houston native, Johnny Rocket... holding out against his experience to land a Scissors Kick, scoring the victory in a fast-paced match that sends the young Academy graduate to the Grand Ascension. Laura Tate sent a message tonight: there's nobody that's going to stand in her way. Not in AFW, and not at the Grand Ascension, where she's earned her spot thanks to this strong showing against Jackson Shaw. The Golden Ambush just keeps getting away with it. They've beaten the Foundation. They've beaten Les Beautes Blondes. They've beaten eMo. And now, they've beaten the Marshall Family. They've beaten two of AFW's top trios, Evergreen's best, one of Showdown's most enduring teams... and next month, during the Grand Ascension, they'll defend against a fellow Proving Ground team to try and keep their unbelievable reign going.

Little late to the party this week but we have a full Showdown card ready to go, finally. Showdown Episode 86
Silver Hawk vs. Celine Chevalier
Blake Dynamite vs. Sophia Moretti
Urani Whitemist and Laenara Kintelas vs. The Lightning Cyclones
Kaelara Sentarl vs. Ruthless Nicole Alger
Fenix Oscuro vs. Angel Leblanc
Markos Andreas vs. Mallory Spaulding vs. Michelle Rochefort vs. Selisha for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Victor Kintelas vs. Hugo Dirksen
Kanjirin Tonorian vs. Kileas Kintelas
Kellaron Sentarl vs. Listalva Anne Heyward vs. Alexandria Kirison, Grand Ascension qualifierWe kick off the night with the first of three matches that see Les Beautes Blondes in action, as Celine Chevalier faces off with Silver Hawk. The former Pacific Northwest Champion looks to get back up the rankings while Celine seeks her own glory, even as her stablemate fights for the championship itself the same night. Blake Dynamite flies solo this week as he squares off with Sophia Moretti, with both having been participants in the recent World Cup. The two did not cross paths in that tournament, but they'll get a shot here, as both look to get something going to try and build momentum for after the Grand Ascension. Urani Whitemist and Laenara Kintelas seem to be back on the same page, though Lae's relationship with the Black Dragon may still be up in the air. Still, the couple will take on the always-electric Lightning Cyclones, looking to take down the speedy duo with power and force. Kaelara Sentarl may not stick around in the Pacific Northwest division for much longer at this point, but for the time being, she's staying put and taking on all comers... this week, it's one-half of the Limbtaker duo in RNA, and the question will be whether Kae can avoid the brutal Ruthless Armripper long enough to get the job done. Two team leaders clash in what may turn out to be a revival of a rivalry, as Fenix Oscuro faces off with Angel Leblanc. The leaders of the Malevolent Triad and Les Beautes Blondes are sure to bring everything they've got into this match... no doubt this may be one of the roughest matches of the night. After Pure Gold's assault on #1 contender Markos Andreas, a decision was reached that'd set the stage for a major clash this week: Mallory would get her Pacific Northwest Championship match, but so would Markos... along with Michelle Rochefort, who would have been this week's challenger if not for Pure Gold's reckless attack. The Malevolent Triad has expressed some serious displeasure with the way this was lined up, forcing Selisha to defend the title in a 4-way match without having had anything to do with the attack, but the decision stands firm: one of these four will go into the Grand Ascension as champion to face Mascara Avispa on Night 4 of the tournament. As for who will challenge for the Pacific Northwest Championship on the final night of the tournament, it'll be one of these two men: Victor Kintelas will be hopefully looking at a night where he can stand tall alongside partner and fellow Tag Team Champion Kellaron Sentarl, while Hugo Dirksen could go a long way towards making a name for himself if he can get the win here... Kileas Kintelas forced the World Champion to tap out last Showdown, and Kanjirin has not forgotten it. With Firehawk Sentarl having the night off, Kileas will step alone into the ring with Kanjirin, in a match that's sure to see these two go to war... can Kileas pull off another win? There's little doubt that if he can do it one-on-one, he may very well turn the World Championship match at the Grand Ascension into a three-way contest... Closing out the night, Showdown will decide its final entrant into the Grand Ascension, with the winner here entering into Block B. It's simply not clear who has the advantage here: Kellaron's array of submissions could give him a serious edge, but Queen Anne has certainly shown a craftiness that could carry her through to victory... and Alexandria Kirison's peerless striking game could very easily do the same. One thing's for certain: nobody wants to give an inch in this one, not with such an important prize on the line. Current Grand Ascension EntrantsBlock ATodd ColtonBesosRafael GallegoMercedes OrtegaLaura TateJerome Harris (Sofia)Aishwarya Dhawan (Senator)Block BListalva/Kellaron/AlexNatasha CloverRiccardo De LucaKatherine WhiteSung MoonAmazon Kid (Hana)
As you can see, we've added a few names since the last glance: AFW's additions into the tournament, along with newcomer the Amazon Kid out of Wrestle Parade. Current rumor has it that Block B will be rounded out by a member of the Sakura Pro roster: it's said that the choices have been narrowed down to three names, all of which would be very, very tough additions into the bracket.
Of course, there also remains the Evergreen entrants, set to be decided at this month's show. Those slots will be decided in a pair of singles matches set to take place: El Evergringo will take on Skidmark, and Rebecca Andrews will face Freya O'Malley.
It's very nearly time. Only a few more shows left to go...

With tonight's show, Phoenix Rising's main fed is wrapped until after the Grand Ascension next month. What a show to lead us into the tournament, though. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1154825128Youtube: youtu.be/Iq4u64fZkTkQuick Results Silver Hawk def. Celine Chevalier Blake Dynamite def. Sophia Moretti Laenara Kintelas and Urani Whitemist def. The Lightning Cyclones Kaelara Sentarl def. Ruthless Nicole Alger Fenix Oscuro def. Angel Leblanc Selisha RETAINED the Pacific Northwest Championship Victor Kintelas def. Hugo Dirksen Kanjirin Tonorian def. Kileas Kintelas Listalva Anne Heyward def. Kellaron Sentarl and Alexandria Kirison
Bonus: Andrea Hawke def. Lily Lyons Write-ups To hell with the rating here, this match was a very, very solid opener that saw Silver Hawk ultimately outpace Celine Chevalier, landing a sharp driver into a standing SSP to pick up the victory and put himself well back into the hunt for the Pacific Northwest Championship. Blake Dynamite seems to be having some trouble finishing the job as of late. It's why he lost to Angel Leblanc at the World Cup, and it's why he very nearly let Sophia Moretti make the comeback here before he finally managed to hit a Dynamite Cutter and make the cover for the win. Blake's still good, but he may need to figure something out quick before the rest of the roster takes advantage. At the very least, two-thirds of the SFG are back on the same page and ready to go. Laenara did not look like a woman struggling with any issues here, and Urani re-established herself as the Titan in style: beating the Cyclones at their own game with a colossal moonsault to score the victory. Kaelara's stubbornness almost got her into trouble here as RNA steadily wore her down, the young Sentarl determined to try and fight for a submission. That was never going to happen, and she may have finally realized it, ultimately landing a Rainbow Bridge despite her arms hanging nearly limp, and got the pinfall. Fenix Oscuro had no intention of letting Angel Leblanc get even the slightest opportunity against her. She was relentless, and eventually cranked Angel into a brutal Romero variation to force a submission, making it clear that the Malevolent Triad will not bow to the Blondes. Much to the ire of the Triad, this match went on as scheduled... so Selisha bided her time and allowed the rest of the field to take itself out, taking her shots where she could. Mallory Spaulding got a measure of revenge over Markos Andreas, only to then fall victim to a sharp backdrop from Michelle Rochefort... where Selisha struck, landing a Sky Twister on Michelle almost immediately to win the match and retain her title. Victor Kintelas is back. There is simply no doubt about it: not only was he dominant in victory against Hugo Dirksen, he picked up the win with a move we haven't seen much of for quite a long time: Patricide. The package piledriver is back on the table... and the entire Pacific Northwest division should be very, very afraid. Kanjirin Tonorian came into this match with revenge on his mind... and he damn well got it, even though he had to go to war to secure it. Kileas gave him one hell of a fight, a brawl that took them inside and out of the ring, until the World Champion finally landed a scrapbuster slam for the win, staying hot ahead of the Grand Ascension and his title defense against Candace Monroe. Up until very recently, the thought was that Listalva Anne Heyward was mostly out of the running for the Grand Ascension spot. A recent victory, however, reignited her chances and gave her one last chance to make her way in against Kellaron Sentarl and Alexandria Kirison... and she seized it, refusing to let it go. Queen Anne managed to outlast both of her opponents here, and with a running SSP, she scores the biggest shot of her career... and potentially, if she can win the tournament, a chance to avenge the fallen Little Phoenix.

A reminder: no stream on Monday this week. I'll be out of town, so the next stream will be Thursday's Evergreen show, followed up with Valkyrie Pro on Saturday... and then, we begin the Grand Ascension on the following Monday. The updated blocks are as follows: these are close to finalized, as you'll be able to see. Block A
Todd Colton Besos Rafael Gallego Mercedes Ortega Laura Tate El Evergringo or Skidmark Jerome Harris (Sofia) Aishwarya Dhawan (Senator)
Block B
Listalva Anne Heyward Natasha Clover Riccardo De Luca Katherine White Sung Moon Rebecca Andrews or Freya O'Malley Amazon Kid (Hana) Kaito Arai (Jesta) That's right... the only two spots left to be decided now are the two for Evergreen, with two singles matches taking place on next Thursday's show to settle those spots once and for all and lock in the bracket. We're also capable of announcing Block B's guest participants: from Wrestle Parade, the Amazon Kid will step into the ring, and from Sakura Pro, the incredible rising star that is Kaito Arai will arrive to try and continue his meteoric rise to the top. Evergreen Federation Wrestling Episode 49 The Phantom Thief vs. Ashton Crowe
Concrete Pete vs. Logan Axelrod
Veronika Armstrong and Sayaka Saito vs. The Sheridan Brothers
El Evergringo vs. Skidmark, Grand Ascension Qualifier
Argent vs. Kantar
Cinderine Celeste vs. Mercy Devine
eMo (Eddy/Sookie) vs. Iris Coleman and Julian Shepard
Shogun vs. Tasharun
Rebecca Andrews vs. Freya O'Malley, Grand Ascension Qualifier Kicking off Evergreen this Thursday, we get a rare sighting of the Phantom Thief. As infrequent as his appearances have been lately, he always seems to show up when people least expect... and he'll step into the ring against Evergreen's newest member, Ashton Crowe. It's another clash of big meaty men, as Concrete Pete, one-half of the current Butterfloor tag champions and perennial Evergreen favorite, takes on the big lumberjack in Logan Axelrod. Power against power, a clash of titans for the ages... Mercy Devine had plenty to say to the Sheridans after Friday's PEWA show... certainly not in any congratulatory sense, though one has to think that even if they'd won the PEWA tag titles, Mercy wouldn't be particularly happy about it. Regardless, the Sheridans have a rough one back in their home fed against a rare Oakland's Most Metal duo of Veronika and Sayaka... The first of Evergreen's two Grand Ascension spots will be decided right here. Against all odds (and perhaps against reason), El Evergringo might be on the verge of a huge moment... but only if he can take down Skidmark. The luchador will have to be on top of his game if he wants to take down the Big Boy Biker... Once again, former allies clash in a battle of titans, as Argent and Kantar once again renew their seemingly-endless rivalry. A flat-out brawl to the finish... that's all we can expect here, but can Kantar finally get one over on the tag champ? Last time we saw Cinderine Celeste in an Evergreen ring (just last month), she didn't really get the full package like she should've. Mercy's set out to rectify this: she's insisted that Celeste get the full treatment this time, and to make sure that the production crew gets it right this time, she's going to take the match herself... this is almost certain to be the most violent match of the night, if not of the entire year. eMo is looking for another run at the Evergreen tag titles, and what better way to do it than by trying to kick off a winning streak? Iris Coleman and Julian Shepard have never teamed up before, but it seems like one or the other approached their new partner to attempt something... with Julian also known for occasionally teaming with the Phantom Thief, could there be a new group in Evergreen rising up soon? Shogun's last scheduled match for Evergreen, and it's a doozy: we all knew this was likely to happen one way or another. Shogun's plowed through Logan Axelrod and Kantar both, and now, he sets his sights on the biggest and baddest demon in Evergreen... can he complete the sweep and put Tasharun down? The main event might just be one of the wildest matchups imaginable: on one side, the unlikely front-runner, Rebecca Andrews, who's been red-hot over the last few months. Across from her, the rising star, the seeming favorite: Freya O'Malley. Don't think Freya's forgotten about her previously stated goal, either: if she's not in the Ascension final (hell, if she loses this match right here...) she's stated that on the final night of the tournament, she'll issue her challenge directly to Kantar, looking to slam the door on the demonic trio and remind the world that she is the Giant-Slayer, the Demon-Slayer, the most unstoppable force in all of Evergreen. Mercy Devine"Got a lot I need to talk about. First of all: Vincent, Zack, you two morons were never gonna come out of that PEWA show as tag champs... but if you had, you had better fucking believe I was gonna call up Biff Taylor and ask him to make you two idiots defend the titles on Evergreen right away. Yeah, that's right, I think you two are big enough jackasses that I would've given my most hated enemy a title shot against you just to knock your damn heads straight again. As it is, though? I don't have to worry about any titles being on the line, because you're still such screw-ups that it doesn't matter, you flat-out blew it, and that's the way it is.
So let's stop talking about the idiot brigade and talk about someone way, way more interesting. I wanna apologize for last month's issues for Cinderine Celeste. We didn't get our shit together properly and, well... that's not gonna happen again. Guaranteed. We're getting it right this time, and I'm gonna make sure of it personally, 'cause if someone screws up this one, I'm gonna drag their ass out to the ring and we can stomp the shit out of them together.
Besides that, though... I wanna see what you've got. You got my interest last month in the ring. I want a piece of it for myself. Violence is second-nature to me... always has been. And it's a language you seem to speak pretty damn well, too. So we're gonna do what we do best... I can't think of any better way to make my big return to the Evergreen ring than by going out into what I'm sure is gonna be the wildest, most violent match Evergreen's seen all fuckin' year."

Bonus: Cinderine Celeste def. Mercy Devine in a Landmine Deathmatch Write-ups You never know what you're gonna get with the Phantom Thief... and tonight, we got one of his weaker showings, as Ashton Crowe absolutely plowed through him en route to a dominant victory. It took a hell of a lot to get to this point: Pete and Logan were doing their best to wipe each other out, but after a wild brawl on the outside, Pete finally landed the Cement Mixer in the ring, laying Logan out for a truly hard-fought victory. The Sheridans, coming off of a frustratingly close defeat on last week's PEWA show, came back home to try and get themselves a better result. Against Veronika and Sayaka, though, on a night that seemed stacked in the odds of the Oakland crew, there just wasn't any way they stood a chance... and Veronika would force Zack to tap out to her Dragon Clutch for the win. Save for one match later in the night, this was probably the single most hard-fought battle of the entire show. El Evergringo proved himself truly resilient in the face of a size mis-match, and Skidmark tried everything he could to keep the luchador down... but quick thinking and a quick roll-up finally sealed the win for Evergringo and sent him to the Ascension... the biggest event of his career. Another intense brawl that saw Kantar pull ahead, and steadily assert his authority, with the triple powerbombs flying hard. But it was another one of his standby moves that scored the pinfall, giving Kantar a much-needed victory as he finally gets a win over Argent in Evergreen. This was not the match that Mercy had talked up. This wasn't the vicious, violent brawl she'd claimed it'd be... not that she didn't try, of course, but this ended without a single drop of blood spilled, somehow. Mercy won, but came away deeply unsatisfied... something she'd rectify after the main card. eMo had quite a bit of trouble here against the duo of Iris and Julian, who looked strong despite being a first-time team. Still, when Eddy seemed incapable of bringing his unbelievably clutch nature into play, Sookie took it upon herself instead... locking in that familiar facelock on Iris and securing the eMo victory. Both men in this match took an absolutely tremendous amount of punishment just to stay down. Shogun landed the Will of One more than once, Tasharun hit a Demon's Wrath more than once, but neither man could finish the job for nearly 25 minutes before Shogun threw a truly destructive lariat to finally keep the Demon down for good. Shogun sweeps his matches in the Evergreen ring... dominant, right to the end. But this isn't likely the last time we'll see him around... How does one stop Freya O'Malley? If you're Rebecca Andrews, you take no chances and go for the finish as soon as possible... and boy, did she. Before this match had hardly begun, Rebecca set up for the Go To Sleep, and that was all it took... Freya toppling over, knocked out cold, and Rebecca moves on to the Ascension in a shocking upset for the ages. Mercy promised violence. In her first meeting with Cinderine Celeste, she did not get what she was after. As a result, she quickly lined up an immediate rematch, as neither woman was particularly winded from their prior match... this time, setting up a colossal deathmatch that Mercy was certain would give the crowd what they came to see. And it more than lived up to expectations... Mercy may have won the match on the main card, but this ultra-violent brawl would go the other way, a wild spinning headbutt taking Mercy down and securing the win, closing out the night with everything the crowd could've ever wanted to see. A challenge issued "Lemme get something straight, here. Mercy brings in the big man, a legend like Shogun... starts him off with Logan Axelrod, that's fine. Throws Kantar at him the next month. Fine by me. That man's an Evergreen icon that deserves nothing less. And then... and then, you decide, Mercy, to throw Tasharun at him? That outsider piece of shit that doesn't belong in my fucking ring? You wanna give that piece of trash the big showcase against the guest star... I'm going over your head for this." The image of Kevin Royce fades into view... standing in a backstage ring, surrounded by chairs, some of them likely ones he'd used in previous matches. "People wanna say that Shogun's done with Evergreen... fuck you. Maybe he's done inside Evergreen's own ring. But next month... I'm challenging you myself, Shogun. Right there at the Ascension. You've faced some of the top powerhouses that Evergreen's got... but this? This is legend to legend... and I'm gonna make goddamn sure you never forget this one."

Because I was out of town on Monday, I couldn't do what I intended, which was to run Valkyrie Pro on Monday. So instead, we're gonna run it tomorrow night, Saturday, October 2. Valkyrie Pro Episode 3, AKA "I know this fed's 'sporadic' but this is ridiculous" Kiana Yamazaki vs. Empress Fenix
Amanda Skye and Lily Lyons vs. Speed Dating (Riccardo/Felice), Tornado Rules
Kylie Anderson vs. Andrea Hawke
Leona Sterling vs. Brady Quinn, SWA Rules
The Tachibanas vs. The Malevolent Triad (Oscuro/Haruka)
Priya Mallaya vs. Tina Remington
Tomiko Takeda vs. Aria Kintelas
Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe vs. The Marshall Sisters
Kaede Takeda vs. Kroll Kicking off this show will be a show of technical prowess and lucha talent, as Kiana Yamazaki (most familiar as Mercy Devine's doppelganger) takes on Wrestle Parade's Empress Fenix. Can Yamazaki's array of flash pins overcome the incredible high-flying ability that one-third of the Phantom Wings can display? A wild, wild matchup here: two nights before his first match in the Grand Ascension, Riccardo De Luca will team up with his Proving Ground tag partner, Felice Santana, to take on Valkyrie Pro's own Lily Lyons and Amanda Skye in a tornado-style tag match. Notable is that this is being referred to as "tornado" rules and not "Evergreen" rules, which likely means there will be at least -some- enforcing of the rules. Valkyrie Pro's own five-star talent steps into the ring against its founder: Andrea Hawke continues to show some humility when it comes to her position in her own fed, taking a lower-card match against Kylie Anderson. But make no mistake, she's almost certain to be on top of her game... against Kylie, she'll have to be. It's become a tradition: both Valkyrie Pro shows thus far have had a shoot-style match, and this one will be no different. The winners of both of the previous matches will square off... with Leona Sterling having won on the inaugural card, and Brady Quinn defeating Vanessa Saunders on episode 2, the two will now face each other... mostly for bragging rights, but who knows... maybe Valkyrie Pro will introduce a championship one of these days. A clash of teams from different shows: the Tachibana siblings, SATOMI and HAYATO, will represent Proving Ground against the dangerous Showdown team that is the Malevolent Triad. Selisha will likely be at ringside for this one... will that give the Triad the edge? One hell of a match ahead here as we come to the back half of the card, with Priya Mallaya squaring off with Tina Remington. Priya's had quite a bit of success lately in her appearances away from Valkyrie Pro, but now she comes home to face the woman who's dangerously similar to one Todd Colton. This match seemed inevitable from the day Aria Kintelas made her debut. Practically two halves of the same coin... Tomiko, the counterpart to Telan Kintelas... Aria, his daughter. This might be as close as Aria ever gets to facing her own father for some time. The resident counterparts to the current Showdown tag team champions, the GOAT, will find themselves with one hell of a challenge: Fox and Wolfe are taking on AFW's own Marshall sisters. Cassandra and Terra have become quite the team, and they're sure to make this one a tough one for the hometown duo. Closing out the night, it's a huge clash of some truly dangerous women... Kaede Takeda, the other half of Valkyrie Pro's founding, will square off with Kroll, who's made one hell of an impact from the moment she made her first appearance. Does Kaede have what it takes to stop the Roaring Devil?

A statement from one of the Grand Ascension guest entrants: The scene is a dark room, save for the harsh light of fluorescent bulbs hanging from the ceiling, under which is a large leather chair, its back turned to the camera, and various stereotypically Japanese iconography - a katana and kodachi on a rack, a set of decorative armor, porcelain figures, and so on. The chair swivels and turns to face the camera, revealing a tall, well-built African-American man in a tailored suit jacket and slacks, hair tied in tight cornrows, a pair of designer sunglasses over his eyes. He leans forward, fingers laced together, and stares over the frames of his shades right at the camera, a wry grin on his face that is betrayed by the cold look in his eyes, the furrowed eyebrows, the hints of stress lines across his face.
"Heh. For four years, I've been gone from America. Even before the last time I was here, I'd been off doin' my best across the Pacific, making sure my name's on everyone's lips as one of the big bosses of Japanese pro-wrestling. And there's a reason why people call me 'Big in Japan' - it's cause I, a foreigner in uncharted lands, staked my claim as a pillar of the company who hired me, Bushido Prowrestling League.
"And ever since fuckin' 2017, last time I came out this way, once a week, I'd get some talent scout sendin' feelers out to have me come back to the States - 'cause after I got treated as a joke for breaking my cushy-ass football contract to do pro wrestling instead of taking the easy route to being a celebrity, and I made it big as a wrestler here; the people doubtin' me had second thoughts, they realized I'm the real deal. And every time, I've looked at what they offer and laughed in their faces. Cause even now, the best they offer me is a big paycheck to sit on my ass week after week and work part-time. That ain't me.
"Firehawk Sentarl... he should consider himself lucky I took a look at his contract and said, 'Yeah, let's do this.' The money's a part of it, no duh. I'm getting paid handsomely to show up here in the next few days. But it's also about getting recognized, not just as the boss of Japan, but as the boss of this whole goddamn world. It's about finding competition, real competition, and crushing it like I've crushed everything else that's come my way, and the way I see it, this is a perfect chance to do just that.
"Boss-man recruited all of us in this tourney from across the world cause he wants a fresh face to win this tournament, someone to push the champ to the limit. Whether it's that MMA washout Monroe or," he says with a little sneer, "The guy who's been actin like he runs this place for the past few months. He wants big names? He's got one, and when - not if - I win this tournament, I'll be the man to stand up to the champ. When the lights go out in the arena at the end of the year, that belt's gonna be around my waist."
"But, before you go kissing my feet and acting like I turn water into wine, I'm not doing this outta the kindness of my own heart, or outta some sense of honor. To me, there's no honor to be had in that ring. What, you think that 'cause I'm from a company called Bushido Pro, I'm all about that samurai chivalry, Yamato Spirit and stuff? Hell no, I'm out here for ME, to show I'M the big boss of the wrestling world. If that means kicking some asshole in a leather-daddy vest off the top of the mountain, I'm gonna do it.
"But... I'm getting ahead of myself, huh? Talking like the title shot comes first. No, first things first is the Grand Ascension. October 4, a few short nights from now, I make my opening statement for my case to be the actual best in the world. I dunno who I'm up against. It doesn't matter who I'm up against. Whether it's that annoying moron shouting that he's 'Best in the World' every time he can, the luchadores who think they can hang with the heavyweights, the unknown factors, or that crazy nuclear waste dump giant Amazoness of a woman... Whoever it is, they're gonna learn that in Japan, I'm more than just a big fish in a small pond; I'm a damn great white shark in a big sea of predators."

And there we are, the actual last show before the Ascension kicks off on Monday. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1166070190Youtube: youtu.be/kVs1ck2gZBcQuick Results Empress Fenix def. Kiana Yamazaki Speed Dating def. Lily Lyons and Amanda Skye Kylie Anderson def. Andrea Hawke Brady Quinn def. Leona Sterling, and is declared inaugural Valkyrie Pro Shoot Champion The Tachibanas def. The Malevolent Triad Tina Remington def. Priya Mallaya Tomiko Takeda def. Aria Kintelas Fox and Wolfe def. the Marshall Sisters Kaede Takeda def. Kroll
Bonus: Anna Bryant won a 6-way battle royal over Kylie Anderson, Y-Pac, Maya Minh Sai, Kaelara Sentarl and Sabrina Write-ups A seriously hot start to the show, with Kiana Yamazaki trying her hardest to keep pace with Empress Fenix. She'd ultimately come up short, though, even after the two traded Dudebusters back and forth until Fenix landed one more that sealed the victory. As chaotic as one would expect any tornado tag match to be... the actual enforcement of rules in this one not exactly helping it hold any more structure. Felice Santana continued a tremendous week, having scored a big win on Friday's TIPWF show in a trios elimination match, and now here, scoring big with a rana pin to stay on a wild hot-streak. It really was all Kylie here, with Andrea Hawke having trouble getting things going. Anderson was a pure wrecking ball, and a crushing Croyt's Wrath brought this one to a swift end. Valkyrie Pro officially sanctions a championship now. With Brady Quinn picking up a vicious KO victory here, she becomes Valkyrie Pro's first ever Shoot Champion... I'm sure we'll come up with a proper name for it sooner or later. Either way, Brady's striking game proved superior to Leona's matwork, and she stands tall as the first Valkyrie Pro champion. The Tachibanas were on fire tonight, giving every bit as much as they took from Haruka and Oscuro until HAYATO lined up a spectacular flying kick from the top rope, leveling Haruka... SATOMI flying in to block the save at the very last moment, narrowly giving the Tachibanas a hard-fought victory. Tina Remington continues to be red-hot wherever she goes, fighting off a very eager Priya Mallaya (who seemed unusually interested in Tina tonight) and pivoting into a brutal armbar to force the tapout and get the win. If Valkyrie Pro starts up a proper wrestling championship, Tina might be a front-runner for it right now. Tomiko Takeda has absolutely nothing resembling mercy in her vocabulary. She didn't hold anything back here against Aria Kintelas, who did what she could to try and slow Tomiko down... but even her biggest moves saw Tomiko pop right back up to answer in kind, ultimately wiping out Aria with a spear. There just might not be any better tag team around than Fox and Wolfe, who have risen to nearly every challenge thrown their way short of literal giants. The Marshalls certainly gave this one a solid fight, but Victoria's efforts with the Triangle Lancer finally paid off to force Cassandra to submit. Anticipated to be one of the top matches of the night, Kaede wound up dominant through most of it, never really letting Kroll get her full power brought to bear. Her signature Reverse STF, worked throughout the whole match, eventually proved too much for the Roaring Devil, and Kaede ended the night as a conqueror. A bonus match with six randomly-picked wrestlers from each of the Phoenix Rising organization's various rosters, it'd surprisingly be Anna Bryant that distinguished herself at the front of the line. Once the field narrowed a bit, she went all-out, leaving her in the ring with Sabrina and Kaelara Sentarl... both of whom she quickly locked into the Anaconda Vice to score a huge win. The Grand Ascension is now two days away. Your final list of participants and their blocks... Block A
Todd Colton Besos Rafael Gallego Mercedes Ortega Laura Tate El Evergringo Jerome Harris (Sofia/Bushido Pro) Aishwarya Dhawan (Senator/Lightning Pro)
Block B
Listalva Anne Heyward Natasha Clover Riccardo De Luca Katherine White Sung Moon Rebecca Andrews Amazon Kid (Hana/Wrestle Parade) Kaito Arai (Jesta/Sakura Pro)

Tomorrow night: the Grand Ascension finally gets under way. Grand Ascension Night 1 Mercedes Ortega vs. Laura Tate
Katherine White vs. Sung Moon
Aishwarya Dhawan vs. Todd Colton
Riccardo De Luca vs. Rebecca Andrews
Leona Sterling vs. Gabriela Gallego for the Inspire Championship
Besos vs. Jerome Harris
Natasha Clover vs. Amazon Kid
Rafael Gallego vs. El Evergringo
Kaito Arai vs. Listalva Anne Heyward What more needs to be said regarding previews here? We all know the path that each of these sixteen men and women have taken to get to this point... whether by invitation or merit, whether by consistent winning streaks or simply outlasting their rivals, every single person has earned their place here... yes, even Todd Colton, who got in solely through prior successes. But there is a single match on here that has no bearing on the tournament itself... Leona Sterling is in the midst of perhaps the biggest week of her career. She came up short against Brady Quinn on Valkyrie Pro, and although she suffered a knockout blow, it was not considered serious enough for her to miss this show, nor enough to stop her from going to Butterfloor on Wednesday, either. Gabriela Gallego, meanwhile, seeks to make this a successful defense of the Inspire Championship... a task that won't be easy. Can Leona finally break through her frustrations and come away with gold at any point this week? Or will she be shut out yet again, silenced and sent home to wonder just what will it take?

We're under way... the first night is finished, and we're already getting a sense of potential favorites, but there's still a lot left to go. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1167862452Youtube: youtu.be/DpHLwUb_-r4Quick Results Mercedes Ortega def. Laura Tate Katherine White def. Sung Moon Todd Colton def. Aishwarya Dhawan Riccardo De Luca def. Rebecca Andrews Gabriela Gallego def. Leona Sterling to retain the Inspire Championship Jerome Harris def. Besos Natasha Clover def. Amazon Kid Rafael Gallego def. El Evergringo Kaito Arai def. Listalva Anne Heyward Bonus: Winifred Wright def. Laenara Kintelas Write-ups Mercedes Ortega stared down one of the biggest wrestlers in the entire Phoenix Rising organization, and didn't so much as blink. Laura's overwhelming power was definitely on display here, but Mercedes just kept coming... ultimately using her speed and technique to score a stunning victory. Katherine White might just be for real. Her hot streak just continues as she takes down fellow Academy graduate Sung Moon, and now it suddenly looks like Block B may have to take notice of her... a big-time flipping senton from the top gave Katherine a win here, and she's just not slowing down. Todd Colton is on a mission this year. His first Ascension, he came up well short of where he wanted to be. Last year, he reached the final only to fall to Eri Sentarl, who went on to become World Champion. His 2021 has gone nowhere near where he wanted it to be... but he's come roaring out of the gate against Aishwarya Dhawan, enduring her brutal offense to work the arms throughout the whole match and ultimately getting the win off of one of his signature armbars. Riccardo De Luca might have just cemented himself as the most dangerous man in Block B. Rebecca Andrews may have scored a huge win to get into the Ascension, but Riccardo made it clear that if she wants to get any further, she'll have to step up big... he was relentless, living up to his "Perpetual Motion" moniker. What does it take for Leona Sterling? She's struggled to get anything going lately, failing to capture titles so many times in a row... Gabriela Gallego was just one step ahead the whole way, and now Leona needs to figure out just what's going wrong with her gameplan. Jerome Harris's first match on American soil in four years put his talents on display. And while this was far from a completely dominant showing, he was absolutely a tremendous competitor against Besos. She gave him everything she had, but he'd ultimately get the upper hand, landing Made in Japan to score the win. Natasha Clover has her sights set on the top. Even against clear crowd favorite, the Amazon Kid, Natasha didn't let up for a second, bringing her full striking game into play and ultimately taking the Kid down. A bit of a rough start for El Evergringo, as he struggled to keep pace with Rafael Gallego. Still, there's some hope to be had, as he wasn't completely steamrolled... still, Rafael was definitely in charge here, landing a Three Amigos-style series of suplexes followed by a standing moonsault for the win. Kaito Arai's Ascension debut was one hell of a showing, going up against Queen Anne... and it proved to be a better, and more even matchup than perhaps many would think. It took everything in the arsenal for both wrestlers, but Kaito would ultimately hit the Emerald Driver to score the win and start off his Ascension run in a big way. For a couple of months now, it's been unclear where Laenara Kintelas's loyalties truly laid. Was she still all right with the SFG, or would she return to the side of the Kintelas family, turn her back on everything that had been built up for the last three years? We may have gotten our answer, as when word of an argument between Laenara and Winifred Wright broke out, a match was quickly lined up for the two to settle things... though this may not have settled anything in the end, with Winifred getting the win, but Lae no doubt still refusing to turn away from the SFG... who she may now regard as her true "family".

No sense in delaying: it's time to take a look at Night 2, coming up on Thursday night. Grand Ascension Night 2 Sung Moon (0-1) vs. Kaito Arai (1-0)
Jerome Harris (1-0) vs. Rafael Gallego (1-0)
Rebecca Andrews (0-1) vs. Katherine White (1-0)
Laura Tate (0-1) vs. Aishwarya Dhawan (0-1)
Ryan Donovan vs. Lance Marshall for the Spirit of Texas Championship
Listalva Anne Heyward (0-1) vs. Natasha Clover (1-0)
El Evergringo (0-1) vs. Mercedes Ortega (1-0)
Amazon Kid (0-1) vs. Riccardo De Luca (1-0)
Todd Colton (1-0) vs. Besos (0-1) Your extra match for this night will be for the Spirit of Texas Championship... a decision made only recently to move said championship match from the final night to become one of the showcase matches during the tournament. Ryan Donovan, one-half of the AFW Tag Team Champions, will attempt to be the first man to topple Lance Marshall and win the championship... but can he really do what nobody else has even come close to doing? Ryan Donovan"Best if you sit and listen to this one. See, there's been a big fuckin' deal made for the last few months: about how when Lance Marshall steps into an AFW ring he's goddamn near invincible. Nathan's the only one that's beaten him one-on-one in that setting, the only guy that's knocked him down on his home turf, and it wasn't the championship match he pulled it off in.
But see... none of that matters here. Not one bit. We aren't going to an AFW ring, big guy... we're fighting on a bigger stage, away from home, right in the middle of the Grand Ascension. You don't get some home-field advantage going into this. You don't get to take hope from your hometown Houston fans. You're walking onto neutral ground...
And see, Nathan's a damn fine wrestler. A powerhouse like no other. A man that could beat anyone on any given night. But I'm the Carolina Reaper, Ryan Donovan... and I'm not interested in coming up short. I'm not interested in anything less than wiping the floor with you, Lance... because you've been nothing but smug holding that Spirit of Texas Championship from day one. And you really want to know something? A truth that you're trying to run away from?
Out in front of that crowd... the Phoenix Rising crowd, the wild ones up in Washington... when I take your fuckin' head off, Lance, they will thank me for it. Because you still won't admit the origin of that championship you're wearing. Conveniently forgot everything surrounding how you crowned yourself Spirit of Texas Champion. But they won't forget. They won't ever forget... I won't let them." Lance Marshall"I hear a whole lot of talk. Whole lot of swagger. All from a man who ain't proven himself in anything but bein' part of a team. Sure, Ryan Donovan's been a damn big part of that team. Takes a whole hell of a lot of effort to be AFW Tag Team Champions, especially with how many teams are always gunning for your heads. And you've endured. Thrived.
But this ain't a tag team match. You ain't got Nathan Haines standin' in your corner to bail your ass out when things get dicey. You only have one person you can rely on in that ring on Thursday night... yourself. And standin' in that ring, whether it's AFW in Houston, Phoenix Rising in Washington, TIPWF in Amarillo, it don't matter where we are when you're steppin' in across from me! I ain't comin' into this match to sit and wonder what people are gonna think, the first time I've been anywhere related to Phoenix Rising since I opened AFW's doors! You want to tell me I'm tryin' to bury the origin of this championship, I'll tell you I wouldn't change one damn thing about how this all started!
Thursday night, Ryan... the 'Carolina Reaper' is runnin' into the boss. And you might think it's arrogant to say it, you might think I got an ego the same size as my home state, but I'll say it anyway... I am AFW. I am the Spirit of Texas Champion. And I sure as hell ain't lettin' you change that."
