After what's been a seriously wild week, I'm running a little bit behind, admittedly. But tomorrow night, we're all set with Proving Ground action. (I have yet to decide when the next Valkyrie Pro show will be... I'd hoped that the main shows would align such that I could replace the last one before Sky's the Limit, but they wound up aligning that Showdown would be the last one before the big show, so that's out. I'll let everyone know when it happens.) Colt Whitfield vs. Rafael Gallego
The Wright Stuff vs. Adrenaline Rush
Rin Ryusaki vs. La Corsaria
Leon Jaskulski vs. Akira Ryusaki
Calista Vargas vs. Hikari Ueno vs. Angela Rothenberg vs. Leona Sterling, #1 Contender's Match for the Inspire Championship
Harley Brooks vs. Nick MacLeod
Fresh Suzuki vs. Anna Bryant
The Yoshida Twins vs. The Rising Storm for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships
HAYATO vs. Sanya Markov for the Top Prospect ChampionshipWe continue this week with further looks at the newcomers, this time with Colt Whitfield opening up the show against Rafael Gallego. Good luck to the Kansas rookie for this one, as we know very well how good Rafael can be at his best, especially towards those who aren't ready for his brand of lucha.
The Wright Stuff are out to rise up again, and standing on that first step is Adrenaline Rush, aiming to push themselves up towards the tag titles in turn. At this stage of the year, and with the championship matches taking place on this show, the next opportunity is likely to be at Sky's the Limit in June... and both of these teams are going to want to be the ones who get that shot.
Rin Ryusaki flies solo this week, as the Pride of Scotland all aim to stay sharp, preparing for their eventual trios match that will pit them against Oakland's Most Metal. Rin, meanwhile, will work on her own singles career for now while her tag partner goes for a shot at the title she lost three months ago...
Leon Jaskulski made a fairly solid impact in his debut two weeks ago, holding his own as well as anyone could against Riccardo De Luca. Akira Ryusaki, meanwhile, may prove a more fitting opponent for the big man from Wisconsin, and this one could easily be a highlight match for the night.
The only championship without a contender determined last episode was the Inspire Championship, with Anna Bryant fending off Jessika Boom to ensure that a proper contender's match would have to be held. Over the last couple of shows, it's these four women who have distinguished themselves and earned their chance... could Leona Sterling find herself in potential competition for two championships in the near future? Could Hikari Ueno or Angela Rothenberg have the first big break of their careers? Or could it be the incredible Calista Vargas who stands tall in search of a prize that many feel is simply inevitable for her?
Harley Brooks was the only one of the debuting three to win his match last episode, and he's got the late-card match as a result, squaring off with Nick MacLeod in what will almost certainly be a vicious brawl. MacLeod certainly wants to stay on target... with the trios matches coming soon, a win here would help keep his momentum hot, but Harley could easily turn the tide.
Fresh Suzuki is getting a rematch. And while this match may not be for the Inspire Championship, the title Anna won from Fresh three months ago at New Year's Bash, a win by Fresh here would set the stage for a three-way Inspire Championship match at the next Proving Ground. Can Fresh pull this off? And if so... could she become the first-ever woman to be a two-time Inspire Champion?
The Yoshida Twins have been desperate for this rematch after losing their last match against the Rising Storm. And now that Anahera and Xiu Mei Li are Proving Ground Tag Team Champions... the Yoshidas have fought their way to a title shot against the most decorated tag team in all of Phoenix Rising. Can the Yoshidas pull it off this time? Can they topple the undisputed top team on Proving Ground? Or will the Rising Storm once again send the rookies home disappointed?
HAYATO stunned the world two weeks ago when he scored a huge victory over Sanya Markov... and set the stage for a rematch immediately, for the Top Prospect Championship. If HAYATO can repeat what he did in their last match, it would give him his first gold in Phoenix Rising... and bring a sudden end to the reign of one of the most frighteningly powerful Top Prospects in Proving Ground's history. But Sanya isn't likely to give up his title without a fight... This match should prove to be a worthy main event, in the end.

Hell of a night, and I can probably push through a crazy schedule without much trouble if they keep going as hard as these last few shows have. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/977159580Youtube: youtu.be/jl1KHXLy9uYQuick Results Rafael Gallego def. Colt Whitfield Adrenaline Rush def. The Wright Stuff La Corsaria def. Rin Ryusaki Akira Ryusaki def. Leon Jaskulski Leona Sterling def. Calista Vargas, Hikari Ueno and Angela Rothenberg Nick MacLeod def. Harley Brooks Fresh Suzuki def. Anna Bryant The Yoshida Twins def. The Rising Storm to become the NEW Proving Ground Tag Team Champions Sanya Markov def. HAYATO to retain the Top Prospect Championship Write-ups Strong showing from Colt here, better than in his debut, but Rafael would not be denied as he pulled out all the stops, snapping off a Frankensteiner pin to score the victory and keep Colt hunting for his first victory. Adrenaline Rush looks better every time we see them, and they were absolutely electric here as Nic Nitro kept up a blistering pace throughout, though it'd be Tommy Thunder who put this one away with a Go 2 Sleep, perhaps putting Adrenaline Rush in the conversation for a shot at the Proving Ground tag titles next. The Pride of Scotland kicked off their night well, with Corsaria ripping into Rin Ryusaki right out of the gate, the two matching each others' speed until Corsaria eventually trapped the young ninja in a brutal submission, forcing the tapout and kicking off what would be a very, very good night for the Scots. It took a fair bit of work, but Akira Ryusaki eventually pulled ahead of newcomer Leon Jaskulski. It'd be a Slingblade that finished the job here, but Leon certainly made this one a fight to the end with his impressive power. Leona Sterling was not about to fall short here. As Calista Vargas seemed primed to crush her with a Stormbreaker, Leona slipped from her grasp, putting the Brazilian into a backslide pin and eliminating her... shortly thereafter, she trapped Hikari Ueno in a brutal choke submission, and very nearly turned around into a spiking chokeslam from Angela Rothenberg... but Leona kicked out, trapped Angela in the same submission, and guaranteed herself a shot at Anna Bryant and the Inspire Championship. Nick MacLeod came into this match looking for a Scottish sweep... and despite Harley Brooks's best efforts, MacLeod would get it, showing his raw power en route to cranking Brooks in his crossing STF submission, giving the Pride of Scotland tremendous momentum ahead of the trios championship matches... Fresh Suzuki is determined to reclaim the title that Anna Bryant took from her. With Leona Sterling already having become #1 contender, Fresh was intent on making sure that title match would be a three-way contest... and though it took a hell of a fight to get there, Fresh eventually won this match with a submission, hardly her usual style... but she's one step closer to reclaiming her title, and perhaps becoming the first-ever two-time Inspire Champion. Much like their previous meetings, this one turned into a battle almost straight out of the gate. But the Yoshidas were seemingly even more motivated now than ever before... determined not to lose to the Rising Storm again, not with the championships on the line. And against all odds... even through everything Xiu Mei Li and Anahera had to throw at the twins, Shiori Yoshida scored the biggest win of her career, all while Naoko held Anahera's attention. The Yoshida Twins have toppled the most decorated team in Phoenix Rising, and now stand on top of Proving Ground's tag division, beyond any doubt. In what might be one of the most intense championship matches Proving Ground's ever witnessed, HAYATO was a relentless wave of offense against the Russian... locking in the Tachibana Special as many times as he could find the opening for it, throwing strikes and keeping Sanya off-balance as much as possible. A huge brawl on the outside late in the match didn't seem to favor either man... but the moment the match spilled back into the ring, Sanya had enough... and a Red Crush made sure that the Top Prospect would remain around Sanya's waist for now, another spirited defense by the powerful Russian.

Been a wild couple of weeks, and it's not really letting up just yet. American Frontier Wrestling is back on Thursday. Kasey Ryder vs. Carmen LatourAllison Avery vs. Ian RobinsonDominic Stanton and Laura Tate vs. Wanted: DOA, #1 Contender match for the AFW Tag TitlesJackson Shaw vs. Nathan HainesMason Hayes vs. Johnny RocketMaya Minh Sai vs. Georgia EaglesThe Marshall Family vs. The Academy VeteransManny Ramos vs. Ryan DonovanYou're not seeing things: Academy star Kasey Ryder is making her AFW debut in place of the injured Riley Montgomery, who was taken out of action last month by a brutal Jackhammer courtesy of Georgia Eagles. Kasey won't have to step into the ring against that sort of powerhouse, but she will square off with the Cajun Spitfire, as Carmen Latour aims to put the Academy rookie through her paces.
Allison Avery seems determined to test herself against the biggest and toughest that AFW has to offer... a defeat from Mason Hayes last month now brings her face-to-face with Ian Robinson, who's likely to make Allison work for every inch of offense she can muster. No doubt that Allison could turn the tables, though, and rumor has it that after her match with Mason, the two may have reached an agreement...
With the Spirit of Texas already having a challenger slated for next month, all we need to know is who will challenge the tag champs, Ryan Donovan and Nathan Haines. It'll be one of these two teams: as Wanted: DOA square off with the dual-powerhouse threat of Dominic Stanton and Laura Tate. Both may have fallen slightly short of their goal of capturing the titles, but one team will get a second chance with a win here.
Speaking of Nathan Haines, it appears Jackson Shaw isn't finished with the reigning tag champs, and has his sights set on Haines in a singles rematch. This one could be a major highlight of the night... both men have a claim to being the most talented on the AFW roster, and could certainly make a case for being the next challenger for the Spirit of Texas Championship... likely at Sky's the Limit.
Johnny Rocket may not be the Spirit of Texas Champion after Lance Marshall crushed him last month, but all it takes is one win to get his momentum back up and rolling again. Mason Hayes, though, could be out to stop the iconic junior cold... and no doubt, if rumor proves true, he may not be alone.
Georgia Eagles quickly bounced right back to what we know she's capable of last month when she wiped out Riley Montgomery with a Jackhammer. Now she steps into the ring with the brash, cocky Maya Minh Sai, whose only defeats as of late have come to only the best that AFW has to offer... ironically, the challenger and champion for next month. Can Maya weather the storm of power that Georgia's likely to throw her way?
AFW is the last of the Phoenix Rising affiliate feds to determine its trios representative... and not a moment too soon, as current scheduling seems to suggest that the first trios matchup will take place on next Monday's Showdown. Which team, though, will be slated to face the SFG: it'll either be the Marshall Family (Lance, Cassandra and Terra as a full unit), or the Academy Veterans (Diosa Syringa, Emma Travers and Sung Moon). Whoever wins, though, is in for a fight come Monday... this won't be an easy match no matter which side comes out on top.
Finally, Manny Ramos has already seemingly earned his chance at a rematch for the Spirit of Texas Championship. Next month, he'll once again face Lance Marshall in search of the championship that was taken from him and turned into AFW's inaugural championship... but Ryan Donovan, one-half of the reigning tag team champions, will be out to halt Ramos's momentum before that time comes. But if Ramos can come out on top here... he could be in line to take down Lance. Maybe.

Manny Ramos"No fucking around this time, I'm gonna get straight to the point: Ryan, you're not gonna stop me. I've been looking for my raisson d'etre, my goal in coming here to AFW. Something more than petty revenge. And now that I have it, I'm not going to let you, or your partner, take that away from me. Got it? I can see the glint of the glass ceiling from here, and I'm not gonna let anyone keep me from building up enough power to shatter it. And then, next month, I'll prove that there are giant killers in the junior division."

A wild one that wound up a little shorter than normal, but that's how it goes. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/980786014Youtube: youtu.be/ewRGdflsHe0Quick Results Carmen Latour def. Kasey Ryder Ian Robinson def. Allison Avery Wanted: DOA def. Dominic Stanton and Laura Tate Jackson Shaw def. Nathan Haines Mason Hayes def. Johnny Rocket Maya Minh Sai def. Georgia Eagles The Academy Veterans def. The Marshall Family Ryan Donovan def. Manny Ramos Write-ups For Kasey's first match outside of the Academy, she more than held her own. Still, Carmen Latour was not to be denied here, and she eventually took control and finished things off with a spectacular Shooting Star Press to score the win. This won't be the last time we see Kasey in AFW, I suspect. It's not clear just how or why this happened, but Allison Avery did not get anything going before Ian Robinson absolutely crushed her. Even with Mason Hayes at ringside, Allison just didn't have any answers here. Wanted: DOA haven't always been at the front of the AFW tag division, but they're certainly looking to take center stage with this win, as they were absolutely in charge for a long stretch in this match, their teamwork far superior to the relative newcomers that are Dominic and Laura. They'll challenge Nathan Haines and Ryan Donovan next month, as a result. Jackson Shaw remains an absolute force in the ring, and not even tag champion Nathan Haines could deny that tonight. Shaw's greatest weapon, his brutal Stretch Plum, was put to great effect here, and Jackson picked up a major victory, perhaps setting his sights on the tag titles before too long... or even bigger prizes. Mason Hayes did not endear himself to the fans in this one, pitted against the wildly popular Johnny Rocket... and just when it looked like Rocket was taking charge, Mason blasted him with a series of headbutts that busted Rocket open... and shortly thereafter, adding insult to injury, smashed him with a pair of brass knuckles to pick up the win. People have been hoping that Maya Minh Sai might learn some humility at some point in her AFW run. This match, however, might have had the opposite effect. Even as it looked like Georgia Eagles was in control, Maya simply wouldn't quit... and after a long, drawn-out fight, she managed to score the victory, and so she finds her ego getting that much bigger... The Academy trio came into this match as the severe underdogs, there was simply no way around that. A trio made up of the Marshalls... all very, very dangerous on their own, and including the Spirit of Texas Champion himself. But Syringa, Emma and Sung Moon did not back down from this tremendous challenge... overpowered, perhaps, but far from out-gunned as Syringa ultimately proved, rolling Terra into a flash pin and scoring the incredible upset victory. But can they keep a miracle run going as they challenge the SFG on Monday? Ryan Donovan had no interest in letting Manny Ramos look past him... delivering one hell of a beatdown in this match despite Ramos throwing everything he had at the tag champ. A vicious spinning kick practically took Ramos's head off, and Donovan came away with the win, but with both champion and challenger falling short this month... anything could be possible when Ramos meets Lance Marshall for the Spirit of Texas Championship.

The somewhat relentless schedule I've had over the last few weeks finally gets a bit of a break after Monday. But we've got to get through this card first. Silver Hawk vs. Hugo Dirksen
Lightning Cyclones vs. Les Beautes Blondes (Revon/Michelle)
Natasha Clover vs. Selisha
Besos vs. Haruka Matsura
Todd Colton vs. Kellaron Sentarl
The SFG vs. The Foundation (Syringa/Emma/Sung Moon)
Kaelara Sentarl vs. Shiana Sentarl
Ruthless Nicole Alger vs. Anari Lynn Heyward for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Kanjirin Tonorian vs. Eri Sentarl Kicking off the show is the Pacific Northwest division, which will see two men seeking to raise their stock in the rankings as they try to claim that title. Silver Hawk has been electric the last few times we've seen him, while Hugo Dirksen is still reeling from a loss to Natasha Clover last Showdown... can the Dutchman bounce back here? Layla Al-Amin and La Relampaga are back in tag action this week as they square off with the Blondes, as Revon Beauregard and Michelle Rochefort quickly seem to be establishing themselves as LBB's tag specialists (although do not discount either's ability in singles competition.) Still, it'll be tough for the French duo here against one of the most blisteringly fast teams in all of Phoenix Rising. Natasha Clover, as usual, has her eyes on the top spot of the Pacific Northwest division... after all, Anari Lynn Heyward's current reign has drawn her even with Natasha at three reigns total. Natasha can't stand the idea of someone being a bigger PNW Champion than herself... but challenging Selisha might be the most reckless way to try and push her way up the rankings... Haruka Matsura is equally aiming to rise through the ranks, as the Malevolent Triad try to bounce back from a brutal defeat at the hands of the returning SFG. But standing in Haruka's path is none other than Besos, who is definitely no stranger to the division... nor to being champion. Todd Colton is, simply put, on the warpath. Furious at being pushed aside time and time again, still determined to secure his World Championship match for Sky's the Limit, he's seemingly declared war on the Sentarl family and anyone allied with them... and his attention has fallen on Kellaron Sentarl this week. Expect both men to struggle to keep their arms up by the time this one's over, as both men are exceedingly skilled at working that limb. The first semifinal match for the Phoenix Rising Trios Championships will see the aforementioned SFG squaring off with the winners of Thursday's AFW trios match... the Foundation, formerly known as the Academy Veterans. Diosa Syringa, Emma Travers and Sung Moon have the biggest challenge of their young careers coming up... can they hold out against the most dominant force in Phoenix Rising's history? Shiana Sentarl had some brutally harsh words a few weeks ago when speaking to the World Champion, Eri Sentarl... and in-between calling out the champion, she glossed over Kaelara Sentarl, insisting that the youngest child of the family was nowhere close to Eri's level. Kaelara now has a chance to prove her mother wrong right here, and no doubt she's going to be pushing herself hard to get the win here. This is the biggest chance that Ruthless Nicole Alger has had for her singles career in a long while. She's risen up as challengers have fallen, and now she has a chance to knock Anari off the top spot herself, seeking to claim her first piece of singles gold right here... right on the heels of her tag partner, Candace Monroe, scoring a huge win to claim the SWA Prestige Championship. Can RNA equal Candace's feat against one of the most dominant PNW Champions in recent memory? Eri Sentarl came up hopelessly short against the first member of Pure Gold... as Mallory Spaulding absolutely wiped her out with pure, raw power. Now Eri is faced with an even bigger, tougher opponent... as Kanjirin Tonorian, the other half of Pure Gold, will absolutely be looking to keep the champion down and out, softening her up for the upcoming clash with Shiana...

A message from the Alger Family: Dangerous Nicholas Alger: Candace got hers. You jealous?
Ruthless Nicole Alger: Nah.
DNA: But you got your chance.
RNA: Yep.
DNA: Tough 'un tonight. You got a real champ here. But we drilled for this. Got you ready.
RNA: Did all we could. Anari's stronger. Can't beat her straight up. Gotta break her down. Wear her out. Make this work for me.
DNA: Gonna go show them the Alger style. Take her outta her game. Make her play yours. And take that arm home.
RNA: And that belt, too.
DNA: Yeah, that, too. Limbtakers and Belttakers, make it happen!

A night that I anticipated might go a bit faster than usual... then everyone said "No, why would you ever think that" Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/985721582Youtube: youtu.be/vBnhT0gGEQIQuick Results Silver Hawk def. Hugo Dirksen Les Beautes Blondes (Revon/Michelle) def. The Lightning Cyclones Natasha Clover def. Selisha Besos def. Haruka Matsura Kellaron Sentarl def. Todd Colton The Foundation def. The SFG Kaelara Sentarl def. Shiana Sentarl Anari Lynn Heyward def. Ruthless Nicole Alger to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Kanjirin Tonorian def. Eri Sentarl Write-ups A good sign of what was to come tonight: Silver Hawk broke out everything in his arsenal for this one, as Hugo Dirksen aimed to keep him down and grounded as much as possible. It wasn't to be, and the high-flyer eventually broke out with a huge flurry of offense, culminating in the Silver Star Press for the big win. As good as the Lightning Cyclones have been lately, it was Les Beautes Blondes that took center stage... specifically this time, Revon Beauregard. And while Michelle Rochefort certainly had her moments, Revon was the star of the show, eventually trapping Layla in his signature submission and scored the big win... and likely, put the Blondes back into contention for the tag titles, with a different set of members set to challenge the Dynawasps. This turned into an all-out slugfest in a hurry, with Natasha refusing to let up on her relentless offense, and Selisha looking to keep the match at a more grounded pace to work her submission magic. Natasha won out, though, pounding away with her signature Pummeling, and scored another important win as she aims to reclaim the Pacific Northwest Championship once again. The threat of Besos turned out to not be in her lips, but in her pure lucha style in this one... there was no hint of Besos trying to go for that familiar signature, just her pure technique and high-flying agility, and she absolutely took command late in this match to land a huge springboard to snap Haruka up for the victory. Todd Colton's vendetta against the Sentarl family has simmered for years, at this point... and it seemed to explode right here, as he challenged Kellaron Sentarl, and both men sought to rip the other's arms out of their sockets. Kellaron, though, seemed to have just that little extra in his tank compared to Todd... landing a crushing Backstabber, and scoring a hard-fought win, much to Todd's eternal frustration. The single toughest match that the Foundation has ever faced: stepping into the ring across from the SFG, the most dominant force in Phoenix Rising. And yet, fighting with everything they had, the veteran trio of Academy graduates would come out the other side with a colossal victory, as Sung Moon landed a Scissors Kick on Urani Whitemist, and the Foundation will go ahead to the championship match at next week's Evergreen. Kaelara Sentarl has had a few weeks to consider the words of her mother. Shiana clearly believes that Kae isn't at the same level as Eri... and Kaelara spent this entire match proving otherwise, as the two had an absolute all-out fight to the finish, neither wanting to give up an inch to the other, until Kaelara finally broke out the Kae Buster to score a massive victory. This was easily the toughest defense of any of Anari Lynn Heyward's reigns to date. RNA gave this one almost literally everything she had, fighting to lock in the Ruthless Armripper, almost exclusively seeking the devastating submission late in the match to try and finish things and take home the title. But Anari would not be denied... and the ref ultimately stopped this one as Anari wrenched RNA into the Torture Rack, aiming to prevent any further damage. Eri showed some serious heart against the colossal Kanjirin Tonorian, in one of the biggest size mis-matches in Phoenix Rising history. And she might've pulled it off, too, if not for the ropes and positioning... alas, Kanjirin's power ultimately won out, and the World Champion couldn't hold out any longer. Kaelara Sentarl "You know... I'm not going to lie, Eri has been better than me, over the past year or so. She's been out there pulling off some of the biggest wins of her career, and I haven't been living up to it, not by a long shot. Tonight, though? Tonight's where all of that changes. Eri's going to keep being the best, but I'm not going to be left behind, not anymore. My own mother wants to tell me I'm somehow less important, less talented, less deserving than Eri is... you think you're going to turn me against her, somehow? You think you're going to make me feel like I'm inferior?
All you did tonight, and last month, was galvanize me. All you did was make me determined to find that spark that I've been missing over the last couple of years. Looking for that strength, that willpower I had all the way back in AAW, and everywhere else I've traveled to. And I think I found at least some of that tonight, against you. So tell me, mom... do you still think I'm lagging behind? Do you still think that you or Eri are just so much better than I am?
I've got a new goal in mind for the rest of this year. I will have a match for the World Championship before 2021 is over. Mark my words... it doesn't matter who's got it when my time comes. But I will make it to the top."

It's Proving Ground again on Monday, and we're gonna decide who joins the Foundation in the trios final at next week's Evergreen... which has had the side effect of delaying the Inspire Championship match for an extra show, as one of the challengers is involved in said trios match. Leon Jaskulski vs. Rey de la Carne
Colt Whitfield vs. Chico Con Carne
Felice Santana and Riccardo De Luca vs. The Excellent Blades
Harley Brooks vs. HAYATO
Jessika Boom vs. Titania
Adrenaline Rush vs. The Gallego Twins
Mercedes Ortega vs. SATOMI
Sanya Markov vs. Golden Tiger
Oakland's Most Metal vs. The Pride of Scotland The newcomers continue to be tested here on Proving Ground, and Leon Jaskulski will be the opener this time around, taking on former Top Prospect and Proving Ground Tag Team Champion, Rey de la Carne. Can Leon find his first Proving Ground victory against the lucha stalwart? Fellow rookie Colt Whitfield will take on the other half of La Familia in Chico Con Carne. One of the hottest names in all of Proving Ground over the past year, Chico might have cooled off a little, but all it'd take is one solid victory to get him back into the mix at the top... and Colt might be the perfect opponent for that. It seems like Proving Ground is already setting the stage to determine who's going to be in line to challenge the new Proving Ground Tag Team Champions, the Yoshida Twins. With two tag matches on this show, one has to expect that the winners will be at the front of the line to take their shot... starting with one of the hottest teams Proving Ground's ever seen, taking on one of its longest-tenured duos. Felice and Riccardo will bring all of their speed and agility to bear, but can it measure up to the power and technique of the Blades? Harley Brooks seems determined to be the breakout talent of the Proving Ground newcomers, being the only one of the three with a victory to his name thus far... but HAYATO could very easily bring him back down to earth here, as the veteran talent sets his sights on the top spot of Proving Ground. Still, Harley's a serious talent that we've seen flashes of brilliance from in the early goings. Jessika Boom is in for a rough time. We haven't seen a lot of Titania lately, the big woman seemingly dropping off as of late... but she's back for this show, and almost certainly will be out to crush another high-flying member of the Inspire division. This match has a good chance to be absolutely electric. Adrenaline Rush has seen their fortunes turn around in a hurry lately, having won Wrestle Parade's tag tournament, not to mention scoring a major victory over the Wright Stuff. But now, they step into the ring with the Gallego Twins... and no doubt, this could lead to one of the best tag matches in recent memory, if both teams bring their best. Mercedes Ortega is out to prove something, and to that end, she's challenging none other than SATOMI... someone who's been drawing a lot of attention from outside of Phoenix Rising. SATOMI, though, is far from an easy target: if Mercedes wants to win here, she'll have to be on top of her game, and even then, SATOMI could shut her down. Sanya Markov continues to demand proper challengers, having crushed everyone in his path since winning the Top Prospect Championship, aside from a small mis-step against HAYATO... which he quickly avenged in a title defense. Golden Tiger, meanwhile, could be looking at his last opportunity for singles redemption before the Golden Ambush withdraws to tag work again... if Tiger can win here, there may yet be a future for him on his own. Capping off the night, the second semifinal match of the Trios Championship... Evergreen's representatives, Oakland's Most Metal, are certainly no strangers to trios work at this point, having reached the finals of another trios tournament recently before falling in the finals. Meanwhile, the Pride of Scotland, Proving Ground's own, are a newer, fresher team... only one of these trios can win here, and move on to the finals at Evergreen next Thursday, to take on the Foundation. Who will be crowned the champions?

A wild night saw some upsets, some brawls, and the final contenders decided for Thursday night's show. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/994043219Youtube: youtu.be/053Hfw6onZ8Quick Results Rey de la Carne def. Leon Jaskulski Colt Whitfield def. Chico Con Carne The Excellent Blades def. Riccardo De Luca and Felice Santana HAYATO def. Harley Brooks Titania def. Jessika Boom Adrenaline Rush def. The Gallego Twins Mercedes Ortega def. SATOMI Golden Tiger def. Sanya Markov Oakland's Most Metal def. The Pride of Scotland Write-ups Proving Ground's become well-known for its red-hot openers, and this one didn't disappoint either, with Leon taking the fight to Rey de la Carne. Still, the former Top Prospect and tag champ was on top of this one, and after his usual antics, the Carne de Res Especial scored a win, much to Leon's dismay. Colt Whitfield took command early on by keeping things grounded, but nearly lost control late when Chico began to pick up momentum. Colt would eventually get back on track, laying Chico out with an Implant DDT, but it would seem Colt's likely to see a little bit of extra training in the near future. As fast and efficient as Riccardo and Felice have been, experience would be the deciding factor here, as Proving Ground's longest-tenured duo eventually took control. Donna Nobel landed a crushing Pyramid Driver, and the Blades score a major victory, as they seek to become the first challengers to the new tag champions, the Yoshida Twins. This match suddenly broke out into one of the most brutal of the night, as HAYATO unleashed back-to-back HAYATO Drivers... Harley would answer back with a crushing piledriver, only for HAYATO to land ANOTHER HAYATO Driver. Still, none of this would end the match... a vicious combo from HAYATO appeared to be setting up for the Tachibana Special, but instead HAYATO went up top, and delivered a flying kick to seal the win. This was Titania finally back in her element: seeking to wipe out a high-flyer. And that's exactly what she did, despite Jessika Boom's best efforts, and a brutal sequence leading into the Iron Claw would put this one away and put Titania back on track where everyone knows she excels. Adrenaline Rush are very quickly re-establishing themselves as one of Proving Ground's top teams. This was no exception, as they took the Gallego Twins past their limits, and Tommy Thunder would land his devastating Thunderstruck DDT off the top rope, scoring a huge victory. Mercedes Ortega has put the entire Inspire division on notice with this win... throwing herself into an almost reckless attack on SATOMI, she came away with a huge victory, eventually snapping up SATOMI with a quick flash pin, potentially putting her in line to try and challenge Anna Bryant. Golden Tiger's singles career (along with Tigress's) hasn't exactly been the most sterling one. But with the backing of the rest of the Ambush, interfering on his behalf, Tiger managed to score maybe the biggest singles win he's ever gotten... over the Top Prospect Champion himself. Oakland's Most Metal will not be denied. After a long, drawn-out brawl with the Pride of Scotland, the Evergreen trio finally came out ahead, with Rebecca Andrews finally scoring the decisive blow, flying at Leona Sterling with a brutal Superman Punch to score the win, and cement their place in the finals against the Foundation.

It's about to be a major landmark night for Evergreen this month, with three championship matches slated for this show... as we finally crown Phoenix Rising's inaugural Trios Champions. Iris Coleman vs. Sabrina
Eddy Introspect vs. Julian Shepard
Crimson Romance vs. El Verde
Strawberry Sookie vs. Freya O'Malley
Andrea "Fire" Hawke vs. Jennifer Hunter
Ash Defiant vs. Mercy Devine
Argent and Binak Tonorian vs. Kelly Wolfe and Victoria Fox for the Evergreen Tag Team Championships
KyO vs. Elly Blackwood for the Evergreen Championship
The Foundation vs. Oakland's Most Metal for the Phoenix Rising Trios Championships Kicking off the night in a spot that Iris is fairly accustomed to by now, she'll be squaring off with Sabrina as both aim to find their way into a winning streak. Sabrina might find her focus a bit limited, however, with KyO challenging later in the night to try and become Evergreen Champion... though Sabrina won't be at ringside for that match. eMo's got a busy night ahead of them, and Eddy Introspect will start things off against Julian Shepard, as the surprisingly-crafty eMo member looks to score another victory... although one can imagine he'll be hoping for a more decisive win rather than having to slip away with a close one. Crimson Romance seeks a big win right here as they take on perennial favorites El Verde. This could prove to be a contender's match of sorts, seeing the winner potentially challenging the Evergreen tag champions next... but a lot can happen before that day comes. Former Evergreen Champion Strawberry Sookie would love to rise back up and reclaim her title... but for this show, she's got to get through the incredible Freya O'Malley. While Freya fell short in her contender's match last month (eventually won by KyO), there's no doubt that Freya's on the verge of a huge breakout any day now... and having already scored a win over Elly Blackwood to claim the victory in last year's 50-state tournament, it could just be a matter of time before Freya stands at the top. Andrea Hawke came within inches of being the #1 contender last month before dropping to KyO at the last second. Jennifer Hunter, meanwhile, has found a bit of an up-and-down trajectory lately... but a win here could set Hunter back on track, and with rumors floating around that Hunter may be looking to find allies here in Evergreen, could she be looking for a big break herself? Ash Defiant might be cementing herself near the top of Evergreen as of late, and this match could be the final bit of proof she needs. Mercy Devine, however, isn't one to let anyone rise up without proving they're worth her time... and so, Mercy challenges Defiant herself, to see just how ready Ash might be for a shot at the big-time. The first championship match of the night will see easily the toughest match that Fox and Wolfe have faced in their young careers. The colossal duo of Argent and Binak are here with their eyes on the Evergreen Tag Team Championships, and it's going to take literally everything that the champions have if they want to retain here... Elly Blackwood isn't writing this match off. KyO weathered three of Evergreen's best to get to this point, and if he brings his absolute best against Elly, we could see a major upset and a new champion. But we've seen what Elly Blackwood can do when her back is against the wall... and with the championship on the line, will she show any hint of buckling? Capping off the night, we finally crown the Trios Champions for the entire Phoenix Rising organization. Evergreen earned the honor of the inaugural championship match... while AFW will get the second one next month. The Foundation scored two of the biggest upsets imaginable: taking down the Marshalls on AFW, and moving on to defeat the SFG on Showdown against all odds. Oakland's Most Metal, meanwhile, fought through eMo and the Pride of Scotland to get here, and now that they're on their home turf... can anything stop them? Or will the Foundation score yet another incredible victory to become the first-ever Trios Champions?

Truly, a wild night with plenty of action... three championship matches, which all had their highlights. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/997600413Youtube: youtu.be/i4BvYS-oIFAQuick Results Iris Coleman def. Sabrina Julian Shepard def. Eddy Introspect El Verde def. Crimson Romance Freya O'Malley def. Strawberry Sookie Jennifer Hunter def. Andrea Hawke Ash Defiant def. Mercy Devine Argent and Binak Tonorian def. Kelly Wolfe and Victoria Fox to become the NEW Evergreen Tag Team Champions Elly Blackwood def. KyO to retain the Evergreen Championship The Foundation def. Oakland's Most Metal to become the FIRST-EVER Phoenix Rising Trios Champions! Write-ups An absolutely electric opener that saw Sabrina go face-to-face with Iris, brawling right up to the end when Iris landed a huge spinning brainbuster, finally keeping Sabrina down for three after a grueling match. One thing we've learned tonight: never count Sabrina (or KyO) out against anyone... they'll make a fight of it against seemingly anyone. Julian Shepard has been showing flashes of the man that once held the Evergreen Championship, and this could be a sign of his resurgence... still, he had to work a bit for this one, as Eddy Introspect wasn't going quietly until Julian hit two of his biggest moves back-to-back. Eternamente Verde was clearly not in any mood to be here longer than she had to be tonight... El Verde wound up dismantling Crimson Romance on the back of a huge combo from Verde, consisting of a diving corner stomp, followed by a Stardust Press, and snapping off a Magistral for good measure. Sookie tried to slow down the surging Freya O'Malley, but not even the former champion seemed able to stop the Giant-Killer's momentum, as Freya weathered a brawl on the outside to land a Batten Kill tigerdriver and score a huge win. Could she be looking for a shot at the Evergreen Champion soon? This one was a shootout right to the end, with Andrea and Jennifer putting everything they had into the fight. But Hunter, tenacious as ever, refused to quit... and a huge diving stomp scored a somewhat shocking win, turning the tide and giving her a major victory. Mercy Devine tried her best to keep Ash Defiant down, landing three Devine Intervention DDTs throughout the match... but Ash did not stop coming. A wild, all-out brawl led to Ash landing a final Defiant Bomb, and scoring the win over the Evergreen boss, perhaps putting Ash front-and-center to challenge for the Evergreen Championship. This was nowhere near the total stomping that everyone expected, but the champions were definitely not the favorites going into this one, and for good reason. Despite enduring plenty of offense from Argent and Binak, Fox and Wolfe just couldn't hold out forever, and a crushing Ax Guillotine Driver from Binak spelled the end of the reign, and the beginning of what may be an unbeatable era. Going into this match, one could be forgiven for thinking that Elly Blackwood would crush the challenger, and find herself waiting for her next challenger. KyO, however, proved he was not a man to be looked past, and gave Elly perhaps the single toughest match of her Evergreen career, nearly taking the victory on multiple occasions before Elly managed to land a final brainbuster and score the win. Still, KyO absolutely raised his stock even in defeat... The underdogs in every trios match they faced leading up to the championship: the Foundation should have been outmatched at every turn, should have been no match for the Marshalls, for the SFG... and for Oakland's Most Metal. But this trio has proven, time and again, that they just might be the greatest trio in all of Phoenix Rising, going face-to-face with one of the most iconic groups in Evergreen... and Sung Moon, taking charge once more, landed a huge Book End and scored the biggest win of the Foundation's careers, becoming the inaugural Trios Champions. Just as everyone expected, right?

Before we get into Monday's card... some words from the reigning World Champion. Eri Sentarl "The last couple of weeks, I knew there was always going to be the chance that Anari wasn't going to be able to step in as the last opponent before the championship match. I had a feeling, from the start, that she was gonna wind up still being Pacific Northwest Champion by the time we got here, and... well, I'm more than happy that she did. She's making that title her own, tearing it up every single match, proving she's one of the best around here. But it does leave me having to wonder... if I can't have her face my mother, like Listalva and Kaelara before, then who else can I turn to? Both mom and dad made a very clear promise that their match in the first Grand Ascension would be the only time they ever faced each other in a match... I'm not about to bring Kellaron into this, because he's got his own business he's handling alongside Victor. The direct family is all out of the question...
But after thinking about it, for the past couple of weeks, ever since Anari defended her title again and made the choice necessary... I think I finally got the picture. A couple of months back, Kileas made a big deal about the past coming back... and while I'm not about to steal his idea and ask Winifred, who I'm sure wouldn't bother even thinking about humoring me... there is one person, one single wrestler on the Showdown roster that has more history with Shiana Sentarl than literally anyone else in all of Phoenix Rising.
When you started your career, you went under a mask... as the White Dragon. And while that didn't last long, you carried that spirit for a long time. I know that much for sure, because I know exactly the point you lost it. The exact moment you lost your final connection to that old persona, the day you abandoned the spirit of the dragon once and for all. January 6, 2020, the night you turned your back on everything you stood for, years of being the hero, my hero... wiped out in an instant the moment you threw that superkick at Laenara.
But if you want any chance of walking out a winner this Monday, then you'd better find that spirit soon. Nothing less than your best is gonna do. Because I remembered, over these two weeks... I do have one more family member I can ask for help. I do have one last person I can turn to when there's no other options left on the table. And we've reached an agreement to make this happen.
So while I'll be facing Yuki Maeda on Monday... an icon, a living legend in her own right... you're getting the main event. And if you can re-capture any of what made you one of the best ever, then it'll be Dragon vs. Dragon.
Your opponent at Showdown this week will be the Black Dragon... so good luck to you. Once we come out the other side of this, all that'll be left is you and me. And if she can't knock some sense into you, mom... then I'll finish the job myself. I'm not going to lose this title to you. I'm not going to let this keep going.
I'm bringing my mother back." Silver Hawk vs. Markos Andreas
Natasha Clover vs. Besos
The Muscle Machines vs. Mystery Team?
Fenix Oscuro vs. Layla Al-Amin
Todd Colton vs. Candace Monroe
Yuki Maeda vs. Eri Sentarl
The GOAT vs. Firehawk Sentarl and Kileas Kintelas
Kyle Anderson vs. Anari Lynn Heyward for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Shiana Sentarl vs. The Black Dragon Kicking off the night, Pacific Northwest division action sees Silver Hawk intent on continuing to rise through the ranks, continuing to be one of the division's top talents as he sets his sights on Markos Andreas. Markos may not have found all the results he's wanted, but make no mistake, he's still one of the most dangerous men on Showdown. Natasha Clover's path towards the Pacific Northwest Championship is one she's hoping will lead her to the current champion, Anari Lynn Heyward... but a lot of things have to fall together for her to get what she wants. First thing's first: Besos, who could very easily be a major roadblock to Natasha as she looks for one more PNW reign. The Muscle Machines are back, but who on earth are they being put up against? Word has it that it won't be the SFG, that it's not being set up as a deliberate "destroy the Machines" match... but who could possibly wind up stepping in against the dysfunctional duo? Fenix Oscuro has found herself taking an active role less and less lately, especially since the reveal that the current Oscuro is not the same woman who terrorized Phoenix Rising for the better part of two years. Still, we know she's dangerous, and we know she might be capable of giving the Cairo Cyclone a fight here... but Layla will be after a major victory here, too. Todd Colton is beyond frustrated lately. The more he struggles, the more it seems like his bravado in demanding a World Championship match for Sky's the Limit seems out of reach... but could he bounce back against one-half of the Limbtakers? Or will Candace Monroe, newly-crowned SWA Prestige Champion, continue Todd's slump? The last match for the World Champion before she makes her next defense: Eri Sentarl squares off against a true veteran in Yuki Maeda, the second-in-command of Vindication. Eri struggled against both members of Pure Gold, but with Yuki being less of an overwhelming presence, can Eri pull off a win before the clash with Shiana? This is a battle of past vs. future, sons vs. fathers... the self-proclaimed GOAT against a duo that could argue to truly be the GOAT. Kellaron and Victor step into the ring against their fathers for the first time ever... and no doubt, at this point, the winners could find themselves in line to challenge the Dynawasps, though they'll likely have to argue with LBB over that spot... Anari Lynn Heyward's current run with the Pacific Northwest Championship has been an incredible one. Her fourth defense of the title comes against Five Star Kyle... Kyle Anderson is out to prove himself at the top of the division, but against a surging Anari, does he really have what it takes? You're not seeing things: and Eri certainly set the stage with her fiery words. It's been quite some time since these two crossed paths, easily over a year, but fate seems determined to bring the former dragon back into conflict with the true Dragon, time and time again. Shiana Sentarl once again steps into the ring across from the most dominant World Champion in Phoenix Rising's history... but what is the deal that Eri struck in order to secure her help? Family they might be, but no doubt the Dragon will have added something to the deal that could complicate Eri's life before long...

A seriously wild one tonight, a handful of spectacular matches and a couple of surprising arrivals. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1002365372Youtube: youtu.be/XzgOEZnib7oQuick Results Silver Hawk def. Markos Andreas Besos def. Natasha Clover The Muscle Machines def. Telan and Aria Kintelas Layla Al-Amin def. Fenix Oscuro Todd Colton def. Candace Monroe Yuki Maeda def. Eri Sentarl Firehawk Sentarl and Kileas Kintelas def. The GOAT Kyle Anderson def. Anari Lynn Heyward to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion The Black Dragon def. Shiana Sentarl Bonus: Tina Remington def. Rachel White Write-ups Tradition demands it: Phoenix Rising openers are red-hot, and Silver Hawk absolutely brought it here against Markos Andreas, pulling off one hell of a win to start off the night. Besos became the roadblock that keeps Natasha Clover from rising further up the ranks, stopping her cold and continuing a red-hot run. Besos is only a few spots off of challenging for the Pacific Northwest Championship... right behind two members of Les Beautes Blondes, and Rachel White. As it turned out, the "mystery team" involved Telan Kintelas... and, as it happened, none other than his own daughter, Aria. And while Aria would eventually be beaten by Gary Gear at the end, she was more than impressive in her Phoenix Rising debut, and we're sure to see more of her soon as she's signed to Proving Ground. The Cairo Cyclone remains one of the top names on Showdown, and proved it here against Fenix Oscuro, who simply didn't seem to have an answer for Layla. She managed to score a token Shining Wizard, but Layla took command and finished this one in a hurry with a Cannonball Senton. Todd Colton finally gets himself back on the board with a win here, scoring big against Candace Monroe, seemingly in charge for most of this match. Still, he doesn't seem likely to get what he's after for Sky's the Limit, even after this victory... Eri held up as long as she could against Yuki Maeda, but power won out once again over the World Champion, who struggled to bring most of her offense to bear against the veteran. Shut out by Vindication, can Eri bounce back and retain her title against Shiana in two weeks? It was the veterans that won out this time, with the father vs. son face-off going in favor of the fathers this time around. Kileas once again proved the anchor of the team, and he scored the win with an Implant DDT on Kellaron... though he shared very little ring time with Victor throughout the match, it seemed. One of the best Pacific Northwest Championship reigns in recent memory finally comes to an end at defense #4, as Anari gave this one her all but couldn't quite overcome Kyle Anderson, who went big to finish this one, throwing Anari from the top rope with a colossal suplex that scored him the championship. Shiana certainly didn't hold much back here against the Dragon... but it wasn't enough, not through the fireballs, facelocks, and crushing bearhugs. Dragon comes up with a major victory once again, and we're left wondering what sort of deal Eri struck with the former champion to get this match to happen. And with the show going a bit faster than usual, one last bonus match came courtesy of Valkyrie Pro... and you could be forgiven for thinking this was deja vu, as newly-signed Tina Remington would win her match in the same fashion as her Phoenix Rising counterpart, Todd Colton: a drop toe hold into a quick, crafty flash pin!

Proving Ground is next in line right now, so we've got some stuff lined up. Rin Ryusaki vs. SATOMI
Harley Brooks and Colt Whitfield vs. La Familia
Leon Jaskulski vs. Nick MacLeod
Aria Kintelas vs. Katherine White
White Hot vs. The Pride of Scotland (Leona/Corsaria)
Rafael Gallego vs. HAYATO
Fresh Suzuki vs. Anna Bryant for the Inspire Championship
Adrenaline Rush vs. The Excellent Blades, #1 Contender's Match
Golden Tiger vs. Sanya Markov for the Top Prospect Championship Kicking off the show this week are two of the best in the Inspire division, with Rin Ryusaki squaring off with SATOMI. Rin's flying solo as her tag partner gets her shot at a rematch for the Inspire Championship, an opportunity she earned at episode 76 by defeating current champion Anna Bryant... and now Rin will aim to prove herself just as capable against a former champion in SATOMI. Harley and Colt don't always see eye-to-eye, but they're set to team up for this match against La Familia, hoping to establish themselves as a part of Proving Ground's tag division. Neither has seen too much success in singles competition thus far, but tag action could be their ticket to the top... if Rey and Chico don't shut them down out of the gate here. Leon Jaskulski continues to seek a victory, but this one might be a rough test for the Polish Badger. Nick MacLeod is fresh off of a frustrating loss to Oakland's Most Metal, and now seems more than determined to fight his way back up the Top Prospect ladder, with his obvious goal being to claim the championship... and Leon might be the right stepping stone to make that happen. Aria Kintelas made a stunning debut on last week's Showdown, and while she fell to the Muscle Machines alongside her father, Telan, she definitely made a major impact. Now she settles into her proper home in Phoenix Rising, making her Proving Ground debut against Katherine White, who seems to have become one of the most common opponents for newcomers... does she have what it takes to stand up to the fledgling powerhouse that is Aria? We haven't seen or heard a lot from White Hot as of late, but that's set to change right here, as they take on the women of the Pride of Scotland. Leona Sterling and La Corsaria are just as frustrated with falling short in their pursuit of the Trios Championships... but can they turn it around against Rei and Keiko? Rafael Gallego is still looking for his breakout moment, and there may not be a better opponent to help raise his stock than HAYATO, who's been electric as of late. There's little doubt in anyone's mind right now that whoever wins between these two could have a fast-track towards the Top Prospect... but with the next defense likely at Sky's the Limit, there's still a lot of time left to determine who's the best. Fresh Suzuki is getting her rematch. Five months after losing the Inspire Championship to Anna Bryant at New Year's Bash, Fresh gets another shot in a big-time rubber match: Anna won their first meeting to win the title, but Fresh won a few weeks back to earn this shot. Can Fresh Suzuki do it again, and pull off a feat that nobody on Proving Ground has ever managed... and become the first-ever two-time Inspire Champion? It would appear that there's a huge shot in line for episode 79, likely the final Proving Ground championship match until Sky's the Limit arrives in June. One of these two teams will earn their shot at the Yoshida Twins... Adrenaline Rush and the Excellent Blades have both proven to be near the top of the division lately, and this is where they prove who the better team truly is. Capping off the night, perhaps the most unlikely challenger for Sanya Markov's Top Prospect Championship has arrived... with Golden Tiger, flanked by both of his partners in the Golden Ambush, scoring a huge victory over the champion. But Tiger can't rely on Tigress and Reina this week... as usual, Phoenix Rising championship matches are always contested with nobody at ringside. Can Tiger repeat his incredible feat? Can he beat the Russian again, with no backup? Or will Sanya's Red Crush leave yet another challenger broken in his wake?
