With Proving Ground coming up on Monday, we've got plenty to look at... including a bold challenge by the Top Prospect, seeking to push his reign to new heights. Hikari Ueno vs. Brianna Tierney
Akira Ryusaki vs. Golden Tiger The Excellent Blades vs. Riccardo De Luca and Felice Santana Angela Rothenberg vs. Titania Rafael Gallego vs. Nick MacLeod Winter Fresh vs. White Hot Katherine White vs. Leona Sterling vs. Gabriela Gallego
Rilantha De Nav vs. Sanya Markov
Adrenaline Rush vs. The Yoshida TwinsHikari Ueno scored the biggest win of her young career last time out, scoring a victory over Calista Vargas in dominant fashion. She'll look to keep her momentum hot, stepping into the ring with fellow Academy graduate Brianna Tierney... and could leverage another win into a shot at the Inspire Championship, potentially.
With Golden Tigress's foray into singles competition proving disastrous after a loss to Katherine White, Golden Tiger will take over and attempt to be the one that steps up as he looks to bring singles gold back to the Golden Ambush. Standing in his way this week will be Akira Ryusaki, coming off of a hard-fought match with Rilantha De Nav... Tiger's far more vicious and brutal than his tag partner, and that could be the edge he needs against Akira.
One of Proving Ground's most enduring teams, the Excellent Blades, will step into the ring with one of its newest duos, Riccardo and Felice. This one will be wild... as the Blades bring their mixture of power and technique against the blistering pace that Riccardo and Felice bring into play.
Raw power clashes here as Angela Rothenberg squares off with Titania, both vying to raise their stock in the Inspire division, hoping to be the next in line to take on Anna Bryant and claim the title. Angela has a bit of a size advantage here, but Titania has the experience and record where Angela lacks it...
Rafael Gallego just might have his sights set on the Top Prospect. With the Gallego twins seemingly working towards singles glory for the moment, Rafael goes head-to-head with Nick MacLeod, and the big Scot is almost certain to make this a rough one for the former Pajaro de Fuego.
It's a first-time matchup for these two teams, finally crossing paths on Proving Ground. White Hot, the rising stars, will take on Winter Fresh, the established, experienced duo... a match that could be one of the toughest that Keiko and Rei have faced yet. Can White Hot even hope to keep pace with the mega-stars that are Winter Fresh?
This could very well be a de facto #1 contender's match. Three talented women square off in search of the next big shot at Anna Bryant, each riding a wave of momentum that could easily carry them to championship gold... with Katherine White on a roll as of late, Leona Sterling looking like a new woman, and Gabriela Gallego making it very clear that she's still every bit as dangerous as she ever was as Fenix Oscuro... who will come out on top?
Sanya Markov has issued a colossal challenge for this week's show. As he's swept through nearly every match that's come his way since becoming Top Prospect, he's demanded a match with perhaps the single toughest wrestler on the Proving Ground roster... and so, the Russian will clash with one of Phoenix Rising's greatest veterans in Rilantha De Nav. Ril's made it clear she has little intention of challenging for Sanya's title... but could that change with this match?
Closing out the night, we have Wrestle Parade's top tag team... as we witnessed earlier this week, watching Adrenaline Rush win their tag team tournament to become the champions. They'll step into the ring with the Yoshida Twins in this week's main event, looking to ride a wave of momentum that could very well carry them to perhaps another set of tag titles... could Adrenaline Rush be hitting their stride as a team? Could they be on the verge of greatness?

This week's Proving Ground was just plain intense, start to finish. There were a couple of standout showings, but this was a fiercely competitive show, by and large. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/942613212Youtube: youtu.be/NM_-4aba23YQuick Results Hikari Ueno def. Brianna Tierney Akira Ryusaki def. Golden Tiger Riccardo De Luca and Felice Santana def. The Excellent Blades Angela Rothenberg def. Titania Nick MacLeod def. Rafael Gallego Winter Fresh def. White Hot Leona Sterling def. Katherine White and Gabriela Gallego Rilantha De Nav def. Sanya Markov The Yoshida Twins def. Adrenaline Rush Write-ups As has become so common, this was a hot opener for Proving Ground, but it definitely showed the gap between Hikari Ueno and many of the other recent Academy graduates. She was in charge for the most part here, eventually leveling Brianna Tierney with a running boot. The Golden Ambush's foray into singles competition might be in jeopardy at this point, after this match. While Tiger seemed like he was in control, some serious lapses in judgment by Tigress on the outside led to Akira being able to come back and get the win. The Ambush may not want to go for the numbers game in their next singles attempt... if it ever happens again. The fastest team on Proving Ground does it again, with an absolutely relentless attack that saw them triumph over the Excellent Blades. Felice Santana was a strategic genius tonight, finding her moment as Nicole Blade was thrown to the outside, and a quick rana to Donna Nobel would give her team the victory. Has Titania ever been beaten down like this? Angela Rothenberg was an absolute monster in the ring tonight, and may very well have signaled a changing of the guard... she absolutely dominated here, leaving Titania in much the same state that the Blue Bomber typically leaves her opponents. A brutal spiking chokeslam put Titania down hard, and she may have to accept she's no longer the biggest and strongest of the Inspire division... As much as Rafael Gallego tried here, Nick MacLeod simply would not let up, displaying incredible raw power en route to his victory here, culminating in his brutal powerbomb-backbreaker. The powerful Scot may be in line to challenge Sanya Markov next, but there's still time before the next Top Prospect defense... Winter Fresh once again showed their experience and teamwork over a younger team, though White Hot certainly put up one hell of a fight to the end. Rin Ryusaki, however, wasn't about to walk away without the victory... first lining up a vicious Rewind kick to Rei Hasegawa, and then wrenching the dazed young star into a submission that forced an almost immediate tapout. It took a long time for anyone to exit this match, with all three women determined to outlast the others. But Katherine White finally spotted her opportunity when Leona Sterling was thrown to the outside, wrenching Gabriela Gallego into a flying armbar that forced her to submit... but then, she had to deal with Leona, one-on-one. And the Scottish MMA star simply wasn't going to be denied, wrenching Katherine into her signature guillotine choke, and leaving the upstart Katherine nearly out cold on the mat, putting Leona on the fast track towards challenging Anna Bryant... the very woman responsible for ending her run as Academy Champion nearly two years ago. This was, pure and simple, two of the best that Phoenix Rising has to offer bringing their best against each other. Sanya Markov proved, beyond any doubt, just how dangerous he can truly be... and Rilantha De Nav proved that she's still every bit as much of a threat as she's ever been, enduring everything the Russian had to throw at her, and eventually snapping off a quick Flatliner to score the hard-won pinfall. Still, Sanya went a solid twenty minutes with one of Phoenix Rising's icons... and seeing as Ril has no intention of challenging for his title, can anyone stop Sanya now? This intense tag match closed out the night, and the Yoshidas were clearly out to prove something against Wrestle Parade's newest champions. Adrenaline Rush, though, definitely showed why they won that tournament last week, putting the Yoshidas through their paces, with Nic Nitro having Naoko beaten multiple times... if only he'd been the legal man. It'd be Shiori, in the end, that'd finish this match, landing an Air Raid Crash on Tommy Thunder, and the Yoshidas slipped away with the victory, perhaps seeking redemption by challenging the Rising Storm once again... this time, perhaps, with the tag titles on the line.

AFW's already rolling around for another go this Thursday, so let's take a look at the card... as if you didn't already know the headlining matches already, after last month. Sung Moon vs. Carmen Latour
Blanche Wesson-Smith vs. Emma Travers
Riley Montgomery vs. Georgia Eagles
Dominic Stanton and Laura Tate vs. The Marshall Sisters
Kass the Stampede vs. Diosa Syringa
Allison Avery vs. Mason Hayes
Maya Minh Sai vs. Manny Ramos
Johnny Rocket vs. Lance Marshall for the Spirit of Texas Championship
Ian Robinson and Jackson Shaw vs. Nathan Haines and Ryan Donovan for the AFW Tag Team ChampionshipsStarting things off, it's two quickly-rising stars, as Sung Moon squares off with Carmen Latour. The Cajun Spitfire's been a highlight of AFW so far, but faced with the young Korean, she may find this match tougher than most... especially seeing as Moon has been exceptional lately outside of her loss to #1 contender Johnny Rocket (which nobody should ever, ever be ashamed of.) Wanted: DOA has had an up-and-down run in AFW so far, but this could be a matchup that falls well into their wheelhouse. Two separate singles matches against the Academy veterans, starting with Blanche Wesson-Smith taking on Emma Travers... it'll be a test to see if Emma can keep pace with Blanche in this one. Riley Montgomery has hit a bit of a stumbling block lately. Her AFW run has stalled out a bit, and her constant demands towards Freya O'Malley finally got her the match she desired... a match Freya ultimately won, avenging her loss last year. Now Riley looks to get herself back on track against a massive wall of an opponent... Georgia Eagles. There's no doubt that the duo of Dominic Stanton and Laura Tate gained some serious popularity last month, and when they fell short of the tag title match, the disappointment in the crowd could be felt. They'll get another shot here, though, to make a name for themselves... if they can stand up to the always-dangerous Marshalls, who were shockingly unable to come away with the title match as well. This might be a sharp contrast from the other matchup between these two teams... with Kass the Stampede being a much more serious, focused competitor, and Syringa often coming out far more dangerous than appearances would suggest. There's no telling how this one may turn out, but the motivation will be there for both sides... one looking for a sweep, the other trying to avoid it. Allison Avery was absolutely dominant last month when she wiped out Riley Montgomery... and so, she sets her sights on bigger and tougher fare in Mason Hayes. Mason's been a shining representative of what AFW's all about... a big man that's completely no-nonsense in the ring. But we'll see whether he can hold out against the Lariat Queen of Little Rock... Maya Minh Sai's attitude has definitely raised the ire of many since her arrival in AFW, and Manny Ramos can be counted among them. Both are brash, outspoken, cocky... and now, they'll get a chance to settle whatever differences might be between them, as Maya looks to remain at the top of AFW, hoping to get another shot at the Spirit of Texas Championship. We've known this match was coming for a while, now. It was inevitable that two of Houston's finest would square off with each other... as Johnny Rocket finally gets the title shot that everyone knew he'd earn sooner or later. But Lance Marshall has looked near-invincible since AFW opened its doors... still, neither man here has lost inside of an AFW ring yet, and that means whoever leaves this match with the championship will be, without the shadow of a doubt, the best in AFW. Finally, capping off the night, we crown AFW's first-ever tag team champions, titles with a name to be determined soon. These two teams earned their way to the top, earning the right to face each other to become inaugural champions... the raw power of Jackson Shaw and Ian Robinson clashing with the more straightforward styles of Ryan Donovan and Nathan Haines. There's not much else to say about this one: may the best team win. Maya Minh Sai "Don't think I've forgotten about your comments from a couple months back. Don't think I'll ever forget. Because I'm going to make this absolutely clear: from day one, I've been one of the top talents in AFW, and there's not a single person on this roster or in management that can deny that. So I lost to Lance. If I was going to just hang my head and walk away because I had one setback, I wouldn't belong here. But it's people like you, Ramos, people that insist that I could never be AFW's best, that I could never stand at the top... you're the sort of person that fuels me and makes me look to keep succeeding out of spite. I'm better than everyone here. I'll prove it, time and time again, show just how many people are past their prime, ready for me to run right past them. You're just next in line to fall."

Manny Ramos"Hm? My comments? Oh, you mean how I said that unless you take Lance seriously, you won't beat him! Riiiight. Heh, maybe you should get that chip off your shoulder - seems like it's got you off balance. Must be giving you vertigo or something. Memory issues, too, 'cause it seems to me like you're putting a whole bunch of words in my mouth. Where did I ever say you can never be the best? Nah, I don't think that. Far from it. You've got potential, lots of it. You're a talented wrestler as it is now. I'm not gonna be such an asshole that I'm going to ignore that... But, and here's the important bit, you haven't got the experience to back up your talent, and that was why that belt's not around your waist today. Remember what else I said? Remember what I warned you about after you earned your spot as the top contender? Respect is key. The way you win on a top level is by respecting what the other guy can do, because that respect shows you recognize how they can exploit your weaknesses. Ramp yourself up with spite aaaall you want... But don't delude yourself into thinking I don't recognize game. And don't delude yourself into thinking that the guy on the other side of the ring is going to just stick to the same old game plan against you - not when you've made it clear you don't wanna do your research.
"You want that title from Lance? Or from Johnny Rocket? Earn it, babe. Just realize you're gonna have to go through me to get it, and I'm not gonna take it easy on you just 'cause I have the edge in experience."

There were some downright brutal matches tonight in AFW... and some people are looking unbelievably strong coming out of the show. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/946183323Youtube: youtu.be/A6BCuGiLvTMQuick Results Carmen Latour def. Sung Moon Blanche Wesson-Smith def. Emma Travers Georgia Eagles def. Riley Montgomery The Marshall Sisters def. Dominic Stanton and Laura Tate Kass the Stampede def. Diosa Syringa Mason Hayes def. Allison Avery Manny Ramos def. Maya Minh Sai Lance Marshall def. Johnny Rocket to retain the Spirit of Texas Championship Ryan Donovan and Nathan Haines def. Ian Robinson and Jackson Shaw to become the INAUGURAL AFW Tag Team Champions Write-ups An opener with an absolutely blistering pace courtesy of Carmen, who simply never let up for a second and eventually plowed right through Sung Moon, picking up another very impressive victory. Emma did her best to try and execute her usual gameplan: flash pins and legwork, but she just couldn't keep up the pace, and Blanche's offense had taken its toll by the time she landed a Tequila Sunrise suplex to score the sudden victory. A veteran she might be among the Academy, but Emma might still be a step beneath much of the AFW roster. Riley Montgomery's stubborn pride simply would not let her quit in this match, kicking out of two early Jackhammers as she tried to prove she could stand up to the raw power of Georgia Eagles. The third Jackhammer, however, proved decisive, leaving Riley sprawled out on the mat. Current estimates are that she's going to miss at least next month's AFW show, if not the next two, but time will tell how she recovers. This was all-out war between two teams aiming to prove their worth. The Marshalls were in deep trouble through most of this match, with Cassandra taking a vicious beating from both Dominic and Laura... but eventually, this came down to Terra and Laura battling it out, doing the most damage on their respective sides. Eventually, Terra would take it upon herself: taking Dominic down with a harsh bodyslam, keeping the already-exhausted man down, and then leveling Laura with one of the most vicious lariats she's thrown yet. A quick cover over the battered Dominic, and the Marshalls slipped away with the victory tonight. Diosa Syringa fought to try and avoid the sweep, but Kass the Stampede would have none of it, after a hard-fought match. Kass very nearly ended this one in the same fashion as Blanche had before, but when Syringa kicked out of her suplex, Kass instead went for a piledriver and laid Syringa out for the easy pinfall victory, giving Wanted: DOA the sweep. While Allison Avery is no stranger to fighting opponents much bigger than herself, Mason Hayes came out into this one aiming to show the Lariat Queen that size does often matter in the ring. While she managed to do some serious damage with her usual spread of lariats, Mason would wear her down and eventually lock in a brutal single-leg crab, forcing Allison to admit defeat. It was obvious right from the moment the bell rang that these two were not interested in taking it easy on each other. Right from the start these two were at each others' throats, with Maya falling behind more and more as the match progressed, trying to fight back into it with her signature Lotus Lock... but in the end, the Murder Hornet seemed to lose patience with Maya, and watching her endure everything he'd thrown at her to that point. An absolutely brutal Kudome Driver ensured that Maya didn't try to get up for more. Lance Marshall has become an absolute monster of a man since AFW opened its doors. Nobody, not a single person, has been even remotely capable of standing in his way... and Rocket was no exception, as Lance thoroughly dominated here, retaining his title and sending a message to the rest of AFW: he is the boss, he is the champion, and there might not be anyone capable of changing that. Almost certainly the hardest-fought match of the night, both teams brought their best here, throwing everything they had at each other to try and claim their place as AFW's first-ever tag team champions. There were plenty of openings for this one to end, but ultimately, Ryan Donovan would get it done with a Widowmaker in the center of the ring, with Jackson Shaw a step too slow to break up the pin... crowning Donovan and Nathan Haines as the first champions. Nathan Haines "You see this title? You see what we went through to get it? Maybe now, Lance, you'll open your eyes. You're gonna bitch and complain that there ain't any good challengers for your title... well, you got a chance to change that, real soon. Now I know you ain't gonna give me the next shot, 'cause I gotta defend these brand-new titles with Ryan here. But you wanna go out and tell the world that there ain't anyone, anyone in AFW that can take the Spirit of Texas off of you? Don't you ever forget, Lance, you're lookin' at the man right here that's gonna dethrone your ass. I'll bide my time. Waitin' in the wings for the moment I get my shot. That's what I've been after all this time. And when that day comes, Lance... you're mine."

Showdown brings us a huge night of action, with every major title on the line once again. It's Eri Sentarl's first defense of the World Championship, and a long-awaited clash between the Dynawasps and the Limbtakers... La Relampaga vs. Celine Chevalier The Muscle Machines vs. Pure Gold
Sophia Moretti vs. Alexandria Kirison Kellaron Sentarl vs. Layla Al-Amin Todd Colton and Natasha Clover vs. Firehawk Sentarl and Kileas Kintelas
Listalva Anne Heyward vs. Yuki Maeda
Victor Kintelas vs. Anari Lynn Heyward for the Pacific Northwest Championship
The Limbtakers vs. The Dynawasps for the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships
Angel Leblanc vs. Eri Sentarl for the Phoenix Rising World ChampionshipStarting off the night, it's La Relampaga squaring off with Celine Chevalier, with the Lightning Luchadora looking for a rematch after their last meeting a few weeks back resulted in Celine absolutely dominating the match. A lot could change here, but Celine will surely be prepared to do the same again this week...
It's been two years since these two teams were on the same roster and capable of facing each other. It's been even longer since they were involved in the same match. August 27, 2018... that was the last time these two teams crossed paths, and if you can believe it, the Machines beat Pure Gold... twice, no less, during the dominant run that they had back in those days. Somehow that never materialized into a championship match, an honest injustice now that I look back at it. How the hell did that ever come to pass? That's hardly the point, though... for the first time in almost three years, the Muscle Machines will square off with Pure Gold, and the latter team will be in search of their first victory over the dysfunctional duo. That is, quite possibly, one of the most bizarre stats that's ever come out of Phoenix Rising.
We haven't seen terribly much of Sophia Moretti as of late. The last time we saw her was against the current World Champion, Eri Sentarl... back in November as she prepared for her huge title match. Sophia's been a little off the radar since, but she's returned here to take on Alexandria Kirison, in a match that could see the Italian trying to decide what her future holds.
While Kellaron's partner goes for the Pacific Northwest Championship, Kellaron himself will square off with the Cairo Cyclone, looking to pick up a big win and perhaps bring himself up the rankings. The World Championship seems to be Kellaron's ultimate goal (besides winning the tag titles with Victor), but would he be willing to step into the ring across from his sister to do it?
Todd Colton has made it no secret lately how annoyed he is with the way things have gone. His constant demands for a World Championship match have, thus far, fallen on deaf ears... and he's made threats that if those demands aren't met by Sky's the Limit, things could get very, very ugly. And so, he'll look to vent his frustrations alongside Natasha Clover, as they take on the boss and the Alpha Villain. Firehawk and Kileas have had a very up-and-down run as a team thus far... but they could still be on a higher level than Todd and Natasha.
There's simply no doubting it anymore: Vindication has set its sights on the Sentarl-Heyward alliance. Shiana made it clear two weeks ago, but now she sends Yuki Maeda against Queen Anne in the hopes of doing the same once again. A loss here could be devastating to Listalva's confidence... she's had a rough go of it lately, even with Eri's support.
Victor Kintelas is out for his first piece of Showdown gold. He's made it no secret that he's looking to win every single championship he's eligible for, and the Pacific Northwest Championship is the first one in line... narrowly avoiding a showdown with his uncle, Telan, he'll instead take on Anari Lynn Heyward, who is no stranger to the title, or defending it successfully.
The Limbtakers are getting the biggest opportunity they've ever gotten as a team. While they've held the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships, they're now looking to claim the top tag prize in Phoenix Rising... held by one of the fastest and most frighteningly dangerous duos that's ever held the belts in the Dynawasps. Blake and Avispa will not be easy to stop here... but if the Limbtakers can get their usual submission game rolling, they could stun the world right here.
Finally, after winning a huge three-way match to earn her place here, Angel Leblanc will aim to topple the Little Phoenix and end her run as World Champion. But with this being Eri's first defense, one can't help but think that it's going to be a very, very tough match for the leader of Les Beautes Blondes... Eri's looked nearly unstoppable as of late, scoring huge victories and making it clear that her winning the Grand Ascension, as well as the World Championship, was no fluke.

This week's show was, quite frankly, absolutely wild. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/951175496Youtube: youtu.be/uLrfZlkq_xkQuick Results Celine Chevalier def. La Relampaga The Muscle Machines def. Pure Gold Sophia Moretti def. Alexandria Kirison Kellaron Sentarl def. Layla Al-Amin Firehawk Sentarl and Kileas Kintelas def. Todd Colton and Natasha Clover Yuki Maeda def. Listalva Anne Heyward Anari Lynn Heyward def. Victor Kintelas to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship The Dynawasps def. The Limbtakers to retain the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships Eri Sentarl def. Angel Leblanc to retain the Phoenix Rising World Championship Write-ups It wasn't quite as easy for Celine this time, but she still came out ahead over Relampaga, who fought through a seriously vicious attack that left her bloodied and at times, struggling to keep up. She fought valiantly, but Celine would take her down hard with a top-rope dragon screw, leading into her brutal submission hold for the tapout. Nearly three years since these teams last crossed paths, and yet, nothing's changed, it would seem... the Muscle Machines have, once again, toppled Pure Gold. What would history on Proving Ground look like if the Machines had ever gotten their title match? Strange to think about... Perhaps the match of Sophia's career, a huge return for the Italian who was last seen falling to the future World Champion. This was a flat-out fight to the finish, with both Sophia and Alex pulling out all the stops... but Sophia would ultimately come out ahead, landing the Phoenix Rising Special, the Binding Suplex to pick up a huge win. Kellaron Sentarl came roaring out of the gate and simply never let up. While Layla tried, she never really got anywhere in this match, and Kellaron would sweep through this match with a crushing kick to the head that laid out the Cairo Cyclone for a dominant victory. Maybe one of the hardest-fought matches of the night, but Kileas Kintelas once again came up big late in the match, after Todd and Natasha had both very nearly taken it. It's a victory for the icons of Phoenix Rising, but they still find themselves at a severe disadvantage against more established teams, it would appear... Lis fought her heart out against Yuki here, intent on getting some measure of revenge for the fact that Yuki had been responsible for her loss to Shiana... but Yuki's power ultimately wore her down, and she'd end up laid out by Yuki's piledriver variant, leaving Queen Anne once again beaten by Vindication. Anari Lynn Heyward always steps up big where the Pacific Northwest Championship is concerned, to the point where she may have a claim to being its greatest champion, and not Natasha. Victor tried here, but he never quite brought out his biggest weapons, and a pop-up powerbomb would give Anari the win... and so the title remains firmly around her waist. The Dynawasps are proving to be a truly dangerous team, and tonight might've just proven how difficult it'll be for any team to get the titles from them. An absolutely wild match eventually led to Blake and Avispa landing a truly immense string of offense, and Blake scored the pinfall victory... the Dynawasps remain champions, and now Avispa has a chance to reclaim the championship taken from him by Lance Marshall, as he'll challenge for the Pacific Northwest Championship in two weeks. The era of Eri Sentarl being considered the underdog may very well be dead. This is an all-new Little Phoenix, a fighting champion that doesn't hold anything back... and Angel Leblanc more than felt it. The one time she had a real opening in this match, off of a missed moonsault, Eri shook it off... and lifted Angel up to slam her down, setting her up for a vicious superkick, and Eri would retain her title in truly impressive fashion. And then, the Queen arrived. Shiana Sentarl hit the ring, and made it very clear: She's next in line to challenge for the World Championship, but before that happens, she's issued Eri a gauntlet challenge: to face the other three members of Vindication, one-on-one, over the course of the next three episodes of Showdown. Eri quickly countered with her own challenge towards her mother: three opponents of Eri's choosing, two of which are certain to include Listalva and Kaelara. The third, however, remains to be seen...

Mascara Avispa"Ah, damn, my shoulder! Hey, could one of you guys get some ice for me?? ... Still haven't gotten over that match with Maya Minh Sai, and now these two... Still, I gotta give all three of them respect. You pushed me, and Blake, to the brink. But right now, this belt right here?" Avispa motions to the belt set delicately on a chair behind him, "This belt means as much to me as a world title, 'cause it's proof that around here, the Dynawasps are the apex of the tag team mountain. Nothing against the other teams here, but neither of us are ready to back down!"
"Next up for me is a date two weeks from now with Anari Heyward... After everything that the PNW belt's been through, it's nice to have someone cleaning up the dirt and tarnish left on that belt by Lance Marshall. But, as much as I gotta hand it to her, I can't just back away from an opportunity, going, 'hey, thanks but no thanks.' Nah, this is an opportunity for me to get that title again, and help build up its reputation up even more. My shoulders might be hurtin' but I think I can carry plenty of gold on each."
"Which... gets me thinking about what happened last Thursday. I've been going down to Texas with a chip on my shoulder - wanted that singles rematch with Lance for months now. I'd like to say it was altruistic, but... no, it was personal. It was about being seen as easy pickings. And I was content to keep it that way... until I saw what he did to Johnny Rocket last week - of course I did, what else am I gonna do while getting my shoulder iced after that freaking Lotus Lock? When I saw him make short work of a guy who had won over the crowd, who had proven that he can hold his own against guys twice his size... it made my blood boil. These past couple of months, I've gone out to Texas with a personal agenda - but now? Having seen Marshall declare, loud and proud, that the American Frontier is a land of giants? I'm going out there to avenge someone who's been a rival and comrade in arms. I'm going out there with the reputation of junior heavyweights on my shoulders. Yeah, I'm going out there to prove that the little guy deserves their seat at the table, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to go down fighting! And I dunno who I gotta talk to in the front offices down in Houston, but I'm not taking 'no' for an answer, this time!"

It's a bit late this week, but a combination of Academy stuff and "not knowing what I'm doing", I've still managed to get this one assembled. Finally. We have three debuts for the Top Prospect division this week... Harley Brooks vs. Arthur Wright
The Gallego Twins vs. Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney
Akira Ryusaki vs. Colt Whitfield
Mercedes Ortega vs. Calista Vargas
Winter Fresh vs. The Yoshida Twins, #1 contender's match for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships
Leon Jaskulski vs. Riccardo De Luca
Sanya Markov vs. HAYATO
The Golden Ambush vs. Nick MacLeod, Leona Sterling and La Corsaria
Anna Bryant vs. Jessika BoomAfter a long stretch of wondering where the remaining 50-State participants might land, Proving Ground general manager Erica Tracy has finally signed three of the remaining five to Proving Ground. Kicking off the show, then, will be Indiana's Harley Brooks, squaring off with Arthur Wright. Harley's a bit of a wild card... nobody's quite sure yet how he'll perform, but one thing's for sure: his arrival could signal big changes for the division.
Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney have made a bit of an impact since their arrival in Proving Ground, though they are still looking for the moment that puts them up among the rest of the tag team division. A win against the Gallego Twins would go a long way towards proving themselves... but do they really have what it takes against the lucha duo?
Colt Whitfield, coming out of Kansas, could prove to be one of the greatest pure athletes Phoenix Rising has ever witnessed. Still, he's a young, raw talent... and he's taking on maybe one of the best well-rounded men in all of Phoenix Rising in Akira Ryusaki. This won't be an easy debut... but Colt could rise to the occasion in a big way if he can get the win here.
This one could get wild. Mercedes Ortega and Calista Vargas are two of the Inspire division's top rising talents, and both could have their sights set on champion Anna Bryant before long... the winner here could certainly make their case to be the next challenger, if Anna doesn't come up short in the main event.
The Yoshidas are back on the warpath against the Rising Storm. Determined to get one more match against the reigning Proving Ground tag champions, they'll square off with maybe the premiere team on Proving Ground... Winter Fresh. And with Rin Ryusaki seemingly coming in with a brand-new look alongside Fresh Suzuki... this could be the toughest match the Yoshidas face for a very long time.
The final debut of the night sees Leon Jaskulski, Polish-American out of Wisconsin, squaring off with maybe the toughest first opponent one could ever draw. Riccardo De Luca has been red-hot from day one, but Leon's grounded style could be exactly what's needed to stop Riccardo... if the fastest man in Phoenix Rising doesn't blitz him down first.
The Top Prospect is in search of a proper challenge. Sanya Markov has looked like an outright monster ever since the conclusion of last year's Grand Ascension, but HAYATO now seeks to be the man that can topple the powerful Russian... considering the names that Sanya's beaten along the way, though, does HAYATO even have a fraction of what it takes to stop him?
At some point, someone remembered the plans for trios titles in Phoenix Rising, and so Proving Ground will determine its representative team for the mini-tournament coming up. On one side, the one established trio that Proving Ground has: the Golden Ambush. On the other: the Pride of Scotland, as the three Scottish members of Proving Ground unite in an effort to bring glory to themselves and to Proving Ground. Nick MacLeod's power could be a deciding factor here, but one can't count out anyone involved in this match...
Finally, closing out the night, Anna Bryant also seeks to find her next challenger for the Inspire Championship... and Jessika Boom wants to be that challenger. Jessika's never quite gotten the big opportunities in her young career, but this could be her big chance... if she can beat Anna here, she'll put herself at the front of the line to challenge for that title, and from there... who knows what she could pull off?

Another wild show from the Proving Ground crew, and a couple of contenders lined up. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/959779855Youtube: youtu.be/hLnOzakCXUcQuick Results Harley Brooks def. Arthur Wright Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney def. The Gallego Twins Akira Ryusaki def. Colt Whitfield Calista Vargas def. Mercedes Ortega The Yoshida Twins def. Winter Fresh Riccardo De Luca def. Leon Jaskulski HAYATO def. Sanya Markov The Pride of Scotland def. The Golden Ambush Anna Bryant def. Jessika Boom Write-ups Of the three debuting stars tonight, Harley had easily the best showing. He was a wrecking ball, putting Arthur through his paces, and showing a tremendous amount of power en route to landing a crushing powerbomb that gave him the victory. Harley may not have gone deep into last year's tournament, but he may find Proving Ground to be a very fitting home. This match might've been the biggest one of Angela's and Brianna's young careers, and they absolutely did not disappoint. Angela showed off her strength in this one, and she'd get the win by swinging Rafael around in a brutal submission, scoring an incredible win. Akira Ryusaki seemed in no mood to tolerate the newcomer here, and he hardly let Colt Whitfield get anything in before dumping him with a brutal Pole Shift Flowsion to score the win. Rough night for the newcomer. An incredible show-stealing match here, between two of the top talents of the Inspire division. Mercedes Ortega went move-for-move with Calista Vargas, the two fighting to the very end... but as we've seen so many times, Calista always has her ace in the hole, and the Stormbreaker once again scored the victory, keeping the Brazilian looking sharp. The Yoshida Twins once again didn't endear themselves to the fans, but no doubt they don't care what anyone thinks of them... they're a vicious duo with submission arsenals a mile wide, and Naoko was relentless here, eventually tying up Fresh Suzuki in one of her signature leglocks to force the tapout. Riccardo De Luca had a rough time of it to start out here, struggling to get himself going as newcomer Leon Jaskulski kept the match grounded for as long as he could. But Riccardo eventually exploded into the bulk of his offense, and never let up off the gas once he'd hit his stride, landing a Spanish Fly to score the win. This was an absolutely tremendous effort by HAYATO, weathering the storm of Sanya's claw holds and dishing out everything he had to throw at the Russian. A HAYATO Driver would settle it, and HAYATO finds himself with a major opportunity, hoping to bring home the Top Prospect Championship when the two meet in a rematch in the near future... The Golden Ambush continues to struggle. Once again, they find themselves falling short, and this time, as a whole... as the Scots were absolutely in charge, La Corsaria eventually taking center stage by trapping Tigress in a vicious submission, forcing her to tap out and ensuring the Pride of Scotland will have a shot at being the first Phoenix Rising trios champions. Jessika Boom came achingly close to pulling off the win and ensuring a shot at the Inspire Championship: she hit every single cutter in her arsenal. The Dynamite Cutter. The Leaping Cutter. A huge diving cutter that nearly beat the champion. But Anna kicked out and came right back with her Small Package Bomb, and put Jessika away, leaving us without a firm contender for her championship.

It's an Evergreen kinda week, with episode 43 coming up this Thursday. It's a big one, as they determine challengers for both Elly Blackwood's Evergreen Championship, and the Evergreen tag titles held by Kelly Wolfe and Victoria Fox.
Babe Ruthless vs. The Phantom Thief
Sayaka Saito vs. Kelly Wolfe
El Verde vs. eMo (Eddy/Sookie) Ash Defiant vs. Sabrina
Iris Coleman vs. Jennifer Hunter The Big Boys vs. Argent and Binak Tonorian
Mercy Devine vs. Juliette Erving
Veronika Armstrong vs. Victoria Fox Andrea Hawke vs. KyO vs. Julian Shepard vs. Freya O'MalleyStarting off the night, the most unpredictable man in wrestling today: the Phantom Thief is still kicking around, somehow, and he'll take on Babe Ruthless in the opener here. It's hard to tell how this one might go, as it really all depends on how motivated the Thief is this time around...
Oakland's Most Metal is riding a bit of a high after last month's show, having scored a major victory over eMo and earning their spot in the upcoming trios mini-tournament. With their spot secured, they'll set out on a pair of singles matches... Sayaka Saito prepared to take on tag champion Kelly Wolfe first of all.
One of the most popular teams in Evergreen steps in to take on one of the most decorated. Former champions clash here as El Verde takes on eMo, and as usual, all eyes are likely to be on Eddy Introspect... as always, it's very possible that he steals the show here, not to mention the victory.
Sabrina was extended an offer for this week's main event after her victory last month, but passed on it to allow KyO to have the spot without Sabrina competing against him. Instead, she'll take on Ash Defiant, a match that's almost certainly going to be a tough test for the Jersey She-Devil...
Two rising stars face off here, as Iris Coleman once again attempts to have a breakout victory against Jennifer Hunter. Hunter, though, has proven to be one of Evergreen's toughest wrestlers beyond any doubt... and she's not likely to make things easy for Iris here.
This, right here, could be the biggest clash in Evergreen history. The winners are lined up to challenge for the Evergreen Tag Team Championships next month... the Big Boys have held those titles before, right up until being dethroned by El Verde, and are eager to get them back, while Argent and Binak are fresh off a landmark victory over the Demons, giving them this massive opportunity.
Originally slated to be Mercy taking on Rebecca Andrews, the events of Friday's PEWA show necessitated a change of plans... courtesy of Juliette Erving, who essentially demanded she get a shot at Mercy herself. Mercy's obliged, and for her part, Rebecca stepped aside more or less willingly to let it happen. We may see Rebecca in action post-show anyway, but time will tell.
Veronika Armstrong seems to have the reputation as Evergreen's most recognizable name outside of Kevin Royce and Mercy Devine, and she's stepping into the ring to take on maybe one of the fastest-rising stars in Evergreen's history. Victoria Fox has followed somewhat of a similar trajectory to her alternate counterpart, Victor Kintelas, in that she's had an absolutely meteoric rise from day one... and she's certain to bring the fight to Veronika.
Finally, capping off the night, it's a colossal four-way match to decide the next challenger for Elly Blackwood. These four are all vying for that huge honor... though knowing how dangerous and resilient Elly is, can any of these four challengers stand up if they stand tall? Freya O'Malley's faced Elly once before, and defeated her in the 50-State finals... Julian Shepard's the only one of the four to be a former champion... KyO could be on the verge of a huge hot streak after his victory last month over the Phantom Thief... and Andrea Hawke would love a major win ahead of her promoted show next Thursday, under the all-new "Valkyrie Pro" banner.
Valkyrie Pro? That's right. Next Thursday, April 1, Andrea Hawke returns for the second straight year to promote a big show... combining matches from the alternate universe wrestlers, and plenty of invitations. The core roster will consist of ten wrestlers: Andrea herself, the Takeda sisters, Kelly Wolfe, Victoria Fox, Kiana Yamazaki, Kylie Anderson... along with three relative newcomers. Lily Lyons and Amanda Skye from the 50-State Tournament have joined this core roster, along with one final name... a woman known simply as Kroll. There's some debate on just who exactly she's a counterpart to, but her title of the "Roaring Devil" makes at least one thing clear: She's someone that is NOT to be crossed.
The Valkyrie Pro card will be posted likely on Friday, along with Showdown's card for Monday.

Evergreen did what it always seems to. Fast-paced, violent, you know the drill. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/963416860Youtube: youtu.be/eVoR5jXF5T4Quick Results The Phantom Thief def. Babe Ruthless Kelly Wolfe def. Sayaka Saito El Verde def. eMo Ash Defiant def. Sabrina Jennifer Hunter def. Iris Coleman Argent and Binak Tonorian def. The Big Boys Juliette Erving def. Mercy Devine Veronika Armstrong def. Victoria Fox KyO def. Freya O'Malley, Andrea Hawke and Julian Shepard Penelope Lea def. Rebecca Andrews Write-ups Once again, we seem to have gotten the more-prepared Phantom Thief, weathering some of Babe Ruthless's toughest offense. Two Change of Hearts landed but not at full-strength, but a Mandible Claw would finish things off and give him the win, once again making it clear that when the Thief is in the ring, anything is possible. Kelly was particularly vicious tonight, zeroed in on Sayaka's arms and eventually forcing her to submit, having spent a solid ten minutes trying to wrench the arm right out of its socket. Kelly looked like a monster tonight, and that could give some serious hope to the tag title defense next month. El Verde were red-hot once again, and despite a serious effort to once again steal a win out from beneath his opponents' noses, Eddy Introspect came up short... Verde, however, did not, crushing Sookie with a Pedigree onto a chair, and picked up a major victory. Could we see El Verde going for a third tag title reign in the future? Probably the most drawn-out brawl of the night, Sabrina threw every last dirty trick she had at Ash Defiant. None of it would be enough, and Ash would eventually grow tired of Sabrina's tricks, one final crushing move putting an end to the Jersey She-Devil's night. One could think that these two might make a solid tag team in the future. That is, if Iris Coleman doesn't hold a grudge for the way this match ended. Jennifer Hunter pulled Iris into her brutal Stealth Viper submission, and whatever it was that she did, Iris tapped out immediately. Iris seems likely to sit out next month's show, just as a precaution, but it's not believed she suffered any serious injury. This was closer than perhaps some might've expected. Pete and Skidmark held their own here, but it really seemed inevitable that Binak would overwhelm them before long, not to mention Argent putting in his own work. But an Ax Guillotine Driver from Binak would bring this one to an end... an impressive display of raw power from the colossal duo. Despite some... miscommunication (i.e., I used the wrong version of Juliette), this was probably one of the top matches of the night, with Mercy spilling blood, Juliette getting to do what she does best, and Juliette also picking up the victory, settling the somewhat one-sided grudge. For now. Veronika Armstrong came to this match on a mission, no doubt about it. Already having earned their place in the trios championship, Veronika came out to prove that Oakland's Most Metal could be the most dangerous trio in the group... and she dismantled a reigning tag team champion to do it, crushing Victoria Fox without a second thought. KyO had the match of his life. Every move he made here seemed to be leading towards a deliberate plan... wearing down the rest of the field, picking off the toughest of the group, and eventually landing a huge Kyo Hammer to the last one standing: Andrea Hawke. KyO goes on to the biggest match, likely of his career: challenging Elly Blackwood for the Evergreen Championship. Rebecca Andrews got bumped from the card to give Juliette Erving the match she wanted... so Rebecca got this match, instead, and wound up perhaps wishing she'd stayed in the back. Penelope Lea wiped her out without hardly breaking a sweat, and eMo got a measure of revenge over Oakland's Most Metal for losing last month's trios match.

Time to throw out a double-header of cards. They're not happening on the same night but it's easier for me to just knock out both in one go here. Starting things off, on Monday, it's Showdown... Episode 75, specifically. It's the beginning of the build for Eri Sentarl's next defense of the World Championship... Natasha Clover vs. Hugo Dirksen
La Relampaga vs. Besos
Celine Chevalier vs. Rachel White The Limbtakers vs. Les Beautes Blondes (Michelle/Revon) Todd Colton vs. Kileas Kintelas Shiana Sentarl vs. Listalva Anne Heyward
The Malevolent Triad vs. A mystery trio Mascara Avispa vs. Anari Lynn Heyward for the Pacific Northwest Championship Mallory Spaulding vs. Eri SentarlStarting the show off, Natasha Clover once again seeks to push herself back up the ranks of the Pacific Northwest division... frustration building as she's failed the last few times at recapturing the title. Hugo Dirksen, as well, doesn't seem likely to make matters easy on her, the newcomer looking for a big win to make a statement on Showdown. La Relampaga has a bit of a busy week, as we'll soon see. For now, her attention is focused on Besos, as the two luchadoras seek to raise their stock in the Pacific Northwest division. No doubt this is going to be an early candidate for a show-stealer. Celine Chevalier is always out to prove herself among the more established members of Les Beautes Blondes, and it's easy to think she'll have the easiest time of those involved this week. But one should not count Rachel White out early... she's proven in the past that looking past her is a huge mistake. Michelle Rochefort and Revon Beauregard, meanwhile, will square off with the Limbtakers, who are coming off of a defeat at the hands of the Dynawasps in defense of the tag titles. Candace and RNA will surely be out to prove they're still one of the best teams Showdown has to offer, but it's going to be tough against two of LBB's finest. Todd Colton has issued one hell of a challenge this week: discovering that Firehawk Sentarl won't be present at this week's Showdown, Todd's seized on an opportunity to take on Kileas Kintelas, perhaps looking for vengeance after the tag team defeat last Showdown to the nigh-legendary duo. While Eri Sentarl is forced to take on Vindication's members ahead of her title defense, her challenger won't be idle... this is a rematch from a few weeks ago, as Queen faces Queen once more, this time with nobody at ringside for either woman. Listalva is out for redemption against Vindication's leader, but Shiana is certain to step up her game now that she can only rely on her own abilities... We know that the Malevolent Triad will step in as one of Showdown's potential trios... but we haven't been told who their opponents will be! Oscuro, Haruka and Selisha are certain to make it a fight, regardless of who their opponents happen to be, but this is a tough place for them to be in... Mascara Avispa is determined to reclaim the title that he lost some time ago to Lance Marshall. The original source of AFW's Spirit of Texas Championship, the Pacific Northwest Championship was quickly re-awarded the week after the incident... and now Avispa finally has a shot at regaining that title, though it won't be easy to take Anari down, as so many have often failed to take the big woman down. Capping off the night, the World Champion steps into the ring against an opponent that could prove to be a legitimate nightmare for her. Mallory Spaulding is a monster, through and through, and no doubt she'll throw Eri around the ring with reckless abandon... can the Little Phoenix endure and bring down the first member of Vindication? But that's not all. April 1 is fast approaching, and in what's quickly becoming a new tradition in Phoenix Rising, Andrea Hawke has a show to produce... and this time, under a proper fed banner. Valkyrie Pro has arrived... and so we have a full card for Thursday. Kiana Yamazaki vs. SATOMI
Kylie Anderson vs. Titania
Esi Dogboe and Nefertiri vs. Layla Al-Amin and La Relampaga
Leona Sterling vs. Virginia Caldwell, UCSS Rules
Calista Vargas vs. Carmen Latour
Amanda Skye and Lily Lyons vs. Winter Fresh
Kroll vs. Nicole Blade
Andrea Hawke vs. Firehawk Sentarl
Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe vs. Kaede and Tomiko TakedaValkyrie Pro's first-ever match will see the return of Kiana Yamazaki... y'know, it's somewhat unclear on her status, at times. We're still sure she's an alternate-counterpart to Mercy, but after the strange Phantom Thief incident, it's a little bit... nebulous. Still, the joshi technician is here on Valkyrie Pro's core roster, and she'll take on Proving Ground icon SATOMI... good luck.
We haven't seen Kylie Anderson since last year, as I recall, a match in which she took down one of Valkyrie Pro's founders, Kaede Takeda. This time, though, she's got an equally-tough powerhouse in her path: Titania, from Proving Ground, looking to show the fledgling fed just what real power is.
It's the Dynasty Cyclones... Black Star Cyclones... well, let's just say this is a match that involves all of Layla Al-Amin's regular partners! Layla herself will team with her most common Phoenix Rising partner, La Relampaga, to face those from the Office, Nefertiri and Esi Dogboe. This will be one hell of a match... and shows just how much reach the Cairo Cyclone has, these days.
It's becoming kind of a tradition for Andrea to schedule a shoot-match, and while last year saw a showdown between rivals Candace Monroe and Leona Sterling, this show will instead see Leona facing off against Academy star Virginia Caldwell. Can the young upstart take on one of Proving Ground's most dangerous fighters?
Andrea Hawke went searching for a match that nobody had ever seen before... wanted to cross over between feds under the Phoenix Rising banner. This, then, seemed to come out of a brilliant flash: two of the fastest and most talented women in their respective feds. Calista Vargas of Proving Ground takes on Carmen Latour from AFW... don't blink. This'll be fast and intense, without a doubt.
Amanda Skye and Lily Lyons were the final two parts of the 50-state tournament that had yet to sign with a fed, but they're now officially part of the founding roster of Valkyrie Pro. And what a debut match they've got... squaring off with the iconic Winter Fresh. This could be one of the toughest matches to call...
Who is "Kroll"? Well, what we know is that she's known as the "Roaring Devil", a huge powerhouse that looks like she could fit right in with the Demons. Katrina Kroll, hailing from Hamburg, Germany, is the newest part of the fed, but she's almost certain to make a huge impact here against Nicole Blade, as the two powerhouses clash in a colossal showdown.
Yes, you're seeing that right: Andrea Hawke is going to clash with her main-universe counterpart, and this is why Firehawk won't be at Showdown this week. We're going to see a lot of similarities in this match, but Andrea still holds to some of what Firehawk's long since stopped using... while Firehawk's got some new tricks that Andrea's not even thought of using.
The main event is a big one: the current reigning Evergreen Tag Team Champions are back in action once again, and they're squaring off with the Takeda sisters. All four women here are part of the core roster, and no doubt they're set to put on an absolute war of a match... a fitting end to Valkyrie Pro's inaugural show.

The gauntlet has begun, and Showdown's also sent its chosen trio into the fray for the eventual trios championship matches... Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/968503630Youtube: youtu.be/S-7TDB5n38gQuick Results Natasha Clover def. Hugo Dirksen Besos def. La Relampaga Celine Chevalier def. Rachel White The Limbtakers def. Les Beautes Blondes Kileas Kintelas def. Todd Colton Shiana Sentarl def. Listalva Anne Heyward The SFG def. The Malevolent Triad Anari Lynn Heyward def. Mascara Avispa to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Mallory Spaulding def. Eri Sentarl Write-ups A red-hot start to the night, with Natasha Clover exploding straight out of the gate and never really letting up, even when Hugo started to get his shots in late. It wouldn't be enough, and Natasha would add insult to injury by performing one of Hugo's signature triple suplexes, scoring the victory over the Dutchman. Relampaga just couldn't get things rolling here, likely thrown off by the fact that Besos near-effortlessly tossed her from the ring off an early arm drag, and she never quite recovered, falling victim to that dreaded Rana-Bomb and giving Besos the somewhat easy victory on the night. Celine Chevalier did not fall victim to the pitfall that so many other wrestlers have against Rachel White. She took this match seriously... and was just plain violent in the process, at times, leaving Rachel bloodied and finishing the job with a brutal Falcon Arrow, making it very clear that she will not be fooled. The Limbtakers definitely needed a win here after falling to the Dynawasps, and after an incredibly hard-fought matchup with LBB here, they certainly got it. This was teamwork defined on both sides, with Michelle Rochefort fending off any and all attempts to score a submission on the ground... the same could not be said of Revon Beauregard, and Candace would eventually take on both of them at once, taking Michelle out of the way while she cranked Revon into her signature knee-lock to get the submission victory. Todd definitely seemed outmatched here on paper, but the next twenty minutes of action quite simply kept him looking firmly like he belongs in the upper echelons of Phoenix Rising. He may not have gotten the win, though it was a close thing: Kileas landing a last-ditch Tigerdriver that barely got the win, seemingly with the last of his strength. With no backup, no interference coming her way, Shiana had to win this match the hard way... and Lis definitely made sure it was the hard way, busting Shiana open early on and relentlessly coming after her with everything she had, nearly taking the win more than once. But the crafty veteran that she is, Shiana refused to back down and eventually forced Lis to give in to her Romero variation, leaving little doubt as to who the better woman was tonight. The Malevolent Triad could not have drawn a worse set of opponents. After three months away from Phoenix Rising, none other than the SFG made their return... and what a return it was, not having lost a single step as a full unit, and it would be Laenara Kintelas who'd take the victory on the back of her Dragonslayer Cavernaria. God help the other three trios they'll be up against... the SFG might just be the favorites to be the inaugural champions, now. The last time these two met for the Pacific Northwest Championship, Avispa came away with the victory and the title, locking in La Avispa and forcing Anari to tap out. It would not be a repeat performance this time around, however, as Anari seemed prepared even for the new arsenal that Avispa brought to this match, and she'd eventually bring him down with a crushing powerbomb to score the win, and retain her title in her second defense. Eri Sentarl put up the best fight she possibly could've against Mallory Spaulding, but the result, at some point, became almost inevitable. Mallory's crushing suplexes and absolute raw power eventually overwhelmed the Little Phoenix despite the champion throwing everything she could at her colossal opponent, and it was the utter brutality of Mallory's signature backdrop that put an end to her night, dumping Eri firmly on her head and allowing Mallory to finish the match off. Already, Eri finds herself slipping behind her mother, her challenger... can she turn it around in her next match?

Valkyrie Pro has made its debut, and it was wild. Top to bottom, this was maybe one of the craziest shows I've run in a very long time. And it clocked in at a full-on two hours. Hooooooo boy. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/972231190Youtube: youtu.be/SQPmROr68XYQuick Results SATOMI def. Kiana Yamazaki Kylie Anderson def. Titania La Relampaga and Layla Al-Amin def. Esi Dogboe and Nefertiri Leona Sterling def. Virginia Caldwell Carmen Latour def. Calista Vargas Winter Fresh def. Lily Lyons and Amanda Skye Kroll def. Nicole Blade Firehawk Sentarl def. Andrea Hawke Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe def. Kaede and Tomiko Takeda
Bonus: Firehawk Sentarl and LEANDER GREY def. Todd Colton and Natasha Clover Other Bonus: Todd Colton def. CM Punk Write-ups An electric opener, though SATOMI seemed firmly in control from the outset, despite Kiana trying to fight her way back in. Back-to-back SATOMI Drivers put this one away in a hurry, and SATOMI kicked off the night in dominant fashion. In terms of workrate? Look no further than this match right here. Don't let the match time fool you, this was a fight to the finish, punctuated by a WILD sequence on the ground that saw both women grappling for position back and forth in what might've been the single most impressive example of grounded, legitimate wrestling we've ever seen on a Phoenix Rising stream. Kylie would finish this one off with her crushing Bombshell powerbomb, but this was an early candidate for match of the night. The Dynasty Cyclones are well-known at this point as one of the most varied and talented teams around. Any combination of duos you could assemble of these four could easily be a huge boon to any tag division around... but Phoenix Rising's own duo of Layla and Relampaga would win the day this time around, with Relampaga more than proving herself as the equal of anyone in the ring for this match. Virginia Caldwell more than proved she's a match for Leona in a shoot environment by going face-to-face with the Scot for four full rounds of action, and very nearly took the win more than once. But Leona's experience did ultimately carry her to victory, catching a wild kick and locking in an Achilles Hold to put things away in the fifth and final round. An incredible fight, without a doubt. This was nothing short of a statement by Carmen Latour. Calista Vargas has torn up the Inspire division in Proving Ground, but Carmen might have just made it clear that she's gunning for a top spot in AFW after taking down the Brazilian dynamo, landing her huge somersault dropkick to score the impressive victory. The fledgling team of Lily and Amanda held their own here, but Winter Fresh's victory seemed outright inevitable. A huge Swanton Bomb from Fresh Suzuki put this one away in the end, but the young team has nothing to be ashamed of... they held out against Proving Ground's finest. We didn't hear terribly much about Kroll ahead of this match, only that she was a vicious powerhouse and perhaps the most intimidating member of Valkyrie Pro's core roster. The Roaring Devil definitely made a good first impression here against Nicole Blade, meeting every last bit of power Nicole had to throw at her and returning it in spades... closing out with a giant chokeslam that shook the ring to pick up the win. For the first time, these two met as opponents, and they showed no quarter in either direction. Firehawk definitely seemed to gain the upper hand, though Andrea didn't roll over for him, both delivering their own variations on the Phoenix Dive before Firehawk locked in the Sharpshooter to force a submission and take the win. Maybe the most hard-fought match of the night, the reigning Evergreen Tag Team Champions squared off with the Takeda sisters, and for a solid thirty minutes, it was near-impossible to tell who might come away with the win. It took a last-ditch armbar from Kelly Wolfe to finally bring this one to an end, but not before Tomiko ran rampant around the ring, Kaede showed her dangerous veteran guile, and the Evergreen duo kept the pace hot clear up to the very end. We heard that Todd Colton was out to crash the party tonight, and he did just that... alongside Natasha Clover, they seemed to outright demand a spot on the card, a match against whoever was bold enough to take them on. Enter Firehawk Sentarl, more than prepared to take on a second match on the night... and behind him, a living legend. His own father... Leander Grey. With Andrea Hawke standing in as referee, she ran a tight ship: tags were strictly enforced, and the match was declared to be under elimination rules. The two teams went to war regardless... a wild brawl on the outside between Todd and Firehawk seemed to swing the match in Todd's favor, but Firehawk would score his second submission of the night with the Sharpshooter, setting the stage for Leander to mop up. When Natasha refused to tap out to the legendary Crossface passed down to both Firehawk and Kellaron, Leander settled for a Fire Thunder driver, and scored the victory, perhaps a major announcement that he may very well be back properly this time... Last year, we got Todd vs. Jericho in a battle of the Best in the World. But there's one other man that's made that declaration, and it was CM Punk. In the absence of any AJ Lee edits on my game, Rebecca Andrews instead stood at ringside to balance Natasha Clover's presence, but Todd would score a very, very impressive victory off of his familiar Destroyer... at least giving him something to be proud about. Too bad it's not canon.April 1 shows have been a blast every year, this one was no different. Valkyrie Pro will hopefully be something I can run every so often during the year, when I feel like I have time, and I'll try to say when they happen. For now... I'm glad to get through one of my most-anticipated shows of the year.
