Well, there we have it... the biggest show of the year has wrapped up, and there's not terribly much to say about it up-front. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/665669069Youtube: youtu.be/LG70vg6BYyMQuick Results Tasharun def. Argent Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe def. Adrenaline Rush Rei Hasegawa won the Academy Battle Royal Strawberry Sookie def. Veronika Armstrong to retain the Evergreen Championship Amber Wright def. SATOMI and Reina del Tigre to retain the Inspire Championship Firehawk Sentarl def. Todd Colton The Golden Ambush def. The Excellent Blades to retain the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships Victor Kintelas def. Akira Ryusaki to become the NEW Top Prospect Champion Angel Leblanc def. Shiana Sentarl Rachel White def. Haruka Matsura to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion Laenara Kintelas def. The Black Dragon to become the NEW Phoenix Rising World Champion Write-ups It all kicked off with Evergreen action, as the demons clashed... Argent looking to take down the one man that he hates more than any other. Unfortunately, Tasharun seemed to recapture a lot of the old ferocity that made him such a terrifying force in the early days of Phoenix Rising... and a brutal chokeslam put this one away in his favor, stopping Argent's hopes in their tracks. Adrenaline Rush continues to look good, but tonight, the newcomers just seemed to be that much better, as Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe showed that they're not just dangerous on their own. Working well as a team, Kelly would eventually wear down Nic Nitro enough to get him in a vicious armbar, and just barely got the tapout before Thunder could make the save. Over the past year and a half, we've seen Rei Hasegawa go from an arrogant young rookie with nothing much to show, to an arrogant rookie who might just be one of the Academy's finest. Never has that been more apparent than this past weekend, coming off of a big win on Saturday's show, and coming into this match to outlast all seven of her opponents and stand tall. Look out, Academy... Rei's coming for that title, one way or another. Once again, Strawberry Sookie proves that Evergreen is the sole domain of eMo. Despite everything Veronika Armstrong could throw her way, Sookie continues to prove that her championship reign has never been a fluke... she's perhaps the single most dangerous person ever to hold the Evergreen Championship. Who can possibly stop her now? Amber Wright came into this match against overwhelming odds, facing down two former Inspire Champions. And yet, at the end of the night, it was Amber that stood tall, after Reina caught SATOMI out of a rana, followed quickly by Amber slipping in to lock in the Triangle Scorpion. The young woman retains her title, perhaps the most unlikely defense of the night. Weeks, months of poking the bear by Todd Colton... sneak-attacks, harsh words, everything he could do to get under Firehawk's skin. And oh, did he accomplish that goal all too well, if this match was any indication. This was a thorough stomping... and Firehawk showed absolutely no remorse, crushing Todd with multiple Phoenix Dives, and picking up maybe one of the most dominant wins he's had in ages. The Golden Ambush just might be flat-out unbeatable as a team. Try as they might, the Blades just couldn't quite keep the Tigers down... and a superkick from Tigress put this one away and kept the belts firmly with the Ambush. Who on earth has a chance of stopping them? The first title change of the night was a big one. Victor Kintelas absolutely refused to accept anything less than a total victory and his second Top Prospect Championship, but Akira Ryusaki did not make it an easy path... throwing every last bit of offense he had at Victor until a Kintelas Driver put this one away, and put Victor back at the top of Proving Ground. What does this mean for the GOAT going forward? Shiana chose the stipulation, a submission match, to try and beat Angel at her own game. But despite being the first to lock in her signature submission, the Torture Romero wouldn't get the job done... Angel proving too stubborn to let Shiana get the win that way. The same could not be said of Shiana getting locked into the Figure Eight... zeroing in on the one weakness that every member of Phoenix Rising knows so well. Angel comes out with a massive victory, cementing Les Beautes Blondes' victory over Shiana and her allies. Unreal. That's all there is to say here. This was the match of Rachel's life, an opportunity to step away from the image she's held for so long, and she absolutely nailed it. Haruka, perhaps underestimating her opponent, wasn't nearly as aggressive as she needed to be for most of the match... and Rachel would pick up a shocking upset, capturing the Pacific Northwest Championship. We've seen this match twice before: both times in October of 2019, during the Grand Ascension. The first time, Dragon won in her usual fashion... the second time, Laenara forced the Dragon to tap out to the brutal Cavernaria. And tonight, with the World Championship on the line, Laenara Kintelas did the impossible, again. The reign that began in October of 2018 comes to an end here at the hands of Dragon's partner, and Laenara Kintelas, after taking back-to-back reverse chokeslams from the Dragon, fired back and locked in the submission people are now dubbing the Dragonslayer, as she forced Dragon to tap out for the second time. We have a new World Champion for the first time in over a year and a half. All hail the Kintelas family, who clearly now stand tall at both levels of Phoenix Rising. So, now that I've rushed through the results post as fast as I could manage (despite the distractions), what a freakin' night. I haven't run a show this long in a good while, for one thing, and as awesome as this was, it does remind me why I scaled back to smaller, quicker shows a while ago, lol. Still, this was a blast, and it's good to do a big supershow every once in a while. Like, say, every six months. Like I've been doing. Yes. The ride's not really over yet, though. Thursday night, rather than being an Evergreen show as would normally be scheduled, is going to be a special event in itself. A one-night tournament with a major prize on the line: the winner getting a shot at whatever Phoenix Rising championship they so choose to go for. Sixteen men and women: eight from Showdown, eight from Proving Ground, all vying to stand tall. And each of these sixteen did NOT make it onto the Sky's the Limit card. I'll post the brackets tomorrow, along with what each participant in the tournament will be looking to get by winning. It's gonna be a big night... just as big as Sky's the Limit, perhaps.

So, what's coming up on Thursday, then? Who's involved? Let's take a look at the first round bracket... I've made the decision to split this thing up, so we'll see the first round on Thursday, and the remainder of the tournament on Monday. Big Impact Tournament 2020 Blake Dynamite vs. Silver HawkNathan Haines vs. Kyle AndersonEri Sentarl vs. Felice SantanaLayla Al-Amin vs. Chico Con CarneAlexandria Kirison vs. Candace MonroeRevon Beauregard vs. HAYATOYuki Maeda vs. TitaniaAnahera vs. Katherine White
In addition, likely about halfway through the card, we'll have at least one showcase match to show off some of the newer edits, so expect to catch a glimpse of some of the people we've seen in bonus matches lately: I'm not sure who might get the nod here, but Sabrina could always use a second look.
Finally, let's see exactly what everyone in this tournament is looking to win: everyone's already got a stated goal for winning the whole tournament, what title they seek.
Blake Dynamite: Phoenix Rising World Championship Silver Hawk: Decision not yet final, likely between World Championship and Tag Team Championships Nathan Haines: World Championship Kyle Anderson: World Championship Eri Sentarl: Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships (Alongside Kaelara Sentarl) Layla Al-Amin: Tag Team Championships (Alongside La Relampaga) Chico Con Carne: Tag Team Championships (Alongside Rey de la Carne) Alexandria Kirison: World Championship Candace Monroe: Tag Team Championships (Alongside RNA, of course) Revon Beauregard: Unclear, but rumor currently states that he doesn't care about any of the current titles and simply wants a million dollars to commission his own championship. Right. HAYATO: Top Prospect Championship Yuki Maeda: World Championship Titania: World Championship Anahera: World Championship Katherine White: Inspire Championship
We also asked Felice Santana about this outright, and... well.
Felice: I would love a shot at the Top Prospect, which of course is the most sensible goal for me, but then again, I haven't really tried to win the tag titles, so maybe that'd be great, too, and then again, the Academy title would be a step back, but also a step forward, you know, but if I'm being honest with myself, the title I want most of all is the Dominican Golden Championship, but not only does Salvador Sosa have it, and he's super good, but Phoenix Rising can't get me a title shot at my own family's title, right, or am I wrong, either way, I just want to do great and get a title shot....any title shot!
As we can see, many of the participants are after the biggest prize in Phoenix Rising, trying to leverage a potential victory into the biggest opportunity they can get. Others seek glory not only for themselves, but to rise to the top of the tag division alongside their most trusted partner. Still others seek only the prize that they see as being at their level... and then there's Revon Beauregard who's apparently decided he's better than everyone else and deserves to be seen as such.
At any rate, this is going to be an interesting one.

The first night of the tournament has wrapped up, and it might've exceeded expectations. Here's to hoping that keeps up for Monday's show, when we conclude the tournament and see who's earned their shot. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/668549016Youtube: youtu.be/F-ybEHApXh8Quick Results Blake Dynamite def. Silver Hawk Katherine White def. Anahera Kyle Anderson def. Nathan Haines HAYATO def. Revon Beauregard Sabrina def. Iris Coleman (non-tournament) Candace Monroe def. Alexandria Kirison Chico Con Carne def. Layla Al-Amin Felice Santana def. Eri Sentarl Yuki Maeda def. Titania Mercedes Ortega def. Gabriela Gallego (non-tournament) Write-ups A hot start to the night, just as expected, with both high-flyers going at their usual pace, and never letting up for a second. It'd be Blake, though, picking up the win by taking things to the ground instead, locking in a bow and arrow and scoring a tapout, sending him on to the next round. Katherine White's recent string of upsets just continues here, as she takes down one of the top competitors in Phoenix Rising in Anahera. What on earth is Katherine's career going to look like if she keeps this up? Can she pull off a miracle victory in this tournament? Nathan Haines thought he was ready to take on Five Star Kyle. He was dead wrong, though, as Kyle put the Wyoming native through his paces, and eventually wiped him out entirely with his signature Triangle Scissors hold, putting Haines away with relative ease. Revon Beauregard's dreams will simply have to wait. HAYATO had no intention of letting the brash Frenchman get his way, and while he had to settle for a flash pin counter, HAYATO moves on to the next round, and Revon's million-dollar goal will have to be realized elsewhere. Between the halves of the card, we got some Evergreen-style action... and once again, the Jersey She-Devil, Sabrina, made an appearance, this time taking on Iris Coleman. And once again, seemingly against all odds, Sabrina would come out the winner... likely thanks to her copious use of cheap shots, chokes and other underhanded tactics, but the result remains. Teacher and student clashed for the first time in a very long time... and Candace proved that she's come a very long way since the last time Alex stood across the ring from her. She was a laser-focused machine tonight, zeroed in on her goal, and she'd ultimately pick up a huge win with her signature Monroe Knee Lock, proving to Alex that she's more than ready to stand at the same level as her teacher. Lightning fast, relentless... never letting up for a second. Exactly what we all expected to see here, as Chico would ultimately take over, snap Layla up in a Magistral Cradle, and pick up a big win. Chico's a step closer to his goal of tag team glory... Felice Santana came into this as a major underdog, but she absolutely rose to the occasion, showing Eri that there is someone in the world that can match her speed... and Felice, in the end, would even beat it. A huge Double Lotation Moonsault would give Felice maybe the single biggest win of her entire young career... can she keep this up? This was nothing short of a mugging. Yuki Maeda was clearly in no mood to put up with Titania's usual arrogance and show of strength, and she plowed through the younger star without a hint of regret, crushing Titania with a variation on her very own Titanic Bomb before dropping her full weight down. The old veteran is in the driver's seat with the most dominant win of the night... but what will the second round and beyond hold? Finally, to give the fans a bit more action before the end of the night, Proving Ground sent two of its latest signings to the ring, as Mercedes Ortega took on Gabriela Gallego. The two kept up a blistering pace for most of the match, and it seemed like Gabriela was in charge... but Mercedes wouldn't be counted out, and popped off a fantastic combo leading to a latch pin to pick up a major victory. The rest of the tournament will conclude on Monday, in place of a usual Phoenix Rising show. The Blackwood Academy will have its house show next Saturday as usual, and Proving Ground will return to kick things off on the 13th.

The Big Impact tournament has concluded, and we have our winner... and we know what their future now holds. Proving Ground kicks off next week, as we return to Phoenix Rising's normal action. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/672313642Youtube: youtu.be/MLmep0OpmYg(VoDs this week do include the post-show bonus matches, but I haven't screenshotted results and won't do a write-up for them.) Quick Results Blake Dynamite def. Kyle Anderson Chico Con Carne def. Felice Santana HAYATO def. Candace Monroe Yuki Maeda def. Katherine White Ryan Donovan def. Todd Colton Chico Con Carne def. Blake Dynamite HAYATO def. Yuki Maeda Oakland's Most Metal (Rebecca/Sayaka) def. Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe Chico Con Carne def. HAYATO to win the Big Impact Tournament and a shot at the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships Write-ups A hot opener just as one would expect from the two workhorses of Phoenix Rising. Not to mention how familiar the two are with each other... though it's been a long time since the two former teammates shared a ring. Blake showed Kyle exactly what he's missed since Blake moved to Showdown and cemented himself as one of the best in the world... and he moved into the semifinal with a relentless string of offense. Chico Con Carne started his night without nearly as much of the flash and style that he usually shows. He took this match to a much more grounded pace, aiming to keep Felice Santana from bringing her top speed to bear, and it worked wonders... and as Felice seemed to try and get her momentum rolling, Chico saw it coming and cut it off right away, landing a crushing rana-bomb to pick up the victory. Once again, Candace Monroe's path to the top was stonewalled. But rather than being outpaced by raw speed as was the case against La Relampaga a few months back, this time, it was simply being outfought by HAYATO, who was absolutely merciless on offense, and eventually would crush Candace with a HAYATO Driver, once again ending the young Australian's aspirations. For the second match in a row, Yuki Maeda barely broke a sweat in dispatching her opponent. This time, it was Katherine White that met her ire, and while Katherine did her best to try and stay in the fight, the crafty old veteran had nearly every aspect of Katherine's offense scouted... and she countered a powerbomb into a swift pin, almost contemptuous towards her young opponent. Todd Colton practically insisted on getting a match tonight, and so the decision was made to give him a match with a newcomer: Ryan Donovan, out of South Carolina. And he did not disappoint, proving himself beyond any doubt against Todd, enduring everything Todd had to throw his way before landing a brutal Reverse Tigerdriver to pick up the win. And yet, one has to think he's still holding something back. Chico's second match of the night, the semifinal, was just as wild as the quarterfinal. Taking on Blake Dynamite, Chico turned up the pace early, and the two threw absolutely every last bit of offense they had at each other, with Blake blasting Chico with multiple Double Lotations, and never letting up... but Chico pushed through it all, and finally managed to set up a huge springboard rana that gave him an unbelievable win, and sent him to the final. For the first time, Yuki Maeda finally met an opponent she couldn't simply steamroll. HAYATO was a beast in this match, perhaps even more dangerous than he was against Candace, and although Yuki was able to close the gap between them during a wild outside brawl, HAYATO seemed to realize how dangerous it was to let Yuki keep going, and locked in the familiar Nagata Lock III submission to pick up a huge win. With the rumors floating around that Victoria Fox and Kelly Wolfe would join Evergreen soon, this match was signed seemingly to confirm those rumors... and the newcomers got a taste of what they're in for when they arrive, as they took on two-thirds of the Oakland trio. Despite falling short in their challenge towards eMo a few weeks ago, Rebecca and Sayaka were just as effective here as they've ever been, and Sayaka's Fisherman DDT would keep Kelly Wolfe down for the three-count in a chaotic, wild brawl. The tournament final was one that not many would've seen coming. Chico Con Carne, on the run of his life, taking on the brash HAYATO, in a wild clash of lucha vs. puro. And once again, Chico Con Carne dug deep to find the absolute best performance of his life, meeting HAYATO move for move, powering out of everything thrown his way until finally, unbelievably, he hit a crushing sunset bomb and picked up the win, the tournament, and the shot at the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships he so desires, with Rey de la Carne standing as his partner. The Golden Ambush will have to watch out... La Familia could be riding an enormous wave of momentum, and it could be only a matter of time before the most dominant Proving Ground team since Pure Gold finally meets their match. I'll have a Proving Ground card posted sometime soon this week.

So, after a couple of weeks of big shows taking over and pushing the regular stuff back a fair bit, Proving Ground comes back this upcoming Monday, and we're going to be seeing a lot of change... Avery Adonis Alexander vs. Rafael Gallego
Anna Bryant vs. Mercedes Ortega
The Yoshida Twins vs. Winter Fresh
Sanya Markov vs. Akira Ryusaki
Gabriela Gallego vs. Reina del Tigre
SATOMI and HAYATO vs. Titania and Christina Wagner
Rey de la Carne vs. Golden Tiger
Hugo Dirksen vs. ???
The Excellent Blades vs. ??? Kicking things off, we find that the Gallego Twins have officially signed full-time to Proving Ground... and they'll start things off as Rafael takes on one-half of the Muscle Machines. Avery Adonis Alexander would love to pick up a win over Rafael here, as the Gallegos have been more than impressive in their few appearances, but it's not going to be an easy task. Anna Bryant's foray onto Showdown has officially come to an end, and she comes to Proving Ground in an effort to turn her fortunes around. Seen as one of the Blackwood Academy's brightest, she fell well short of expectations, but she's likely to bounce back here... still, she's got to deal with new signing Mercedes Ortega, and no doubt this is going to be a tough debut. Another pair of newcomers here, as the Yoshida Twins, still the reigning Academy Tag Team Champions, have gotten a surprisingly early promotion from the Academy. While they'll continue to defend their titles, their new home is Proving Ground, and they're looking to make a splash on day one as they take on Winter Fresh... Akira Ryusaki may have dropped the Top Prospect Championship at Sky's the Limit, but he's not going to let it wear at him for long... still, if he wants to recover from that defeat, he's going to have an uphill battle against the Russian powerhouse that is Sanya Markov. This could be one of the roughest matches of the night. Gabriela Gallego may prove to be the breakout star of the Twins, but make no mistake, even she may not have an easy time with this one, as she squares off with Reina del Tigre. And while Reina may have fallen short of capturing the Inspire Championship at Sky's the Limit, she's still one of the more dangerous members of Proving Ground, and of the Golden Ambush... Speaking of those who failed to capture the Inspire Championship, SATOMI will now turn her attention towards someone that's been something of a rival to her from the day she arrived. Accompanying her, her brother HAYATO as they take on Titania and Christina Wagner, in a battle of pure strikers against raw power. Rey de la Carne is ready to get back into the mix... and what better way to do that than by squaring off with one of his two upcoming opponents? After Chico Con Carne's victory in the Big Impact tournament, Rey's set to challenge the Golden Ambush with his brother in an effort to win the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships... but can he stop the Tiger one-on-one? Closing out the night, we have two matches in which we don't yet know who the opponents will be. Hugo Dirksen will take the first, but there's simply no telling who the Dutchman will be facing here... all we know for sure is that it'll be a newcomer to Proving Ground, but what could that possibly mean for the roster? And finally, the Excellent Blades will also find themselves staring down a new team to Proving Ground. The Blades have been perhaps one of the best teams Proving Ground's seen in a long time, but without knowing who to plan for, can they hold out against their opponents this week? Just who else is arriving here on Proving Ground... who's changing shows, and who's stayed put?

Well, we're back into the swing of things already. Proving Ground has played its hand, and we're gonna see just what that means for the future. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/679113978Youtube: youtu.be/QyEiYCvbWSAQuick Results Avery Adonis Alexander def. Rafael Gallego Anna Bryant def. Mercedes Ortega Winter Fresh def. The Yoshida Twins Sanya Markov def. Akira Ryusaki Gabriela Gallego def. Reina del Tigre SATOMI and HAYATO def. Titania and Christina Wagner Golden Tiger def. Rey de la Carne Hugo Dirksen def. Rilantha De Nav The Excellent Blades def. The Rising Storm Write-ups A wild start to the night, without even an entrance to speak of... clearly, Rafael was eager to get out there and take on AAA. Perhaps too eager, as he wound up unable to keep pace with Alexander, and the match would end in strange fashion when AAA landed a pair of elbow drops and scored the pinfall. There were a lot of new faces on Proving Ground tonight, but none handled themselves better than Anna Bryant, who seems to have immediately taken to her new surroundings. Pitted against fellow newcomer Mercedes Ortega, Anna broke out everything she had, and put this one away with her Small Package Driver. Her future finally looks brighter as she begins a new stage of her young career. The Yoshida Twins finally ran into a team they couldn't just steamroll. Winter Fresh was at their best tonight, and Fresh Suzuki in particular was the star of the show here, weathering everything Naoko and Shiori could think of and coming away with a flash pin to score the victory while chaos reigned in the ring. As good as Akira Ryusaki has been, this has been a rough stretch for him. First, he lost the Top Prospect Championship to Victor Kintelas... and now, Sanya Markov basically dismantled him, crushing him from bell to bell and landing a brutal senton off the top rope to pick up the win. Sanya could easily be one of the most dangerous men Proving Ground's ever seen... This was not how the Golden Ambush wanted to start their night. Reina del Tigre gave it everything she had, but Gabriela Gallego was ahead of the game, keeping pace with Reina and eventually landing a crushing 450 Splash... and despite the protests of the Tigers at ringside, that was the end of it. From day one, SATOMI and Titania have not gotten along... and it only got worse here as both teams laid into each other without any hesitation, dishing out everything they had. Still, it wasn't SATOMI or Titania, but HAYATO that scored the winning blow, locking Titania in the signature Tachibana submission, and scoring a rare tapout from the Blue Bomber. Looking ahead to their tag title shot against the Golden Ambush, Rey de la Carne took on Golden Tiger... and while he managed to bring his usual brand of offense into this one, Tiger didn't seem willing to play along for even a second, eventually catching Rey with a surprise moonsault to score the win. The first mystery arrival wound up being none other than Rilantha De Nav... and much to the surprise of everyone, perhaps even including Ril herself, Hugo Dirksen proved to be too much after a grueling match that saw both sides throwing out nearly everything they had at each other. But the Dutchman locked in the Cattle Mutilation, and Ril had no choice but to give in. Let nobody ever say that the Excellent Blades are lacking in any field. Tasked with taking on the most decorated team in Phoenix Rising, the Blades rose to the occasion, and toppled the Rising Storm, with Donna Nobel proving once again to be an incredible workhorse for her team, and scoring the victory on Anahera with a cross-arm suplex. They may have fallen short at Sky's the Limit, but the Blades can still be called one of Proving Ground's best teams. We have Evergreen coming up on Thursday. And a certain challenger had words for the man she'll be facing this Thursday... for the PEWA Extreme Championship. Elly Blackwood, speaking not long after Young Blood's match at Golden Touch #6: "So here we are, in the wake of yet another match that proves that Young Blood isn't a wrestler, he's a rabid dog. A man that goes out for one reason and one reason only: to walk out to that ring and HURT people. You don't give two shits about titles, or prestige, or being called '#1', because if you did, you wouldn't have made a mockery of it with Stanford Bradley, and you sure as hell wouldn't keep up this psychotic vendetta against anyone who steps into that ring across from you, taking their fucking lives into their own hands, anymore.
Well, you know what, Young Blood? I really don't give a shit what you've done to everyone else in your wake. I don't give a single shit about this idea that you're the most dangerous man in the wrestling world right now. Because you need to remember something, through all the matches you've had, through all the people you've broken, for every time you've walked out to that ring and left someone in a heap on the mat...
You still have one single stain on your record. And that's ME. And after Thursday night? Not only is that stain going to remain, not only will you not be able to wipe it away, you're going to live with the knowledge that out of every single person who's ever faced you: I'll be the one that you couldn't beat. I'll be the one that stood in your way every single time you started acting up. I'll be the one that stands up and tells you, to your FACE, to fuck off... the last time you showed up here in Evergreen, I drove your ass out, in defense of the place I call home today.
This time, it's not just about defending Evergreen's honor. It's about the PEWA. It's about the title that you've made a fucking mockery of. It's about punching a hole in your ego a mile wide so that nobody ever, EVER has to put up with your arrogance, your attitude, your BULLSHIT... ever again.
Mark my words, Young Blood. I've said it before, I'll say it again. The world will be watching on Thursday night. They're gonna watch as I beat your ass, as I take the PEWA Extreme Championship from your undeserving hands, and they'll watch... waiting to see if I'll be the one to break you once and for all. I'll show no pity. No remorse. And if you show up with anything less than the heart of a fucking killer that you've shown these past few months... I'll make sure you regret it for the rest of your miserable life."

Because I feel like actually doing some kinda promo for whatever reason, Fresh Suzuki, shortly after her tag team match, declares that Winter (Fresh) is coming!: "Naoko-san, Shiori-san, you guys did pretty good for a first outing here! For once, I guess I'm the senpai to someone's kohai, huh? So 'cause of that, I couldn't let myself go easy on you two tonight, sorry!
"Mmm, thinking about it just now... with that, and our last couple of matches with Adrenaline Rush, that puts us on the path to a pretty good winning streak so far, right? I wanna say we're at three in a row now. And I've been in Proving Ground for, what, two years? And for a lot of that time, I've been seen as the underdog in every matchup... Even against people my own age with the same experience level... And when I've gotten the big chances, I've kinda come up short... Which I guess makes me less of an underdog and more of a choke artist, huh...
"So I think it's time for a change there! For both me and Rin-chan. We lost to the Golden Ambush last time we fought, but we're not the same team we were a couple of months ago, and I'm not the same Young Girl I was even then! I know we have to get through every other team here... The Excellent Blades, Adrenaline Rush, The Limbtakers, SATOMI and her brother, and that crazy huge lady who busted me wide open a while back and her pal Wagner! Don't think I forgot about that! ... And now we also have the Rising Storm to contend with too... Jeez, there's a lot of competition, now that I'm thinking about it...!
"Aaah, but enough worrying about that! 2020 is our year!! Whether it's those damn tigers or some other team, we're aiming straight for the top! And when it's time to light the fireworks and pop open the champagne, with the crowd as the tailwind pushing past the finish line, it's going to be Rin-chan and me with the tag titles to go with Akira-senpai's Top Prospect gold! Count on it!!"

All hell is about to break loose this Thursday, as Elly Blackwood so fiercely reminded everyone. Evergreen episode 33 is coming in hard, and while none of Evergreen's own championships are on the line, there will be a championship match capping off the night regardless. Sabrina vs. Jennifer HunterEternamente Verde vs. LuciTasharun and Kantar vs. Argent and a mystery partnerAndrea Hawke vs. Ash DefiantKiana Yamazaki vs. Penelope LeaVeronika Armstrong vs. ChasityConcrete Pete and Skidmark vs. eMo (Eddy/Sookie)Elly Blackwood vs. Young Blood for the PEWA Extreme ChampionshipKicking off the night, Sabrina makes her "official" arrival in Evergreen after a couple of bonus match appearances. She's looked very dangerous so far despite having what seems like next to no actual "wrestling" skill, and Evergreen may very well prove to be the perfect home for the Jersey She-Devil... but standing in her way is Jennifer Hunter, who has quickly made a name for herself here in Evergreen.
It's another wild night for eMo, as every single member is in action tonight... in the wake of Sky's the Limit, they still hold both of Evergreen's championships. And there are plenty of people out to change that... perhaps none more than Eternamente Verde, who would love to reclaim either title. She'll have to take on Luci this week, though, and clearly will need to earn her way back into contention.
Argent isn't done with the Demons just yet. Although he wasn't able to take down Tasharun at Sky's the Limit, he isn't remotely done with trying to take him down, and has challenged the Demons to a tag match here in Evergreen... but who on earth has he brought in to stand alongside him? We haven't even gotten but a single hint about what's coming here...
Andrea Hawke has yet to make a truly major impact here in Evergreen, but that could easily change in the blink of an eye. This week, she takes on Ash Defiant, and a win could potentially lead to Hawke starting on a path towards the Evergreen Championship. Still, where Ash is concerned, things are never that easy.
We still don't know if or when Mercy Devine will ever become Mercy Devine again... for now, we're still here with Kiana Yamazaki, as she squares off with Penelope Lea, the second eMo matchup of the night, and although Kiana may not be the wild hardcore boss that we know her best as, she still won't likely make life easy for Penelope here.
Veronika Armstrong fell short against Strawberry Sookie at Sky's the Limit, but her fight against eMo isn't over yet. Aiming to get a second shot at the champion, she's right back into the fray, taking on Chasity as she has her sights set on bringing Evergreen's titles back where they belong.
eMo has been the most dominant group in Evergreen for months now... but this could get really ugly in a hurry for the reigning tag team champions. Concrete Pete and Skidmark have continued to be one of the more surprising duos in Evergreen, with nobody having anticipated they'd actually team up, but they've been effective... and could be the spark that starts eMo's downfall. But with how good Eddy and Sookie have been... it won't be so simple.
You're not seeing things. Given the current situation of the PEWA Extreme Championship, with Young Blood simply refusing to defend it in its home fed, drastic measures have to be taken... and this match has been a very long time coming. Elly Blackwood remains the one single person that Young Blood has faced, but never beaten... and he will look to finally change that here. It was said that Young Blood would never be allowed back into an Evergreen ring after Elly drove him off the first time... and yet, here we are for one last go at it. Refereeing this match by demand will be none other than Kevin Royce, who may very well be the only man in the business willing and able to keep a handle on this match.

A message from PEWA President, Biff Taylor: Biff Taylor: Alright, dudes and dudettes of Evergreen, you guys got a hot one on your hands here on Thursday! That's right, your buddy, the Biffmeister has bequeathed you a PEWA Extreme title shot out of the generosity of his heart! Nah, but seriously, Young Blood's such a pain in the ass that he refused to defend our belt on our company's programming, so we're sending him over to you. That's right, the responsibility's on your shoulders now, to put down a dude who's legit injured three of the Office's top five stars in the last few months, who's totally decimated the PEWA's roster, who's such an obnoxious trashhead that we banned him from public speaking!
Biff: I see Elly's the one who's up to bat. You beat him before, but let me give you a lil' scoutin' report. Young Blood's only gotten meaner and somehow more dangerous than the last time you messed with his momentum. Everyone knows his head's not all properly taken care of since Masked Maniac IV DDT'd him into that chair, but nobody's been able to take advantage. He ain't as eager to go up top, but he's laser focused on the mat on dropping people on their own heads, like he's gotta make everyone else suffer like he did. Bet he can still get outwrestled by the right person, and Elly, you better know that not just me, but the whole PEWA locker room's behind you here! We'd like you to put him away for good, but if you just take that damn belt off him, we're alright with that!
Biff: But, let me issue this message to Evergreen management: No matter what goes on this Thursday, I don't wanna see that belt come back with Young Blood! Do anything you have to do to keep that from happenin' and everythin' between Evergreen and us is copacetic, got that? You do anything to separate him and my gold. Plus, don't forget, Elly, you put him down the hard way, ol' Felix said he'd pay out some bonus bucks! So that's even more motivation! Anyway, best luck, Elly, and Kevin...feel free to fast count that bastard all you want...

Well, that's shaken things up considerably, hasn't it? Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/682071908Youtube: youtu.be/WTORxM9FSyoQuick Results Jennifer Hunter def. Sabrina Luci def. Eternamente Verde Tasharun and Kantar def. Argent and Binak Tonorian Andrea Hawke def. Ash Defiant Kiana Yamazaki def. Penelope Lea Veronika Armstrong def. Chasity Concrete Pete and Skidmark def. eMo Young Blood def. Elly Blackwood to retain the PEWA Extreme Championship
Kevin Royce def. Young Blood to become the NEW PEWA Extreme Champion Write-ups Sabrina's finally a full-time member of Evergreen... so fellow newcomer Jennifer Hunter welcomed her the only way she knows how, by nearly injuring the Jersey She-Devil. And while Sabrina's not expected to miss any time, some are saying she should sit out at least one show... the problem is convincing her of that fact. Don't expect her to miss any time at all. Tonight was going to be eMo's night, once again. Luci certainly set the tone for that, with a big win over Eternamente Verde, no hesitation whatsoever... Verde just couldn't get it going, and eMo had their first win of the night early on. Two surprises here: first, that Binak Tonorian proved to be Argent's mystery partner. And second, that Tasharun and Kantar managed to win anyway by focusing their efforts on Argent. This one didn't go well for Argent, in the slightest... despite having the giant on his side, it just wasn't enough to overcome the demons. What more can you say here? Two supremely talented wrestlers giving each other their best, and Andrea certainly had to work hard for this win, pushing through a Defiant Bomb en route to landing a Phoenix Dive and managing to come away with a much-needed victory. Do not assume that because Kiana Yamazaki is not currently the psychotic hardcore legend-in-the-making that she's not dangerous in Evergreen. She was at her best tonight against Penelope Lea, pulling off a hard-fought win with her technical ability, and make no mistake, she's not going to be an easy win no matter who she's up against. Veronika Armstrong was in no mood tonight. An absolutely brutal destruction of Chasity here, perhaps with lingering frustrations over failing to win the Evergreen Championship from Sookie at Sky's the Limit... Chasity certainly paid for it all, a Mercykiller putting a swift end to this one. eMo's never looked quite this mortal before. Eddy and Sookie just couldn't quite get their usual strategy going against Pete and Skidmark... likely thanks to the big men being too big to do their usual work against. Either way, this sets up an Evergreen Tag Team Championship match at the next show... look out, we may finally have a team ready to take the next step. For months, Young Blood has been ravaging every single opponent that gets in his way, injuring many of them, defending his championship and #1 Office ranking without a shred of mercy or remorse. Elly Blackwood was the last person left that had beaten him, that he hadn't yet gotten his revenge on. And for so much of this match, it looked like she had his number, intent on practically ripping his arm off entirely. A big splash near the end nearly took this for the challenger... But Young Blood kicked out, and as he so often does, hit the Last Will and Testament, and scored the three-count. To say the crowd was disappointed would be an understatement. But some people noticed that referee Kevin Royce had disappeared in the chaos of the aftermath... and then, his theme blared over the loudspeakers. The man himself had traded his referee gear for his signature black tank top and a pair of jeans... and he issued a second challenge to Young Blood on the spot. To say this was a war would be inaccurate. Although Young Blood fought to the best of his ability, it was clear that Kevin was in no mood to put up with anything tonight... Iron Claw Slams, a huge powerbomb flying off the top rope, and just after Young Blood broke out the fork, Kevin would land his chokebomb for the three-count. And there was much rejoicing. Kevin Royce"It really all came down to a clash of generations, didn't it? The hot-shot rising star with an attitude taking on the hardcore legend. And most people would assume that the legend was stepping aside for the young guy, cementing his legacy, making goddamn sure he was on top to show the rest of the world he's the future of the business.
Most people are fuckin' stupid, is what I'm getting at.
Face it, Young Blood... there was no way in hell you were coming out of Evergreen with that title still around your waist. Elly fell short, and I'll tell you I'm surprised by that... but I had this planned from the moment we announced your ass was coming back to Evergreen for one last go. You got rid of the one loss on your record, finally beat your demons, FINALLY got past that one little nagging detail in your head.
But you forget that Evergreen is my fucking turf. Doesn't matter who's in charge around here... Kiana's still the boss, sure. But Evergreen will always, and forever, be MY fed. And I'm never gonna let some punk stomp into MY fed and have the run of the place.
Biff, you're welcome to call me up any time you want me defending this title. I'll defend it every single PEWA show until I drop it, if you want. I'm not some little shit that takes his ball and goes home out of some delusional fantasy. I may be the most hardcore son of a bitch in the Pacific Northwest, but I'm a fucking professional... and I'll damn well act like it.
So whoever wants to step up for the most important title in Philly... come at me. Let's see who's got what it takes.
And Young Blood... if you wanna bitch about not being at your best, you shoulda thought about that before you decided to blow off two defenses like a coward. Way I see it, you don't deserve a rematch, you don't deserve to be #1, you don't deserve to ever sniff a main event for the rest of your probably-short career. So if I can be more blunt than usual for a moment:
Young Blood, you can go fuck yourself."

Before we get into the card for Monday's upcoming show ( finally, the return of Showdown!) we've got a bit of a... confrontation to look at. Angel Leblanc "Week after week, month after month... year, after year. Everyone has come to learn the truth, that Les Beautes Blondes now stand at the very top, no matter where we may go, no matter who we may face. And I, of course, now stand above even Phoenix Rising's illustrious 'Queen', as you all witnessed at Sky's the Limit... a glorious, beautiful victory that nevertheless shows how merciful I can be. I could have ended dear Shiana's career, that night... but I chose to allow her to continue. That is, if she can continue to live with the shame that she's brought to herself, to her partners, to her family... but then, to speak of her family, what more can one expect? Wretched, every last one of them... especially now that we discover the brute that is the Dragon is one of them. Vile... disgraceful. And none of you have any place in my ring, not anymore..." Angel Leblanc looked more smug and self-confident than perhaps anyone had ever seen her... her voice dripping with venom towards the Sentarl family, every taunt a sharp, vicious barb fired off without any remorse. "There is no team greater than Les Beautes Blondes. There is no force more dangerous than Angel Leblanc. And no Sentarl will ever surpass us."
"You really wanna make that bet?" Angel shot a glare to the side, rage flickering across her face. Making her way towards the arrogant woman was none other than Eri Sentarl... the Little Phoenix very nearly able to look Angel in the eye. "I hear a lot of tough talk coming from you and the rest of your entourage, but I don't see a lot of action besides your win at Sky's the Limit. Hell, that match was the first time in a long time I think I didn't see you choke outright. You wanna call yourself the best around? Here's your real problem: you're part of the same generation, the same group as Mom, Dad, Kileas, Telan... the old guard. But in case you haven't noticed, Phoenix Rising is going through a bit of a renaissance right now." Eri took great effort to drag out as much of a "French" sound to the word as she could... and Angel shuddered at it.
"Do you have some sort of point to all of this?" Angel grumbled. "You're hardly in any position yourself to be making claims..."
"I've got a plan, and that's enough to knock you off." Eri smirked. "Here's the deal. Two tag matches, Monday night. You pick your two teams, I'll pick mine. Eventually... who knows. Maybe we'll get the full four-on-four experience."
"Four?!" Angel laughed, waving a hand dismissively towards the Little Phoenix. "Ah, very well, I'll humor you this time. You already know what our teams will be. You may keep yours a secret, if you wish. But your first team will face Michelle and Revon... your second, myself and Elise. And you will be crushed beneath us."
"We'll see." Eri shrugged. "But keep this in mind, Angel. The future's coming in fast. Phoenix Rising is going through a rebirth, just like its namesake. And if you're not careful... you're gonna get caught in the flames." The young woman gave a little wave, leaving the room, Angel staring daggers at her all the way... Phoenix Rising Showdown, Episode 60 Kyle Anderson vs. Kanjirin TonorianLa Relampaga vs. Haruka MatsuraEri Sentarl Team #1 vs. Michelle Rochefort and Revon BeauregardCandace Monroe vs. Todd ColtonVictor Kintelas vs. Natasha CloverEri Sentarl Team #2 vs. Angel Leblanc and Elise PichonSilver Hawk vs. Markos AndreasSelisha vs. Rachel White for the Pacific Northwest ChampionshipThe Wild West vs. The SFG (Urani/Dragon) for the Phoenix Rising Tag Team ChampionshipsKicking off the show this week, we see the Showdown debut of the Five Star talent. Kyle Anderson steps into the ring against maybe one of the toughest opponents he could draw at this stage... as Kanjirin Tonorian is a man that has never hesitated to wipe out anyone and everyone in his path. Still, Kanjirin won't enjoy nearly as much of a strength advantage as he normally does... Five Star Kyle could be looking for a huge win to kick off his Showdown run.
La Relampaga has arrived on the big stage, and she's looking for a big win herself. Haruka Matsura, meanwhile, is still seething over her loss of the Pacific Northwest Championship... to Rachel White, much to the ninja's chagrin. She'll aim to knock off the Lightning Luchadora in her debut match... but look out, because Relampaga is back on the same show with former tag partner Layla Al-Amin...
The first of two tag matches set up by the above promo, this one sees Michelle Rochefort and Revon Beauregard back in action as a team. Despite their last outing ending... less than ideally, it seems unlikely that either team Eri assembles will be as brutal as Pure Gold was... still, the Blondes may want to be careful going into this one.
The Limbtakers are coming, and although RNA won't be making her debut this week, her partner certainly will... and she'll get the biggest loudmouth around in her debut match. Todd Colton would love to knock a little humility into the Australian fighter, but Candace has been rising through the ranks faster than most... and no doubt, Candace will be ready for a lot of Todd's offense after training with RNA for so long.
The GOAT are looking to truly become the GOAT as they move to Showdown, and Top Prospect Champion, Victor Kintelas, has his sights set on his first opponent... the woman who claims the Pacific Northwest Championship is her title, and hers alone. But can Natasha really stand up to the only two-time Top Prospect in Proving Ground's history?
Elise Pichon's in-ring time with Phoenix Rising has been somewhat limited as of late, but she's back in action alongside Angel Leblanc this week... the question is, who is Eri assembling to face her? One has to assume Eri herself will be in this match, but who will be her partner? Will the Blondes simply be facing the Sentarl sisters in their second match of the night? Or is there something more to this plan?
The final roster move sees none other than the ultimate fan favorite, SILVER HAWK, make his way to Showdown... and what a debut match it's going to be. Markos Andreas would love to bring the newcomer down a peg, but can he keep up with the power-armored dynamo?
Rachel White scored maybe one of the most shocking victories at Sky's the Limit when she took down Haruka Matsura and became the Pacific Northwest Champion. But her trials are far from over... the Malevolent Triad looks out for its own, and Selisha is stepping in to challenge Rachel next, looking to avenge Haruka's defeat. We haven't seen much of leader Fenix Oscuro as of late... what will her presence here be?
We've been keeping an eye on the buildup for this match for some time. The Wild West earned the right to challenge the SFG for the tag titles recently... but after Laenara Kintelas captured the World Championship at Sky's the Limit, suddenly the challenge looks far, far more daunting, as the Black Dragon will step into the ring to defend the last belt she currently still holds. Can the Marshalls really dethrone the most dominant champion in all of Phoenix Rising's history? Can they finally eliminate the Dragon's hoard once and for all?

Showdown's back, and it was a good night to make your first appearance on the show, except in one case. Also a very bad night to be someone near the top of the heap. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/686019734Youtube: youtu.be/ixUNZ4G2SOQQuick Results Kyle Anderson def. Kanjirin Tonorian La Relampaga def. Haruka Matsura Michelle Rochefort and Revon Beauregard def. Kaelara Sentarl and Anari Lynn Heyward Candace Monroe def. Todd Colton Natasha Clover def. Victor Kintelas Eri Sentarl and Listalva Anne Heyward def. Angel Leblanc and Elise Pichon Silver Hawk def. Markos Andreas Selisha def. Rachel White to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion The Wild West def. The SFG to become the NEW Phoenix Rising Tag Team Champions Write-ups Five Star Kyle has arrived, and picked up an emphatic victory here. Despite Kanjirin seemingly scouting much of Kyle's biggest pieces of offense, he couldn't quite stop all of it... and while the one double-arm suplex into triangle scissor combo that landed didn't finish the job, Kyle's Baltimore Bomb certainly did, ensuring everyone takes notice of him from day one. Never claim the odds are against La Relampaga. The Lightning Luchadora made her debut in a big way here, matching Haruka Matsura's agility move for move, and fighting through everything the ninja had to throw her way. Once again, Haruka ends the night in frustration... can she find her way back to the winning path? It was obvious from the start that Eri Sentarl was going to include her sister in the setup against Les Beautes Blondes. And in hindsight, it's hardly a surprise that she chose the Heywards along with Kae. That said, seeing Kae teaming up with Anari was a bit of a surprise itself, and the two powerhouses were a tough duo here, though Revon Beauregard would finally get the upper hand and locked in a brutal submission to take the first of the two matches for LBB. Candace Monroe is here to remind everyone what made the Limbtakers such a popular team in Proving Ground. And though she fought this one herself, RNA stood at ringside in support, and Candace made Natasha Clover watch as she practically dismantled Todd over the course of the match... And while Todd put up a hell of a fight, being busted open early and dealing with Candace's relentless leg offense would make sure the Australian picked up her first Showdown victory. Natasha didn't really want to be out here for this match. She wanted to be backstage with Todd. And she took out her frustrations over this fact on the debuting Victor Kintelas, the only debuting star from Proving Ground that didn't pick up the win tonight. Natasha was a brutally effective wrestler tonight... vicious, cruel, relentless. But some of her actions may find her in the crosshairs of Kellaron Sentarl before long... Everybody already knew exactly what this match was going to be the moment the first tag match began. It didn't change how impressive Eri and Listalva were as a duo. The two were a well-oiled machine here, dragging Angel and Elise to the limit, and after a marathon of a match, they finally put an exclamation point on the end of this one... Lis hitting a diving double-knee drop, followed up immediately by Eri landing a fast-paced moonsault, and picking up a huge win, ensuring LBB will have to take their new foes seriously going forward. Silver Hawk would simply not be denied. Markos Andreas dished out everything he could against Hawk, fisherman suplexes, exploders, strikes... and Silver Hawk just kept up his relentlessly fast pace, eventually snapping Markos up in a series of quick flash pins to pick up a major victory. Most people knew this was coming. Selisha was simply not going to allow Rachel White to retain her title here tonight, and after putting Rachel through a gauntlet of poison ranas, submissions and pure lucha agility, she locked in the Fangs of Fascination and left Rachel down and out, claiming the Pacific Northwest Championship for herself. Despite the odds they faced, despite their opponents being the most dangerous duo in Phoenix Rising, despite the raw power that the Wild West were tasked with bringing down, they pulled it off. And it was Cassandra Marshall that struck the final blow, standing up to the Titan, Urani Whitemist, laying in a series of brutal elbows, and toppling the SFG to claim the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championships. The Marshalls are on top for the first time in a very long time... and the Dragon has run out of gold. The Black Dragon "So here I stand... a dragon without a hoard left to my name. Every title, every accomplishment from the last year and a half... finally wiped away. Do I intend to reclaim the World Championship? Not now. Laenara can enjoy her time at the top. The tag team championships? Much as I would have wanted to keep them... I'm no tag partner. It's never been my place. I fight for my own purpose. Do I intend to walk away now that I have nothing?
No. This is simply a new beginning. I have nothing more... and so, I will start from the beginning once again. There is nowhere in the world that I will not go to ensure that the name of the Black Dragon remains one of the most feared on the planet. I will claim every title that's in my power to take. I will face anyone, anytime, anywhere. And I will have my hoard of gold once again." Laenara Kintelas "It's been a month of celebration, triumph, holding my head high and soaking in the fact that I'm at the top of the mountain. The best in the world. The World Champion. But the time for celebrating is over. I got tonight off simply because they wanted to showcase all the new faces that were coming in, and they still didn't get through all of 'em. Doesn't matter. I'm back in action next Showdown, World Championship in tow, I'm coming back to remind everyone just why I'm the new World Champion. And I intend to find my first challenger in two weeks. I don't really care who it ends up being. Dragon's already said she won't look for a rematch. So maybe I gotta look at some willing names. Maybe Shiana Sentarl wants one more crack at the title she's failed to claim twice now. Maybe you've got better odds with me than with Dragon? Maybe Firehawk would do better against someone that isn't family? Maybe someone new gets to step up? We'll figure it out soon enough.
But I warn you. Whoever steps up first... I'm not gonna hesitate to slap you right back down. Because I'm not letting go of this. Not when I've finally gotten this far. Not when I'm finally here at the biggest goal of my entire life.
If you want this title, you're going to have to fight for your life to claim it. Because that's what I intend to do every single time I step into that ring. If you want to beat me, you're gonna have to beat me down and out to take it. So bring it on. I'll be waiting." Eri Sentarl "You knew it was coming. You knew exactly who you were gonna face from the moment the bell rang to start the first match. You knew, just by obvious logic that you, Angel, were gonna be up against me and Lis. And you thought you knew exactly what you were getting into.
But see, you can't come up with a plan against us. See, Kae and I are a great team 'cause we're always in sync with each other, and work out each others' flaws. We fight as a team 'cause we're blood, we always know what comes next.
Lis and I have an even deeper connection than that. I've gotten to know her better than anyone in the world over the past few years... I know just about everything about her. In the ring, out of the ring, you name it, I even know a lot of her secrets that you'll never even get a whisper of.
So what I'm gonna suggest to you, Angel, and the rest of your French tag-alongs, is that you watch tonight's match back. Over and over again. And if you can take your eyes off the best finish of the year, you can get an idea of just what it is that puts Lis and me in a league above you. The couple of years that LBB's been kicking along, you've never run into anyone willing to meet your entire group face-to-face. Sure, Mom thought about it, but she stopped short of really taking you guys on.
I'm not gonna stop there. I'm not gonna stop at tonight. I'm gonna challenge you in every possible way. I'm gonna make sure you never get a moment's rest from staring down your reckoning. You've got both the Sentarls and the Heywards breathing down your necks, and by the time we're all done, there's not gonna be a single doubt that we've taken the future into our own hands.
But, y'know. 'Vive la France', or whatever. See you next show."

Got a big show coming up for Monday, with a Proving Ground tag title match and a huge #1 contender's match for the Top Prospect Championship. Anna Bryant vs. Katherine White
The Yoshida Twins vs. Adrenaline Rush
Akira Ryusaki vs. Xiu Mei Li
SATOMI vs. Christina Wagner
The Excellent Blades vs. The Gallego Twins
Reina del Tigre vs. Mercedes Ortega
Sanya Markov vs. HAYATO vs. Hugo Dirksen vs. Gary Gear vs. Rilantha De Nav vs. Nick MacLeod vs. Arthur Wright vs. Anahera, #1 Contender's Match for the Top Prospect Championship
Amber Wright vs. Fresh Suzuki
La Familia vs. The Golden Ambush for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships Starting things off this week, it's a sharp contrast of young up-and-comers. Anna Bryant seemingly has yet to really live up to her full potential, while Katherine White has been one of the most surprising stars on Proving Ground as of late, picking up wild upset victories time and time again... she may find herself in line for an Inspire Championship shot in the near future if she can keep it up. But Anna kicked off her Proving Ground run with a strong win over Mercedes Ortega last week, and she'll be looking to keep that rolling against Katherine. The Yoshida Twins got off to a bit of a rough start in their Proving Ground debut, though they kept pace with Winter Fresh, eventually falling against the pure speed and agility of the more senior team. This week they'll have another chance to show what they've got as they take on Adrenaline Rush, although this will come just two nights after they defend their Academy Tag Team Championships against Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers... and Adrenaline Rush surely won't give them much of a chance to breathe here. Make no mistake, the Rising Storm came primarily to put the Proving Ground tag division on notice. But as we'll see on this card, the duo is also not afraid to seek singles glory as well, and both seem to be aiming for the Top Prospect Championship over the Inspire Championship. Xiu Mei Li stepped aside this time to let Anahera take the first shot, but she'll still take on former champion Akira Ryusaki here, looking to make a bigger impact after the Rising Storm fell against the Excellent Blades last week. Christina Wagner isn't done with SATOMI, not by a long shot. After last week's tag match, Christina seems to have set her sights on taking down SATOMI herself, and no doubt Titania will be watching this match closely as her tag partner faces off against one of her fiercest rivals on Proving Ground... but HAYATO may also be a factor here as he continues to accompany his sister. The Excellent Blades picked up one of their most impressive wins as a team last week as they took down the debuting Rising Storm. Getting a win over the most decorated tag team in Phoenix Rising history is no easy feat, and if there weren't already a tag title match planned for this week, it might have earned the Blades another shot... but for now, they'll take on the surging Gallego Twins, who seem to be in search of a major showcase victory. With her tag partners defending their titles, Reina del Tigre continues to seek redemption in the Inspire division. She'll take on rookie Mercedes Ortega this week, looking to knock off one of the most impressive young talents that Proving Ground's seen in a long time... but the former Inspire Champion isn't likely to give Mercedes even an inch in this one. A colossal 8-way battle royal will decide who faces Victor Kintelas for the Top Prospect Championship next... these eight all looking for a big-time opportunity. Some newcomers, some older mainstays, but all dangerous, and all vying to be the one who stands tall at the end of the night. Of note: both Sanya Markov and Nick MacLeod entering this match, almost a reminder that the two are not (yet) a regular team. In addition, both Rilantha De Nav and Anahera continuing to show that they're willing to face off with anyone and everyone on the Proving Ground roster. Who will be the #1 contender? Amber Wright defended her Inspire Championship against seemingly impossible odds at Sky's the Limit, defeating both SATOMI and Reina del Tigre to retain the title. Now, she aims to keep her run going, but looking to topple her this week is none other than Fresh Suzuki, who's been on a wild run as of late... one of Proving Ground's best. A win here could give Suzuki the biggest opportunity of her young career... a shot at the Inspire Championship. Finally, a match earned with Chico Con Carne's victory in the Big Impact tournament, La Familia will challenge for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships, attempting to finally dethrone the Golden Ambush, who have looked nigh-unstoppable as champions thus far. Fighting alongside his brother, Rey de la Carne, Chico will look to make the most of the opportunity he earned, and come away with tag gold...

Another really solid show tonight, top to bottom. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/692971807Youtube: youtu.be/_H7G642dUFkQuick Results Anna Bryant def. Katherine White The Yoshida Twins def. Adrenaline Rush Akira Ryusaki def. Xiu Mei Li SATOMI def. Christina Wagner The Gallego Twins def. The Excellent Blades Reina del Tigre def. Mercedes Ortega Sanya Markov won the battle royal to become #1 contender Fresh Suzuki def. Amber Wright La Familia def. The Golden Ambush to become the NEW Proving Ground Tag Team Champions Bonus: CĂ©line Chevalier def. Calista Vargas Write-ups This change of scenery has already done Anna Bryant a world of good, as she took on Katherine White and for the most part, outclassed her. Anna doesn't seem to have taken her move to Proving Ground as a demotion... it certainly seems like she's making the most of it. Just two nights after their final Academy match, in which they lost the Academy Tag Team Championships, the Yoshida Twins bounced right back and took down Adrenaline Rush in a hard-fought match. It would wind up being Naoko to get the job done after the twins endured everything Nitro and Thunder had to throw their way, trapping Nitro in her signature leglock to get the submission win. The Rising Storm's tenure on Proving Ground has gotten off to a rough start, likely because the duo may have underestimated their competition. Akira Ryusaki showed exactly how much of a mistake that is, completely outplaying Xiu Mei Li, fighting off her STF and locking in one of his own to get the victory. SATOMI has made one thing perfectly clear: she's gunning for the top spot once again, and Christina Wagner simply couldn't get in the way. And although Christina's raw power served her well here, back-to-back Nomisugi Knees from SATOMI laid the German-Canadian out, ensuring SATOMI will remain in the conversation as one of Proving Ground's best. The Gallego Twins just keep getting better. A wild, chaotic match that saw everyone get their shots in, Rafael took the upper hand late in the match, and while Nicole's back was turned, he landed the finishing blow on Donna Nobel, scoring the win before Nicole could realize what had happened. Reina del Tigre continues to be a dangerous foe for anyone she faces, and Mercedes Ortega simply didn't seem prepared for it. Reina didn't let up for a second against the young rookie sensation, and a crushing suplex ended Ortega's night in a hurry. With over-the-top rules in effect, it didn't take long for things to get rolling here, with both Anahera and Ril tossed out in short order. Indeed, this was a wild one, with everyone vying to be the last one standing, until only Hugo Dirksen and Sanya Markov were left... and Sanya, taking full advantage of where he stood, tossed Hugo out to give himself a shot at Victor Kintelas in the near future. We might be witnessing the future of Proving Ground. Fresh Suzuki arrived to this match in style, with a brand-new look, plenty of new offense, and a very, very impressive victory over the Inspire Champion... ensuring that we'll see this match again soon. Fresh Suzuki might be on the verge of greatness... if she can do this again, she'll win her first title with Proving Ground. The Golden Ambush had looked nigh-unstoppable for months. Nobody had come really all that close to dethroning them as Proving Ground Tag Team Champions... not until tonight. And with the opportunity that Chico fought so hard for, La Familia stepped up in a big way, and it was Chico once again taking matters into his own hands... after countless rope-breaks, so many saves, Chico landed a crushing 450 Splash, and scored the biggest three-count of the night, toppling the Golden Ambush and completing Chico's journey to claim the titles he'd fought so hard just to get a shot at. A very, very well-deserved win for Rey and Chico tonight. One final, extra match ran after the main show, as it so often does... and it involved none other than a young woman that apparently has been signed to be a member of Les Beautes Blondes. If this match was any indication, anyone in opposition to LBB might want to watch their step, as Celine Chevalier was absolutely fantastic against Calista Vargas, carrying herself with a confident arrogance and finishing a hard-fought win with a brutal leglock. Celine may very well be an ace-in-the-hole for Angel and her allies... perhaps an extra edge as she prepares to face the Sentarls and Heywards?

Fresh Suzuki, after her match: Fresh Suzuki is positively ecstatic, pacing in circles in the backstage area, before turning to face the camera with a big grin.
"Yeah! One step closer to the Inspire championship! The last time I got this close... well, my chance ended up going up in smoke, I guess. And to Amber Wright, too... But! I won't let anyone count me out of the running! And I think that tonight I proved that. A lot of people probably don't see me as a submission specialist, or anything, but... when I was put in that Triangle Scorpion lock a couple months back, it made me realize I need a weapon of my own too. I had to work it out in the training gym and all, but I wanted to mix a Sharpshooter and a figure four together and... well, that's what I came up with! It kind of works as a foil your own move too, huh? Not that I was trying for that, but..."
Offscreen chatter is barely audible, only faintly picked up by the microphones.
"Ah! My new outfit? Well... I guess I could have saved it for a title match, but honestly, I wanted to make an impression on everyone in more ways than one! Like I said a couple weeks ago, I've gotten close to getting my first title, again and again... But never sealed the deal! I think that it's time to freshen up my look - no pun intended, okay? - to go with another shot at the gold! Or a shot at a shot at the gold, this time. And, I mean, when I finally got to try on the real deal gear, I thought, 'man, imagine if I had a gold belt to finish off the ensemble' ...
"Which brings us right back to Amber! Amber, you've done a good job of winning and defending that belt in matches where the odds are against you. But, you know, all those multi-woman matches for the title have been as much a curse as a blessing, right? You got what it takes to hold your own against both that crazy Tigre lady and SATOMI a couple of weeks back. But they're distracted from their common opponent, right? I'm not trying to put you down, and I know you know this without me even saying anything, but, like, a match like that and a one on one fight are totally different! You can look at the numbers in a 3-way and say they don't lie, that they spell disaster for the champ. But, like, I don't think that's really the case! Especially when you think about how the other two girls in the ring might wanna tear each other's heads off before turning toward you, yeah? And ever since my first real title match all those months back, every time so far that I've gotten an Inspire title shot, I've had to fight in battle royals, or 3 way dances, or all those other kinds of matches. This time, though, it's just the two of us! And I've still got a trick or two up my sleeve, too - so, hey, you'd better bring your own A-game too next time around or else!"
