Back to Showdown for Monday, as we settle back into the normal, usual routine. There's a lot happening here... what with the Pacific Northwest divisional rankings being reset, and thus, a new beginning for the division... among other things.
Mascara Avispa vs. Rilantha De Nav
The Heyward Sisters vs. Pure Gold
Michelle Rochefort vs. Cassandra Marshall
Anahera vs. Firehawk Sentarl
Todd Colton and Natasha Clover vs. The Sentarl Sisters
Shiana Sentarl vs. Blake Dynamite
Lance Marshall vs. Markos Andreas
Selisha vs. Yuki Maeda for the Pacific Northwest ChampionshipIt's a fresh start to the year for these two, with both seeking to make a case for pushing towards that World Championship in the new year. Rilantha De Nav has found herself bouncing up and down the division for some time, but here, against Mascara Avispa, she'll look to reinvigorate her veteran career... against a man who's looking to break out as one of the biggest stars in Phoenix Rising.
Pure Gold also makes their return this week after being away for some time, and the Heyward sisters are looking to spoil that return and remind the world why they're seen as such a dangerous team. Still, this one won't be easy: against Pure Gold, no matter their record, things are never as easy as one might expect.
Michelle Rochefort is riding a bit of a high lately: Les Beautes Blondes have soared as of late, and although Michelle found herself somewhat lower in the rankings for the Pacific Northwest Championship than expected, a win against Cassandra Marshall would rocket her right back towards the top...
Anahera has two goals in mind for 2020: first, re-establish the Rising Storm as the premiere tag team in Phoenix Rising. That part won't be hard, given their history... but her second goal may prove the tougher, as she's looking to capture the World Championship, and her path starts against Firehawk Sentarl. Firehawk, fresh off of a defeat at the hands of Markos Andreas, will be aiming to make sure he doesn't start a losing streak here in the new year... but there could be a lot on his mind.
The Sentarl Sisters have a bit of history with their opponents this week: having faced Natasha in Pacific Northwest action multiple times, along with Todd Colton's constant taunting of the family (and a brief feud with Kaelara back in Proving Ground), this match is going to have a lot of bad blood behind it... but can Eri and Kae focus on the matter at hand?
Last week, we witnessed an incident so stunning, so shocking, nobody would've anticipated it. Shiana Sentarl, once a paragon among Phoenix Rising, appears to have turned her back on that... and now, states a desire to fight only for her own gain, in pursuit of the World Championship. Blake Dynamite will look to stand in her way, in Shiana's first match of the year... but with this new attitude, can Shiana be stopped?
Lance Marshall is running a hot streak as of late: victories against some of the best of the best, defeating Doc Wyatt at New Year's Bash, and last week, taking down the Alpha Villain, Kileas Kintelas. Markos Andreas, meanwhile, looks to be turning things around for himself after a win over Firehawk Sentarl... but now, he's faced with the dangerous Texan, who looks prepared to take on the Dragon for the World Championship.
Selisha won out in the Pacific Northwest rankings... and so, we find this matchup primed, with perhaps the most dangerous member of the Malevolent Triad seeking to claim the Pacific Northwest Championship just two weeks after the veteran Yuki Maeda captured it. Still, Yuki is far from a pushover... and even Selisha's pure lucha/technical prowess may not be enough to take down Yuki.

An eventful night... some changes, some incidents, you know how it is. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/539390444Youtube: youtu.be/5DISBI19O7AQuick Results Rilantha De Nav def. Mascara Avispa Pure Gold def. The Heyward Sisters Cassandra Marshall def. Michelle Rochefort Firehawk Sentarl def. Anahera The Sentarl Sisters def. Todd Colton and Natasha Clover Shiana Sentarl def. Blake Dynamite Markos Andreas def. Lance Marshall Yuki Maeda def. Selisha to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Write-ups Hot start to the night with the exact sort of match we expected from these two, with Avispa setting his sights on the skies. But Ril would eventually bring him back down to earth, and locked in a tight Anaconda Vice that scored a near-instant tapout for the victory. Although this one seemed to go on for a fair bit, it's hard to deny that Pure Gold's return was a successful one, with Mallory Spaulding doing what she does best and picking up the victory on a brutal backdrop. Despite the constant interference of Elise Pichon (and specifically, only Elise... Angel was oddly quiet tonight), Cassandra Marshall brought every bit of her raw strength to bear against Michelle Rochefort, and eventually planted the Frenchwoman with her Wheelbarrow Driver to pick up an important victory. This match turned into an all-out war mid-way, and didn't let up until the very end. Anahera threw all she had into this one, but a brainbuster from Firehawk finally put it away... though this was far from an easy win for the Phoenix. Once again, it appears that while Natasha Clover has the number of the Sentarl daughters, Kaelara still has Todd. This time around, it was Kae that won the day, managing to lock in a Dragon Sleeper and scoring the win, much to the frustration of Natasha. It can no longer be doubted that Shiana is deadly serious about this change: that she is willing to do anything to win in the ring. We witnessed some true ferocity tonight, along with some underhanded tactics that eventually carried the Queen to a victory over Blake, forcing him to submit to a Romero Special variation with a far more vicious edge. But that wasn't all... Shiana would then take the mic and continue to speak, practically belittling Laenara Kintelas all the while... She paid for it, Laenara slipping in through the crowd, delivering a crushing Cutter to the veteran, and laid out her challenge. These two will meet again in two weeks... who will come out ahead? In the span of two shows, Markos Andreas may have sent the World Championship division into chaos. A win over Firehawk Sentarl, and now, over the seeming #1 contender for the title, Lance Marshall... who is next in line to face the Dragon? Will we see another 3-way battle? One thing's for sure, Markos has exploded into relevance in the early part of 2020. Yuki Maeda and Selisha both found themselves fighting to the finish here: delivering everything in their respective arsenals, determined to be the one to take home the Pacific Northwest Championship. But it was seemingly Yuki's patience that ran out first... and a colossal chokebomb laid the Naga Queen out in a shocking display. Yuki appeared to lock eyes with Haruka Matsura after the match, but nothing happened between the two... not yet. Shiana Sentarl "Laenara Kintelas thinks she's clever... thinks she managed to pull one over on me. You struck given the opportunity you saw... and it's the last time you'll get that chance, so you'd better savor it. I will make sure that you don't get a second chance... and you'll see exactly why, soon enough. In two weeks, I'm putting this to an end. I will make sure I beat you down, and you will abandon this pursuit... the World Championship won't be yours. It's mine... and mine alone. And soon, both you and the Dragon will learn it." Markos Andreas "Some people put little behind the idea of the new year. I am usually one of them... but it's hard to deny that since this year began, I am suddenly the star of the show. I've beaten two of the best around here now... one of which claims to be the next challenger for the World Championship. And to me... that says that I should be next in line. So I will not be denied what I've now earned. I'll capture the title and gladly face either of the two women who want to step up after that... because this is my year, now. This is the moment..."

Proving Ground coming up on Monday, just two days after the Academy show for January (which I'll be posting around the same time as this card, lol.) Calista Vargas vs. Donna Nobel
Hugo Dirksen vs. Gary Gear
The Limbtakers vs. La Relampaga and Jessika Boom
Nicole Blade vs. Felice Santana
Silver Hawk vs. Avery Adonis Alexander
The Golden Ambush vs. La Familia
Akira Ryusaki vs. Kyle Anderson
Katherine White vs. Titania for the Inspire ChampionshipWe open with the Proving Ground singles debut of Calista Vargas, and it's not going to be an easy one as she takes on Donna Nobel. With Nicole Blade perhaps on a collision course with the Inspire Championship, Donna will also seek to raise her stock as a solo wrestler, but no doubt we'll be seeing the Excellent Blades back together again before long...
Hugo Dirksen seems to be just on the brink of success as of late: with some major victories, but not quite the full package, he'll take on Gary Gear and look to topple the big man... because it may not matter how big Gear's arms really are.
The Limbtakers continue to fight their way back up the ranks... looking for a return match against the Golden Ambush for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships. Standing in their way are two talented high-fliers... with Relampaga's usual partner, Layla Al-Amin, now on Showdown, she's brought Jessika Boom into the fold... and things could get wild here.
Nicole Blade looks determined to cut a path of destruction through the entire Inspire division... fresh off of crushing former champion Reina del Tigre, she now sets her sights on an opponent she hadn't anticipated: Felice Santana. With Felice scoring a major upset over SATOMI last week, can she keep that momentum going, or will Nicole continue her rampage?
It's two of the best raw talents around: Silver Hawk, a premiere high-flyer here in Proving Ground, against Avery Alexander, the all-rounder. Could this lead to yet another showdown between the Muscle Machines and the Avian Assassins? Time will tell...
The Golden Ambush's momentum is running hotter than ever, with the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships around their waists... and La Familia will seek to be the ones to bring it to a halt. Rey and Chico have been a dangerous team thus far in Proving Ground, and could be the toughest test of the Ambush's reign thus far.
Akira Ryusaki has his sights set on one thing: the top prize in Proving Ground, the Top Prospect Championship. But Kyle Anderson has looked nigh-invincible the past few weeks... the champion is set for another challenger to come his way, and Kyle looks determined to strike another one down.
Set up last week after Katherine White won the 8-woman battle royal, Titania showed nothing but contempt for her challenger... laying Katherine out with an Axe Bomber and guaranteeing that she'll walk out with the Inspire Championship still around her waist. Still, Katherine is well-known by now as someone that should not be underestimated... but can she even hope to overcome the raw power of Titania?

A brisk show tonight that gave way to a little extra unexpected bonus. Cause when things move THAT quickly... hell, why not? Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/543000341Youtube: youtu.be/n-wOA_rEy6EQuick Results Calista Vargas def. Donna Nobel Gary Gear def. Hugo Dirksen The Limbtakers def. La Relampaga and Jessika Boom Nicole Blade def. Felice Santana Avery Adonis Alexander def. Silver Hawk The Golden Ambush def. La Familia Akira Ryusaki def. Kyle Anderson Titania def. Katherine White to retain the Inspire Championship BONUS MATCH: SATOMI def. Leona Sterling Write-ups A hell of a singles debut for Calista here, outpacing Donna Nobel in a hurry and seizing a big victory off of a Tornado DDT. The young Brazilian may have a bright future here in Proving Ground if this is any indication. Hugo just couldn't get a foothold here, and Gary Gear overpowered him, delivering multiple vicious bombs en route to a dominant victory. The Muscle Machines are looking good as 2020 rolls along. Once again, the Limbtakers rise to another challenge. The speedy team of Relampaga and Jessika were ultimately grounded by the quick and brutal styles of the Limbtakers, and Candace locked in a brutal leglock to take home the victory as the Limbtakers continue to seek their rematch with the Golden Ambush. Nicole Blade looked to be having some trouble putting the always-game Felice Santana away here: a fierce brawl on the outside, and some serious pressure in the ring, led up to Nicole thinking fast and countering a rana with a vicious powerbomb, managing to pick up the win... and almost certainly setting her up to be the next contender for the Inspire Championship. Silver Hawk showed a lot of spirit in this match, but AAA would not be denied the win, after hitting More Muscular multiple times and eventually dropping Hawk with a hard lariat. A truly hard-fought battle between La Familia and the Proving Ground Tag Team Champions, but the Ambush once again proved that they may very well be the most dangerous team Proving Ground's known since Pure Gold, with multiple Tigerdrivers landing en route to Tigress locking up a firm submission for the victory. For the first time since before New Year's Bash, Kyle Anderson runs into a roadblock. Akira Ryusaki weathered some of Kyle's more brutal attacks, and nailed a quick Slingblade to pick up the surprising victory. Can Akira topple the Baltimore Savage, Five Star Kyle, and capture the Top Prospect Championship so soon? Give Katherine credit here, she did make this one tough... but Titania was not to be denied tonight, not with her championship at stake. Despite Katherine throwing nearly everything she had at the champion, it ended exactly how Titania said it would... a vicious Axe Bomber giving her the victory. Thanks to tonight's show moving so damn quickly, I made the rare decision of putting on an extra match. And good lord, what a match it turned out to be. Rarely does a Proving Ground go by without the presence of SATOMI, and this match reminded everyone why: she's easily one of the best around. But make no mistake, even in defeat this was an incredible showcase for Leona Sterling, who pushed SATOMI to the absolute limit before falling victim to a SATOMI Driver. One can only imagine the trouble these two could cause in Proving Ground going forward... Titania "So, the 'Strongest Woman in Proving Ground' finally fights her way back to the top. You've wanted this match for a while, haven't you? Nicole Blade wants to take a shot at the champ. Lucky you, already having a partner to back you up, as well... see, I already know Erica Tracy's plan for Proving Ground #50, and the fact that you're gonna wait a little longer to get your shot at this title. A tag match... partners of our choosing, and of course you're gonna roll with Donna Nobel. Me... I don't typically play nice with other people. But there's one person... just one, around here, that I think I could respect. But I can tell you right now... you're gonna have to wait for the night of. I'm not giving you a single hint towards who might be the one at my side... but Nicole? It doesn't really matter, in the long run. One-on-one, partners by our sides, the whole world divided between us... it doesn't matter. Because at the end of the day, I'll be Inspire Champion... and you won't."

Can you believe how close we are to the 50th episode for both shows? Jeesh. Blake Dynamite vs. Mascara Avispa
The Rising Storm vs. Todd Colton and Natasha Clover
Haruka Matsura vs. Eri Sentarl
Rilantha De Nav vs. Kileas Kintelas
Fenix Oscuro vs. Angel Leblanc
The Wild West vs. Markos Andreas and Alexandria Kirison
Telan Kintelas vs. Yuki Maeda for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Shiana Sentarl vs. Laenara Kintelas The night kicks off in a big way: guaranteed, five-star gold, as two of the best juniors in the world square off. What more can you say about a match between Blake and Avispa? Their reputations speak for themselves... this one could be an early MOTY candidate if they take it to the highest level. It's the premiere tag team in Phoenix Rising... but not if you ask Todd Colton, who will insist that the Rising Storm can no longer make that claim now that he's here on Showdown alongside Natasha Clover. Still, it's a bold claim... and the Rising Storm are nothing short of the most decorated team Phoenix Rising's ever seen. Eri Sentarl has been in the midst of a brutal slump as of late, and it could be made worse as the Malevolent Triad's attention seems to be swinging back in her direction. Still, the Triad seems to be dividing their attention, as well... with Haruka sent after Eri, Oscuro facing Angel later in the night, and Selisha currently out of action, could this be Eri's opportunity to splinter their ranks even further? Two of Phoenix Rising's most enduring names square off once again. Rilantha De Nav is on a hot streak, a potential career resurgence after months of being quiet... but standing in her way here is the Alpha Villain, as Kileas Kintelas also aims to set his sights on returning to the top. Only one of them can truly get what they're after, though... After last month's New Year's Bash, we haven't seen even a glimpse of Fenix Oscuro. That changes this week, as the dangerous luchadora makes her return seeking vengeance for the Triad's defeat at the hands of Les Beautes Blondes... and she's gone straight for the head of the group in Angel Leblanc. A stunning victory over Lance Marshall last week by Markos Andreas has sent the whole World Championship scene into disarray. With Lance being the clear favorite to face the Black Dragon next, Markos has thrown it into question... and now, their respective tag partners will step in to try and help settle the situation. This looks awfully familiar... once again Telan Kintelas seeks the Pacific Northwest Championship, and once again, he finds himself squaring off with Yuki Maeda, who thus far has held him off. Could this finally be Telan's shot at redemption? Can he finally claim the gold he's been after for so long? There's nothing left to decide but a winner. We've known this match would happen sooner or later, and the day's finally arrived: Laenara Kintelas takes on Shiana Sentarl, with a shot at the Dragon on the line. The two have taken shots at each other since the aftermath of New Year's Bash: a superkick out of the blue from Shiana signalling a new attitude from the veteran, answered by a vicious jumping cutter from Lae last week in an ambush. Who will settle the score? Whose future shines the brightest? And how will Laenara's ambush be answered?

Tonight saw a lot of trouble rear its head... things might be getting ugly in Showdown. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/546575326Youtube: youtu.be/HSXvNoTk8g8Quick Results Blake Dynamite def. Mascara Avispa Todd Colton and Natasha Clover def. The Rising Storm Eri Sentarl def. Haruka Matsura Kileas Kintelas def. Rilantha De Nav Fenix Oscuro def. Angel Leblanc The Wild West def. Markos Andreas and Alexandria Kirison Yuki Maeda def. Telan Kintelas to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Shiana Sentarl def. Laenara Kintelas Write-ups A hot opener to the night, these two bringing their best straight out of the gate as expected. It was fast-paced, but it was Blake's Lotation that won the day, kicking off the night with likely the best match of the show. Despite a... less than agreeable Natasha (likely in protest of Todd trying to get her to match him), they nevertheless pulled off a major victory here, with Todd out-wrestling Xiu Mei Li and forcing the Chinese star to submit to his double-armbar. Still, we may not expect to see Natasha in that pink getup again anytime soon... no matter how "lucky" it might be. Eri's losing streak finally comes to an end against Haruka, executing her usual plan to perfection despite Haruka getting her shots in. The Phoenix Splash once again carries the Little Phoenix to a big win. No hesitation from the Alpha Villain, as he brought the fight to Ril from the bell. A number of submissions came out in this one, but Kileas fell back on the old standby: the Shotgun stunner finished the job and gave Kileas the victory he needed. The Dark Phoenix is back... new look, same old dangerous Oscuro. Frustration seemed to boil over at the end of the match, Oscuro going on a vicious string of offense that culminated in two 450 Splashes to finish the job, finally giving the Malevolent Triad a measure of revenge over Les Beautes Blondes. Things seem to be getting more and more personal with Lance and Markos. A brawl on the outside broke out during this one, between the two, and Lance never seemed to let up, eventually forcing Markos to quit after a vicious Torture Rack. Suffice to say, this may not be over between the two... and Lance may defer his shot at the Dragon to continue dealing with Markos. Yuki Maeda might be one of the older members of the Phoenix Rising roster, but you wouldn't believe it by this match. She was absolutely dominant, destructive, absolutely wiping out Telan with a series of brutal piledrivers and eventually cranking on the familiar leglock to put the match away, and retain the Pacific Northwest Championship in her second defense. The Queen of Phoenix Rising continues to prove she's every bit as capable as she's ever been: with Laenara trying to keep her down, Shiana fell back and leveled the rising star with a Superkick, picking up the win and an incoming title shot against the Black Dragon. But the night didn't end there... Pure Gold made their way to the ring shortly after the bell rang, Shiana slipping out to observe... and the duo laid waste to an already-battered Laenara, before Shiana rejoined them in the ring. Pure Gold have apparently been brought on as Shiana's personal bodyguards... but make no mistake, she wouldn't have them do all of the work themselves, as she waved the team off, laying her rival out with a brutal chairshot before following it with a piledriver on the same chair. Gone is the familiar heroine, the matriarch of the Sentarl family. That's never been clearer than it was tonight. But one thing's for sure: after her taunts and threats towards the SFG, Urani and Dragon will surely be returning to Showdown in two weeks... seeking brutal, absolute vengeance for Laenara. Urani Whitemist We don't see the Titan on-camera... or anything, really. But we do hear her voice. "For as long as I can remember, Shiana Sentarl's name has stood for something. Twenty-five years, fighting her way up from the very bottom to become one of the most beloved wrestlers in the Northwest. Twenty-five years... and in the span of a month, you've taken that reputation and shattered it. All for the sake of proving something that no one ever held in question.
What you've done tonight... I will not forgive until I have seen you in the ring myself. And make no mistake, Shiana... Pure Gold. We are returning in two weeks. And if you are not afraid... you will be.
The Titan walks among you once again. And I will not be merciful. Not anymore." The Black Dragon Much like Urani, the Dragon doesn't appear on-screen... though she does come into the frame, standing in the shadows, making it difficult to make out her silhouette. "You know what you've done, Shiana? You realize what you wound up doing by going full-on, psychotic villain?" She goes quiet for a few moments... steps forward just enough to bring herself into the light, enough to see her masked face... the design unmistakably hers, but somehow... different. "When you and I face off, you're making me the hero. You're guaranteeing that I'm the so-called 'good guy'. And don't you ever forget this: I don't give a shit about this whole good and evil thing. I don't care what people think about who I am, I don't care if they cheer, if they boo, if they love everything I do, if they hate my fucking guts for being the single most dominant champion alive today.
You set out to brutalize one of the only friends I've got around here. You hired on a couple of Proving Ground rejects to be your hired muscle. You keep calling yourself the 'Queen of Phoenix Rising', but let me remind you: I'm the World Champion. I've BEEN the World Champion for FIFTEEN MONTHS, now. And if anyone's got a claim to call themselves a 'Queen', it'd be me.
But screw that. I'm the Dragon. I'm the champion. I'm the most unstoppable goddamn force in the world today. You want to try and take this title from me so badly, you're welcome to try. But just remember how many people have tried, one-on-one, to take me down. Just remember how many I've wiped out over those fifteen months. You think I'm gonna let our history get in the way? I'm gonna treat you like I have every single other challenger. Another obstacle to push my way through.
You and I have been at this for a long, long time, Shiana... but if there's one thing you'll never be, it's better than me. I'll wipe out anyone and everyone that you bring out. And then, I'll come for you.
Then we'll see how much of a 'Queen' you are when you're driven face-first into the mat."

So, full admission, I've been running a little behind schedule this week for a few reasons, but here's Evergreen for tomorrow. Penelope Lea vs. Iris Coleman
Julian Shepard and the Phantom Thief vs. The Sheridan Brothers
Concrete Pete vs. Eddy Introspect
Skidmark vs. ???
Babe Ruthless vs. Ash Defiant
The Demons vs. El Verde
Mercy Devine vs. Luci
Kevin Royce vs. Elly Blackwood, #1 Contender's MatchIris Coleman has now been inducted into the land of hardcore: and her tests clearly aren't over, as she now squares off with eMo's Penelope Lea, looking to make a proper impact in her second match of her young Evergreen career. But with Penelope being one-half of the Evergreen Tag Team Champions, it may be an uphill battle for the Wrecking Ball.
It's been a pleasant surprise seeing Julian and the Thief teaming up and finding some success together... enough that they may be intent on making a run for the Evergreen Tag Team Championships. But the Sheridan Brothers remain a thorn in the side of the division, no matter what their record might look like...
Eddy Introspect is not to be overlooked. He's proved that time and again here in Evergreen, and even the colossal bulk and power of Concrete Pete won't make this an easy matchup. Pete will need to be cautious here: Eddy's perhaps Evergreen's master of the comeback, when he doesn't outright crush his opponents.
Mercy Devine appears to have something in mind this week: setting up a mystery opponent for the big, bad man that is Skidmark. But who exactly will be his opponent? And what can we possibly expect?
We're off and running with another face-off between these two... it always does seem inevitable that Ash Defiant and Babe Ruthless will butt heads sooner or later, and it would seem we're due for another one. No doubt this one has a shot at stealing the show, knowing how well these two play off each other.
El Verde, crowd favorites: but that alone isn't enough to take down the terrifying force that is the Tasharun/Kantar duo. Verde and Evergringo will have their hands full with the Demons here... expect this one to turn ugly in a hurry.
Mercy Devine had fully intended to take her shot at the Evergreen Championship as soon as possible... but Strawberry Sookie holds all the cards, even if Mercy is the boss. She's issued an ultimatum: Mercy will need to fight her way through the rest of eMo, and that starts here against Luci, in her first match back since being injured. It's hard to tell what's on Mercy's mind... she could easily force the matter, but perhaps she revels in this competition.
This is an apocalyptic matchup the likes of which even Masa Tokugawa would surely watch with amazement: these two have been simmering for weeks, now, building their reputations as the best of the best, until finally, they prepare to meet head-to-head to determine who really deserves the next shot at the Evergreen Championship. On one side: the undefeated, the Invincible, Elly Blackwood. On the other: the Northwest's King of Hardcore, the founder, the living legend, Kevin Royce. This match could easily determine the future of Evergreen for the rest of 2020.

Maybe one of the best Evergreens in a long time. Hoo boy. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/548063947Youtube: youtu.be/LmbCPfMfXAIQuick Results Iris Coleman def. Penelope Lea The Sheridan Brothers def. Julian Shepard and the Phantom Thief Concrete Pete def. Eddy Introspect Argent (!) def. Skidmark Babe Ruthless def. Ash Defiant El Verde def. The Demons Mercy Devine def. Luci Kevin Royce def. Elly Blackwood Write-ups After dropping her debut match to Babe Ruthless, Iris bounced back and went to war with Penelope Lea, scoring a big-time STO en route to her first post-Academy victory. The Wrecking Ball may find herself a big part of Evergreen's future. Strong showing from both sides, but the Sheridans likely took this one through their superior teamwork and having been an established team for much longer. Tough one for Julian and the Thief, but there's a lot to see in these two going forward, even after this one. The big man did what he tends to do... but in a bit of a wilder fashion, seeing Pete going up top multiple times to crush Eddy with sheer bulk. Maybe one of the more insane matches tonight... Eddy endured a lot, but that much weight coming down from that height... There was a bit of speculation on who would face Skidmark here... but it was none other than ARGENT who made his Evergreen debut, with a new look and a seemingly far more dangerous repertoire. Skidmark didn't go quietly, but one thing certainly hasn't changed: Quicksilver is still one of the most devastating finishers in the entire Phoenix Rising continuum. Everyone anticipated this as being one of the highlights of the night, and they did not disappoint. Babe threw seemingly everything in her arsenal at Ash, and Ash returned the favor... but finally, Babe was able to lock in her full nelson clutch submission to force the tapout victory, capping off one of the best matches of the show. This was simply a stunning result. El Verde, perhaps overlooked, scored one of the most incredible upsets of the past year: perhaps second only to eMo pulling off the same feat. Does this mean we'll be seeing El Verde taking on eMo for the Evergreen Tag Team Championships soon? It's hard to deny... Mercy didn't seem particularly in the mood to deal with this: Sookie wants to force her through the rest of eMo, and perhaps she'll oblige, starting tonight with Luci and taking care of business as only Mercy can. Like so many others, she pulled off the win with her Dragon Sleeper, fans steadily beginning to refer to the move as the "Pit of Darkness"... who knows what Mercy thinks of that name, but a victory tonight might make her agree to it. The last time Elly Blackwood lost a match was before she ever arrived in Evergreen: and it was at the hands of this very same opponent. She gained her revenge not long after arriving here, but there is still some clear bad blood between these two... and it's likely to only intensify after this result, after a vicious war resulted in Kevin Royce locking in an Iron Claw and leaving Elly down in defeat for the first time since she came to Evergreen. This feud surely isn't over yet... Mercy Devine "Y'know, I'm hearing that Little Miss Sookie is awfully pissed off about the way things went tonight. Y'know what? Good. It means I'm doing my job right. I want to get you all kinds of riled up ahead of facing you, because the more I piss you off, the more you're gonna come in and make mistakes. Mistakes that are gonna make me the Evergreen Champion when the dust settles. Don't worry... Luci's gonna be fine, this time. I didn't feel like putting her on the shelf again, you've had enough of that shit lately... but I'm not gonna be so even-handed with the others, or you.
Oh, and congratulations, Kevin. About time you got off your ass and won a big-boy match for once. Once I win that title and see you in the ring, I'm gonna do exactly what I did last time and beat the absolute bloody daylights out of you. And I won't even need Blackrose to do it this time."

We've got Proving Ground coming up on Monday... episode 50! Amazing. La Corsaria vs. Calista Vargas
Kellaron Sentarl vs. Pajaro de Fuego Ruthless Nicole Alger vs. Reina del Tigre Akira and Rin Ryusaki vs. Kyle Anderson and Leona Sterling Sung Moon vs. SATOMI Victor Kintelas vs. Silver Hawk Candace Monroe vs. Golden Tigress The Excellent Blades vs. Titania and Christina WagnerWe kick off this week with a match that's got all the potential in the world to be a wild, high-flying affair. Two of the brightest young rookies straight from the Academy square off, with Calista Vargas aiming to keep her momentum hot against the always-dangerous La Corsaria. It's hard to tell how this one might turn out...
It would appear we've got the GOAT taking on the Avian Assassins this week (and surely, next Proving Ground as well, if history is to be believed), with Kellaron Sentarl taking the first shot as he takes on Pajaro de Fuego. A matchup of fast-paced lucha against a more methodical technical style: it'll be interesting to see how this one plays out.
The Limbtakers are looking primed to take on the Golden Ambush in a rematch for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships... and Ruthless Nicole Alger is out to prove something this week, without a doubt. With Golden Tiger taking the week off, Reina del Tigre will take his spot against RNA, and will look to bounce back from a rough few weeks since losing the Inspire Championship.
Last week, Akira Ryusaki scored a major victory over Top Prospect Kyle Anderson. Now we'll see them face off again... with their partner of choice in tag action. Akira made the obvious decision to team up with his sister, Rin... and that left Kyle thinking about his options, eventually settling on a familiar face: Leona Sterling. This seems like a team tailor-made for just such an occasion...
Sung Moon appears to have her sights set high, as she's challenged one of Proving Ground's best in SATOMI. But can the young Korean stand up to someone who's been one of the most dangerous women not only on Proving Ground, but the entirety of Phoenix Rising? SATOMI has built a reputation... and Moon may find herself with that realization after this match.
Silver Hawk might have the uphill battle out of the GOAT/Avian Assassins face-off this week, taking on former Top Prospect Victor Kintelas. Still, you can never count him out of any match: Silver Hawk has been one of Proving Ground's most popular names for a long time, and he's picked up plenty of impressive victories on his own. Even faced with Victor, one of the best all-rounders in the fed, Silver Hawk won't back down from the challenge.
Candace Monroe is clearly after one very important thing: the Proving Ground Tag Team Championships that the Golden Ambush have taken from the Limbtakers. She'll set her sights on Golden Tigress, and will look to score a major victory ahead of their rematch for the titles... but Tigress has looked beyond dangerous as of late, and the Ambush seems prepared to defend their titles with everything they've got.
Our main event this week could be one of the most colossal face-offs in Proving Ground's history. Titania's next challenger for the Inspire Championship is none other than Nicole Blade... and knowing that Nicole is rarely without her Excellent Blades tag partner, Donna Nobel, Titania required a partner of her own. Given her usual history, though, Titania struggled for a little while to find the right person... until Christina Wagner offered her services to the champion. Now we find ourselves with an absolutely terrifying prospect: one of the most intimidating tag team matches in recent memory. Will the established team conquer the champion, or will Titania's and Christina's might overwhelm the Blades?

Proving Ground is steadily becoming the must-watch show of the organization, at this point. Talk about an intense show. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/550202523Youtube: youtu.be/Q-hT2DPtk8EQuick Results Calista Vargas def. La Corsaria Kellaron Sentarl def. Pajaro de Fuego Reina del Tigre def. Ruthless Nicole Alger Kyle Anderson and Leona Sterling def. Akira and Rin Ryusaki SATOMI def. Sung Moon Victor Kintelas def. Silver Hawk Golden Tigress def. Candace Monroe Titania and Christina Wagner def. The Excellent Blades Bonus Match: Andrea "Fire" Hawke def. Kiana Yamazaki Write-ups Every bit the hot opener we expected it to be, with Calista keeping pace with the dangerous Scottish pirate, and finishing off as she so often has, with a running crossbody to pick up the win. The first half of a good night for the GOAT, as Kellaron worked over Pajaro de Fuego en route to scoring a vicious Crossface submission victory. We could be seeing a resurgence of Kellaron and Victor out of nowhere... Reina del Tigre pulled herself out of a slump tonight, taking the fight to RNA and enduring everything that she had to throw out, fighting through multiple Ruthless Armrippers and landing a Tigerdriver to pick up an important win. Do the Limbtakers have what it takes to regain the titles from the Golden Ambush at this point? We may have seen the start of something truly dangerous tonight, as Kyle and Leona were dynamic and cooperative tonight, working in tandem to take Akira and Rin down without seemingly much trouble in the end. While Kyle put down Akira, Leona laid out Rin with a series of strikes, then made the cover on the legal man (Akira) to pick up perhaps the greatest example of teamwork of the night. Sung Moon showed a lot of heart tonight, but SATOMI simply wouldn't let up for a second, cranking on a number of vicious submission holds and strikes before finally trapping a bloodied Moon into a triangle choke to finish the job. There's still no denying that Victor Kintelas is still one of Proving Ground's standout talents. He definitely showed it against one of the best of the best in Silver Hawk, pushing through all that the luchador had to offer before landing a crushing spear, scoring the sweep for the GOAT on the night. Golden Tigress might've just made a name for herself with this match. Not only did she refuse to give in to Candace's submission game (even as she was seen writhing in pain as Candace systematically took out her legs), she came roaring back with a Tigerdriver, and knocked the young Australian out cold, shutting out the Limbtakers ahead of their tag title rematch... it's expected that Candace won't miss the title match, but she'll be monitored in the two weeks before then to make sure there's no lingering injury. This was one hell of a way to cap off the main card. It didn't matter who was in the ring: the action was hard-hitting and brutal from bell-to-bell, but it was Christina Wagner that scored the decisive victory, taking down Donna Nobel with a huge diving knee drop to score the win. It didn't end there, though, as while Donna and Christina retreated to the back, Nicole and Titania continued to brawl... right up until General Manager Erica Tracy appeared to try and restore order. Nicole fired back at the GM with a threat towards both her and Titania... only for the champion to reach her feet again, leveling Nicole with a huge right hand, and making a few threats of her own. Without a doubt, this match will be one of the biggest Proving Ground's seen in a long time... We got a little bit of bonus action this week as well, as Andrea Hawke made a rare appearance to introduce a familiar face: but this was not Mercy Devine, at least, not as we know her, but Kiana Yamazaki, an alternate counterpart to Evergreen's boss. One thing's for certain, Kiana isn't much like Mercy, with some serious technical ability and agility, and although she fell to Andrea's powerful lariat, she made quite the impact in her debut match.

Showdown this week is going to be... well, intense, if all goes as I think it's gonna go... Michelle Rochefort vs. Kaelara Sentarl
Firehawk Sentarl vs. Rilantha De Nav
The Heyward Sisters vs. The Rising Storm
Eri Sentarl vs. Sophia Moretti
Blake Dynamite vs. Markos Andreas
Yuki Maeda vs. Cassandra Marshall for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Todd Colton vs. Senator Phillips (Another stop on the Senator Retirement Tour)
Shiana Sentarl and Pure Gold vs. The SFG
We kick things off this week as Kaelara Sentarl looks to find new momentum, gearing up to face a dangerous opponent in Michelle Rochefort of Les Beautes Blondes. Kaelara's had a rough time of it lately, but there's always the chance that she'll suddenly go on a run... knowing how talented she is, this could be the night. Former tag partners, now squaring off to raise their stock in the World Championship division, Firehawk and Ril will meet as opponents for the first time in quite a while, as two of the best all-rounders in Phoenix Rising look to get back towards the top of the division. The Rising Storm stumbled last week, dropping their match against Todd Colton and Natasha Clover, but this week they'll be out to recover as they take on the Heyward Sisters... but the Storm can't look past them, knowing how good Listalva and Anari are at turning the tables on any given opponent. Eri Sentarl finally broke a frustrating losing streak last week by defeating Haruka Matsura, and this week, she'll aim to keep her momentum going as she takes on someone who's been a quiet rival of hers almost from day one: Sophia Moretti, the Italian Monster, looking to break through Eri's stubborn refusal to tap out to just about anything. Sophia, though, remains one of the more dangerous women in Phoenix Rising, and Eri may face an uphill battle... Markos Andreas has been making a name for himself since the day he arrived, and now he finds himself against an opponent that's capable of scoring a win over just about anyone in the world today: Blake Dynamite is the premiere high-flyer of Phoenix Rising's homegrown talents, and definitely has a history, but Markos will be looking to send him crashing back down. With Todd Colton accepting the match with Senator Phillips this week, he's delayed his shot at the Pacific Northwest Championship... and so, the next in line after him, Cassandra Marshall, will face off with champion Yuki Maeda instead. The winner here will face Todd at Showdown #51... but it's entirely possible that Yuki doesn't care, having shown incredible dominance over the past few matches since winning the title. Meanwhile, Todd Colton indeed will face the veteran Senator, in what could potentially be a show-stealing match... knowing Todd's raw talent, and Senator's veteran skill, this could be a surprising one. Todd had quite a few words to say ahead of this one, both in preparation for this match and the fallout from this weekend's Aroo Classic finals. This seemed inevitable, given all that's happened the past few weeks: with Shiana Sentarl's betrayal of everything she's ever stood for, and her vendetta against Laenara Kintelas, things came to a head last week when she brought in none other than Pure Gold to become her hired muscle: and a three-on-one against Laenara left the rising star bloodied, beaten, and frustrated. But Laenara has partners of her own... two of the most dangerous walking the earth today. This trios match will see the return of the Titan, Urani Whitemist, and the World Champion, the Black Dragon... and don't expect either to simply appear as they've been in the past. After a month and a half away from a Phoenix Rising ring, both have been refreshed, revitalized... and ready to step in to support Laenara. Todd Colton "OK, look. I know you're asking me about Senator Phillips right now, but lemme start somewhere a little different. You wanna tell me where you keep digging these people up? You mind telling me how many more people are gonna crawl out of the woodwork lookin' for some? The damn moment I'm finally back on the same roster as Natasha, EVERYONE comes around looking for a bit of what I got! Do I really got that kinda appeal? I mean, shit, of course I do, but sorry to say, I'm off the damn market and have been for a good while, so I sure as hell won't be coming to you anytime soon, no matter who you THINK you are.
RIGHT! Senator Steve friggin' Phillips. Whole world knows exactly why I got the nod to face him, the last time he's likely to come through Phoenix Rising. Course, last time he mixed it up with one of our guys... well, THE guy some would say, not that Firehawk's meant a whole lot from day one... he about got wiped the hell out. See, contrary to what that tournament might suggest, I don't go around dishing out that kinda punishment unless someone damn well deserves to take it... and y'know, the good Senator ain't quite that.
Hell, I know what everyone's expecting to hear. 'I'm gonna go out there and beat up this retiring jackass, who gives a shit, blah blah y'know what I'm talking about.' But here's the thing: what the hell reason do I have to shit on the guy?
... I'll give you a damn good reason, because Showdown, right here, this is MY stompin' grounds, this is MY show, and retiring or not... I'm the single best talent in all of Phoenix Rising, there is no one, I MEAN NO ONE, with my technical ability and skill at rippin' arms out of sockets, and lemme remind you: I'm delaying a friggin' TITLE SHOT to take this match, so don't you ever forget: at the end of the night, I'm the one that's gonna be standin' tall, I'm the one that's gonna pick up the big-time win, I'M THE ONE that's gonna be the biggest winner of the night... And it really doesn't matter who else wins tonight, 'cause whoever's got that Pacific Northwest Championship around their waists, you're MINE, and so's that title.
And seriously, people, quit fuckin' makin' moves on me, or me rippin' your arm off will be the least of your fuckin' worries, 'cause god knows Natasha's probably gonna get a piece of ya' too."

Some words from Senator Steve Phillips concerning the Todd Colton match, taken from his recent interview for the Office: Senator Steve Phillips: And that brings me to tonight. For as I face Todd Colton, I harbor no excuses! All wrestlers are no stranger to fighting through injuries and pain. I am certain that there are issues he will also be dealing with, and ignoring. But what I will not ignore is that Todd Colton is on the precipice of cementing himself as a top level competitor within Phoenix Rising. And it is a prime opportunity for him to solidify his status in earning a victory over yours truly upon my way out. I hope to see him stand on top of his organization one day, having realized his full potential.
Senator: But that day will not be today, if I have anything to say or do about it. You speak of delayed opportunities, Mr. Colton, and I truly hope you may someday find the chance to equal your words with your deeds, to be like Muhammad Ali, rather than Adrien Broner. If there is something you may gain from this match, may it be the temporary humility of having discovered that there is yet much you have to learn, that there is still work to be done before you become all that you know that you can be. Talk all that you may, I would be the last man on the planet to tell you otherwise. But never buy into your own hype, for that is when you fall short.

A word from the desk of Senator Steve Phillips Senator Steve Phillips: A fine match, a fine match, indeed. For once, Mr. Doolittle and I see eye to eye, for that match certainly felt like a true classic in the making as I was in the midst of it. While my arm was raised in the end, Todd Colton should have absolutely no shame in his own performance. He escaped submissions that few others would have, kicked out of everything I had to offer and quite honestly, had thrashed me bad enough by the end of the match that it was merely by the slimmest of odds that I somehow managed to escape victorious. The reflexes honed in a two decade career and in my Judo training that preceded it kicked in when I was on the precipice of defeat, but nineteen out of twenty times, Mr. Colton follows through and wins in that situation.
Senator: I have the utmost confidence that based off what I have experienced in this match, that, barring catastrophe or the triumph of an overgrown ego, that Mr. Colton will again demonstrate the superlative skill that I experienced tonight, but in the future, you will see him follow through, one hundred percent of the match, and when that happens, Phoenix Rising will rue the day, for you will never, ever hear the end of it, and that, my friends, is nothing...but the truth.

Hell of a show tonight, carried by some absolutely fantastic matchups. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/553823652Youtube: youtu.be/y0Z7xGT4-l4Quick Results Michelle Rochefort def. Kaelara Sentarl Firehawk Sentarl def. Rilantha De Nav The Heyward Sisters def. The Rising Storm Eri Sentarl def. Sophia Moretti Markos Andreas def. Blake Dynamite Cassandra Marshall def. Yuki Maeda to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion Senator Phillips def. Todd Colton Shiana Sentarl and Pure Gold def. The SFG Write-ups Kaelara continues to struggle, unable to find her footing in this matchup as Michelle picked her apart, focusing an unusual amount of effort on working Kae's legs before eventually landing a vicious kick out of the corner to finish the job. Despite a tremendous effort by Ril, she wasn't quite able to overcome Firehawk here, although she very nearly took it on a few occasions before Firehawk landed a sharp brainbuster to take the victory, as if to remind the crowd that he's definitely still a threat. The Heyward sisters are steadily becoming quite the team to watch: another major victory here, over one of the best teams in Phoenix Rising, could set them up with a bright future. While it was far from a dominant performance, with the Storm holding out for quite some time, nevertheless this might've been Lis's finest moment on Showdown... The rekindling of an old rivalry saw Eri continue to bounce back from what had been an extended losing streak, striking down Sophia Moretti as she once again showed that stubbornness that saw her through so many other matches with the Italian. A relentless offense from the Little Phoenix gave her the victory, and she may finally find herself back on track after this one... Markos Andreas suddenly looks like the future of Phoenix Rising. With some landmark victories as of late, he's proven he's capable of taking on the best of the best... and after throwing Blake Dynamite around the ring almost effortlessly, is there a chance he could step into the ring with a chance at the World Championship before long? This almost seemed like a message. Cassandra Marshall looked like she might've been in trouble in this one: scoring some blows, but taking quite a lot of punishment from the champion. But a brutal Wheelbarrow Driver put an end to that in a hurry, crushing Yuki Maeda and leaving the veteran sprawled out. Cassandra becomes the new Pacific Northwest Champion... and now has to face off with Todd Colton in two weeks to defend it. This was easily the highlight of the night. An absolute war between the retiring Senator and the rising star, Todd Colton... and neither disappointed for a second here, both throwing nearly everything they had into one of the most intense matches in recent memory. Just as it seemed like Todd had the night won, however, Senator's instincts kicked in... pulling him into a scissors-sleeper hold, and scoring a stunning victory, just barely slipping past Todd in what could go down as an early Match of the Year candidate. Showing no fear of the reinvention of Urani and the Black Dragon, Shiana and her bodyguards, Pure Gold, took the fight straight to the SFG, and met them blow-for-blow... but it was none other than Kanjirin Tonorian who struck the final blow, flying off the top rope with a crushing, big-man splash, taking Urani out for the victory... though despite this, Laenara struck a blow of her own in retaliation even as the bell rang, landing a vicious Kintelas Driver on Shiana, leading to a bit of a staredown as the show closed... although Shiana's gotten the upper hand twice in a row over Laenara, it's clear that their issues haven't been settled, and after Shiana's had her shot at the Dragon, they're sure to meet again...

It's Evergreen this Thursday, and there's a lot coming up. Iris Coleman vs. LuciThe Demons vs. Julian Shepard and the Phantom ThiefAsh Defiant vs. Eternamente VerdeElly Blackwood vs. Sayaka SaitoArgent vs. Concrete PeteOakland's Most Metal (Veronika and Rebecca) vs. The Sheridan BrothersKevin Royce vs. El EvergringoMercy Devine vs. Penelope Lea Iris picked up her first win last episode, taking down Penelope Lea in impressive fashion. Now she squares off with another member of eMo in Luci, as she aims to keep her momentum going, looking to make a name for herself in Evergreen. But no doubt eMo will be looking for some form of revenge tonight, after suffering three separate defeats last time out...
The Demons were completely stunned by El Verde in their last match, and now, they'll aim to try and bounce back against a quickly-rising duo in Julian and the Thief. This also has the side effect of continuing the Thief's personal vendetta against Tasharun... but can they really handle the former tag team champions?
Fresh off a stunning tag team victory over the Demons, Eternamente Verde continues to aim high as she squares off with Ash Defiant. The former Evergreen Champion may be primed to make her return to the top, but Ash isn't likely to make things easy...
Elly Blackwood suffered the first defeat of her Evergreen career last episode, taken down by Kevin Royce, who's quickly become her most hated rival. She'll look to bounce back, taking on Sayaka Saito, her intention being to prove that regardless of the setback, she is still The Invincible, and still the most dominant force in Evergreen.
Argent made a surprising return last time out as he took down Skidmark... and now, he's got Concrete Pete to deal with. No doubt Argent will aim to handle the other big man of Evergreen the same way he handled Skidmark... and then, set his sights on more familiar targets.
The Sheridan Brothers have had their struggles, but they may finally be back on track after a win over Julian and the Thief... but with Veronika Armstrong and Rebecca Andrews on the horizon, how long can that last? It's been a long struggle for the band, but against the Sheridans, things could certainly turn around in a hurry...
Kevin Royce follows up his ending of Elly's undefeated streak by squaring off with a massive fan favorite... El Evergringo has one thing in mind, stopping the momentum of the hardcore veteran. But Kevin has looked nigh-unstoppable for some time, now... and fresh off the biggest win yet, how can Evergringo hope to overcome him?
Mercy Devine's path through eMo continues as she takes on Penelope Lea, intent on wiping her out as she prepares to take on Strawberry Sookie for the Evergreen Championship. There's no telling how this may go... with eMo perhaps finding a sudden struggle as of late, it could be the perfect moment for Mercy to strike...
