Early access players have said the game is using the Max Payne 3 shooting mechanics which is good news as many people who played Max Payne 3 consider it one of the best third person shooting engines ever made. Also has the Max Payne 3 cinematic kill camera. This is very interesting. I could not be more hyped for this game...

The reviews are coming in and as expected, the game is getting a lot of perfect 10/10's.

Game is already getting backlash from some some people for it's pacing. Ithink certain gamers will be turned off by it. Personally, I love it. I feel like it was deliberately done so that the player can just sit back in the opening hours and take in this amazingly detailed world they've created. For instance have you guys noticed that buildings under construction don't stay under construction forever, like in every other game? They progress and eventually are finished.
Only thing I don't like is how strict the wanted system is. If some asshole starts shooting at me in the middle of town, in view of everyone, I shouldn't get a wanted level just for defending myself.

Is the player character already an outlaw? If so it kind of makes sense though that "justification" wouldn't make the actual game mechanic any less annoying.

In the last game, as your honor or fame grew, you would get less shit from the law. Maybe there's something like that here and just starting out is tougher than down the road?
Haven't played yet, it's sitting unopened next to my PS4... I have huge projects and deadlines and if I step a toe in I'll be ruined forever. This is truly hell.

It seems that everyone is being tortured in their own way over this release My ironic Redemption Inferno is having a 2 hour taste of it on Friday. But I haven't been able to play since and likely won't agin until maybe Wednesday. Just a small taste of bliss makes me want to gulp down even more. Nothing else tastes as good. I hope to give my full impressions soon but it's not hyperbole when I say I was completely blown away. The f'n snow effects made my eyes go wide as I tasted some of my great reward. I've never had a game where I felt the resistance of snow before. In fact, I feel like this game is topographically accurate in a way that no other third person exploration game I've played has ever attempted. Other open world games focus on diverse areas, but this one does that and focuses on the feel/texture of the land itself. The results are revolutionary. Also - probably the coolest and most surprising thing I've ever done in an open world game. I got to SIT on a random bench. Yes, SITTING is finally possible. No longer do you have to stand near a bench and pretend to sit to like a charlatan as if you are taking in the sights in full relaxation mode. Now your character can actually sit down and take a load off and you can drink it all in. The future of games is sitting and I love it. #SitMyAssDown P.S. Wondy - install the second disc just so that it's ready when you are finally ready. It sucks to have to wait days to play this game and finally be ready, only for another 45 minute wait. Get dat bun in the oven! P.P.S. Nth - I wonder if you were also thinking how much the start of this reminded you of FFVI trudging through the snow. Pretty cool that Red Dead 2 started off in such good company. I think Arthur could have used Magitek.

Get dat bun in the oven! This was sage advice. I assumed the majority of the install was on the first disc and took care of that a few days ago. Glad I fired up the second just so I can be ready to go when I'm actually ready to go.
Oh how this game mocks me...

Combined, the two disc installation took me about a 75-80 minutes. By the end of it, I was actually relieved since the initially predicted time was like three hours when the first disc started to install. Then it gradually reduced its prediction as time went on. But initially I was so pumped to start playing the game and had to wait and it was frustrating. What's an extra 80 minutes after 8 years though 🤣
Pre-load, don't become a statistic.
Also, the ability to choose cinematic camera view is easily the best manual camera mode I've ever seen 🎥

YES! 😃👍
Getting it was one of my favorite moments early on and I immediately used it to great satisfaction!
I think they changed the hogtie button command but otherwise the mechanics feel the same.
I'm really looking forward to getting into a melee fight where the opponents don't have guns. I want to try out the grab mechanic. I believe it's the triangle button to initiate a grab but I don't know how that all goes yet.
