Refresh my memory, but wasn't he injured from the neck down (basically a quadriplegic) due to a mishap from a sunset flip?
Regardless, I am so happy to see improvement. From UWFi to being an IWGP, GHC and Triple Crown winner and having the most exciting fight in PRIDE history, he has been amazing.

That is correct. He injured himself on a botched sunset flip in DDT. The 2 Takayamania DLCs had their proceeds go towards his medical expenses. The fact that he is lifting weights is incredible. |

Yes, he is doing amazing and I hope he is able to make a full recovery.

Saori Anou vs Mayumi Okazi frickin' ruled. Storytelling from bell to bell. I had no idea what the build-up to this was, but I enjoyed the match greatly. It's got blood, it's got weapons, it's got a whole slew of heel scumbaggery. This is what I love in wrestling. I don't need multi-match feuds to tell a story. I did have a little bit of context being familiar with Ozaki-gun's antics and Saori Anou played the perfect sympathetic babyface here. I’m a bit out of the loop when it comes to modern Joshi but Mayumi Ozaki has to be considered as one of the GOATs purely on longevity alone. She was having 5 star matches back in the early 90’s and the fact that she’s still working at a top level in 2020 is simply astounding. I feel like she’s often forgotten about as she’s never been particularly flashy or athletically gifted but that’s a crying shame because she really is an outstanding performer in almost every way. |

Well I am a bit disappointed. I saw a video back in August for GLEAT, I was hoping it would be a shoot style revival, but it looks like another random indy office with 2 UWFi style matches thrown in. I heard they drew 612 at Korakuen, which even with COVID precautions, seems dismal.

I didn't watch Wrestle Kingdom. Being jobless, any funds that do come in goes into more important things than a subscription to NJPW World.
However, was anyone kinda let down by results of the first night?
