IMO there is no taint whatsoever on the community. The only reason to move was because TigerPat Pattersword owned the domain. I can also understand C-DRIVE's reluctance to continue managing that site. There were practical reasons to leave. People who are going to stop playing the game because a guy who owned a fan site was practicing illegal activities on the side are idiots.

As Spunk said, it's just how shock works, those people are not idiot, they're just blindsided more by the shock and everything is painted darker for them.
Give people time to come back to their sense and then see themselves that the whole case has nothing to do with the game serie or the community as a whole, and they'll come back.

I refuse to let the deviant actions of one individual define a community no matter what their status was.
Whatever comes of it, his reputation took a major hit that is a permanent mark on his status. The actions we have taken as a community have been swift and just to ensure we continue on.
I want to thank all of you for doing your part with this.

I been seeing people say their leaving the community for good and want to stop playing the game because of this. Seriously even if Sword is guilty, the fuck does that have to do with Fire Pro as a whole or the larger community? Just by the criminal math statistics (you know 1 out of every 10 people shoplift ect) then by all logic we likely got some thieves, rapists, arsonist and maybe a murderer in our alumni. Just because their in the alumni doesn't mean it reflects on the entire community or Game. Seriously where does virtue signaling ever get anyone? Y'know, I don't really think it's fair to characterize people's distaste as "virtue signaling," to say nothing of how aggravating that phrase is as a dismissal of any concerns as, essentially, "SJW bullshit." I don't know who is actually talking about leaving the community forever, but I do know that this left a bad taste in people's mouths, even if nobody -- not even C-Drive, not even Phil Parent -- had an idea of what happened until Sunday night. And if we tried to sweep it under the rug and go on as if nothing happened, it'd be like the situation with NeoGAF a few years back (not to be confused with the NeoGAF situation from a few months back), where innuendo and veiled accusations would always be there in the background as to who knew about the crimes committed and when. And when those accusations are made, they inevitably turn into, "the community knew and they're covering for him." Yes, I realize I'm writing this as if Tiger Sword is guilty. I understand others are more hesitant to assume guilt until proven innocent -- and it's not even something I do typically -- but I always got the impression that, if the police act and put someone on house arrest pending their trial, it's that there's something more serious there. The police usually won't act on CP trafficking charges until they've got their shit together. There's also the fact that a friend of mine was dumb enough to collect and distribute CP on a government computer while he was in the Army... and is currently serving a 15-20 year sentence. anyway, my apologies if this comes off as confrontational or anything!

I was around a lot during the fireproclub and Fire pro zomg days from about 2004-closing of FPC. Pretty much missed the whole FPWArena although I would check in occasionally. Let me say that this shit has NOTHING to do with Fire Pro as a game, or even this community. Tigersword is a pedophile, ok that sucks, but there was a Fire Pro community before, and now after. This community has survived a ton of drama and stupidity. We waited over 10 years for a new Fire Pro game and it’s awesome. The PS4 release will bring new fans and most likely new members to this community. I’m back now cause this place needs the support more than ever. We waited too damn long for a Fire Pro revival to let one pervert kill it.

People are free to be as ridiculous or reserved with their reactions as they want to be.
I talked to Sword fairly regularly, and certainly had no idea about any of this, but I'm not going to let his misdeeds spoil something I enjoy. He has his life, I have mine, they intersect in a tiny niche that has nothing to do with what went down...so I've got nothing to get upset/hurt/feel betrayed/etc. over.

Guilty until proven innocent is something I really believe in.
Thing is, because child porn is such a social stigma, they don't bust for it unless they have a pretty damn good proof and they know they can get the guy convicted.
Moving for me was more about #1 me personally not wanting to associate hobby-wise with somebody who's probably done what he's accused of and #2 guarantee-ing that the forum wouldn't just dissapear one day because the domain owner is in jail.
I trust me not to get jailed. They check my police record every 6 months at work because I work with intellectually disabled folks. I like fat girls with big boobs. I'm not about to get jailed for child porn, buying weed (LEGAL IN CANADA!!!) or whatever. So, I know the place is secure with me owning the domain. And I trust the guys on the team too.

This thread is the first I've heard about what actually happened with Sword, and while is it both shocking and very sad, to let it negatively effect the community in any way would be foolish.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in setting up our new home.
EDIT: I also like girls with big boobs. Just sayin. :D

The only thing I might get in trouble for is murdering pushy pan-handling meth addicts on my way to 7-11 to buy Arnold Palmers...but who reports missing meth-heads? I'll be fine.

I may not be well-known as a member, but I logged into the Arena almost every day since it went online. I'm not sure how I feel, or if I feel anything at all (since I personally didn't know him). The only thing I can compare this to (and it feels like a stretch to do so), is the case against Ian Watkins, former lead singer of lostprophets. Just Google him if you want to know more.
I won't dwell on anything negative that happened at the Arena, and this is a new start for the community and Fire Pro as a whole. Let's make the best of it.

Okay when Pfs Chaos gets on the Arena and demands his account be deleted because "the weirdo who made this site is actually a pedophile" then after being told Sword just owned the domain and Cdrive (who is innocent) actually built the site.....still goes on about not wanting to be associated with the site.....then calls me a likely Pedophile like Sword for "being Mean" to him.....I do call that Virture Signaling. and imo it's immature and childish. I'm sure a lot of people are in shock and I understand some where friends with the man but it's still silly to hold anyone else but Sword accountable.

If you aren't super clear on how the legal system works, aren't in the loop on the situation and assume that the site was taken down by the feds as evidence or whatever, wouldn't you have a freak out, too? Let people go through their shit without calling them, essentially, fakers. Whomever it was probably saw the news and panicked. Imagine someone finding out you were involved with something ran by a pedophile. Imagine if the site WAS involved in his shit somehow. That's legitimately scary, is it not? You gotta give people a break on this.

I don't really drink much. I enjoy a beer here and there, but generally I prefer my beverages without alcohol.
