Okay when Pfs Chaos gets on the Arena and demands his account be deleted because "the weirdo who made this site is actually a pedophile" then after being told Sword just owned the domain and Cdrive (who is innocent) actually built the site.....still goes on about not wanting to be associated with the site.....then calls me a likely Pedophile like Sword for "being Mean" to him.....I do call that Virture Signaling. and imo it's immature and childish. According to the definitions of "virtue" and "signaling", this post is virtue signaling. Also, SJWs can eat it. Everyone can go to hell. Everyone but ME. Looking at the actual case file, how do you get hit with transfer but not possession? Looking at RI's codes, Transfer is that (a)(2), but Possession is (a)(4) and isnt one of the charges. Unless they ignore possession if one of the other situations apply. /shrug. Just looking over it and noticed that.
While I'm pushing the situation away with a 21ft pole, I'm not taking said pole and beating said situation. I dont know the whole story, nor did I really know the guy enough to go hellfire preacher. Clearly it's a bad situation, but for all we know he was sleeping with a 16-17 year old (which is legal in RI and plenty of other states) and the case involved sexting (which CP is anything under 18, doesnt instantly mean pedophilia). We'll probably never know everything, either, unless someone flatly goes to find out.
I guess I'm just used to looking at things very broadly rather than in very narrow scopes.

Maybe Transfer is the bigger charge, so they're focusing on that?

Sometimes they'll start with a higher charge to try and get a plea on a smaller one. It's like getting arrested for Murder 2 but the DA says he'll toss you a deal. Just plead out to Man Slaughter and you'll be out in 10 years instead of 20.

Then he's still going to jail. I think it was 5 years minimum in Jail for possession, IIRC when I made my research.
I had noticed the Transfer but not Possession deal too.

1st time offence for possession can be 0 jail time and just a heavy fine. I think first time offence transfer can also avoid jail (with an even bigger fine) but he'd certainly end up in the same deal Worm is in. Those would probably only come in the situation I noted where consent age is lower than the CP age-limit and the judge is just utterly lenient on you.
He's likely gone either way, and the bridge is likely already ashes even if he somehow ended up innocent.

As far as this whole situation is concerned, if by some small chance he's innocent, then holy canoli, did the feds royally screw up. If he's indeed guilty, dude deserves the Rosemary Kennedy treatment. I do wonder how all this effects his edits though. His edits are his edits. They're not going anywhere if he doesn't go back and nobody is really going to use him if he's gone for good. Not saying that his edits are bad (they're not) but it just doesn't feel right to use them at this time and I don't believe any of them are holding gold in any feds that I know of. Probably the furthest thing from his mind honestly. |

Is it possible he unknowingly downloaded the offending material via a torrent and is also sharing said torrent ?
e.g. he’s downloading music by the masses, some sicko decided to slip some CP in one of the 1000’s of folders contained in the torrent ?
I’m not trying to make excuses for anyone, just trying to outline all possibilities. I know the situation above is possible because I had something similar happen to a relative.

At least he had the decency to tell us a shutdown date so we can all breathe for a little while when it comes to retrieving stuff.
He's probably not legally obligated to talk about his charges and also probably doesn't want to talk about them anyway.
Regardless, it just further cements this site as the new forum.

But we really have no context nor do we now the circumstances that lead to these charges. I wouldn't say that the above scenario is likely, but I also can't rule it out because I don't have enough information. |

I might just be reading into what he posted too much, but he sounded kinda pissed off in his post that a new site was made.
If he's innocent I can understand the frustration in tone, but I mean he has to acknowledge that for most people kid touching is kind of a zero tolerance deal. So they're gonna have that guilty until proven innocent mentality about it. So if he's mad not many people are coming out in support of him - I mean who wants to be the first person to defend a potential pedophile, y'know? It's a bit of an uphill battle.
