Japanese MMA legend Norifumi "KID" Yamamoto, 41, lost his battle with cancer just four weeks after announcing on social media he was diagnosed with it. Jesus, that's a shock. Kid was on top of the MMA world in the mid 2000's, the poor bugger. Haven't thought about that name in a while, didn't think it would be news like this that would bring his name to the front of my mind again. Wow.

This thread isn't really for non-celebrities deaths, even those on a mass scale, but this one is especially mystifying: A giant limousine crashed in new york state, and ALL 18 people inside the limo died. Scary, that's like some Final Destination stuff right there.

Considering the size of standard limos, the crash must have been particularly brutal to account for everyone inside. Like plane crash quality?
Still, very sad to see a tragedy in what I would consider one of the safest vehicles.

RIP Tex Winter, Hall of Fame basketball coach and innovator of the triangle offense that, among other things, was the foundation for the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers dynasties that ran from 1992-2002. His coaching career lasted nearly 6 decades and he spent a few years as a consultant/advisor after that. To say that he was one of the greatest teachers that the game has ever known is an understatement. He changed the game forever.

Tex was an all time great assistant and offensive genius. Sad to hear that.

As man. He was one of my dad's favorites when he was growing up. Tremendous slugger and fielder who was also a visible face in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.
RIP Big Man
