Hmm, First Daisuke Gori, now UnshÅ Ishizuka (aka Yukinori Ishizuka), the voice actor for the OG hustler, best video game character of all time, Heihachi Mishima died. I don't speak any Japanese, but listening to that guy's voice in the games over the years, man, he leant a ton of badassery to that character.
Who will want to take that character on now? He seems to be cursed for voice actors.

Honestly They can probably just recycle the existing voice properties for a bit since the character FINALLY seems to have been killed off for real at the end of Tekken 7 (which is why some of the later chapters are told from his perspective).[\spoiler]
I think the role of his that will be most difficult to replace is Professor Oak in Pokemon. People who voice a character for 2-plus decades just can't help but be permanently associated with the role, even when a credible successor resumes the mantle.
I didn't even realize that he had done so much until this news broke. Mr. Satan, Jet Black, Van Hoenheim, Admiral Kizaru, just too many characters in too many shows, movies, and games to count. Utterly remarkable career. |

Villano III passed away from a brain hemorrhage today. The 7-time original WWF Light Heavyweight Champion was a top luchador in the early 1980s, facing the likes of Perro Aguayo, the original Tiger Mask, Gran Hamada, Dr. Wagner Jr. and Owen Hart and Chris Benoit as the Blue Blazer and Pegasus Kid in the early 90s.
He also had a very successful Lucha de Apuesta record, though has a famous defeat to CMLL legend Atlantis.

Senator and former presidential candidate John McCain has passed away at 81 due to brain cancer.
Politics aside, I appreciate all he did to serve our country.

Just heard that Chris Champion of the New Breed/Yoshi Kwan/Kowabunga the Ninja Turtle died last week. Always thought he was a talented dude, despite a bunch of goofy gimmicks.
Also, Memphis jobber Jim Jamison, who also played Cornette's Cousin Percy.

Icelandic actor Stefan Karl Stefansson, best known as Robbie Rotten from LazyTown, passed away at 43 from cancer. Among all of the deaths this year, this one rocks me to my core. I'm not being facetious either; when watching my nephew, Lazytown was a daily watch and I always appreciated it's visual design against the schlock that is most modern children's shows. |

Two joshi to announce this week.
Aliya' on Monday lost her battle with cancer. At her retirement show, she fought while in Stage 4 cancer.
Ray/Lin Byron today lost her battle with brain cancer, a battle she had since December 2015.
