Or you can get wasted, that will throw off your timing as well.

I sim close to 100%, have hardly played it since beating the Mission Mode. To me, it's all about programming my edits, checking out other people's impressive work and seeing what they can do.

I am a simmer, I just love watching the different wrestlers I download have matches and see how they go down. I will try to play some as soon as I get a good controller for my computer though.

Oh boy, if a UFC game can entertain you, then FPW will be a big treat. The AI is head and shoulders above anything of it's kind. I used to play in Returns since I played every wrestling game at that time, I would usually do my best to work a match against the computer. My problem was after building a great match, the AI would do something dumb and kill the finish to ruin the whole thing. And as I got older, I had less time to invest in getting good at playing and I enjoy being able to multitask. With Fire Pro, the gameplay to me is creating a character that would wrestle how I would play, and watching them perform. Some matches are as good or better than anything I could work myself, and I have the element of surprise as a viewer. There's something extremely satisfying about seeing your creations come to life and actually show personality and fighting spirit, there's just no game like it. Have you tried simming some fights in the latest UFC? EA have put in a ton of work in fine-tuning the AI, and the fights feel surprisingly natural (all things considered) . I wouldn't have ever thought it but they did a fantastic job on the game. But point taken about Fire Pro. :)

But point taken about Fire Pro. :) I've simmed in 2 a little, haven't played 3 with them building it around a Conor clone career mode and releasing Kimbo Slice as a legend next to Crocop and Wanderlei with the stats to match. I want to play it but can't justify supporting it. I hear the striking is improved in 3, but 2 feels remarkably braindead whether playing or simming.

I do more downloading, organizing, deleting, and reorganizing than anything else. Historically I played the crap out of Fire Pro XP and G. D and R were nearly 100% simmed for my efed.

I predominantly play matches as I like to work a match against the more realistic AI that fire pro provides. I use fire pro as a quick fix for my wrestling and gaming needs playing it a couple of times a week to fill up time between other games. That being said I am interested in simming matches as I like the creative outlets running an Efed provides, it’s just that I’m absolutely horrendous at making good CPU logic lol.

Simming is what attracted me to fire pro games, though I do enjoy playing ever once in a blue moon given how the logic system makes the AI smarter than any other wrestling game I’ve played...

This is my first Fire Pro game and I couldn't understand why people would sim; now I only sim! Main reasons are the same as mentioned above but also FPW has been my a) revival into wrestling and b) my gateway to Japanese and independent circuits. By wanting to recreate wrestlers who were previously unknown to me I've had to research them by watching various matches then trying to get the logic right (I have the vanilla game so I can only do so much). As as result I've watched (nay, studied) more wrestling since this game came out than I think I've ever have.
Also, accurate logic does the game justice; I simply cannot remember the priority attacks and corresponding button presses for all of these edits while actually playing. There's more satisfaction seeing an edit perform a priority attack because I told it to.

I sim a vast majority of my matches. I just don't find Fire Pro that fun to actually play. If I want to PLAY a wrestling game, I go for the 2K series these days...way more "interaction" with everything.

I enjoy playing Fire Pro MMA and Boxing a lot, with other people of course, which is why I frequently voice my discontent with Fire Pro World's netcode.
Playing wrestling matches is uh, not particularly exciting. It works, but eh. In that area, World is outclassed by Giant Gram 2000, KOC, VPW2, and hell, even some of the other Fire Pro games. (i.e. Fire Pro G story mode, Fire Pro Wrestling on GBA's mode where you had to work towards specific styles and the ratings systems actually meant something)
