[One Thumb Up] Back to regular old Office programming and this was a show that, in spite of some rough patches, ended up better than not, overall. The Browning-Kawabata match was a sufficient main event, the light tube deathmatch was one of the better ones the PEWA has ever held and Wild Women-Hounds was a good battle. The rest, I take or leave, but nothing other than the opener was memorably bad, so an upward thumb marks this show. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS PEWA: Welcome Back - 9-29-2023 8:00 PM (CT) on Friday, September 29th at the Halcyon Ballroom in Philadelphia, PA Bonus Match Brickhouse Thelonious with Killer King Jones vs. Floyd Zeppelin with Running Diamond Cutter Man A good showing for Brickhouse Thelonious in his hometown Philly debut, keeping up with a determined Floyd Zeppelin before finishing him with his mentor's Eritrean Head Cannon for the three count. Main Event Demarcus Browning(Rose Garden) with Moustapha Ndour vs. Hideo Kawabata(Realm of Wrestling) To nobody's surprise(other than Dave Doolittle, who inexplicably gave this a terrible rating), an absolute battle was seen here in the main event, as Hideo Kawabata made his return after having lost the PEWA Extreme title, and while he fell short of a win here, Kawabata dragged Demarcus Browning into deep water, wreaking havoc until a Browning Buster elevated jumping bomb kept him down for three. Ruler of the Road Championship Bout Killer King Jones(C) with Brickhouse Thelonius vs. Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) with Zulu Lionheart Shockingly abrupt title defense for the legendary Killer King Jones, the PEWA Original showing little of the whimsical side that he cultivated over the prior decade, and simply went into kill mode against the Hunter of the Ring, pinning him after an Eritrean Head Cannon in under ten. With his retirement announced for 2024, Jones seems to be as potent a threat as ever. Lighttube Death Match The New Mutants(The EMP and PM Carnage) vs. Breakers' Revenge (X-Kira and Tomas) Short that it was, this made up for its brevity with an immense amount of action, culminating in X-KIRA pinning the EMP after an elevated powerbomb. Massive win for the Breakers, who finally have a result in the ring to match their overall popularity among the PEWA faithful. Sampath Thakur with Gabriel Cruise(Pro Wrestling Revival) vs. Luke Powers with Jack Fury While Sampath Thakur and Gabriel Cruise are slated to challenge Powers and Fury for the tag belts, Luke Powers made short work of his upstart foe here, pinning him after a toss up powerslam in an incredibly one-sided bout that cannot instill confidence in Thakur or Cruise as their challenge draws closer. Bath Salts Zombie vs. The Hindu Sheik The Bath Salts Zombie only seemed to irritate the Hindu Sheik with his constant biting attacks, leading the Sheik to spike him on his head with the Ultimate Hindu Bomb for the three count, demonstrating his superior level of ability. Wild Women(Mina Fitsharris and Juliette Erving) and Raven Brighid(QTWA) with Venus Couture(QTWA) vs. Hounds of Abbadon(Garisson Rowe, Scarlet Rose and Big Clay Hurst with Skidmark)(Wrestle Parade) Impressive six person tag that brought the best out of its competitors and Raven Brighid rose to the occasion by dropping a big top rope guillotine leg onto Scarlett Rose to claim the pin and the win for her side. P-Dogg vs. Oak Man(Butterfloor) The first PEWA champion fought(perhaps literally) for his life here, outworking Branch Oakley in a wild brawl that nearly went half an hour. The fight went in and out of the ring, with countless big moves landed, before the Dogg was able to lock in a sharpshooter for the win. Pretty Pirates GALeon Second Chapter(La Corsaria(Phoenix Rising) and Warsan Caliaah Ali) vs. Hobo Harry and Melino Tupou As the original PPG, Hinari and Camilla Kidd fought on Sakura Pro, the secondary unit of the Pirates claimed a big win in their PEWA debut, with Warsan Caaliah Ali submitting Hobo Harry with a Captain's Hook bulldog choke. Ninja Smith with Skurai vs. "Masked Maniac IV" To little surprise, "MMIV" ended up being Silent Death once again, ambushing Ninja Smith, but failing to follow through after taking the advantage, leading to a disasterous match and performance, and in spite of a sustained beatdown, Smith was able to hold on long enough to get a massive upset pinfall win following a missile dropkick. --- Match of the Night: New Mutants vs. Breakers Revenge, Hounds of Abbadon vs. Wild Women -The Mutants and the Breakers wasted absolutely no time, but made the best of their short match to steal the show. The Wild Women and the Hounds had another quality match that was good enough to share the award. Performance of the Night: Killer King Jones -Shaka Corbin went far in the Pan African Cup and nearly beat King Bemba, but was shrugged off by Killer King Jones in his Ruler of the Road defense, an accomplishment that slightly overshadowed Demarcus Browning's big win over Hideo Kawabata.

Cowboy Johnston's first ever show as TIPWF Commissioner starts things off with a triple set of featured bouts, with a contender royale for the Lone Star, a big Dominican Golden Championship rematch and a potentially explosive match with the trios belts on the line. Add in a stacked undercard full of popular performers and the formula for a memorable show as well as the beginning of a new era in Texas is in place. [One Thumb Down] You've heard this story before, so I'll not bother going into detail: a show derailed by technical mishaps and some putrid matches early on. As soon as the technical issues were resolved, the show did manage to pick up considerably, and the Broadway-Butkus match is damn well worth seeing no matter what, so I couldn't give this a full on two downward thumbs. Check that match out, and stick around for the upper card stuff afterwards, and you'll do alright. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS TIPWF: Texan Turmoil - 10-6-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, October 6th at the Stockade in Amarillo, TX Main Event: Texan Turmoil - TIPWF Lone Star Championship Number One Condership Battle Royal The Everyman vs. Valentina Verda vs. The Mallard(MWWC) vs. The New Humanity vs. Lil' Lariato vs. Felix Santana Jr. vs. Steve Phillips vs. El Hijo del Sapo(Rose Garden) Once again, we will see El Hijo del Sapo taking on Lance Marshall with the Lone Star on the line, after the Son of the Toad overcame seven other top competitors here. Of special note here, Jean-Pierre Mutombo vacated his spot in the royale, passing it along to the Mallard. Valentina Verda dove into absolutely nothing outside at one point in the match, and New Humanity was the last man standing before Sapo spiked him with the Toadal Elimination for the knockout to emerge victorious. Dominican Golden Championship Bout El Froggy Mask(C) with the Mallard(MWCC) and Rodeo Angel vs. El Hijo de Macchiato with Salvador Sosa Another massive win for the second Froggy Mask, who has become one of the most dominant champs in all of wrestling, overcoming a motivated effort from Macchiato to pull off a rollup pinfall victory. A high quality match that delivered upon its promise and showcased just why El Froggy Mask has become as respected as he is. TIPWF Lone Star Trios Championship Bout The New Roland Chang Trio (Roland Chang Jr., Roland Chang III and Annie Chang(C) with Roland Chang Sr.) vs. Rudo Army(Florencia Espinosa, Megan Chabot and Canadian Grizzly with Gunny Lee Hart) A great showing for the Rudo Army who finally brought the New Roland Chang Trio's reign to an end as Canadian Grizzly submitted Roland Chang III with the Dungeon Sharpshooter. The Army has made great strides in 2023 to recover its prior standing, and this win will go a long way towards that restoration effort. Lenny Broadway vs. Titus Butkus with Freight Train McMichaelson Thankfully, the broadcast was back to running properly with this match, as Titas Butkus paid tribute to the late great Dick Butkus by bringing former Chicago Bear Freight Train McMichaelson in his corner for the bout. However, this was Long Haul Lenny Broadway's night to shine, as he endured Butkus's impressive attack, only to return fire in a spectacular slugfest culminatiing in a front falling brainbuster spike for the pinfall win. Absolutely the best match of the night and a borderline MOTY quality match. Drumstick(Wrestle Parade) vs. Margarita Morales This would have easily been a MOTN contender if it was properly broadcast, with a great technical showing from both ladies, and Drumstick coming out ahead with her double chickenwing cattle mutiliation hold. Alas, the choppy feed made this one difficult to digest. ARENA(Arisa Hashimoto and Rena LeBlanc) vs. Speed Dating(Riccardo De Luca(Phoenix Rising) and Felice Santana) A fast moving tag match marred by terrible technical issues with the Senatorial Streaming Service, in the end, Rena LeBlanc pinned Felice Santana after a combination Cajun Moon moonsault and a diving elbow from Arisa Hashimoto. Nefertiri with Mohammed Ramses vs. Corinna Schwall with Opaque and Saburo Aoki Jr. A good step up for the show here with a solid showing from Nefertiri, still maintaining her momentum from the Pan African Tour. She overcame a strong challenge from Cobra Schwall, and came out ahead with an inside cradle for the pin. Green River Wrestling(Abednego Calhoun and Obadiah Calhoun with Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun) vs. Sun and Moon(Saur Oorja and Moonman) A fairly long match that extended things out even further after the first mishap of a match, but this one was much more entertaining and had more of a proper flow. A big win for Sun and Moon with Moonman rolling up Abednego Calhoun for the win. The tag scene in the TIPWF is looking more impressive than ever with teams such as these on the rise. Colision vs. Jimmy Jack Walker A total mess of a match, but that was to be expected with these two reckless roughnecks, a match that went on entirely too long thanks to Walker's drunken antics and absurd toughness. Even so, Colision came out ahead here, winning with a dtiving splash for the pin with less than ten minutes left on the clock. Not the best way to start the show, but this one was always going to be a crapshoot considering the participants. --- Match of the Night: Broadway vs. Butkus -A match that hit hard enough to do justice to the memory of Dick Butkus, and as impressive a hoss fest as you'll ever see. As good as the Drumstick-Morales and Froggy-Macchiato bouts were, this one was unquestionably far and away the best of the night. Performance of the Night: El Hijo del Sapo -Big, big win for the Toad, beating seven other high level performers and operating as the instrumental figure in the match, Sapo's win puts him slightly above the Rudo Army's trio to claim sole possession of this award for the show. --- Injury Report The New Humanity: Neck Stinger (One Month Recovery Time) -Sapo's Toadal Elimination spiked Esteban Vargas on his head, and it seems that the elite athlete will be told to take a month off, even if he reportedly was already feeling much better once he went to the back.

A battle of monsters awaits in the main event as Ajax, fresh off rejecting the offer to join Worldwide Conquest, takes on the Mongolian Menace, Tarkhan the Mangler in what promises to be an earth-rattling encounter. GPC returns to action in the Preliminary Main, Mr. Moonsault renews an old alliance, and Iceberg goes to war with the Syndicate and Mr. Cobra, with much more loaded onto this Chicago-bound event. [Two Thumbs Up] There are two main factors that play into a show receiving the two thumbs, and one lesser one. This one checked all those boxes. It didn't have any duds, sported no disasters and lacked any technical issues. It featured a number of great matches that were worth watching on their own, with the main event living up to hopes and the bonus match stealing the show(but what else is new?). And it followed an utter disaster of a show last week and contrasted perfectly with that failure, and often, that juxtaposition is part of what helps raise the profile of a standout program. So, all in all, L-Pro brought their best game, and came away with one of the best Office shows of the year to date. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Lightning Pro x Wacker Drive Revival: Windy City Wreckage - 10-13-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, October 13th at Wacker Drive Revival in Chicago, IL Bonus Match The Outlaw, Sam Hall vs. Kosuke "Choppu" Arai Bonus matches in the Office has been the highlight of more shows than not over the last year, and once again, a thrown-together bout would rise to the occasion as Kosuke Arai and Sam Hall slugged it out in and out of the ring for a good old fashioned pier six brawl, Arai no selling the Damn Your Eyes diving DDT, Hall no selling the Hell Banishing Chop back to back as the match heated up. Hall would then respond with an impaler DDT, but it would be Choppu Arai who walked away with the win after one more Hell Banishing Chop for the pin. As good as it gets for this type of bout. Main Event Ajax with Dexa Jain and Daniel Ness vs. Tarkhan The Mangler with ALEXANDER, Rumika Hashi and Maximilian Francisco De La Cruz Never mind Dave Doolittle's spiteful 69% evaluation here, this was a borderline MOTY contender and one of the best big man matches the Office has ever seen. Tarkhan and Ajax held nothing back here at all, with the Mangler dropping his deadly knees and bombing away with repeated urakens, while Ajax responded to a Mongolian Mountain Bomb by stealing Tarkhan's own Mongolian Muscle Buster at one point. A dubious rope break saved Tarkhan from being pinned after a Ajax spear, but one more would finally finish the Mangler in the middle of the ring, giving the Man from the Mountains yet another signature win. The Peak Performance-Worldwide Conquest feud continues on, but this time, Peak Performance were able to put some points on the board. Queen's Rangers(Valerie May and Phil Mercury) vs. Pure Gold(Mallory Spaulding and Kyle Anderson)(Phoenix Rising) Most other nights, a match like this would have been a shoo-in for the MOTN, but this prove it match would have to settle for merely being a very good match on a very good show. As it was, the Queen's Rangers gave a credible challenge to Pure Gold, but Spaulding and Anderson have evolved into a well-oiled machine at this point in their careers, and Spaulding was able to submit Valerie May with her trademark stretch plum hold to walk away with the win. The Queen's Rangers had nothing to be ashamed of here, though, and remain high in the rankings for the Victorious Tag Medals after giving the champs a good match like this. Iceberg with D-Team(Freight Train McMichaelson, Astrid Johannson and Leilani Auerbach) vs. Mr. Cobra(SWA) with The Syndicate(Lucretia DeCavalcante, Eddie the Wire and Tony the Rod) The unthinkable happened here. In spite of the Syndicate's presence at ringside, in spite of Mr. Cobra's vicious attacks, Charles Berg was able to become the first person in the Office to score a win over the SWA hardcore legend, surviving an onslaught of dirty tactics and the dreaded Cobra Crossface before spearing the living daylights out of the Great Bishop for the pin. Double Dive(Mr. Moonsault and Lord Senton(Blue Thunder Pro)) vs. Bemba's Royal Court(Esther Musambi and Yetunde Oya with King Bemba) Having sundered all the rest of his ties, Marcus Xavier reached out to his sole remaining ally in the industry in Blue Thunder Pro's Lord Senton to take on his (second) former faction. The Royal Court found themselves surprisingly on the back foot here, with Double Dive going for repeated double teams and carrying the fight out of the ring. Mr. Moonsault found sweet retribution for his excommunication with a moonsault KO on Yetunde Oya. Of course, the Voudou Priestess of Benin would get up and walk away not too long after referee Norio Fujimori called for the stoppage, but this was still an exuberant moment of redemption for a man who seemed to have entirely lost his way otherwise. D-Man Daunte Thomas vs. Bebop Tiger Daunte Thomas has been a rock solid powerhouse brawler for the better part of two decades, but the Bebop Tiger cut through him like a plasma torch, landing a flurry of suplexes before a double jump crossbody off the ropes resulted in the three count. With repeated wins like this, the Tiger could well end up finding himself in line for a chance at the Victorious Medal. Reimi Makabe with SHINYSHINY91(Alice Yanagisawa and Akari Ikari) vs. Rei Hasegawa with White Hot(Keiko Maeda(Phoenix Rising) and Yuki Okamura) The eagarly awaited singles debut of Reimi Makabe, and SHINYSHINY91's first broadcast showing in the promotion ended up with a loss to a motivated, confident Rei Hasegawa, with the White Hot heiress utilizing her edge in skills and experience by pinning Makabe with a flying rollup. Still, the GPClub President held her own, and looks to make an impact as she furthers her own growth in the ring. Diego Santana vs. Kengo Tamura with Koji Sawada Diego Santana's first match back in L-Pro was a properly understandable loss as he ended up matched up against Ajax, but this loss had to have stung deeper as PEWA Original, the Yokohama Ronin, Kengo Tamura cruised his way to a win, pinning Santana after a Delivery from Yokohama diving senton. Francesco Hirose with Rimi Kondo vs. Innocent Mugisha with Kousuke "Choppu" Arai A well-paced, competitive bout that saw Francesco Hirose overcoming a determined, agile effort from Innocent Mugashi to earn the pin after a victory roll variation. Preliminary Main Event GRANDEUR(Ali Ahmed Mehrmouhammdi, FENYANG, Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan) and Psycho Witch(ZIP Japan)) vs. The Destructive Alliance(Crusher Honda, Wrecker Yamamoto, G.P. Christopher and Yuriko Masamune) GRANDEUR added its newest member with the feared Psycho Witch adding even more ZIP Japan prestige to the faction. This was not enough to overcome the energy of a returning G.P. Christopher, or especially, the wrath of Crusher Honda, who spiked Mehrmohammdi with a northern lights bomb to score the pinfall win for the Destructive Alliance. --- Match of the Night: Ajax vs. Tarkhan, Hall vs. Choppu -A ferocious battle of beasts and an old school brawl for the ages, either way, these two matches were above and beyond anything else and as good as it gets for the Office. Performance of the Night: Iceberg -Beating Mr. Cobra one on one, Iceberg did what no other Office competitor has ever done, and made it look easy, to boot. This was such a solid win that the D-Team have punched their ticket to a challenge for The Loop. --- Injury Report Yetunde Oya: Undiagnosed (No Medical Suspension) -In spite of being stopped after a moonsault by Mr. Moonsault, Oya would then get up and walk it off as if nothing happened. Par for the course for Oya, who was untreated by the medical staff afterwards.

UCSS is back in LA with a card headlined by a seismic showdown between Larry Washington and Rory Banner that will not only decide the fate of Hakim Fields's next challenger, but tip the balance between the perpetual hostilities between the Sweet Science Society and the Big Banter Brand. Also, the Polar Opposites look to take a big step up, as does Eliza Faulkner in a series of important matchups. Following her stratospheric Pan African Cup winning run, Lanna Ndi has also been announced to be set in stone as the challenger for the Openweight title at the end of the year for Lariats and Legislators, pending the results of the upcoming Fields vs. Washington/Banner bout. UCSS: Fall Fighting - 10-21-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on October 21st at the Doors of Perception in Los Angeles, CA Main Event: UCSS Openweight Title Number One Contendership Bout Larry Washington(Realm of Wrestling) with the Sweet Science Society(Jumbo Joseph Butt, Ricky "Violence" Valdez and Andronicus Turner) vs. Rory Banner with the Big Banter Brand(Sanem Becker, Virgil de Boer and Zin Win Aye) UCSS Tag Team Number One Contendership Bout Polar Opposites(Lula Bufona and Marija Pulev) vs. The Limbtakers(Ruthless Nicole Alger and Candace Monroe(Phoenix Rising)) SWA Prestige Rules Eliza Faulkner(MWCC) with Mackenzie Bergeron vs. Takaya Hinomiya(SWA) with Soji Kanda(SWA) Thiago Gracie with Angie Armstrong and Jamie Tomasi vs. Masa Tokugawa with Ai Tanaka Della Dwight with Aline Richelieu and Drake Elliot IV(Wrestle Parade) vs. Seong Jung Hwan Tough Guys UCSS Debut Bunch'a Amateurs(Zak Heyes and Cody Sheppard)(Butterfloor) vs. Tough Guys(Anwar Omar and the Equalizer) Gentleman Jem Gladstone vs. Onosa'i Tagaloa with Sakura Ishigami Blackwood African Prospects(Djeneba Kouame and Ayanda)(Phoenix Rising) vs. Girl's Night Out(Lexie Barrett(Butterfloor) and Abbie Jones(SWA)) Renate Barlowe vs. Francine Francis with Anaba Camacho

[One Thumb Up] A good, not great UCSS offering that had a satisfying main event and a standout SWA Prestige match. Past that, this was your typical UCSS program that didn't drop the ball, but also didn't rise above expectations, either. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS UCSS: Fall Fighting - 10-21-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on October 21st at the Doors of Perception in Los Angeles, CA Bonus Match: Standard Rules Gang Wong vs. Dangerous Nicholas Alger A good match between two former champions, but the Dangerous One was able to take the win with his Bermuda Triangle hold for the victory. Not quite a show stealer, but a welcome bonus, nonetheless. Bonus Match Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Chun Zheng(Neutral Ground) with Gang Wong Dirk Van Buren was simply too much for Chun Zheng, and while the Shaolin student did manage to start landing her unique attacks later in the match, it was too little, too late, and Van Buren closed out with a sharpshooter for the submission win. Main Event: UCSS Openweight Title Number One Contendership Bout Larry Washington(Realm of Wrestling) with the Sweet Science Society(Jumbo Joseph Butt, Ricky "Violence" Valdez and Andronicus Turner) vs. Rory Banner with the Big Banter Brand(Sanem Becker, Virgil de Boer and Zin Win Aye) A good main event, with Rory Banner starting strong, but Larry Washington was able to turn the tables with his crushing punch power, eventually punching Banner out with some ground and pound for the second round TKO stoppage, netting himself a title match against Hakim Fields. UCSS Tag Team Number One Contendership Bout Polar Opposites(Lula Bufona and Marija Pulev) vs. The Limbtakers(Ruthless Nicole Alger and Candace Monroe(Phoenix Rising)) Quality tag battle that saw the potential and growing chemistry of the Polar Opposites, but the Limbtakers are still on another level, with Ruthless Nicole Alger submitting Marija Pulev with the Ruthless Armripper headscissors kimura to earn a shot at American Apex and the UCSS tag belts. SWA Prestige Rules Eliza Faulkner(MWCC) with Mackenzie Bergeron vs. Takaya Hinomiya(SWA) with Soji Kanda(SWA) An outstanding match with Eliza Faulkner looking to earn a shot at Soji Kanda's Prestige belt. She dominated the early going, demonstrating marked improvement over the past few months, but Quicksilver Hinomiya was able to return fire in the second ten minute stanza, eventually landing a shining front kick to put Faulkner down for the ten count. Regardless of the final results, Eliza Faulkner has never looked better, taking an experienced, accomplished opponent to the limit here. Thiago Gracie with Angie Armstrong and Jamie Tomasi vs. Masa Tokugawa with Ai Tanaka Thiago Gracie once again showed why "Victory by Armbar, is normal," in defeating former student, Masa Tokugawa with a third round jujigatame in a match that demonstrated that the former singles and tag champ still has a lot left in the tank. Standard Rules Match Della Dwight with Aline Richelieu and Drake Elliot IV(Wrestle Parade) vs. Seong Jung Hwan A flat out asymetric firefight between two opponents with vastly varying styles, but it would be Seong Jung Hwan's speed and precision knockout kicks overcoming Dwight's well-honed technique and height, with the Tae Kwan Do specialist landing a spectacular side kick to knock her towering opponent down and out for the count. Tough Guys UCSS Debut Bunch'a Amateurs(Zak Heyes and Cody Sheppard)(Butterfloor) vs. Tough Guys(Anwar Omar and the Equalizer) If any match ever could be described as "meat and potatoes", this would be the one. No flash, nothing fancy, just straight forward competition that saw the Tough Guys earn a big win over a pair of former champs with the Equalizer submitting Zak Hayes with a rear naked choke. Gentleman Jem Gladstone vs. Onosa'i Tagaloa with Sakura Ishigami Although Tagaloa seemed to land the bigger moves with her impactful suplexes and swift uraken strikes, Gentleman Jem was the one coming away with the win, locking his foe in an arm trapped half crab hold for a third round submission victory. Blackwood African Prospects(Djeneba Kouame and Ayanda)(Phoenix Rising) vs. Girl's Night Out(Lexie Barrett(Butterfloor) and Abbie Jones(SWA)) The Prospects again showed good energy here, but Girls Night Out were a step above in the clutch, with Lexie Barrett pinning Ayanda with a bridging magistral variation. Renate Barlowe vs. Francine Francis with Anaba Camacho A competent submission battle between two storied veterans, but while Renate Barlowe's leglocks were a constant threat, Francine Francis survived those to earn a second round submission win with her Lockdown hold. --- Match of the Night: Faulkner vs. Hinomiya -Far and away the best match of the night, a great test for a rising prospect and a seasoned vet alike. The Polar Opposites-Limbtakers match was also good, but not quite on the same level. Performance of the Night: Larry Washington -The Fistic Deity overcame a strong showing from Rory Banner and rightfully earned his chance at the UCSS Openweight belt with this win. --- Injury Report Della Dwight: Moderate Concussion (Three Month Medical Suspension) -A perfectly placed high side kick knocked Dwight out, and it looks that she will likely miss out on the rest of the year as a result.

PEWA President, Bodybreaker Brown: I'm just gonna shoot straight with you all here. Last year's Horror of Hardcore was a pile of shit. We botched that one up, no excuses, it's our big show, and we didn't show up. We know that Horror of Hardcore, our biggest Philly event of the year, became a joke. But we're the PEWA, we don't back away from a challenge. And I think we have a show put together that's re-establishing the real legacy of the Horror of Hardcore here. Bodybreaker: We got more shocks and scares and badass surprises than last time. We have the two baddest men in the planet fightin' it out in the main event, the Warbringers collide, Ndour defending against Browning. The OG Champ himself, P-Dogg's going for the Ruler of the Road. Jack Fury and the GOAT, Luke Powers defending against two bad dudes rising up with Cruise and Thakur. And that's just the championship stuff, we got so much more here, I can't even begin to spoil the surprises we got in store, so make sure you make it in on Friday to see it all shake out. [One Thumb Up] Let me just start by saying that this was far and away a competent show, a major improvement upon last year's disaster. In that regard, Horror of Hardcore 2023 was a major league success. But you also have to figure that this show took the place of this month's Golden Touch show. A lack of memorably awful time wasters wasn't enough to overcome a large portion of the show consisting of inoffensive squashes and decent but not great tag matches. The main event did deliver, with the Warbringers bringing the best out of each other, and the surprises mostly hit the target, but this one mostly just shot for par. Still, I'd take that over last year's quintruiple bogey, any day of the week and twice on Sunday. -Tom S. Hunter PEWA Horror of Hardcore 2023 - 10-27-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, October 27th at the Halcyon Ballroom in Philadelphia, PA Bonus Match The Hindu Sheik vs. Digital Dave Doolittle Dave Doolittle has been putting out some rather cynical ratings over the last month or so, and as such, was called out on the carpet by the great Hindu Sheik. The Sheik landed an early Hindu Bomb and followed up around eight minutes in with another one to pin Digital Dave with ease, reminding the Ring Beholder pundit to be more mindful of his ratings. Bonus Match: Three on Two Elimination eMo(Vampyro, Luci and Chasity)(Wrestle Parade) vs. PEWA's Most Hated(Backyard Pyro and Zanca) The first of two bonus matches led to the first ever meeting between Vampyro and Backyard Pyro, but the real story here was Vampyro and Chasity's endless makeout session, which would eventually lead to Zanca's elimination to end the match, the stuntman trapped between the two and tapping out. Backyard Pyro had previously been eliminatied with a sandwich hip attack between Luci and Vampyro. A fun spectacle that showcased the vampiric element of eMo quite well. Main Event: PEWA Extreme Championship Bout Moustapha Ndour(C) vs. Demarcus Browning(Rose Garden) A handshake deal made between the Warbringers to avoid any serious injury would seem to be a pact to put on a less intense match, but nothing of the sort took place here as Demarcus Browning threw nearly everything he had at his good friend and teammate in the interest of usurping his championship. Moustapha Ndour was able to meet and exceed this onslaught, and would eventually come away with a successful defense after pinning Browning with a Guitarra de Angel stretch powerbomb. An instant classic that will go down as one of the best matches of the year. PEWA Extreme Tag Championship Bout Powers and Fury(Luke Powers and Jack Fury) vs. Gabriel Cruise(PWR) and Sampath Thakur The changing of the guard came as fast as the rise of the team of Thakur and Cruise. While the imposing experience and strength of Powers and Fury were on full display, the determination of their challengers was more than enough to overcome the two strongest champions in PEWA history, and Gabriel Cruise was able to close things out with a diving headbutt on Luke Powers to earn the pinfall victory and gain the prize of the PEWA Extreme Tag Championship. PEWA Ruler of the Road Championship Bout Killer King Jones(C) vs. P-Dogg A startlingly fast ending with Killer King Jones landing three consecutive Eritrean Head Cannons to pin the original PEWA Extreme champ, retaining his Ruler of the Road title once again. Insanitarium Match Headhunter vs. Victor Van Banning II One year ago, the Headhunter made his debut in the Insanitarium against Victor Van Banning in one of the greatest disasters in wrestling history. Headhunter, who seemed to have had no clue what to do in a wrestling setting, was relegated for half a year to tag matches only, while Van Banning was released from his contract in the aftermath. Repeating the same actions and expecting different results would equate to insanity, but isn't that the theme of this stipulation? As such, Victor Van Banning showed up as the mystery entry to make his return to the PEWA after a year away to right the wrongs of a year ago. He managed to put on a competent match with Headhunter that barely resembled their prior meeting, with Headhunter showing his vast improvements in the ring, Van Banning pushing the pace, and a vicious finish when Headhunter nearly brained his opponent with a wicked chair shot to pin Van Banning. This was not the best of the night, but compared to the first meeting, this was an absolute highlight of the evening. The Wild Women(Mina Fitsharris and Juliette Erving) vs. Hellbutchers(Cleaver(Rose Garden) and Demon Otsu(ZIP Japan) The Wild Women had a near worst case scenerio play out here with the Hellbutchers showing up as their mystery opponents. This was a spiteful fight that sprawled out of the ring on a persistent basis, only for Juliette Erving to pull a rabbit out of her hat by knocking Cleaver out with her lifting snap neckbreaker, The Conclusion. Hellfire Brimstone Match Skurai vs. Silent Death Silent Death was out for blood, looking to end the career of his former mentor for once and for all, and it seemed that the original Hardcore Ninja had absolutely nothing for his opponent here, with Silent Death closing out definitively with a sandwich chair shot to the head for a ten minute pin. Sir Vladimir Henry and Heidi Karnstein vs. Jakob of Furis(OG-FPD) and Carla D'Antoni The House of Hammer has held a longstanding feud with OG-FPD's vampiric icon, Jakob of Furis, and Furis was one half of the mystery foes here, bringing along a debutant to the Office in the mysterious beauty, Carla D'Antoni. The team of Furis and D'Antoni overcame the dominant teamwork of the House for D'Antoni to pin Karnstein after a spin back kick to the face. Lighttube Deathmatch X-KIRA vs. Headless Holdsman(Butterfloor) The first mystery competitor of the night turned out to be the dreaded Headless Holdsman, the final boss of Butterfloor who outright demolished X-KIRA and pinned him with a hard scoop slam. Lyra Silvermoon(Rose Garden) vs. Robin Nox(Phoenix Rising) Abrupt, one sided win for Robin Nox, who seems to have held a grudge from a previous meeting with Silvermoon, pinning her with a poison rana. Pretty Pirates GALeon Second Chapter (La Corsaria(Phoenix Rising) and Warsan Caliaah Ali) vs. Ghost of a Chance(Seiko Kanyakako(Typhoon Pro) and Yamikuro) Competitive, entertaining opener that saw the Pirates emerge victorious after Warsan Caaliyah Ali submit Yamikuro with the Captain's Hook bulldog choke. --- Match of the Night: Ndour vs Browning -Incredible main event that saw both of the Warbringers take each other to another level all together. Performance of the Night: Gabriel Cruise and Sampath Thakur -The underdog team overachieved from their first performance all the way to the PEWA Extreme Tag Championship, beating two of the most accomplished icons in the promotion's history to do so. Going forward, it will become tougher and tougher to consider these two anything but favorites. --- Injury Report Cleaver: No Diagnosis -After a clear knockout from Juliette Erving's Conclusion lifting neckbreaker, Cleaver simply sat up, walked away and stuffed a team of the medical staff into a dumpster. While no medical info would have been shared regardless, Cleaver doesn't play by the rules that most competitors are held to.

[One Thumb Up] If I gave half thumbs, this'd be a thumb and half, but you really can't ascribe instant classic status to a show that didn't have many standout matches. What we did have here, though, was a perfectly competent program that never stagnated, never stunk out the joint and did exactly what it set out to do, moving feuds along, setting future matches up and presenting some entertaining matches. You can't punish a setup show for not being Lariats and Legislators, or even Golden Touch, but you also can't really go further than a solid recommendation if it didn't go above and beyond, either. -Tom S. Hunter TIPWF: Setting the Table - 11-3-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, November 3rd at the Stockade in Amarillo, TX Bonus Match: Gray Thomas Debut Match Gray Thomas vs. John "Newface" Smith(SWA) Surprise debut for XTK Backyard Battle graduate and Firehawk Sentarl idolizer, Gray Thomas, as well as another match to highlight the renewed SWA partnership with Thomas taking on John "Newface" Smith. Thomas's debut seemed to be faring well until John Smith decided to send a "welcome to the bigs" message by means of a Newface Powerbomb knockout. TIPWF Lone Star Trios Championship Number One Contendership Bout The P.A.C.(Christine DeWalt and ARENA(Arisa Hashimoto and Rena LeBlanc) with Monica Tesfaye) vs. The Cogburn Ranch(Lil' Lariato and the Celebrated(Toni Bolton and Maxine Blaster) with Generalissimo Kool Q) A good main event that saw the Celebrated back in full force after Toni Bolton's previous injury on The Strut, and the Cogburn Ranch trio fight their way to victory, with Toni herself pinning Christine DeWalt after a Bolton Blast powerslam. Retribution Bout Tijuana Wreckin' Ball, Marcos Angulo with Walt Callahan and Johnny Sixname vs. "Long Haul" Lenny Broadway with The Everyman, Big Bubba Bob and Cowboy Johnston This was originally scheduled to have pitted TIPWF Old Guard champ, Wataru Nakajima up against Lenny Broadway, but right before the match, it was announced that Nakajima had been ambushed backstage and was not able to compete. TIPWF Commssioner Cowboy Johnston then ordered a review of the security footage, and discovered that the High Plains Drifters, and Marcos Angulo in particular were the culprits. Incensed at losing his title rematch opportunity, Broadway demanded a shot at Angulo, one that Johnston was more than happy to grant, even to the point of accompanying the long haul trucker at ringside. The match itself was an absolute slugfest, by far the very best of the night. Both Angulo and Broadway entered with ill intent and did their best to not just defeat the other, but to place them into the hospital. As the match went on, the ante was upped, and the timeless Broadway came close to a win only for Walt Callahan to interfere. Broadway would not be deterred, not by the Drifers thwarting his pins, not by Angulo's dangerous suplexes or deadly Wreckin Ball Knee, and resorted to an incredible avalanche oklahoma powerslam to finally score the pinfall. A match that came out of nowhere and easily stole the show. Felice Santana with the Santana Family(Felix Santana Jr. and Felix Santana III) vs. El Froggy Mask with The Trio (Rodeo Angel and the Mallard(MWWC)) With her father challenging in the future for the belt he previously dominated across the course of a decade, Felice Santana was utterly fearless as she took on one of the most dominant champs in all of pro wrestling in El Froggy Mask. Felice and Froggy went toe to toe, both covering every square inch across and above the ring as they made full use of their impressive capabilities. Incredibly, Felice was able to find an opening for the move dating back to her great grandfather, Roberto Santana, pinning El Froggy Mask with the spinning backslide Santana Special. A superb match with a shocking upset that could well shake up Froggy's mentality for his upcoming title defense facing Felix Santana Jr. Marshalls vs. Anti-Phibian Alliance Cassandra Marshall(AFW) with Lance and Terra Marshall vs. Poison Froggy Mask with Frog Buster(SWA) and El Hijo Del Sapo(Rose Garden) No doubt about it, the bad blood between the Marshalls and the Anti-Phibian Alliance has only gotten worse and this match did nothing to settle either team down. Cassandra Marshall utterly thrashed Poison Froggy Mask for seventeen minutes, finally pinning the venomous doppelganger after a corner stampede slam. Frog Buster and Hijo del Sapo showed their disapproval at ringside, and it may only have been the presence of the TIPWF Lone Star Hevavyweight champ and Terra Marshall at ringside that kept the two from jumping in. SWA Tag Championship Prove It Bout Renacimiento(Oliver Espadas and Leonardo Pascual)(SWA) vs. Green River Wrestling(Abednego Calhoun and Obadiah Calhoun with Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun) For the first time in a year, the vaunted tag champions of the SWA, Renacimiento made their return to official Office competition, with the SWA Tag Team Championship finding itself a new home in the TIPWF. The renaissance duo took on the challenge of the Calhoun Bros. in a dream match for fans of fast paced tag team action, and turned back their challenge, staying one step ahead most of the match, and demonstrating their incredible cohesion, with Espadas coordinating perfectly with Pascual, as the latter hit Obadiah Calhoun with an armdrag just as Espadas hit Abednego with a twisting complete shot. This gave Espadas time to get a surprise pinfall on Obadiah Calhoun, winning the match, and keeping their first SWA tag defense in the TIPWF open. Roland Chang Jr. with the New Roland Chang Trio(Roland Chang III, Annie Chang and Roland Chang Sr.) vs. Steve Phillips with the P.A.C.(Monica Tesfaye, "Showtime" Byron Worthy(Warrior Pro) and Kevin Fitsharris) Following a typical flurry of ill-advised public comments from Roland Chang Junior directed towards the arrival of the PAC in the TIPWf, Steve Phillips finally called the outspoken brawler out and this quality bout between two top veterans was the result. Chang's classical western style approach kept the Senator Emeritus on his toes, but in the end, it was the old standby, the Filibuster that would plant Chang into the mat for a three count, giving Phillips a win and the world an all-too-brief respite from Chang's jibes. Ricky Scott vs. Misterio Guerrero Every bit as good as it looked on paper, with constant bursts of impressive techniques from both hyper athletic competitors, until Ricky Scott was able to land a springboard Frankenstanford into a pin, giving the Rudo Army a solid win over the Tranquilo Revolution. Sun and Moon(Saur Oorja and Moonman) vs. The EWO(Vice Versa and Martina Martinez with Valentina Verda) Vice Versa's speed and Martina Martinez's questionable grappling tactics seemed to propel the Exotico World Order to an easy win, but Saur Oorja's efforts kept Sun and Moon in the game long enough for Moonman to hit his first significant moves of the match, a rolling Moon Valley Driver into a hip drop pin on Martinez. Colision vs. Drumstick(Wrestle Parade) An exciting opener that started things off with a fast paced burst of action, and while Colision certainly held her own, Drumstick was able not just keep pace with her high impact attack, but also turned things around with her own submissions, using a bridging double chickenwing hold for the win. --- Match of the Night: Angulo vs Broadway -Even if it wasn't even booked on the card to begin with, this ended up as the definitive best on the show, Broadway wrestling like a man half his age to beat the odds in a match that hit harder than anything else on the show. Performance of the Night: Felice Santana -A clean pin over El Froggy Mask is a rare commodity in the Office, and the timing couldn't have been better for the youngest star of the Santana family. --- Injury Report Gray Thomas - Broken Rib - Two Month Recovery Time -A powerbomb from John Smith took Gray Thomas out of his match and onto the injury report, having suffered a broken rib from the impact, putting him out for the rest of the year.

For the first time in over a year, the SWA World Heavyweight title returns to the Senatorial Office as domanant, long reigning champion, Laurence Holland defends against the Japanese Millionaire, Dai Fugo. The power struggle between Peak Performance and Worldwide Conquest intensifies further in the co-main with Ajax charging ahead with his faction against a Rumika Hashi led unit. In addition, the Destructive Alliance and GRANDEUR collide again, Mr. Moonsault continues his quest to redeem his career, the Goodfellas square off with the D-Train, SHINYSHINY91 unites to go up against White Hot and much more. Hey! What do you know!? Furis successfully stayed out of the way of Carla to allow her to win!! That's the best I can hope for him! 😁 I got to catch the actual full match. It looks like a real war!

[One Thumb Down] Look, I get it, combat sports fans and wrestling die-hards love themselves some brutality and carnage. And there are times where that sort of thing might even have its place. But there are liits to this sort of thing, and times where the violence gets in the way of the competition. This was one of those cases. L-Pro's generally a hard hitting show, but one that doesn't put a point of emphasis on reckless disregard for the opposition, and the matches actually suffered for it this time around. PEWA and UCSS fans might like this one, but for everyone else, just check the results and a highlight reel and that'll suffice. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Lightning Pro x Wacker Drive Revival - Lightning Strikes in Kyoto - 11-10-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, November 10th at the Kyoto Central Gymnasium in Kyoto, Japan Bonus Match Holly Randolph vs. Gemma Jo Butt with Jumbo Joseph Butt Mrs. Butt, Jumbo Joseph's wife and new manager in UCSS, Gemma Jo made a surprise wrestling debut for L-Pro in this bonus match, taking a rather bombastic approach to the bout, but against Holly Randolph, Gemma Jo found her power and her off-kilter style neutralized by the Human Resources Specialist's by the book approach, and a rollup pin would win the match for Randolph. Main Event: SWA World Heavyweight Championship Bout Laurence Holland(C)(SWA) with Dag Boomer(SWA) vs. Dai Fugo(SWA) with Fuji Akatsuki(SWA) The long, long awaited meeting between Holland and Fugo took over a year in the making since Dai Fugo beat Alex Thompson, Mask Legend and Red Dragon at Golden Touch #20 back at Golden Touch #20 on April 22nd of 2022. In the interim, the SWA and the Senatorial Office halted their partnership, the SWA went through a restructuring, fought to maintain its status and now, with a renewed partnership, the match finally was able to take place. Laurence Holland, once seen as nothing more than a tag wrestler, and the clear number two in the Thunder Devils behind Dag Boomer, has been the best champion in at least half a decade for the SWA, and showed absolutely no rust here as he made short work of the Japanese Millionaire, landing a Thunder Crash northern lights bomb on the floor and another one in the ring to pin Fugo to complete the title defense. The L-Pro roster is now on notice, as Holland made a clear statement that he will not easily drop his belt upon its reactivation. Power Struggle Peak Performance(Ajax, Dexa Jain and Daniel Ness) vs. Worldwide Conquest(Rumika Hashi, Nishimura Endo and Stakhonovite Warrior with Maximilian Francesco De La Cruz) A good co-main that made good use of all participants, but that was overshadowed by the violent finish, as Stakhonovite Warrior hit his military press powerslam, the Ironhammer on Dexa Jain, knocking her straight out to give Worldwide Conquest the momentum back in their feud with Peak Performance. Mr. Moonsault with Lord Senton(Blue Thunder Pro) vs. Yetunde Oya with Bemba's Royal Court(Esther Musambi and King Bemba) Mr. Moonsault put any doubts to rest if he was fully back in form, once again closing out against Yetunde Oya by means of stoppage, his trademark moonsault press acting as the weapon of choice. Oya, as usual, got up after the ring was cleared, but for once, it seemed as if the Vodou Priestess was lacking her typical nonchalant reaction to her defeat, shaking her head and favoring her side as she hobbled to the back, angerly waving off the medical staff in the process. The Goodfellas(Tony the Rod and Eddie the Wire) with the Syndicate(Lucretia DeCalvacante and Mr. Cobra) vs. The D-Team(D-Man Daunte Thomas and Freight Train McMichaelson with Leilani Auerbach and Astrid Johannson) Utterly brutal destruction of the D-Train portion of the D-Team by one of the greatest teams in Office history. The Goodfellas utterly annihilated their foes, Tony the Rod knocking out Daunte Thomas with his Rod Smasher inverted ddt, but the D-Man was not the legal competitor and Eddie the Wire sealed the deal with his deadly Wire Cutter on the Freight Train, knocking him out, too. Thirty years in, and the Goodfellas are as ruthlessly efficient as any team in the history of the business, the ever-reliable core of the dominant Syndicate, even as they draw the ire of the fans, their results, as usual, speak for themselves. Kyle Anderson(Phoenix Rising) with Mallory Spaulding(Phoenix Rising) vs. Kosuke "Choppu" Arai with Innocent Mugisha and Takayuki Ueda Disregard the dubious 59% rating from the Ring Beholder(Word has it that Dave Doolittle assigned part of this show to an understudy who was admonished for taking Doolittle's anti-seconds policy a bit too far.) as this was clearly the best match of the night, as expected. Choppu Arai and Five Star Kyle are as trustworthy a pair of performers as you can find, and they delivered once again here, putting on a well-paced bout that culminated in a croyt's style german suplex hold winning the match for Anderson. Not the longest, or most intense match either has seen as of late, but a solid, entertaining one that left people wanting more. Aishwarya Dhawan vs. Bebop Tiger Forget the win by rollup pin, this was an absolute exhibition in spine shortening suplexes by the Bebop Tiger, who utterly crushed Aishwarya Dhawan here, backdropping her on her head, into the corner, only letting up to land the aformentioned counter rollup. Not competitive in the slightest until the last few minutes. SHINYSHINY91(Reimi Makabe, Alice Yanagisawa and Akari Ikari) vs. White Hot(Rei Hasegawa, Keiko Maeda(Phoenix Rising) and Yuki Okamura) A back and forth match that went a bit longer than White Hot would have liked, and they made sure to take their frustration out on Alice Yanagisawa with Yuki Okamura slamming her down with her high crotch powerslam, the Punishmen Slam. In spite of the mess, this was a great showing for Akari Ikari, who showed her impressive mat skills and Yanagisawa's personality at least was able to shine. Diego Santana vs. Rimi Kondo with Francesco Hirose Well-earned win for Diego Santana, who finally turns his record around in his current L-Pro run, but Rimi Kondo showed top tier toughness in the duration, surviving multiple submissions and kicking out over and over again before a Flash Fire diving cutter scored the pinfall for Santana. Preliminary Main Event The Destructive Duo(Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto) with G.P. Christopher and Yuriko Masamune vs. Botswanan Bombers(FENYANG and Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan)) with GRANDEUR(Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi and Psycho Witch(ZIP Japan)) Preliminary Main Event once again lived up to GPC's intended billing, going over forty minutes before Thunder Fist could steal Wrecker Yamamoto's own Trash Compactor air raid neckbreaker to get the pin. A much needed win for GRANDUR in their quest to ascend to the upper echelon of L-Pro's factions. --- Match of the Night: Arai vs. Anderson -A night without any true standout match elevated this otherwise routine bout(by the high standard of its two participants) to the clear MOTN. Performance of the Night: Laurence Holland, Botswanan Bombers -Laurence Holland's easy defense of the SWA Heavyweight title was deserving here, and significant enough to demand an award but FENYANG and Thunder Fist had the more impressive victory overall by beating the Destructive Duo clean. --- Injury Report (here we go) Alice Yanagisawa - Bruised Tailbone (One Month Medical Suspension) -Slammed down hard, Yanagisawa will miss just a month of action to recover as she only suffered a bruised backside. Daunte Thomas - Mild Concussion (Two Month Medical Suspension) -A Rod Smasher inverted DDT put the D-Man on the shelf, with the only good news being that it could have been worse. Freight Train McMichaelson - Moderate Concussion (Three Month Medical Suspension) -The Train was derailed with a Wire Cutter and it seems that he will take a bit more time to get back to the ring than Thomas will. Yetunde Oya - N/A (No Medical Suspension) -Moonsaulted by Marcus Xavier, Oya refused treatment as usual, but appeared to be in less than good condition as she exited the arena. Dexa Jain - Broken Ribs (Two Month Medical Suspension) A huge Ironhammer powerslam from the hulking Stakhonovite Warrior put Jain down for good, and it seems that she may be out for some time to get back in the ring, leaving a massive hole in Peak Performance in the duration.

As the Big Banter Brand's shot at the UCSS Openweight Championship has evaporated, Rory Banner takes one last shot at changing the landscape as he sends his hired weapon, the Burmese Lethwei Deathmatch Machine, Zin Win Aye after the top contender for the title, the unbreakable Kyokushin warrior from Cameroon, Lanna Ndi. The champion, Hakim Fields teams again with the Sweet Science Society to go up against the hard hitting Infamous faction, and multiple bouts highlight the burgeoning UCSS tag division with an American Apex-Limbtakers singles encounter, a battle between Catch Club Canada and Keni No Aru with added SWA Prestige belt implications and much more.
