[Two Thumbs Down]
By default, I had no other choice. When you have a main event unable to take place due to technical failures and even the penultimate attraction was cut short for the same reason, that's a disaster of a show. Sure, what came before was...fine. Phillips-Furis was an entertaining match, the Maniac's title defense punched above its weight, Cleaver-Form was outright excellent if you like mindless bloody brawls and the team matches didn't offend. But we saw far too much of MobleyMaxx(any MobleyMaxx is too much), and losing out on one of the most anticipated matches of the year was downright inexcusable. Get your act together, Senatorial Office.

PEWA Horror of Hardcore 2024 - 10-25-2024
8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, October 25th at the Halcyon Ballroom in Philadelphia, PA
Main Event: The Insanitarium
Moustapha Ndour vs. The Headhunter
Unfortunately, this match never saw a true conclusion as while Headhunter stole Ndour's head on multiple occasions and the Warbringer used his own potent offense to keep his foe at bay, technical issues started rearing their ugly head and the stream suddenly cut off without warning. It was said the lights went out after that in the Halcyon and the event was brought to a premature conclusion, without this match having its own ending or the New Mutants - Bingo Hall Mutants tag title bout taking place. As such, this was a main event by default and an unmitigated disaster, too.
PEWA Ruler of the Road Championship Bout
Masked Maniac IV(C) with Jasper Rhys(Neutral Ground) vs. Tomas the Tiny Giant
The last full match of the night saw the best performance to date from the Masked Maniac IV, who took Tomas's best moves for a long match, continuing to press the Tiny Giant for the duration until landing his slide through Maniac DDT to win by knockout, surprisingly able to maintain his unlikely reign with the Ruler of the Road and undoubtedly gaining some respect from his peers in the locker room.
Blood Politics
Jakob of Furis(OG-FPD) vs. Steve Phillips(Freelance)
Great match that saw Steve Phillips throw a wide range of moves at Furis for two thirds of the match, but the vampiric legend turned the tides in the final third, eventually spiking the former politician down with a thumb thrust chokeslam to claim the pin.
The House of Hammer(Sir Vladimir Henry and Heidi Karnstein) vs. The Amicable Duo(Victor Van Banning and Carla D'Antoni)
A decent installment in the endless feud between Henry and Van Banning, this time with Heidi Karnstein claiming a win for the House of Hammer after a surprisingly technical conclusion, pinning Carla D'Antoni with a takedown into a grounded inside cradle pin.
Crystal Lake Killoff
Cleaver(Rose Garden) vs. The Form
Unquestionably the best match of the night, a modern hardcore classic, a certified Dave Doolittle Hundo and a match worthy of Jason Voorhees, with Cleaver and The Form engaging in a hard headed, blood drenched war, unfazed by the ten minute explosion, by each other's arsenal of moves, by the weapons strewn about the ring or the barbed wire surrounding it. After twenty minutes in, with both having thrown everything they had at the other, Cleaver was finally able to hit one last air raid crash on the Form to pin her for the three count and win the Crystal Lake Killoff.
Crew Carnage
Hideo Kawabata(Realm of Wrestling) and Pay Day Enterprise(Sylvain "Pay Day" Mint, Hindu Sheik and Shrieking Sheik) vs. PEWA's Most Hated(Backyard Pyro, "Party Animal" Jeremy Wylde, Jeffrey Janson and Itzcoatl Hernandez)
A late switch put Itzcoatl Hernandez in for Zanca. Sylvain Mint pinned Jeremy Wylde after a diving turn splash for the first elimination, only to himself be pinned by a rollup from Jeffrey Janson to even the numbers. Interference from Wylde would stop multiple pins, while Hernandez hit a top rope huracanrana on Hindu Sheik to the floor. The Hindu Sheik would eventually pin Janson after a Hindu Bomb to Hernandez, with the Shrieking Sheik pulling Janson out for his counterpart to pin. Surprisingly, the Aztec Executioner would manage to roll up Kawabata subsequently. Shrieking Sheik did not allow this to go unanswered, hitting a Shrieking Elbow drop on Backyard Pyro to bring the PEWA's Most Hated to one last member as the time ran out.
Deathmatch Livestream
The X-Treme Kid vs. MobleyMaxx(Freelance)
Far, far too long of a match for what it was, with the X-Treme Kid possibly toying around with his foe to earn some payback for their prior association when MobleyMaxx spent a brief spell in the XTK's backyard promotion until his antics earned him an early exit. Either that, or MobleyMaxx is considerably more durable than one would have expected. Eventually, though, after twenty minutes in this barbed wire landmine match, the XTK would hit his Spicy Stunner for the three count, thankfully beating the Kick nuisance streamer.
Bonus Match: Holdsman's Challenge
Headless Holdsman(Butterfloor) vs. Bath Salts Zombie
A surprise showing from the infamous Headless Holdsman, and a brief, but intense brawl in and out of the ring with the Bath Salts Zombie that saw the Holdsman submit the Zombie with a cross arm camel clutch.
Pretty Pirates GALeon Second Chapter(La Corsaria(Phoenix Rising) and Warsan Caaliah Ali) and Ghost of a Chance(Seiko Kankyako(Typhoon Pro) and Yamikuro(Triple Plus)) vs. NBNF(Emerald Santiago, "Total MDK" Taylor Ngyuen, Gray Thomas and DUDE Smith)
The Pirates and Ghosts were on another level in this match, outworking NBNF with a wide array of antics until Yamikuro knocked DUDE Smith out with a Thrust of Vengeance iron spike to the throat and planted Gray Thomas with a chokeslam for the pin.
Night of the Demon
Demon Otsu(ZIP Japan) vs. Abominog II(TIPWF)
A quick lesson to the world that Demon Otsu remains the preeminent red hued hellspawn in pro wrestling, soundly defeating Abominog II with a toss up jumping bomb pin in just under nine minutes.
---
Match of the Night: Cleaver vs. The Form
-One of the better matches of the year in the Office, and one that almost made up for the terrible issues that ended the show early. Cleaver and The Form both brought their a-games and the result was a bloody spectacle and a true classic.
Performance of the Night: Masked Maniac IV
-A knockout win over Tomas in a match that left no question about his ability to go head to head with a former champ made the Maniac the clear choice here.
---
Injury Report
DUDE Smith: Bruised Windpipe (No Medical Suspension)
-An iron spike to the throat incapacitated DUDE, but did not leave any lasting injury.
Tomas the Tiny Giant: Mild Concussion (Two Month Medical Suspension)
-Maniac IV's Maniac DDT knocked Tomas out and will keep the Tiny Giant on the bench for the rest of 2024, but thankfully did not do the damage that he once inflicted on Young Blood with a similar DDT finish.
