[Two Thumbs Up] Overall, you have to understand that this was an extremely flawed show. There were multiple matches that simply didn't deliver what you'd want to see out of them. But things moved along at a brisk pace, and from the D-Team match on, you really couldn't complain. The real motivator for the two thumbs, though, would be the Alizadeh-Tarkhan match, a bout that could have set the all time standard for a proper hossfest. This match alone carries this show to a can't miss status, and it didn't hurt that we had a good main event, an entertaining pair of matches in the Beat the Clock Challenge, and shun me if you want, but I find the woeful singles exploits of Mallory Spaulding to be morbidly entertaining in a way that probably says some things about me that I'd rather not examine. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Lightning Pro x Wacker Drive Revival x UCSS: Road to Mid-Year Lariats - 7-29-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, July 29th at Wacker Drive Revival in Chicago, IL Bonus Match King Bemba vs. Count Savage The King had no patience whatsoever with Count Savage and ruthlessly slammed him around before finishing with the Royal Annihilation double bomb death valley bomb combination. Main Event Red Alert(Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) and Aoife Daley) and the P.A.C.(Steve Phillips and Byron Worthy(Warrior Pro)) vs. American Apex(Lamont Aldren and Keith Van Horne)(Wrestle Parade) and Technical Ecstasy(Ibrahim Rahman and Blair Taylor) A fun main event that saw ample action from all eight participants and some stunning new attire from the Victorious Medal holder, Ibrahim Rahman. Unfortunately for the Tunisian Nomad, that would not save him from a massive spear from Byron Worthy, who proclaimed "Winning Time" for the PAC and Red Alert as he pinned the champ. A rare occasion for Steve Phillips to team with his significant other, Aoife Daley, and the two unsurprisingly worked as a well-oiled machine when they had a chance. Beat the Clock Challenge Hakim Fields vs. Neil Hakim Fields arrived in this match in casual wear, and did not seem in much of a hurry to beat Virgil de Boer's time, and even ended up fighting Neil outside at a critical juncture in the match, before re-entering and landing a vicious flurry of punches and a soccer kick out of sprawl to get the win at 9:46. The champ may have lost the Challenge, but it seems likely that he stalled out to prove some sort of a point. Beat the Clock Challenge Virgil de Boer vs. Jeff A routine showing in the ring for de Boer, cleaning Jeff's clock with a swinging elbow to the back of the head to produce a 9:37 knockout win. "Fistic Deity" Larry Washington(Realm of Wrestling) with Jumbo Joseph Butt and Ricky "Violence" Valdez vs. Zin Win Aye with "Big Banter" Rory Banner and Sanem Becker A triumphant showing for Larry Washington, who took some of Zin Win Aye's best shots and most devious tactics before dropping him with a big right hand to earn the pin. UCSS Rules Ayako Miyamoto with Kaede Kinoshita vs. Mallory Spaulding(Phoenix Rising) with Kyle Anderson(Phoenix Rising) Mallory Spaulding cannot catch a break in singles competition. Somehow, Ayako Miyamoto was able to unleash absolute fury in this match, connecting with nearly every single attempt from the back, ragdolling her larger opponent with german after german after german from behind, and while Spaulding was able to land a few impressive suplexes of her own, Miyamoto was able to emerge victorious with her Perfect German Suplex hold in the third round. Utterly inexplicable performance, again, from Spaulding, who seemed to have absolutely no defense whatsoever, and many are speculating that she intentionally sandbagged this one to keep the powder dry for Pure Gold's Tag Medal challenge. Powerhouse Battle Walid Alizadeh vs. Tarkhan the Mangler An utterly exceptional match that overdelivered on lofty promises. Alizadeh and the Mangler put on an absolute MOTY contender that could end up on the shortlist for all time Office matches. This match came close to a half hour, but the time passed in a blink of an eye. Tarkhan took the early lead, hitting his dreaded Mongolian Muscle Buster and putting Alizadeh on his back foot. From there, the Mangler unleashed nearly the entirety of his moves on the Iranian expatriate, battering him from corner to corner and countering any attempts on the mat. However, at no point was Tarkhan able to close out, and eventually as both men began to push the limits of their stamina, Alizadeh was able to begin an inspiring comeback. Again and again, he hit big moves, only for Tarkhan to either bounce back up to his feet, or find himself unable to capitalize due to fatigue setting in. And yet, both men continued to dig deep, throwing big bombs until Alizadeh was finally able to throw his foe to the mat and hook in a cradle pin to score an incredible pinfall victory. Following the match, Alizadeh was heard to shout "Walid Number One!, Iran Number One! Iron Shiek Number One Forever!" before dropping to his knees as the fans wildly cheered his grandiose efforts. Before he could get up and return to the back, Tarkhan seemed to have a number of words, and rumor has it that some of those involved a possible invite to the already-stacked Worldwide Conquest faction. An incredible match the ramifications of which may reverberate long after the dust settles. The D-Team(Leilani Auerbach and Astrid Johannson with D-Man Daunte Thomas and Freight Train Mcmichaelson) vs. Bemba's Royal Court(Yetunde Oya and Esther Musambi with Mr. Moonsault) The D-Team looked better than ever on this night with Johannson and Auerbach outclassing their veteran foes, with Leilani Auerbach hitting multiple lionsaults before pinning Yetunde Oya with a vertical rotation over the back Skyline Final Dunk bomb. Marcus Xavier looked utterly defeated after the match, wordlessly stomping to the back, shaking his head. Phil Mercury with Valerie May, Innocent Mugisha and Kousuke "Choppu" Arai vs. Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) with Natsumi Komatsubaru(Realm of Wrestling) and Daisuke Ogomori(Realm of Wrestling) Not even close, Phil Mercury was never able to even begin to keep pace with the brilliant Dirk Van Buren. The Realm of Wrestling ace unleashed an endless barrage of high speed submissions culminating in a flying triangle choke to clinch the win. Francesco Hirose and Rimi Kondo vs. Marija Pulev and Lula Bufona Dominating win for the mismatched shooters who took control with ease and never let up. Pulev forced the TKO stoppage with a side back mount flurry on Hirose. Preliminary Main Event Kaito Arai(Sakura Pro) with G.P. Christopher and Reimi Makabe vs. Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi with Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan), Wataru Nakajima(ZIP Japan) and FENYANG While the Emerald Emperor got off to a solid start, repeatedly dropping Mehrmohammdi on his head, the Nigerian Prince would hold on and capitalize on a number of unfortunate errors, eventually landing his Air Nigeria diving elbow to score the comeback pin. Of note here, Mehrmohammdi brought a formidable team of the Botswanan Bombers and Storm of the Century members to ringside, looking to bring about a new alliance in L-Pro and it seems to have worked well thus far. --- Match of the Night: Tarkhan vs. Walid -Zero question about it. This was not just the MOTN, this could well end up being MOTY. A spectacular slugfest that had incredible drama and elevated both men to a lofty height. Performer of the Night: Walid Alizadeh -Honorable mention to Byron Worthy and Virgil de Boer, but Walid Alizadeh's inspiring, heartfelt comeback against Tarkhan is one for the ages.

Finally! The biggest match in Office history headlines this gargantuan two night main event, with a majority of the Office's championships on the line, a plethora of big grudge matches and some of the biggest guests in the sport. Catch all the action starting with the first night on Thursday, culminating on Night Two on Friday! Mid-Year Lariats and Legislators 2023: The Mythical Matchup Night 2 - 8-4-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, August 4th at the Will Rogers Entertainment Center in Washington DC Main Event: Senatorial Office Number One Ranking Bout Ajax(C) vs. N9NE It is not underselling this match to proclaim it to be the single biggest bout in Senatorial Office history. The two most feared titans in the industry over the last decade finally meet. Ajax, having made a shocking return to action immediately ascended to the top of the Office when he did so. Now, the man known as N9NE finally re-emerges after over half a decade away from the game, bringing together the most significant dream match that the Critical Alliance may ever have seen. Two of the biggest powerhouses meet here, with the winner walking away with the most important prize the Office has to offer; the vaunted Number One Ranking.
PEWA Extreme Championship Bout Hideo Kawabata(Realm of Wrestling)(C) vs. Moustapha Ndour One of the biggest surprises of the last twelve months has been the incredible PEWA run of Hideo Kawabata. The Realm of Wrestling export arrived in Philadelphia putting on classic after classic, defeating the great Hindu Sheik in on of the best matches the promotion has ever seen to earn the PEWA Extreme title, and has been completely embraced by locker room and fanbase alike as a modern day hardcore icon, seemingly close to invincible in big match situations. However, if anyone has anything to say about that, it might be the Warbringer, Moustapha Ndour. The Senegalese super prospect has experienced as good of a run as anyone in the business since arriving in the PEWA, with his Warbringers team alongside the Rose Garden's Demarcus Browning taking both men to another level. Now, Ndour will look to make the next step up to become the absolute ace of the PEWA, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jack Fury and Luke Powers in representing the company at the highest level. The smart money is on this match stealing the show with the abilities of both challenger and champion.
Lightning Pro Victorious Medal Championship Bout Ibrahim Rahman(C) vs. Steve Phillips Two of the greatest pure grapplers in Office history will finally meet with a hefty prize on the line as the Senator Emeritus, Steve Phillips takes on the Tunisan Nomad, Ibrahim Rahman in a bout for the Victorious Medal. Rahman has repeatedly proven himself to be a grappler of unparalleled skill, eventually defeating the ever-impressive Fresh Fuji to claim the prize. Phillips, always looking for a route back to glory, orchestrated an unlikely win over the leader of Worldwide Conquest, ALEXANDER, rolling him up to earn his shot at the Medal. For fans of the art of the sport, there may be no match more anticipated than this one in the entire two nights of Lariats.
---
Ibrahim Rahman: I am most pleased to defend this Medal against you, former Senator Phillips.
Steve Phillips: Allow me to return the sentiment, as one of my strongest motivators for fighting my way to this opportunity was the knowledge that I would be able to pit my skills against your own sublime abilities.
Rahman: You always supported me when I needed it. When I could barely speak English, you provided your help. You offered your help when I wished to leave the contract of Midas, you understood my wishes to wrestle the best, without the politics. All apologies to your former position.
Phillips: While I may have been more than amenable to issuing my assistance, I rarely found the necessity to do so. Time and time again, I witnessed your remarkable resilience as you endured the indignities Mr. Matthews issued. I saw you overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to remove yourself from his nefarious grasp. You possess an enviable array of accomplishments and much to be proud of. That said, make no mistake at all. I do not intend to enter this match with any intention other than complete and absolute victory.
Rahman: You may try. It would not be respectful if you did not. But I am better than I have ever been. You will see this. I have learned from my experiences.
Phillips: I do not doubt so. While the punditry may only see you as a mono-dimensional grappler, they discount your potent, if unorthodox striking, and they certainly overlook that your steadfast determination has cultivated what I can only describe as a mean streak. I do not see this only as a sterile sparring match on the mats. This will be a fight, a battle executed at the highest levels of technique. You may be the best technician in the game. I would not doubt such a claim. But this is more than an amateur contest. Let us demonstrate the true, complete combat art of professional wrestling.
Rahman: Mr. Phillips, you know the strength of my respect. But you also will know the strength of my resolve in the ring. I will not fight you like a friend. I will see you as the enemy that is trying to take what is mine. Like encountering the thief in the night, I will use everything I know to stop you. If I must humiliate you with a flash pin, that is how it must be. If I must inflict Nomadic Retribution upon you, I will do that without thinking. There will be no mercy.
Phillips: Ibrahim, I do not doubt that you will stop at nothing within your capacity, but I also yet implore you to remember that when you do step inside the squared circle with yours truly, you will look across at the newsmaker, headline breaker, office taker, world shaker, the roughest, toughest, most intelligent son of a gun ever to lace up a pair of boots, you will find yourself engaged in pitched battle with the once, and perhaps future Senator Steve Phillips, and that, my friend, is nothing...but the truth.
TIPWF Lone Star Heavyweight Title Bout El Hijo del Sapo(Rose Garden)(C) vs. Lance Marshall(Phoenix Rising) Both Hijo del Sapo and Marshall have made a major impact in their guest showings in the TIPWF. El Hijo de Sapo won an eight person royale to earn a shot at Jean-Pierre Mutombo and defeated the African Supersensation to claim the TIPWF Lone Star Heavyweight title, the first ever Rose Garden member to hold the belt. In the meantime, Lance Marshall made a number of important visits in thwarting Commssioner Callahan and the High Plains Drifters as they attempted to throw their weight around, eventually beating Callahan himself inside a cage. Now, the two outside stars will face off with the pride of the TIPWF on the line in what promises to be a high energy showcase for the evening.
UCSS Openweight Championship Bout Hakim Fields(C) vs. Virgil de Boer Since winning the UCSS Openweight belt on his debut in 2021, Hakim Fields has been the centerpiece of the organization, even ascending to become the Number One Ranked star of the Office itself. A unification bout with Dangerous Nicholas Alger re-merged his belt with the interim belt created while Fields was representing the Office as a whole, and now Fields will again defend his unified Openweight title again. This time, it will be the Muay Thai Enforcer of the Big Banter Brand, Virgil de Boer who will earn the opportunity. De Boer knocked out the great Andronicus Turner in a title eliminator, and looks to be in the best shape yet in his UCSS career as he steps up for the challenge.
---
"Big Banter" Rory Banner: For too long, the dubious, unfortunate shite show that is Universal Combat Shoot Style has been mismanaged into absolute disrepair. The best have not faced the best, and we have even seen that incompetent muppet, Alger wrap a piece of pyrite around his waist and call himself a champion. Now, however, the cream will rise to the top, no matter how hard this administration has tried to keep it down. The best cannot be hidden forever, and we will see this fact proven in action. Virgil de Boer is the single best pure striker in all of combat sports. He has mastered the art of eight points and there is nobody more adept at inflicting concussive damage without remorse. Hakim Fields has been a paper tiger, a man running on fumes. You saw this in last week's Beat the Clock Challenge, where Virgil entirely outclassed his performance. Fields had his moment in the sun, but Father Time is undefeated, and he is just too old to withstand the brutality that Virgil will unleash. Mark me on these words, the Big Banter Brand will be back on top in 2023, and Virgil de Boer will be UCSS's worst nightmare!
---
Hakim Fields: Story of my life, time and time again, I gotta prove people wrong. Young gun's been running his mouth again, and while I should know better, I still feel like I got to respond. Banner, you want to hype up your boy, that's all good and fine, I get it, that's your gig. Virgil de Boer's a bad man, and I'm not taking him lightly. This is a cat who can bash my head in with one good shot if I give him the chance, and I know I'm going to be on top of my game if I'm walking out of there at Lariats. But man, Banner, you just had to go talk your bullshit. Calling me old, saying I got myself outclassed, calls me a "paper tiger." Look, I spent years behind bars, and people called me things there that you'd get your ass blacklisted for if you said them in front of a camera. I shouldn't give a damn about your words, heard worse, said worse. But the way I see it, now that you've gone down that road, I got no choice. I gotta wreck your guy out there now, Banner. I gotta make a point. It's not just him versus me now, it's me having to make sure everyone remembers why you don't write any checks your crew can't cash. The way the 52 Blocks works, it's all about defense first...but what people sometimes forget, is that once I neutralize your stuff, then that puts me in a place to put a world of hurt on you. Virgil, I hope you're ready for that. Banner, just remember, what happens out there, you own a share of that, too.
UCSS Tag Team Title Bout Red Alert(Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) and Aoife Daley)(C) vs. American Apex(Keith Van Horne and Lamont Aldren)(Wrestle Parade) Both Leona Sterling and Aoife Daley have let gold slip through their grasp for years in UCSS, but with a recent win over the Shaolin Superstars, Red Alert finally managed to open up their trophy cases in the promotion. Their reign may be short lived, however, as Red Alert look to take on a pair of former champions themselves with American Apex returning to challenge again for the UCSS Tag titles. The beloved Guts and Glory stars, Keith Van Horne and Lamont Aldren earned their way back by defeating another guest team, the SWA's MATWORK in an exciting tag encounter, and there may be nobody better at effectively showcasing the grappling arts in an asthetically pleasing fashion than American Apex. While both Sterling and Daley are superb submission artists, this one is mostly a battle between strikers and grapplers.
TIPWF Commissionership Contest: Steel Stockade Match Commissioner Walt Callahan vs. Cowboy Johnston Perhaps the toughest job in the Senatorial Office over the past five years or so has been the Commissionership of the TIPWF. For years, Walt Callahan navigated a difficult path for integrating Santana Family Wrestling and combatively fended off repeated attempts from Morgan Matthews at drawing away his promotion's prestige, championships and talent to the Golden Touch orbit. Over this time, the already-cantankerous Callahan became ever more embittered and cynical, pushing the TIPWF to seek excellence, but doing so in ways that many fans and pundits questioned. Eventually, with the hiring of Boss Ross Foreman and some rather dubious actions from Callahan's High Plains Drifters faction, the good will of the TIPWF fans had run out. Following an explosive feud with AFW star, Lance Marshall, the great former standout from the Cogburn Ranch, the first ace of the Office, Cowboy Johnston made his return to challenge Callahan for his position. With a recent match allowing Callahan to determine the rules, Johnston's long-awaited, temporary return to the ring will take place in the Steel Stockade, an environment that previously allowed the Commissioner to give a good fight to Lance Marshall.
---
Cowboy Johnston: Ah cain't believe ah got another match in mahself, but here ah am! One more time out there an' ah'm gonna show ol' Walt why he ain't the man with the plan no more around these here parts! Hailey's made sure ah'm in good shape here an' Duke's pushed me hard tah git back t' where ah should be, ringwise. Ah ain't even drinkin' any Lone Star for a few weeks! So yeah, ah'm gonna go out there an' once the dust settles, there's gonna be a new sheriff in this here town!
---
Walt Callahan: Cowboy thinks this is going to be a walk in the park, doesn't he? I get why he does. But I don't want to hear everyone cry when it's all said and done and Johnston goes back to his wife and his son and I'm still standing here. But maybe it's time for fresh blood in this Commissioner's chair. Maybe I've been taking things too far lately, let all my wars with Midas push me over the edge. It's possible. Even if that's the case, though, I'll step down when I see fit. Way I see it, I've still got a lot of stuff to do yet. And one of those things on my list, is to exit that cage, still the Commssioner, still in charge. I think that's a good goal to set.
Preliminary Main Event: The Loop Championship Bout The Syndicate(Mr. Cobra(SWA), Lucretia DeCavalcante, Eddie the Wire and Tony the Rod) vs. The Destructive Duo(Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto), G.P. Christopher and Yuriko Masamune The most dominant team in Office history, partly due to their intelligent, gutsy performances, and partly due to their relentless manipulation of the rules surrounding The Loop, Lucretia DeCavalcante's Syndicate have been nearly unstoppable in their self-mandated four on four, forty-five minute elimination tag matches. This time, the Syndicate will defend The Loop against a team of some of L-Pro's most storied competitors, G.P. Christopher, the Destructive Duo and Yuriko Masamune, a matchup that could prove to be the toughest to date for DeCavalcante's crew.
---
G.P. Christopher: The Syndicate think they got it made here, but they haven't faced the King of the Openers in the Preliminary Main Event to defend The Loop. And if that wasn't bad enough...
Crusher Honda: They get the Duo! We'll break their skulls and eat their brains!
Wrecker Yamamoto: They will sleep with fish!
GPC: (Translated from Japanese)<Eh, Honoka, you didn't quite get that one right...really?> It's sleep with *the fishes*, not "sleep with fish!" Close, but no cigar, Wrecker, you still got a lot to learn with your English, lady!
Yuriko Masamune: <We can laugh now, but I am deadly serious concerning this match. The Syndicate have twisted the rules too long! It is time that we turn things back around and depose them from their reign! They have decades of experience, but so do we. They will stop at nothing, and so will we. But what we have that they do not, is pure, unstoppable force! They will not withstand the Destructive Duo! They will not overcome the Ronin of Destiny! And I promise, if I can clamp on the STF...they will not escape Yuriko Masamune.>
---
Lucretia DeCavalcante: Time and time again, everyone thinks they can be the ones who take us down. They see how close some of our matches have been. They see the glimmering prize we hold, and they think they can take it for themselves. But every single time, they always fall short.
Eddie the Wire: Always.
Lucretia: We do not approach this like everyone else does. They all see this as a game, as test, an athletic adventure, as entertainment for the masses, a path to riches. We? You know how we treat this.
Tony the Rod: It's simply business for the Syndicate.
Lucretia: We don't make the mistakes they make, since we're not approaching this like everyeone else. We just see each match as another deal to close out on.
Mr. Cobra: And we are blessed to be able to know exactly how to do that, every single time.
Lucretia: The Destructive Duo have their reputation, Christopher has his reputation, Masamune, hers. But we've done it all, we've seen it all, and this match?
The Rod: It's business, plain and simple.
--- Mid-Year Lariats and Legislators 2023: The Mythical Matchup Night 1 - 8-3-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Thursday, August 3rd at the Beltway Hippodrome in Washington, DC Main Event: Lightning Pro Victorious Tag Medal Championship Bout Star Perfect(Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto)(C) vs. Pure Gold(Mallory Spaulding and "Five Star" Kyle Anderson)(Phoenix Rising) The first night of Mid Year Lariats concludes with a high profile match for the Victorious Tag Medals. This is far from just a sporting contest as both Star Perfect and Pure Gold have butted heads repeatedly over the year. Ayako Miyamoto most recently ran through Mallory Spaulding with ease in a singles match, but as many have remarked, a tag match is a drastically different environment for Spaulding, where her strange mental hangups generally do not come into play. Pure Gold have a sizable experience edge and a large size advantage, while Kaede Kinoshita may have the biggest wins of anyone in either team, with her prior singles run with the Victorious Medal.
Settling the Feud Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Titas Butkus Jean-Pierre Mutombo and Titas Butkus were once good friends. Mutombo introduced Butkus to the Office and managed to push management to allow him to debut in a match with the Number One Ranking on the line, allowing Butkus to make an incredible first impression upon the organization. However, over time, the connection between the two became bitter and broken, as Butkus's aura of invincibility wore off and his frustration set in, the Lithuanian Bull ended up taking out on his former friend. As the two have butted heads over a portion of 2023, now JPM and Titas will settle their feud at Lariats with one big match to end it all. As an added note, Mutombo has made a number of comments about potentially going into acting and there are persistent rumors bouncing around that should he lose this match, he could possibly leave the Office as well.
---
Jean-Pierre Mutombo: Greetings and salutations, my friends and followers! It is I, Jean-Pierre, and I am very happy to speak with you on this wondreful day! Because it is now that I will finally squash the beef, and beat the Bull! Mr. Titas is someone I once very much liked and respected! But he has lost all of his good will and all of his senses! He blames me for his problems and not himself for his own defeats! I find that to be very sad and very disappointing and I will not stand by and let him use me as his scapegoat! At Lariats, this will be the end of this! I plan to win, and to remind Mr. Titas who he should see himself to be! But if I do not...I know that it is true that many people have heard that I do not see professional wrestling as the only way to inspire all of my wonderful fans. I will make no promises what I will do after Lariats! But we will see!
Family Feud "Textbook" Tim Dwight and Della Dwight vs. Dangerous Nicholas Alger and Ruthless Nicole Alger When Della Dwight scored a pair of back to back unlikely upset victories in UCSS over the heralded guest, Dirk Van Buren, UCSS Commisisoner Dangerous Nicholas Alger ended up giving her a third match for the night, against the knockout artist, Andronicus Turner, which led to her eventual KO defeat. Irked by his daughter's treatment, legendary trainer "Textbook" Tim Dwight made an outspoken series of comments in the media, leading to a challenge between the two fighting families. Dwight, retired from the business for a number of years, trained himself back into shape, while the elder Alger has remained a high level competitor in UCSS, having held an interim title recently. Now, fathers and daughters will do battle, with the Dwight family and the Alger family meeting in tag action.
---
"Textbook" Tim Dwight: I don't see why Commissioner Alger felt the need to punish Della for taking advantage of the scouting reports on her opponent. Dirk Van Buren has only improved himself since those defeats and has become a better wrestler because he had to re-evaluate himself. I highly doubt the Realm of Wrestling demanded she be thrown to the wolves for an excessive third match in the night. So as it is, Della and I will get to settle our complaints the only way we see fit: in the ring.
---
Dangerous Nicholas Alger: Look, I respect Textbook Tim. He's one of the greats. But he's old. Real old. Makes me look young, he's got no business trying to defend the Dangerous Kick, or fighting Ruthless Nicole at all. But if that's the way he wants it, he signed the dotted line. He gets what he asked for. And Della...I gave her a chance to be great. She got two big wins. I gave her a shot at a fast track. She beat Turner, she had a chance at the Openweight. I don't see that as punishment. I put myself in a tournament for the UCSS Interim. I won. I wasn't whining. So Tim, Della, you want some...come get some.
Blue Devil Dukem Legit Fight Ultimate Challenge Blue Devil Dukem vs. ??? Stanford Bradley in the guise of "Blue Devil Dukem" has been a pestersome nuisance in recent months, calling out opponents to face him in single round "Legit Fights." He has claimed every one of them a victory by running around and avoiding any conflict before the three minute mark, and has placed an open challenge for Lariats in that series.
---
Blue Devil Dukem: Everyone thinks they're a badass, but nobody wants to put in the work! You know, neither do I, but I was just born this damn good! You have all these guys out there who dedicate their whole pathetic lives to fighting, they lose their braincells getting hit in the head, they kill their kidneys making weight, they craft their bodies into living weapons, but me? I throw down a Five Guys order for lunch and jog around the block and that's all that the Blue Devil needs to do to be the baddest man on the planet! You know, I cleaned out the whole division here! Nobody in the Senatorial Office has the balls to face up to someone on my level! So I'm putting the challenge out there, whoever thinks they got the cojones, step right up, and I'll knock you right down! All hail the Duke, baby!
Senatorial Office Head of Operations Anthony Kalb: I'm not going to give anything away here, but let's just say I'm going to have fun watching what's coming Stanford's way...
Preliminary Main Event G.P. Christopher with Reimi Makabe vs. "Showtime" Byron Worthy(Warrior Pro) with Monica Tesfaye The first of two Preliminary Main showings for GPC, taking on the PAC's Showtime Byron Worthy, as the Destructive Duo and their allies continue to grow in power as a faction in L-Pro, this match takes on extra significance. However, for the moment, both Christopher and Worthy are approaching this in the mindset of pure competition.
---
G.P. Christopher: Here we go again, two nights of the biggest action in the game, and the Hardest Working Man in Wrestling doing what he does best. Two nights, two Preliminary Main Events. It's a big responsibility to kick things off, and set the tone, and nobody does that better than I do. I know I always gotta be on the top of my game, no matter who I got. And this one, Showtime Byron Worthy's not someone I can take lightly. He's someone I respect, and even if we got the PAC about to run into the Destructive Duo and I, that doesn't mean I'm building some pointless beef with them. It's wrestling, it's competition, and I'm cool with them. Doesn't mean I'll hesitate to drop Byron on his head, or that he'll pause for a moment before dunking me into the mat. We both get that. So really, all I want here is to steal the show, get the win, put a smile on Reimi's face and make a statement. That's not asking too much, is it? I didn't think so.

Fast Eddie's Quick Picks for Mid Year Lariats: The Mythical Matchup By "Fast" Eddie Edison I think I'm setting a personal record here, starting one of these more than twenty four hours before a major event. I'm not writing this in an airport, on an airplane or at an overpriced sports bar. I think I deserve a medal for that, or at least, Kevin Anderson should give me a bonus. Anyway, I'm not here to waste your time, I'm here to tell you who's winning, who's losing, and who you really shouldn't bet your money on. Night 1 Preliminary Main Event G.P. Christopher with Reimi Makabe vs. "Showtime" Byron Worthy(Warrior Pro) with Monica TesfayeThis is GPC's thing, and he's got his lady there(or more accurately, Reimi's got her man in the ring), but look at how impressive Worthy was the other week, he pinned the champ, Rahman! GPC's also got more to focus on for Night 2, where there's actually something on the line, so I predict Byron's got the win here. Blue Devil Dukem Legit Fight Ultimate Challenge Blue Devil Dukem vs. ???I predict that Kalb somehow convinced Mike Tyson to knock out Stanford Bradley, and then Iron Mike's gonna go hang out and smoke with Humberto Ortega. Family Feud "Textbook" Tim Dwight and Della Dwight vs. Dangerous Nicholas Alger and Ruthless Nicole AlgerPlease don't argue with this one. DNA was a legit champ earlier this year, RNA and the Limbtakers just beat the SFG in Phoenix Rising. Textbook's old, and Della got her chin shattered by Andronicus Turner. Settling the Feud Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Titas ButkusSay it with me, Tight Ass Butt Kiss. Ok, I didn't just pick Titas because of his name, JPM is past his prime and his mind's not in it anymore and Titas has infinitely more to gain. Main Event: Lightning Pro Victorious Tag Medal Championship Bout Star Perfect(Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto)(C) vs. Pure Gold(Mallory Spaulding and "Five Star" Kyle Anderson)(Phoenix Rising)Ok, this isn't my pick for who's most likely to win, it's who I'm betting on. Seriously, plunk a few bucks down on Pure Gold, it's a great investment and there's no reason they can't prove the naysayers wrong. Night 2 Preliminary Main Event: The Loop Championship Bout The Syndicate(Mr. Cobra(SWA), Lucretia DeCavalcante, Eddie the Wire and Tony the Rod) vs. The Destructive Duo(Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto), G.P. Christopher and Yuriko MasamuneSecond time in a row here that I'm posting my betting favorite. You think the money was good with Pure Gold? Just look at these odds! If anyone can do this, the Duo and Co. can finally end the reign of terror. Not the smart pick, but damn it, I can be biased if I want to be! TIPWF Commissionership Contest: Steel Stockade Match Commissioner Walt Callahan vs. Cowboy JohnstonCowboy might have more rust to shake off than a Ford Pinto in an abandoned junkyard, but come on, one quarter of Cowboy Johnston should still get the job done against 2023 Walt Callahan. UCSS Tag Team Title Bout Red Alert(Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) and Aoife Daley)(C) vs. American Apex(Keith Van Horne and Lamont Aldren)(Wrestle Parade)Aoife Daley might have the heaviest hands this side of the late, great Earnie Shavers, and Leona Sterling has become the champion that her supporters have always said she could be, but do they have Diagonal Power(tm)? I didn't think so. UCSS Openweight Championship Bout Hakim Fields(C) vs. Virgil de Boer Honestly, I think I might be looking forward to this more than anything else on either night. Two guys who are at the absolute top of their game, and both guys who can finish a fight in a moment. But Hakim Fields is the UCSS GOAT. His style is impetuous, his defense is impregnable and he's just ferocious. Ok, ok, I think I exceeded my Mike Tyson quota for this article here, but seriously, Fields has the best striking defense in the entire Office, he's incredibly effecient on the attack and those Hapa Elbows are as brutal as it gets. Hard as Virgil hits, I just can't pick him here, he's got no grappling game and Fields has everything you'd need to take him apart. TIPWF Lone Star Heavyweight Title Bout El Hijo del Sapo(Rose Garden)(C) vs. Lance Marshall(Phoenix Rising)I think this is the time the Son of the Toad gets squashed. Or I could be entirely wrong and Sapo beats the prime out of Marshall like he did JPM. Still, I think Lance's size and tenacity give him the slight edge. Lightning Pro Victorious Medal Championship Bout Ibrahim Rahman(C) vs. Steve Phillips This could either be mindblowingly great or disappointingly brief. I'm going with the latter, with Rahman easily pinning the Senator Emeritus. It's been a good run, Steve, but you're not holding the Medal. PEWA Extreme Championship Bout Hideo Kawabata(Realm of Wrestling)(C) vs. Moustapha Ndour I'm going out on a limb here and I'm going to say this one's going to be the most satisfying match of the event, and Hideo Kawabata continues to cement himself as one of the best champs the PEWA ever saw, and one of the best champs in wrestling, period. Just make sure the medical team is ready after this one, because I'm pretty sure this one's taking a few years off both careers here if it goes like I think it will. Main Event: Senatorial Office Number One Ranking Bout Ajax(C) vs. N9NEI went back and forth here about five times, I remember just how freakin' scary N9NE was back in the day, I think he didn't do anything but powerbomb people over and over and over again until they died. But then I think of how Ajax almost ended up taking on the challenge of AAW, and how he's been a champ everywhere he's gone, and since he hasn't taken five years off, and we know what he can do, I'm going to pick N9NE, anyway. Because Doolittle and all the idiots picked Ajax and that's enough reason to go the other way. And this has absolutely nothing at all to do with how I'm betting on this. Not at all. Nope. Not one bit. So there it is, Mid Year Lariats, all scoped out far ahead of the deadline(and don't you forget that, Anderson!), so if anyone's asking you to put fill them in on what's what, here's all the picks you where looking for at the speed you need. This is "Fast" Eddie Edison, signing off.

Night One: [One Thumb Up] Night Two: [Two Thumbs Up] The first third of Lariats was a fairly routine event, somewhat on par with a regular Golden Touch event, which means that you got some big names, some interesting matchups, but nothing really resonated afterwards. The second night would have been a candidate for two thumbs down if it didn't have at least one classic, and thankfully, it did bring that with Fields-De Boer, which was a comeback on par with GOAT-Pure Gold, Concrete Pete's last stand or Cheick Kongo's return fire against Pat Barry. I could wax poetic on that one for the rest of my review, but I should probably also mention that Ajax vs. N9NE didn't outright suck, which was a victory for the ages in a way, Red Alert vs. American Apex was good and Cowboy Johnston's temporary return to the ring provided a great moment. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Mid-Year Lariats and Legislators 2023: The Mythical Matchup Night 2 - 8-4-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, August 4th at the Will Rogers Entertainment Center in Washington DC Main Event: Senatorial Office Number One Ranking Bout Ajax(C) with Dexa Jain and Daniel Ness vs. N9NE with Morgan "Midas" Matthews, Persephone and Irkalla The most anticipated match in Office history finally took place. With Ajax's faithful support team in tow, and Morgan Matthews at ringside to watch N9NE, the stage was set. And incredibly, the match may have actually lived up to its promise. For over half an hour, the two titanic forces battled, with N9NE's sub-par stamina and Ajax's inability to manhandle his foe as usual created a conundrum. Neither man could find the definitive advantage, even as N9NE's superior power gave him bursts of offence, and Ajax's speed and conditioning kept him active. The two fought inside and out of the ring, with no interference from either corner, until N9NE landed a thunderous chokeslam upon a board to finally pin the Man from the Mountain, bringing the Mythical Matchup to a close as he claimed the Senatorial Office Number One Ranking. PEWA Extreme Championship Bout Hideo Kawabata(Realm of Wrestling)(C) vs. Moustapha Ndour A sufficiently bloody display of violence, with Hideo Kawabata going out on his shield, faceplanted and KOed with a reverse chokeslam. Before that, though, the Realm of Wrestling star seemed to be in the lead, and while this match wasn't the instant classic it promised to be, it was certainly sufficient. Moustapha Ndour has now reached his goal to have held both the PEWA Extreme Tag belts with Demarcus Browning and now the PEWA Extreme title itself. Lightning Pro Victorious Medal Championship Bout Ibrahim Rahman(C) vs. Steve Phillips The finest technician in the Office today and the legendary founder met in what was thought to be a possible MOTN contender, but instead, the other likely result was met, with Rahman working Phillips over, slowing him down to a crawl with flash pins and legwork before a simple toehold would submit the Senator Emeritus. Not the best match of the event, but certainly a showing that again raises Rahman's stock and enhances his impressive reign. No doubt about it, Ibrahim Rahman is without peer in terms of pure technique in the squared circle. TIPWF Lone Star Heavyweight Title Bout El Hijo del Sapo(Rose Garden)(C) vs. Lance Marshall(Phoenix Rising) Two of the highest ranking guests in recent history for the TIPWF met here with the top prize of the promotion up for grabs. Little time was wasted here with both men pushing a fast pace, but everything would come to an abrupt halt with Marshall connecting with his trademark Cattle Drive fireman carry ddt, dropping Sapo down hard enough to knock him out and claim his belt. Lance Marshall takes a big step with this win, and with his old friend Cowboy Johnston now in charge, may be the face of the TIPWF for the forseeable future and then some. UCSS Openweight Championship Bout Hakim Fields(C) with Larry Washington(Realm of Wrestling), Andronicus Turner and Dangerous Nicholas Alger vs. Virgil de Boer with Zin Win Aye, Sanem Becker and "Big Banter" Rory Banner Absolutely the best all around match of Mid Year Lariats. Both sides approached the first round tentatively, but as the match went along, Virgil de Boer exploded, slaughtering Fields with a full ring muay thai clinch rush, leaving the champion bloodied and draped over the ropes. Another strike rush would put Fields down for the count, only for the bell to ring, ending the round at the nine count. A rejuvenated Hakim Fields came out of the gates with a purpose in the third round, finally catching de Boer with his deadly Hapa Elbows to force the stoppage. One of the most remarkable comebacks in Office history and as thrilling of a match as you'll ever see. Hakim Fields came within a moment of defeat and showed his incredible presence of mind and force of will to walk away, still the champ. UCSS Tag Team Title Bout Red Alert(Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) and Aoife Daley)(C) vs. American Apex(Keith Van Horne and Lamont Aldren)(Wrestle Parade) Undoubtedly one of the best tactical encounters of the entire event, both sides wrestling an intelligent bout, with American Apex able to repeatedly thwart the vaunted guillotine of Leona Sterling and the heavy handed knockout strikes of Aoife Daley. Keith Van Horne would seal the deal with his Diagonal Power german suplex hold, and American Apex are now two time UCSS Tag Team champions on top of the division that they helped to build up to become one of the best in the Office. TIPWF Commissionership Contest: Steel Stockade Match Commissioner Walt Callahan vs. Cowboy Johnston There were a number of concerns surrounding Cowboy Johnston's condition for this bout, and thankfully, they were entirely unfounded. Johnston steamrolled Callahan as if he had never stepped away from the ring, landing the majority of his classic signatures, and pinned after the Amarillo Sunset brainbuster lariat to the cheers of the fans. Johnston is now the TIPWF Commissioner, with the hopes of the TIPWF faithful at his back, he may well be able to turn things around for the venerable promotion. Preliminary Main Event: The Loop Championship Bout The Syndicate(Mr. Cobra(SWA), Lucretia DeCavalcante, Eddie the Wire and Tony the Rod) vs. The Destructive Duo(Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto), Saur Oorja and Yuriko Masamune With GPC injured, the Duo had to dig deep to find a teammate, and through their connection to Aishwarya Dhawan, came up with a strong prospect from Dhawan's home promotion in India, Amaron Ka Akhaada, Arena of the Immortals. Saur Oorja, or Solar Energy joined with the Destructive Alliance, and ended up bringing much needed spirit to the squad, which otherwise ended up picked to pieces by the incredibly well-oiled machine that is the Syndicate. Masamune was put down by a Mafia Kick from Eddie the Wire, pinned for the first elimination, and Saur Oorja was pinned following a Rod Smasher DDT from Tony the Rod to ensure the comfortable time limit victory for the Syndicate, who once again successfuly defend The Loop. Still, a surprisingly good debut for Saur Oorja, if anything else, especially considering that he was reported to have barely made it to the arena on time. --- Mid-Year Lariats and Legislators 2023: The Mythical Matchup Night 1 - 8-3-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Thursday, August 3rd at the Beltway Hippodrome in Washington, DC Main Event: Lightning Pro Victorious Tag Medal Championship Bout Star Perfect(Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto)(C) vs. Pure Gold(Mallory Spaulding and "Five Star" Kyle Anderson)(Phoenix Rising) With Star Perfect having repeatedly outclassed Pure Gold in recent months, it seemed as if this result was a foregone conclusion, especially with an attire refresh for Kinoshita. However, this was far from the case, as Pure Gold rose up, finding their previous elite form once again, keeping pace with their foes the whole match, before Mallory Spaulding was able to gain sweet retribution over Ayako Miyamoto by pinning her with a bridging german suplex hold, the same move Miyamoto had previously injured and defeated Spaulding with. Pure Gold now own the Victorious Tag Medals and again look like one of the best teams in the world, all the more satisfying for the Spaulding-Anderson configuration. A good match and a quality ending for Night One. Bonus Match Walid Alizadeh vs. King Bemba With the speed of the program moving along, the green light was given for two of the heaviest hitters in the Office to receive the sole bonus match of the two night event. With Walid Alizadeh on a major tear in UCSS and King Bemba preparing for the Pan African Tour, this was a heavy hitting battle. Although the Persian Powerhouse had the momentum, Bemba reminded him, and the entirety of Pan African Wrestling why he was once Number One Ranked and a dominant force before his series of injuries by spiking Alizadeh with the Royal Annihilation powerbomb to death valley bomb combo to knock him out for the win. With back to back dominant wins from Mutombo and Bemba, the Pan African Cup looks all the more intriguging at this point. Settling the Feud Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Titas Butkus With his career potentially on the line in this grudge-culminating bout Jean-Pierre Mutombo sported a throwback attire and demonstrated exactly why many fans and pundits consider him the greatest in the history of the Office, outfighting Titas Butkus soundly at all points, and landing two Unifier to Supersensational Drop combos, with the second one resulting in the pin and the customary stylish dance celebration. Butkus deserves some credit for the rare accomplishment of kicking out from the Supersensational Drop on the first attempt, but simply couldn't shift gears as the match went along. Family Feud "Textbook" Tim Dwight and Della Dwight with Aline Richelieu vs. Dangerous Nicholas Alger and Ruthless Nicole Alger with Candace Monroe(Phoenix Rising) A good showing for all four competitors, including the returning Tim Dwight, who may have set himself up for a future Old Guard championship bout with his still-effective skills. They would not be enough, though, to keep Ruthless Nicole Alger from pinning Della Dwight after a deadlift piledriver. Blue Devil Dukem Legit Fight Ultimate Challenge Blue Devil Dukem vs. ZIP Strikebot With the mystery challenge issued, Head of Operations Anthony Kalb arrived at the entranceway with boxing gloves and requisite kneepads in place, only to announce that Stanford Bradley's "Legit Fight" foe would be none other than the infamous import, the ZIP Strikebot. Holding on for dear life, Blue Devil Dukem clinched at every opportunity, somehow surviving for three mintues, declairing a "decision victory" afterwards. Kalb would not allow this to last, and set an instant rematch with a half hour time limit. Bradley would not survive this one, eventually succumbing to a brain chop before staying down for ten. Preliminary Main Event G.P. Christopher with Reimi Makabe vs. "Showtime" Byron Worthy(Warrior Pro) with Monica Tesfaye Lariats opened with a solid matchup between two great workers, but Showtime Byron Worthy was on a tear here, catching GPC in his One Three One Trap neck crank, forcing a referee stoppage. As a result, Christopher would be on the injured list, missing the opening match for Night Two. --- Match of the Show: Fields vs. De Boer -This will go down as the best UCSS match ever, one of the best combat sports comebacks of all time, and likely is in the lead for the MOTY. Even with Ajax vs. N9NE actually bringing a proper match to the table, this was undoubtedly the choice. Performer of the Show: N9NE, Hakim Fields -While Fields's feel-good comeback does net him the POTS award, N9NE's return to action after five years to win the biggest prize in the Office cannot be overlooked, either. --- Injury Report G.P. Christopher: Neck Strain (One Month Medical Suspension) -A neck crank from Byron Worthy took GPC out for the week, and the Hardest Working Man in Wrestling will be forced to the sideline for a month. Walid Alizadeh: Mild Concussion (Two Month Medical Suspension) -Royal Annihilation from King Bemba dropped Alizadeh on his head and will put the Persian Powerhouse on the shelf for the next few months. El Hijo del Sapo: Unknown (No Medical Information Provided) -The Son of the Toad lost his TIPWF Lone Star Heavyweight title after Lance Marshall dropped him with a Cattle Drive, and while there was no offical report, due to Sapo's guest status, it sounds as if he will be back sooner than not, regardless. Steve Phillips: Pulled Hamstring (No Medical Suspension) -Phillips took a rough flash pin into the ropes from Ibrahim Rahman, but still finished the match, and it seems that he'll be able to fight through his recovery. Hideo Kawabata: Unknown (No Medical Information Provided) -Despite losing by knockout by means of a reverse chokeslam, Kawabata reportedly shunned medical treatment and will not miss any time. --- --- Fast Eddie's Quick Notes from Mid Year Lariats Presser By "Fast" Eddie Edison You already know I can give you the picks you want at the speed you need, so now I'll give you a modern attention span directed recap of the Lariats presser! I was there, and if you wanted an authentic abridged version of all the blather, I have you covered! -Anthony Kalb and Kevin Fitsharris running things. Midas walks out, but he's off to the side. -King Bemba shouts about winning the Pan African Cup and about his royal right to reign, JPM shows up, says he's here to stay, says he'll beat Bemba. Things get really fun with Rahman showing up and saying he respects both, but will not hesitate to pin them. -Lucretia DeCavalcante gave a short speech with brief interjections from the Goodfellas, basically saying the Syndicate will never lose. The Man They Call Iceberg showed up and said the D-Team will be D-lighted to D-feat them. (I made up the terrible puns, but he basically said that without being entirely corny about it.) The D-Team and the Syndicate face off for a moment, before the mafia crew walked away. -For some reason, Killer King Jones, who had nothing at all to do during Lariats, showed up and said he's retiring next year, and then left. -Moustapha Ndour gave a gracious speech thanking Hideo Kawabata for their match, told him he had a rematch waiting as soon as he asks for it, thanked Renate Barlowe for bringing him into wrestling, thanked Demarcus Browning for helping him raise his level, thanked Mike Krzyzewski for inspiring him to be excellent. -Hakim Fields and Big Banter Banning got into it before he could speak, with Rory Banner accusing the Office of poor officiating, telling Fields that his nine count was actually a ten with a slow ref count waiting for the bell, that Virgil de Boer was owed a rematch, that the Big Banter Brand deserved fair treatment. Fields finally was able to speak and told him that he'd give de Boer a rematch, but with all the whining, he'd rather let someone outside the Banter Brand have the chance. Larry Washington showed up, and Fields seemed ready to give him the nod, but Rory Banner went nuts, throwing water bottles and got himself and Fields and Washington ejected in the ensuing melee. -Steve Phillips congratulated Ibrahim Rahman for his easy victory, and bemoaned tapping to a simple toehold. He then congratulated Cowboy Johnston on his new position, calling him up to the podium, and remarked that he might look to bring the PAC to the TIPWF if the deal can work out for Johnston and for L-Pro. -Ajax and N9NE both showed up at the same time from opposite sides of the room, Midas tried to join up with N9NE, but the Number One waved him off, stating that he wanted to be his own man in the Office. Daniel Ness spoke for Ajax, saying that he was disappointed in the outcome of his match, that he'd like a rematch some day, but he knows that he's not ready now. He also said that Ajax would like to take regular bookings in L-Pro going forward if Shima Ito would be willing to pay a premium for his matches. Midas then stepped in and told N9NE that if he didn't want to play ball, that he'd bring someone back who would, and said that he expected him to last to the end of the year for his next big money matchup. N9NE mentioned he'd rather fight again sooner, and Midas seemed miffed as the presser ended and Kalb waved everyone off, thanking them for their time.

[One Thumb Up] For a slapdash seat of the pants production, this could have been an outright shitshow, but instead, we got a pretty solid night of wrestling, with Dwight-Oorja being an unexpected highlight and a good tag match with the Blossoms and Calhouns. I'm also not complaining that we had Priya Mallaya and Nakajima Sama booked, and Headhunter-Kalb was amusing. All in all, far from essential viewing, but not a show you'd regret seeing, either. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Office Party #21 - 8-11-2023 8:00 PM (CT) on August 11th, 2023 at the Beltway Full Contact Martial Arts Center in Washington DC Special Challenge Match N9NE, "The Wall" Alex Thompson(SWA), Atlas Stone and Stanford Bradley vs. Julio Rivera, JT Bosco, Beatriz and Super Komodo A massive challenge was laid out for four of the Office's affiliated free agents, with the chance to earn guaranteed roster contracts if they could at least draw even against a murderer's row including the SWA's towering part-time actor, the Wall, Alex Thompson, the free agent powerlifter, Atlas Stone, a non-Blue Devil Dukem Stanford Bradley and the Number One Ranked N9NE in his first showing since beating Ajax. It was a decent attempt, but Atlas KOed Beatriz with a running powerslam and Team N9NE were able to see out the time limit with a comfortable lead. The Calhoun Bros.(Abednego Calhoun and Obadiah Calhoun with Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun) vs. Battle Blossoms(Onosa'i Tagaloa and Sakura Ishigami) Almost as good as the match that came before it, a great contest between the Calhoun Brothers and the Battle Blossoms with both sides showcasing their strengths before Sakura Ishigami blasted a seated Obadiah Calhoun with a folding splash before taking the three count. "Textbook" Tim Dwight vs. Saur Oorja The big surprise of the night came with this great match between one of the oldest grapplers in the Office and one of the most recent young arrivals in Amaron Ka Akhaada, Arena of the Immortals's Saur Oorja. The Indian import brought his Solar Energy and then some to the matchup, but Dwight's timeless matwork would be more than a match, leading to some great exchanges culminating in Dwight stealing Oorja's own Energizer guillotine crusher to get the pin. A match that was far better than anyone could possibly have hoped for, and one that has now netted Dwight a sure shot at the TIPWF Old Guard Championship. Jennie Medici vs. Nakajima Sama with Kyosuke Nakajima, Kyoko Nakajima and Kayori Nakajima A proper win for the House of Nakajima, with Nakajima Sama pinning Jennie after delivering her Divine Grace twisting sheer drop DDT. No doubt about it, Nakajima Sama was truly a class above in this one. Priya Mallaya(Phoenix Rising) vs. Dexa Jain Dexa Jain's impressive athleticism was on display here, but the Himalayan Sherpa was no match for the blinding beauty and well-rounded skillset of Priya Mallaya. The Phoenix Rising standout absorbed the cheers of the broadcast audience(not many people live at the Beltway, of course), and channeled them into a shining hip attack to score the pinfall win. Anthony Kalb with Monica Tesfaye vs. The Headhunter The Senatorial Office Head of Operations knew he'd be in for a bloodbath when he challenged the ever-erratic Headhunter to open up his latest Office Party. With his newlywed wife, Monica Tesfaye reluctantly witnessing from ringside, Kalb found himself at the mercy of the mysterious monster, but while Headhunter dominated, the standard wrestling rules would lead to his downfall, as he decided to execute his signature mysterious head removal technique, gloating over the fallen form of Kalb, only to find himself DQed by a five count. Tesfaye vigorously applauded from ringside, and it appears that the Office's Chief Legal Consultant may well have been responsible for the winning strategy. --- Match of the Night: Dwight vs. Oorja -As good as the Calhouns-Blossoms match was, Tim Dwight and Saur Oorja put on the clear best showing of the night, a match that meshed perfectly between two highly contrasting competitors. Performer of the Night: Anthony Kalb -A big time upset over the Headhunter, no matter how it was earned, will go down as a win on Kalb's ledger and also earned him this award. --- Injury Report Beatriz: Bruised Rib (Three Month Medical Recovery) -Powerslammed into the mat by the massive Atlas Stone, the free agent Burnt Beauty will have to take a few months before she can again grace one of the Office's promotions. ---

The Pan African Tour kicks off once again on this Friday with the biggest tournament of the year for the Senatorial Office in the Pan African Cup and a renewed focus on bringing a combined experience of the Office's main promotions along with giving the vibrant African export talent base of the organization a chance to shine at home. The legendary veteran Killer King Jones gets a shot in the main event at the Ruler of the Road to top off a supersized card in Botswana. Pan Africa Tour 2023: PEWA in Gaborone, Botswana - 8-25-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on August 25th in Gaborone, Botswana Main Event: Ruler of the Road Championship Bout Raven Brighid(C)(Blue Thunder Pro) vs. Killer King Jones Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match Moustapha Ndour vs. Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan) Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) vs. FENYANG Dhani Faizan(Wrestle Parade) vs. Ayanda(Phoenix Rising) Gabriel Cruise(Pro Wrestling Revival) and Sampath Thakur vs. Pay Day Enterprises(Hindu Sheik and Shrieking Sheik with Sylvain "Pay Day" Mint and Elise Pichon) Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match King Bemba vs. Wesley Rakoto Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match Renate Barlowe vs. Zulu Lionheart Mistfire Coven(TIKI, HOODOO, CETRA and MBALI)(Typhoon Pro) vs. The House of Hammer(Sir Vladimir Henry, Heidi Karnstein, Bath Salts Zombie and the Headhunter) Nadia Teye(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Hobo Harry Warsan Caliaah Ali Debut Match: Somalian Sea Battle "Somalian Survivor" Anwar Omar with the Equalizer vs. Warsan Caliaah Ali --- Tentative Pan African Tour Path and Schedule: PEWA: Gaborone, Botswana - 8-25-2023 TIPWF: Windhoek, Namibia - 9-1-2023 L-Pro: Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo 9-8-2023 UCSS: Cairo, Egypt 9-15-2023 Golden Touch: Tunis, Tunisia 9-22-2023 Pan African Cup Block A -Moustapha Ndour vs. Thunder Fist -Shaka Corbin vs. FENYANG -King Bemba vs. Wesley Rakoto -Renate Barlowe vs. Zulu Lionheart (The major players in Block A have to be the PEWA Extreme champ, Moustapha Ndour, and the revitalized Ugandan Destroyer, King Bemba, but the Corbin-FENYANG match presents a promising confrontation between two tag specialists, and Barlowe vs. Lionheart could end up being a grappling clinic between two South African standouts. If anyone's looking for a bracket buster here, Thunder Fist could easily present a great pick, with the heavy handed ZIP legend possessing the ability to give the Warbringer everything he can handle.) Block B -Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi -Nefertiri vs. Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun -Ibrahim Rahman vs. Mohammad Ramses -Lanna Ndi vs. Onika Santos (Block B is headlined by the Office GOAT, Jean-Pierre Mutombo, fresh off a shockingly dominant win over Titas Butkus, and Ibrahim Rahman, Victorious Medal holder on an unstoppable championship run. The other two bouts should be great for the fans, with Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun making her Pan African debut against Nefertiri, known for always raising her game on the Tour, and the Ndi-Santos match pitting two spectacular strikers against each other. Mohammad Ramses, a former Pan African Champion, would be an unlikely underdog here, but perhaps the best chance at anyone going through the top stars in Block B.)

[One Thumb Down] Not the best that we've seen, and frankly, I expected more from the start of the Pan African Tour. Aside from the Faizan-Ayanda and the Mistfire Coven-House of Hammer matches, nothing here was very memorable and the top end of the card failed to deliver. However, nothing was egregiously awful, either, so you'll not come away from this one with a bad taste in your mouth unless you really despise Killer King Jones for some reason. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Pan Africa Tour 2023: PEWA in Gaborone, Botswana - 8-25-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on August 25th in Gaborone, Botswana Bonus Match Skurai vs. "Tracy Finn" Looking for a respite from his constant ambushes, Skurai ended up going up against "Tracy Finn," who very quickly was revealed not to be the ketchup packet eating former hockey enforcer, but the lethal ninja rival, Silent Death. The two surprisingly put on a proper PEWA style match, with Skurai eventually pinned by Silent Death following his twisting full nelson izuna drop, the Silencer. Main Event: Ruler of the Road Championship Bout Raven Brighid(C)(Blue Thunder Pro) vs. Killer King Jones Did Raven Brighid pull a "Young Blood" here? She could easily have won this match at any point. But instead, Raven ended up taking her time, refraning from going for the win, and even sent the match to the outside against a PEWA Original. Jones took full advantage as the match went along, hitting his Eritrean Cleaver second rope diving chop and scored what on paper was an incredible upset, but in practice, was much less Jones earning the victory, and more an unforced error by the now-former champ. Still, as he announced his retirement at next year's PEWA 25, Jones gets at least one more trophy for his case, one more run with a belt to cap off a respectable career. Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match Moustapha Ndour vs. Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan) Fresh off his win over Hideo Kawabata to claim the PEWA Extreme title, Moustapha Ndour may have been a bit depleted here, or he may have felt the intensity of the crowd in support of their hometown legend, Thunder Fist. The ZIP Japan favorite was in his absolute best form here, utterly battering the Warbringer with his massively clubbing punches, eventually pinning him after the dreaded Bowel Evacuation punch to the solar plexus. An upset, but not a shocking one for anyone familiar with Fist's resume. Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) vs. FENYANG This battle of two tag specialists ended up being one of the better matches of the night, with Corbin and FENYANG fighting in and out of the ring, but eventually, the Hunter of the Ring would pin the Botswanan Heavy Metal Cowboy after his signature South African Slam. Dhani Faizan(Wrestle Parade) vs. Ayanda(Phoenix Rising) Still working her way up in Phoenix Rising's Blackwood Academy, Ayanda took a big step here as she was able to match moves with Dhani Faizan, but the well-off Wrestle Parade standout kicked things up into another gear down the stretch, hitting her Ainsr Altair Press to score the three count. Still, one of the best matches of the night and a match that raised Ayanda's stock considerably, providing invaulable experience for the rising prospect. Gabriel Cruise(Pro Wrestling Revival) and Sampath Thakur vs. Pay Day Enterprises(Hindu Sheik and Shrieking Sheik with Sylvain "Pay Day" Mint and Elise Pichon) An absolute career making win for a man who already stands as an established veteran of the business. With Sampath Thakur holding up his own end, Gabriel Cruise fought an inspired match here, up against two of the most accomplished hardcore grapplers of the last two decades, and landing his Anarchy Reigns piledriver variant on the Shrieking Sheik, knocking the legend out to earn a massive win for the upstart team, easily fast tracking them into a chance to earn a shot at the Extreme Tag Championship. Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match King Bemba vs. Wesley Rakoto For all the respect shown in the prior match, much less was on display here, with King Bemba only showing his usual contempt for his Madagascarian foe. Wesley Rakoto acquitted himself well, pushing the pace and making a challenge out of the contest, even kicking out of the Royal Annihilation, but eventually, Bemba's powerbomb and death valley bomb combination would secure the three count and send the Ugandan along in the Pan African Cup. Pan African Cup Block A Quarterfinal Match Renate Barlowe vs. Zulu Lionheart While Zulu Lionheart had a few strong moments in this South African confrontation, mostly on the feet here, this was mainly a display in Renate Barlowe's methodical demolition of the lower limbs. The Mercenary in Exile worked the Lionheart over before securing a flying leglock for the submission. Both fighters would shake hands afterwards in a show of respect for their fellow expatriates. Mistfire Coven(TIKI, HOODOO, CETRA and MBALI)(Typhoon Pro) vs. The House of Hammer(Sir Vladimir Henry, Heidi Karnstein, Bath Salts Zombie and the Headhunter) In spite of the showcase rules, this was an absolute mess of a match, and that was not a bad thing. The Mistfire Coven have never missed a Pan African Tour, and they once again delivered an incredibly entertaining match, going toe to toe with one of the most violent groups in the PEWA, and coming out ahead as TIKI pinned the dreaded Headhunter after a fire breath connected. Nadia Teye(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Hobo Harry Hobo Harry was his usual reliable self in this confrontation of high fliers, but it was not enough to overcome the multi-faceted onslaught of Nadia Teye, who would end up submitting the PEWA Original with a cobra crossface. Warsan Caliaah Ali Debut Match: Somalian Sea Battle "Somalian Survivor" Anwar Omar with the Equalizer vs. Warsan Caliaah Ali A contentious history set the stage for this debut match. Years ago, Warsan Caaliah Ali captained a pirate ship off the shores of Somalia, mostly thwarting the dumping of toxic waste from international intruders. However, there were times that she may have been overzealous in turf disputes, and had raided the ship of an irritable local fisherman, by the name of Anwar Omar. Now, the two met in the ring, with Ali having followed Omar to the sport of pro wrestling, and it would be the pirate who prevailed as Warsan pinned Omar with an impressive rock bottom into the pin. Bonus Preshow Match The Outlaw, Sam Hall vs. Brickhouse Thelonious Wearing his Terry Funk tribute attire, the Outlaw, for once, found himself appreciated by the Gabarone fans, putting on a quality preshow bonus fight with Brickhouse Thelonious, making his own PEWA debut. Thelonious impressed with his raw power and Killer King Jones trained techniques, but it would be Hall standing in the end, having landed his Damn Your Eyes diving DDT and another DDT afterwards to net the three count. --- Match of the Night: Mistfire Coven vs. House of Hammer, Faizan vs. Ayanda -These two midcard bouts carried the show, with a chaotic clash in the former and a spirited step up for a prospect in the latter. Performance of the Night: Killer King Jones -Say what you want, but this was a great win for a veteran on his last leg, a title victory against an accomplished opponent. --- Injury Report Shrieking Sheik: Mild Concussion (Two Month Medical Suspension) -Dropped on his head by Gabriel Cruise, the Sheik will miss a few months, but should be back in time for this year's Horror of Hardcore. Pan African Cup Update Block A -Thunder Fist vs. Shaka Corbin -King Bemba vs. Renate Barlowe (Going forward, a battle of two destructive wrestlers known both for singles and tag runs will take place, and King Bemba finds himself up against a former member of his Royal Court in Renate Barlowe. The favorite for the block, Moustapha Ndour will not go on to the quarter finals, which was likely the biggest bracket buster to date on the Cup.)

[Two Thumbs Down] I know this isn't fair, but life's not fair. The fact of the matter is that technical issues killed this one, when you have a show turn into a two nighter due to the deteriorating quality of the delivery service, you're not going to have a good experience. On the plus side, the Old Guard match on the second night was very good and so were the other ones on the reboot. If you want to see this one, just find the second night, they actually shipped the right ring mat in by then and if that was a show on itself, it'd be a high single thumb up. Otherwise, don't torture yourself trying to watch footage that looked rougher than old Ed "Strangler" Lewis matches. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Pan African Tour 2023 - TIPWF in Windhoek, Namibia - 9-1-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, September 1st in Windhoek, Namibia (Redo took place on Saturday, September 2nd) Bonus Match Warsan Caaliah Ali vs. Wesley Rakoto A fast moving bonus match that saw Warsan outclass the far more experienced Rakoto, submitting him with the Captain's Hook bulldog choke. Main Event: TIPWF Old Guard Championship Bout Wataru Nakajima(C)(ZIP Japan) vs. "Textbook" Tim Dwight With Saturday night bringing about several quality matches in the Pan African Cup, the bar was high for the main event, but amazingly, the two aged veterans not only met the bar, but far surpassed it. Tim Dwight and Wataru Nakajima spared nothing in this match, Dwight's technical skill and Nakajima's potent strikes still as strong as ever. After a storm of nearfalls and a fight outside the ring, Nakajima finally was able to retain his belt after hitting the classic Wataru Spike northern lights bomb for the three count. Once again, the Old Guard division showed the value that the senior citizens of the Office bring to the ring. Pan African Cup Block B Quarter Final Match Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Ali Ahmed Mehrmouhammdi A credible effort from the Pan African Ambassador, but not good enough to overcome two Supersensational Drop elbows, the second of which followed its standard setup, the Unifier slam. JPM again demonstrates why he is the favorite to win the entire Cup. Pan African Cup Block B Quarter Final Match Ibrahim Rahman vs. Mohammad Ramses The first meeting between these two was a closely fought contest that saw Ramses use his power and athleticism to push the Tunisan Nomad to his limit, before eventually falling to a grounded crucifix pin. On Saturday, the ante may have even been raised higher, with Ramses again making Rahman work to the best of his ability, and this time, the Victorious Medal holder had to resort to his ultimate finisher, the Nomadic Retribution standing neck crank to get the three count. The Trio(El Froggy Mask, Rodeo Girl and the Mallard(MWCC)) vs. Rudo Army(El Hijo de Macchiato, Canadian Grizzly and Megan Chabot with Salvador Sosa) The first time this happened was a good match, ending on Grizzly tapping out Mallard with a Dungeon Sharpshooter but was marred by terrible broadcast quality. The second time around, the match quality was worse, the broadcast quality was better and Megan Chabot pinned Rodeo Angel after a Brunswick Strike rolling senton. Dhani Faizan(Wrestle Parade) vs. Florencia Espinosa Superb match with two Wrestle Parade affiliated grapplers, Faizan hailing from the Parade, and Espinoza serving as a guest for the Parade's Strut program, and it was no suprise that they each brought their best, with Faizan eventually pinning Espinoza with a gory crusher. Blackwood African Prospects(Djeneba Kouame and Ayanda)(Phoenix Rising) vs. Sun and Moon(Saur Oorja and Moonman) The Blackwood prospects did not dishonor themselves here, up against the brand new team of Sun and Moon. Saur Oorja and Moonman worked well together, with Oorja showing off a bright new primary attire for his TIPWF roster debut, and Moonman clinched the win by knocking the wind out of Djeneba Koumane with his Lunar Lander moonsault double stomp. Jasper Rhys(Independent) vs. Felice Santana The plucky effort of Jasper Rhys was on full display here as he finally met a foe who stood at his own height, but Felice Santana's 5'1 frame contains one of the most athletic high fliers and charismatic stars in the game, and Felice was able to show off her ability, pinning Rhys with a running high jump rana. Pan African Cup Block B Quarter Final Match Nefertiri vs. Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun A properly competitive match that saw Nefertiri raising her game as usual for the Tour, but Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun's submission techniques were even more impressive, and she was able to take home the win in her hometown with the Komasdal Special, a complex combination hold. Pan African Cup Block B Quarter Final Match Lanna Ndi vs. Onika Santos The heavy Kyokushin strikes of Lanna Ndi overcame the agile Capoeira of Onika Santos, with a brutal punt kick to the head leading to the pin. Calhoun Bros.(Abednego Calhoun and Obadiah Calhoun) with Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun vs. Black Star Cyclones(Esi Dogboe and Layla-Al Amin(Phoenix Rising)) with La Relampaga(Phoenix Rising) Energetic opener that saw the Calhoun Bros overcome the speed advantage of the Black Star Cyclones, with Abednego pinning Esi Dogboe with a diving elbow drop. Good showing for both teams. It should also be mentioned here that the entire first night of this show was run with the standard Senatorial Office mat, as the Pan African mat was stuck at the time in Gabarone, Botswana. --- Match of the Night: Nakajima vs. Dwight -The Old Guard title match was top of the line, a match good enough to even outclass both Rahman-Ramses encounters, Faizan-Espinoza and Mutombo-Mehrmohammdi. Performance of the Night: Ibrahim Rahman -Surviving a game challenge from Mohammad Ramses two nights in a row, Ibrahim Rahman reminded one and all why he is still the best technican in the world. --- Injury Report Djenenba Kouame: Wind knocked out (No Injury) -A Lunar Lander from Moonman ended Kouame's night, but will not prevent her from further competition, having merely knocked her wind out for the moment. --- Pan African Cup Update Block B Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Ibrahim Rahman Lanna Ndi vs. Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun (The two top favorites of the tournament will meet in the quarterfinals, with Mutombo and Rahman colliding in what could be a match with long term ramifications. The other match in the block, Ndi vs. Shikongo-Calhoun will fly under the radar, but could end up being a strong contrast between a striker and a submission artist.)

The Tour hits its halfway point in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with Block A of the Pan African Cup heating up, Ajax making his official L-Pro debut and a big team match in the main event. In addition, the Pan African Ambassador, Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi uses his booking power to put himself in the Preliminary Main Event in lieu of the currently-injured G.P. Christopher, a move that might throw some more fuel on the fire currently burning between the two prior allies. Pan African Tour 2023: Lightning Pro x Wacker Drive Revival in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo - 9-8-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, September 8th in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo Main Event The Congolese Connection(Jean-Pierre Mutombo and Professor Mark Gizenga) vs. Technical Ecstasy(Ibrahim Rahman and Blair Taylor) Pan African Cup Block A Semi-Finals Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan) vs. Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) Pan African Cup Block A Semi-Finals Renate Barlowe vs. King Bemba Double L-Pro Roster Debut Ajax vs. Diego Santana The D-Team(Iceberg and Leilani Auerbach) vs. Bemba's Court(Mr. Moonsault, Yetunde Oya and Esther Musambi) Innocent Mugisha vs. Phil Mercury Nadia Teye(Realm of Wrestling) and AJ Mohammad(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Peak Performance(Dexa Jain and Daniel Ness) (Blackwood African Prospects)Djeneba Kouame and Ayanda(Blackwood Academy) vs. Francesco Hirose and Rimi Kondo Preliminary Main Event Ali Ahmed Mehrmouhammdi vs. Yuriko Masamune

[One Thumb Down] This isn't a flat out condemnation of this show, it's a recognition that less than twenty-four hours later, I can only remember a few damn moments of what happened without going to my notes. Next to no standout matches, but also, on the plus side, no embarrassing duds or technical issues. A low bar to set, and it's not enough for me to recommend the show, but if you're keeping track of the Pan African Tour, you'll have an easier time with this one than last week's unfortunate mess of a broadcast. Here's hoping that next week is an outright victory, as the Tour deserves a win now. RESULTS Pan African Tour 2023: Lightning Pro x Wacker Drive Revival in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo - 9-8-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, September 8th in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo Bonus Match Bebop Tiger vs. The X-Treme Kid A legitimately great bonus match once again steals the show, with the X-Treme Kid raising his level and engaging in a well-paced duel with the Bebop Tiger. The two started out showing their respectively underrated technical abilities and ramped things up down the stretch, with the Tiger surviving several close calls before he could lock in an indian deathlock to submit the backyard legend at nearly twenty five minutes in. Not the match that anyone had expected, but almost certainly the one they will remember in Kinshasa once it was over. Main Event The Congolese Connection(Jean-Pierre Mutombo and Professor Mark Gizenga) vs. Technical Ecstasy(Ibrahim Rahman and Blair Taylor) A sprawling, elastic struggle of a match with both teams operating at a high level, nearly reaching the time limit with myriad near falls for both sides, but it would be Ibrahim Rahman in the end who claimed the win, again with his stepover leglock, claiming a major win before next week's landmark confrontation in singles competition against Jean-Pierre Mutombo in the Pan African Cup tournament. A good main event that did well to live up to the hopes it contained. Pan African Cup Block A Semi-Finals Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan) vs. Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) A good matchup on paper that yielded an enjoyable match, and one that careemed in and out of the ring with Shaka Corbin enduring Thunder Fist's sledgehammer fists to land a jackhammer for the three count, moving on in the Pan African Cup. Pan African Cup Block A Semi-Finals Renate Barlowe vs. King Bemba A brave effort from the Mercenary in Exile, but King Bemba was on another level here, with his power overcoming Barlowe's toughness and grit, landing a big running splash to get the pin. Double L-Pro Roster Debut Ajax vs. Diego Santana Diego Santana fought an intelligent match, doing his best to survive by utilizing a skillset honed across multiple continents, using his speed and stamina to wear down his larger foe while using submissions to keep himself out of trouble when he couldn't, but no matter how impressive Santana was here, he was still up against the force of nature that is Ajax, and the former CAWF Heavyweight Champion and former Senatorial Office Number One Ranked powerhouse would go into full Spear Monster mode, pinning Diego after one to claim a ten minute pinfall victory. Two on One Handicap Tag The D-Team(Iceberg and Leilani Auerbach) vs. Mr. Moonsault Originally, this was meant to be Iceberg and Aurbach vs. Mr. Moonsault along with Esther Musambi and Yetunde Oya, but before the match was to begin, King Bemba walked out onto the entranceway with a microphone, addressing the Royal Court. King Bemba: No! You have let down the Royal Court too many times, Marcus Xavier! Now, you prove yourself! Win this match and you remain in my Court! Lose this match, and I judge you unworthy to serve! And with that, the other members of the Court walked away, inverting the handicap match in favor of the D-Team. Marcus Xavier put up a credible struggle, managing to fend off his former teammate and former protege, but in the end, an irritated Iceberg kicked out of a split legged moonsault in the corner and responded by spiking Xavier on his head with a jackhammer brainbuster to take the pinfall. Mr. Moonsault now finds himself entirely on his own after turning on his former allies again and again to seek his own goals, and few would call it an undeserved fate. Innocent Mugisha vs. Phil Mercury The Superstar Showman had an easy time against the Rwandan prospect, with Mercury cruising to victory and hitting Mugisha with his own high speed oklahoma slam for the pin. Nadia Teye(Realm of Wrestling) and AJ Mohammad(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Peak Performance(Dexa Jain and Daniel Ness) A decent first showing for Peak Performance's support squad against two ascendent high fliers of the Realm, with Nadia Teye submitting Daniel Ness with a Mexican Stretch for the win, picking up her second win on this year's Tour. Blackwood African Prospects(Djeneba Kouame and Ayanda)(Blackwood Academy) vs. Francesco Hirose and Rimi Kondo One of the better matches of the night from two young, hungry teams, and while it seemed as the match went on that Francesco Hirose's potent lariats would be the difference maker, Ayanda would instead dig deep, knocking Rimi Kondo out with a spectacular head kick out of nowhere, leading to an memorable celebratory pose from the Prospects. A big time moment for the Blackwood duo, who have now proven that their results can match their talent when given the chance. Preliminary Main Event Ali Ahmed Mehrmouhammdi with Wataru Nakajima(ZIP Japan) and FENYANG vs. Yuriko Masamune with Aishwwarya Dhawan and Reimi Makabe Throwing an insult at his old friend turned enemy, GP Christopher, the Pan African Ambassador, Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi used his booking power for the Tour to place himself in the injured GPC's preferred spot on the card, against one of Christopher's closest associates in the Destructive Alliance. Yuriko Masamune did not make this an easy match for the Nigerian Prince, who reveled in the boos he received from the Congolese crowd, but she could not overcome Mehrmohammadi's multi-dimensional attack, and was pinned after a wheelbarrow bulldog. --- Match of the Night: Bebop Tiger vs. X-Treme Kid -The two seasoned veterans impressed in a bonus match that went above and beyond. Performance of the Night: Shaka Corbin -A big win over Thunder Fist was by far the most impressive of the night, and a sizable upset to boot in a match of high significance. --- Pan African Tour Update As of now, Block A is set for the Pan African Finale with Bemba and Corbin both through. Block B will be settled soon with an absolute dream match in the all-time great, Jean-Pierre Mutombo up against the current Victorious Medal holder, Ibrahim Rahman, and a mouth watering match striker vs. grappler confrontation between Cameroonian Kyokushin specialist, Lanna Ndi and Namibian(and Tennessean) submission prodigy, Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun. Block A Semi-Finals King Bemba vs. Shaka Corbin Block B Quarter Finals Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Ibrahim Rahman Lanna Ndi vs. Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun

The Pan African Tour comes to its penultimate stop in Cairo with a supermatch in the main event and a massive clash of Pirates and Egyptians to headline a card mixed with Pan African, UCSS and guest talent. The feud between Hakim Fields and the Sweet Science Society against the Big Banter Brand continues as does the confrontation between the Bitter Rivals and the upstart mismatched team of Bufona and Pulev. Pan African Tour 2023: UCSS in Cairo, Egypt 9-15-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, September 15th in Cairo, Egypt Main Event Pan African Cup Block B Quarterfinal Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Ibrahim Rahman Dynasty Cyclones(Layla Al-Amin(Phoenix Rising), Nefertiri, Mohammad Ramses and Esi Dogboe) vs. Pretty Pirates GALeon(Camilla Kidd(Independent), Hinari(Rose Garden), La Corsaria(Phoenix Rising) and Warsan Caaliah Ali) Pan African Cup Block B Quarterfinal Lanna Ndi vs. Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun Larry Washington and Hakim Fields vs. Big Banter Brand("Big Banter" Rory Banner and Sanem Becker with Virgil de Boer and Zin Win Aye) Standard Rules Anaka Nava(Wrestle Parade) vs. Anatoly Shkuro Onika Santos vs. Professor Mark Gizenga Eliza Faulkner(MWWC) with Mackenzie Bergeron vs. Innocent Mugisha Zulu Lionheart with Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) vs. Thiago Gracie with Jamie Tomasi and Angie Armstrong Bitter Rivals(Ong Daengsri and Minerva Markovic) vs. Marija Pulev and Lula Bufona

[One Thumb Up] Finally, this year's Pan African Tour presented a flat out quality event. From start to finish, the stop in Cairo was everything we had hoped for across the Continent, with more worthwhile matches than not, nothing too egregiously bad and almost no technical errors at all. Yes, I can and will recommend this one without hesitation, it's probably closer to two thumbs than it was to a thumb down, but it just needed a little more juice before I could call it an outright great event. Still, again, compared to what came before in the last month's time, this was a quantum leap ahead. -Tom S. Hunter Pan African Tour 2023: UCSS in Cairo, Egypt 9-15-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, September 15th in Cairo, Egypt Bonus Match Onosa'i Tagaloa with Sakura Ishigami vs. Seong Jung Hwan Great, show stealing battle between two impressive strikers, as Seong Jung Hwan overcame the heavy handed power of Onosa'i Tagaloa long enough to set up her signature diving split drop from the top for the pinfall win. Main Event Pan African Cup Block B Quarterfinal Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Ibrahim Rahman The long awaited main event saw an incredible show of fortitude and determination from Ibrahim Rahman, with the Tunisan Nomad enduring the best of Jean-Pierre Mutombo's potent attacks and eventually firing back with a brutal strike combination, culminating in a straight palm strike that led to the pin, and sent Rahman to the finals of Block B, where he will vie for the Pan African Cup championship in his home town of Tunis, Tunisia. Dynasty Cyclones(Layla Al-Amin(Phoenix Rising), Nefertiri, Mohammad Ramses and Esi Dogboe) vs. Pretty Pirates GALeon(Camilla Kidd(Independent), Hinari(Rose Garden), La Corsaria(Phoenix Rising) and Warsan Caaliah Ali) The first-ever quartet formation of the Pretty Pirates GALeon with La Corsaria and Warsan Caaliah Ali joining Camilla Kidd and Hinari took on the long-established Dynasty Cyclones and gave them trouble for the duration. Even so, Nefertiri again stepped up as she so often has done on past Pan African Tour dates, and pinned La Corsaria with a cazadora. Pan African Cup Block B Quarterfinal Lanna Ndi vs. Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun Lanna Ndi let no distractions sway her from her purpose here as she knocked Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun out in just over four minutes with a double roundhouse combo to the chest and head. Ndi may be the biggest underdog left, but that status only seems to be fueling her performances. Larry Washington and Hakim Fields vs. Big Banter Brand("Big Banter" Rory Banner and Sanem Becker with Virgil de Boer and Zin Win Aye) Strong performance from the Big Banter Brand, negating their powerful foes well enough for Rory Banner to land a huge running soccer kick to Field's ribs, and pinning the champ afterwards. No doubt about it, Big Banter Banner wrote his own ticket to a title match with this result. Standard Rules Dhani Faizan(Wrestle Parade) vs. Anatoly Shkuro No slow moments in this match with Anatoly Shkuro earning his best singles win as of yet by countering a Dhani Faizan body kick with a catching achilles hold to earn the submission win. Onika Santos vs. Professor Mark Gizenga Long, cautious match from both participants, but Gizenga was finally able to emerge victorious after locking in his Dissertation of Doom scissored dragon sleeper in the fifth and final round. Eliza Faulkner(MWWC) with Mackenzie Bergeron vs. Innocent Mugisha One sided demolition job in the favor of Faulkner, who seems to have finally taken the next step up, pinning Mugisha after a wrist clutch death valley bomb. Zulu Lionheart with Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) vs. Thiago Gracie with Jamie Tomasi and Angie Armstrong Career defining win for Zulu Lionheart, with the South African outworking the UCSS legend before scoring a third round submission win with the Lionheart Choke. Bonus Match: Colision Office Debut, Tough Guys UCSS Debut Colision vs. Anwar Omar with The Equalizer Strong win for Anwar Omar over the debuting Argentinian, who may simply not have had the tools to overcome the deadly side headlock of Omar, which of course, won him the match. Bitter Rivals(Ong Daengsri and Minerva Markovic) vs. Marija Pulev and Lula Bufona Big step forward for the team now known as Polar Opposites as they outworked the original UCSS tag champs with Marija Pulev punching her way to a TKO win over Markovic. --- Match of the Night: Onosa'i Tagaloa vs. Seong Jung Hwan -Again, the bonus match steals the show with a gritty, fast moving battle between two impressive ladies on the UCSS roster. Performance of the Night: Ibrahim Rahman, Big Banter Brand -While Rahman's landmark win over the great Jean-Pierre Mutombo has to earn him this honor, the victory Rory Banner earned by pinning UCSS Openweight champ, Hakim Fields in tag competition also has to count. Honorable mention to Lanna Ndi and Zulu Lionheart for their big wins, but they couldn't quite earn the award this time around. --- Injury Report Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun: Bruised Sternum (One Month Medical Suspension) -A kick to the chest put Shikongo-Calhoun down, with an additional one landing to her head before she hit the mat, but the medical evaluation stated that it was a shot to the solar plexus that incapacitated her, not a concussion.

[Two Thumbs Up] Honestly, I didn't believe they would stick the landing. Too much promised, too many doubts that built up over the last month. The Pan African Tour started poorly, and only picked up pace in the previous event. But forget all of the disappointments, the technical issues, the awful matches. Against all odds, we had a worthy finale that delivered spectacle and quality. No, we didn't get a MOTY bout here, but what we had was a worthy show that worked equally well as the concluding event of the Pan African Tour and the starting point for the rest of the year for the Office. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Pan African Tour 2023 Finale: Tunis, Tunisa - 9-22-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, September 22nd in Tunis, Tunisia Bonus Match Colision vs. Innocent Mugisha A good showing for the Argentinian luchadora and the Rwandan L-Pro Dojo prospect, putting on a fast, acrobatic bout that concluded in Colision pinning Mugisha with a running cross body. Main Event: Pan African Cup Championship Bout King Bemba vs. Lanna Ndi All too easy. Lanna Ndi completed her path to the Pan African Cup by landing a pinpoint liver punch on King Bemba to put him down for the count in under five minutes. The Cameroonian Kyokushin Karate warrior walked through a murderer's row, scoring knockout after knockout, and has to now be considered in a main event role in her home promotion, Universal Combat Shoot Style going forward. Pan African Tag Cup Championship Bout The Warbringers(Demarcus Browning(Rose Garden) and Moustapha Ndour) vs. Dynasty Cyclones(Layla Al-Amin(Phoenix Rising) and Nefertiri) Excellent match that saw the speed of the Cyclones and the power of the Warbringers clash, but in the end, the Warbringers were able to prevail when Browning was able to pin Al-Amin with the Browning Buster elevated jumping bomb to claim the 2023 Pan African Tag Cup. Morgan "Midas" Matthews Announces N9NE's Challenger for End Year Lariats As N9NE stood by, Morgan "Midas" Matthews and his entourage walked out, and motioned to the entranceway to reveal the return of Colossus Rhodes after his absence for over a year! However, soon afterwards, Senatorial Office Head of Operations Anthony Kalb showed up with his own microphone in hand. Anthony Kalb: Hey now, this is absolute nonsense. I'm not in the mood to wait half a year to see this giant slug get back into the ring, hey, Colossus, you want that shot, you gotta go through me, first! Anthony Kalb with Monica Tesfaye vs. Colossus Rhodes with Morgan "Midas" Matthews, Irkalla and Persephone And with that gauntlet cast down, Kalb bravely took on the giant, but Rhodes, having undertaken an excursion to the Realm of Wrestling during his absence, was not rusty in the slightest, overcoming a Capture Bomb from Kalb to utterly demolish him for the rest of the match, landing a Colossal Crush for a near fall, and closing out with a backbreaker into a giant stomp for a sub ten pin. Rhodes is back, and is more than ready to engage in a war of giants against N9NE at the end of the year! Worldwide Conquest Issues an Invitation to Ajax: A Brawl Follows Worldwide Conquest(ALEXANDER, Tarkhan the Mangler and Maximillian Francisco De La Cruz) vs. Peak Performance(Ajax, Dexa Jain and Daniel Ness) ALEXANDER offered a handshake to Ajax....but the big man slapped it away! Ajax: I run with my crew, on my time, in my way! I don't need to join anyone, I lead the way! And with that act of defiance, an unsanctioned brawl took place between the Conquest and Peak Performance. Ness was the first to exit after a Mongolian Mountain Bomb, only for Dexa Jain to even the odds by catching ALEXANDER unaware and throwing him over the ropes. From there, the Conquest was able to take over, eliminating Dexa and then fending off a hard bitten effort from Ajax to stand strong in the ring. Worldwide Conquest and Peak Performance are on an undeniable collision course now, and it looks like nothing will stand in the way of these teams. Pan African Royale AJ Mohammad(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Zulu Lionheart vs. Warsan Caliaah Ali vs. Esther Musambi vs. Anwar Omar vs. Ayanda(Blackwood Academy) vs. Mohammad Ramses vs. FENYANG Every bit the mess of a match as expected, with Zulu Lionheart showing up late to the arena, causing a delay. The South African eventually arrived in his street clothes to compete and the chaos was initiated. After a flurry of action, and the elimination of Mohammad Ramses, it came down to Lionheart and the Botswanan Heavy Metal Cowboy, FENYANG, who was able to hit his combination double diving headbutt, Aces High to get the pinfall and the final elimination. A great win for a man who was previously cut by the PEWA and seemingly floundering in free agency before his alliances with Thunder Fist and Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi pulled him back into relevancy in L-Pro. Dhani Faizan(Wrestle Parade) vs. Esi Dogboe Unsurprisingly one of the most exciting matches of the night and one that saw Esi Dogboe test her foe's limits. However, Dhani Faizan was able to meet and exceed the challenge before landing a beautiful combo into a split legged moonsault press for the pin. Pan African Cup Block B Finals Ibrahim Rahman vs. Lanna Ndi A shocking defeat for the Victorious Medal holder in his home town of Tunis, with Lanna Ndi outworking the technical expert on the mat to impose a sprawl and brawl attack before knocking Rahman out with a double roundhouse combo to the chest and head. Pan African Tag Cup Semi-Finals Congolese Connection(Jean-Pierre Mutombo and Professor Mark Gizenga) vs. The Warbringers(Demarcus Browning(Rose Garden) and Moustapha Ndour) Solid match between two excellent teams, but Demarcus Browning was able to pin Professor Mark Gizenga after delivering a spinning crossarm powerbomb. The Congolese Connection had their moments, but the Warbringers were able to bring a consistent mix of power attacks from two main event level competitors, and that was the difference maker here. Pan African Cup Block A Finals King Bemba vs. Shaka Corbin(Rose Garden) A brutal battle took place in this match, in and out of the ring, but King Bemba stood tall in the end after spiking Corbin with a sheer drop powerbomb hold for the pin. Pan African Tag Cup Semi-Finals GRANDEUR(Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan) and Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi) vs. Dynasty Cyclones(Layla Al-Amin(Phoenix Rising) and Nefertiri) Great win for the Cyclones, overcoming an intimidating combination of power striking and diverse skills from their foes, with Layla Al-Amin coming through once again with a shooting star press on Thunder Fist to push through to the finals for the Tag Cup. Bonus Preshow Match: SHINYSHINY91 Debut SHINYSHINY91(Reimi Makabe, Alice Yanagisawa and Akari Ikari) with G.P. Christopher vs. La Belleza, Betty Black Trunks and Leslie B.
