Honestly, Visual Concepts' NBA 2K games are rubbish too. I just don't think they're very good at this. Yeah I have been hearing this lately. Never played them myself.

I'm very intrigued to see what Yuke's new wrestling IP is going to be.

Honestly, Visual Concepts' NBA 2K games are rubbish too. I just don't think they're very good at this. I think 2K11 was one of the best basketball games ever made. When they hit the current consoles, there was a bit of a step back, but they recovered in the following few years and put out some quality games. MyLeague turned into one of the best franchise modes in any series out there. The problem came with VC and the monetized side of the game entirely taking over, and I think 2K got incredibly sloppy over the last few years in terms of their priorities, putting out half baked installments and ignoring any part of the game that didn't draw in sustainable income. I blame the marketing part of the company for that.

So putting my disappointment at all of the CAW glitches aside, I'm actually enjoying the Career Mode of WWE 2K20. It will never be accused of being high art and if you've played an NBA 2K Career mode, the corniness will be well familiar but I still think it's been a pretty fun ride and so far (maybe halfway through) I haven't encountered any game-breaking bugs or glitches. It probably helps that the people doing them are performer who are very used to speaking lines but the voice acting from the WWE superstars is a million times better than the voice acting from the NBA players, even if the writing is equally goofy. Still, for a game that has a LOT of things that need to be fixed, there's at least one thing that's going right for it out of the gate.....for now lol

Interesting vid on the backstage drama of 2K20 development and the parting of ways with Yukes.
It looks like 2K21 may also be in development trouble with some of the on-goings happening in the production offices with ten devs having resigned and difficulties dealing with management.

^ Love that guy's videos by the way. He's only done a few videos concerning wrestling games, but he's a major fan who manages to sneak in a non-sequitur wrestling reference in a few of his other videos.

So apparently the year 2020 has broken WWE2K20. There's some irony for ya.

Was the game ever playable? I saw glitch videos around release time and I’ve heard it’s one of the worst wrestling games made

It's playable when it works, but that's almost never. I wholly recommend against purchasing 2K20. Get 2K19 if you can, but I'm not certain how long the Community Creations will be available for.
You're better off with the PS2 era WWE games if you *really* want a WWE game.

I would expect a full refund if I had bought this game. It's insane how broken it is. And yes, I've liked other WWE 2K games, I'm not just bashing it. Everything I've seen about this game is just not acceptable.

Yeah, I actually love the gameplay of 2k20 but would never recommend that anybody buy it at the moment, though it IS much better than launch after two major patches. It's a goddamn shame because the game itself is tremendously fun.....when it works. Unfortunately, the reports about early glitches were not exaggerated and it launched as a complete mess that should never have hit the open market. Even though it's mostly working well now, I'd still caution against purchasing it because some things (namely, creation, which is personally a major deal to me) were just handled better in the previous iteration. There's also that terrible thing about the EULA of WWE 2K20, wherein if you accept it, you won't be able to go back and upload images/logos for creations into WWE 2K19 since THEY SHARE THE SAME UPLOADER >_< If you haven't bought a WWE game in a while, 2k19 after patching (remember, it was a buggy mess at launch too though not to this degree) is the better choice.

So almost a week after I call out a problem that's existed since launch of WWE 2K20, they actually fix it.
Apparently there's a toggle now when you upload custom logos. It enables you to choose which game (WWE 2K20 or WWE 2K19) your logos are going to.
Fingers crossed if it actually works without making 5 new bugs.
Nevertheless, it's slow but definite progress.
