Second volume of In The Mountains of Madness is in the mail now, I should have it by Friday. I have the first volume sitting right here but I haven't read it yet because I want to read through the whole thing at once rather than start and then wait a month for the next volume. It looks great though, it's in the small manga paperback format so you read from right to left which doesn't take long to get used to. Volume one of Blade Runner 2019 has also just arrived so I'll give that a read while I still wait for news of development of Blade Runner Black Lotus. I just pre-ordered volume 2, but that isn't due out until July.
Also on the verge of ordering the first 7 volumes of Goblin Slayer but I think I will wait until after Christmas before I commit to that. 9 shifts left to Christmas shutdown, then off for two weeks.

So apparently Funimation licensed the anime adaptation of the manga "Interspecies Reviewers" without actually investigating what the content of said anime (or at least its manga) was.
After three episodes, Funimation has pulled the series from its streaming service and effectively blacklisted it from its holdings.
Why?
Because the series is apparently a half step (not a whole one) removed from being an out and out hentai (i.e. x-rated cartoon).
You'd think that they'd have reviewed what the show was about (a group of buddies in a fantasy setting, who visit brothels and post reviews about their experiences with workers of varying species) before investing time and money into subbing and dubbing it.
For chrissakes, look at the cover to the manga's first volume

YES! I can't think of any current series that I'm more excited for the start of a new season than Castlevania. Gonna watch at least the last two episodes of Season 2 before I start Season 3. That "Bloody Tears" castle-storming montage became an instant classic on the first viewing.

Just randomly browsing the Amazon manga section and stumbled across a new volume of Black Lagoon that released back in January. Thought the series was done so I was thrilled to see it and ordered it immediately. Looking around at some box sets and I see they have One Punch Man 1-15 on sale which I am very tempted to pick up, but volume 20 is due out in July so I might wait until then and just get everything that is available all at once.
Still have the original Ghost in the Shell and Battle Angel Alita boxsets looking at me and the latest volume of Goblin Slayer is due any day now and I may pick up all seven volumes once that is in stock.
Want to get the Hunter x Hunter series, but there is still so many volumes of that I am going to hold out for a box set release. It worked when I held out for Berserk and Hellsing and both of those are getting deluxe editions released over time.

Just discovered Onihei Hankacho on Amazon Prime. Four episodes in and am liking it so far. It's based on an old 60's manga which in turn is actually inspired by the real historical person Hasegawa Heizō who was a samurai who formed an all samurai police unit in Edo called the Police Force for Arson and Theft. He was notoriously brutal to criminals, earning the nickname The Demon, but also installed one of the first institutions for criminal reform in which many former criminals would end up joining his police unit as informants.

I think I read a cuphead Animated show is in the works for Netflix, too. Thank goodness for video games now that Netflix has been gutted for content by millions of emerging streaming services! 🙂

Blade of the Immortal now getting the Deluxe hardcover treatment with the first set collecting volumes 1-3 releasing October 20th. Just pre-ordered mine.
Also just got a copy of Hanbei the Undying, a spin off story from Sekiro. Anyone who has played Sekiro probably remembers Hanbei the Undying, the forlorn immortal Samurai you can find near your base hub who lets you perform all your moves on him. Well he now has his own spinoff manga detailing his entire backstory.

Hmm, Netflix is on a tear with anime adaptations of video games it seems, and Dragon’s Dogma is next with a release date of September 17! The article even mentions possible Hyper Light Drifter, Assassin's Creed, and Devil May Cry (😳) series in the works! All of these from the same people involved in the Castlevania series that so many goodly C!C people seem to enjoy! 😎 www.ign.com/articles/dragons-dogma-netflix-anime-release-date

Wow, that's awesome!! 😎
I have never actually played an Assassin's Creed game but I feel it would make for a great anime.
In general, Netflix has a surprising ton of quality anime.
