if you were a gradechooler in the 80s or early 90s, watch this! (and those of you who weren't might still dig it too!)

Oh man, pure nostalgia! So many great cartoons. :) I remember recording the intro music to Wheeled Warriors with my sisters casette recorder. I also remember my parents warning me that The Ghostbusters cartoon would give me nightmares, so I wasn't allowed to watch it. :)
In Sweden during the early eighties there were some companies that imported anime as well so I grew up watching these. Did anyone else watch these as a kid? Starzinger:
Cyborg 009
Space adventure Cobra

I saw pics of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson and was thinking about his strongman stuff. Tangent brain activate, I started thinking about some of my all time favourite strongmen from when I was a kid and they showed repeats of old school strongman events. I remembered the impression this Jon Pall Sigmarsson quote made on my young mind... m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWUcHKAj_tcHe died years ago, but I always loved this guy and respected him as a legit Viking! there were so many CHARACTERS in the strongman circuit back then, this guy was always my fave, what a beast (there are shirts for sale featuring that timeless and all important quote.)! If I ever make it to Iceland, I want to visit his grave and eat a bag of nails and broken glass in his honour as I’m sure that was likely a common snack of his. Ah, the good ol’ Days where tough, crazy bastards just lifted heavy shit because they could, and didn’t need to impress anyone on Instagram. 🙂

On a completley separate note, Vince McMahon should set up a recruiting station in Iceland. :D

Wow, I LOVE that quote and video!! 💪😃 I used to really enjoy catching hours of back to back Strongman competitions on ESPN 2 back in the 90's and 00's. Something about a lazy Sunday of watching people move mountains for my entertainment, LOL. The "Viking Power" guys dominated back then and it was like watching legit super heroes just wreck random pieces of equipment. I also loved the characters too, these guys were over the top entertaining and were built for holding the world on their shoulders. Ah, the good ol’ Days where tough, crazy bastards just lifted heavy shit because they could, and didn’t need to impress anyone on Instagram. 🙂 Now'a'days you'd just have one hand competitions so they could use the other one for selfies 😁

What do you get when you hybridize a toned down, less spastic version of Terry Crews, Rudy Ray Moore’s Dolomite, and the sheer power and size of Ronnie Coleman? Why, you get CT Fletcher and his Ten Commandments of muscle growth of course! m.youtube.com/watch?v=q-6M4uzur8Q

That brings back some fun memories. That was one intro I rarely skipped before playing, my buddies and I used to mark out hard when the truck driver would see Stinger in the road and say “what?!”! That’s a nice redo!
