Good news, everyone! I'm still technically alive.
Not sure why I'm here, but I have been playing the shit out of Street Fighter 6 for the past year. The character designs, modeling and animations are still impressive to me.
I find it funny that while I've played dozens of fighting games since the early '90s, I didn't really start playing against other people or somewhat learning how to play them until 5-6 years ago with SoulCalibur VI and now SF6. Maybe I just like sixes? If we ever get a Virtua Fighter 6, I'll have to play that online too...
Anyway, I want you to know I love Manon as much as a man can love a computerized image of a supermodel ballerina judoka. Which, it turns out, is a lot.
Can I work another Futurama reference into this post before I finish it? No, I guess not.

Good news, everyone! I'm still technically alive. JB!!!! Welcome back!!!!! 👋😁 Not sure why I'm here, but I have been playing the shit out of Street Fighter 6 for the past year. The character designs, modeling and animations are still impressive to me. I got really into SF6 last summer. I was playing it almost every day, especially World Tour mode. The animations and "impact" of the moves feels amazing. Anyway, I want you to know I love Manon as much as a man can love a computerized image of a supermodel ballerina judoka. Which, it turns out, is a lot. Yeah, she's my favorite new character too. I especially love the judo moves but I really like how they combined it with ballet style. I like her personality the best out of the new ones too. Have you been playing FPW at all recently? 🤼♂️

Manon rocks, her style is wonderful and I absolutely love how her throws level up in a match, if you can get to the point where she's landing flying death valley bombs, your foe is toast.

Have you been playing FPW at all recently? 🤼♂️ Man, you know it's been almost 4 years since I last posted here? That was after I released a move for FPW, and I planned on making more moves. Aaaaand I haven't actually played the game since then... Despite that, I founded a Fire Pro club in SF6 (of which I am the only member because I never promoted it or anything lol). (Though I may finally play it again relatively soon, as I'm considering getting a new PC which could actually run the few games I own, since I'm still using a nearly 10 year old laptop.) In another FP/SF connection, I was in the Battle Hub a few months ago and happened to see an avatar with a classic Fire Pro wrestler name over their head. My brain was like, "Wait, that's familiar. Where do I know that from? Oh my god, it's a Fire Pro name!" I just had to message them about it and they said it was the first time anyone actually recognized it as a Fire Pro reference in the 20+ years they'd been using the screen name.
Great to see you around, JB! Funny enough, I just paused SF6 for a moment when I saw your post here. This reminds me I also saw a user with the name "The Senator" in the Hub a while back and it made me wonder if it was you. The fact that they were using Zangief at the time made me wonder even more (being a wrestler, and all).
The game has also done a good job of making me like characters I never really cared for in previous installments, like Cammy and Dee Jay. I think the only one I truly despise is JP, but even that might mean they did a good job with him too since he's supposed to be an antagonist. And unlike SoulCalibur where 99% of my matches were with 1 character, I've even ranked (to at least Platinum 1) everyone except for Ed and Akuma thus far.

Man, you know it's been almost 4 years since I last posted here? That was after I released a move for FPW, and I planned on making more moves. Aaaaand I haven't actually played the game since then... That move you made was so perfect that there was nothing that needed to be done with FPW afterward 😁 Despite that, I founded a Fire Pro club in SF6 (of which I am the only member because I never promoted it or anything lol). For a second I imagined you walking around Luke's Dojo in World Tour mode trying to get the NPC's into SF6. (Though I may finally play it again relatively soon, as I'm considering getting a new PC which could actually run the few games I own, since I'm still using a nearly 10 year old laptop.) Nice! I hope you can get back into it! I really enjoyed Cammy's interactions in World Tour mode. I haven't used her much though. Dee Jay is really fun. I think my favorite characters from the original cast are Ryu and E. Honda. I like Zangief a lot too. Manon is my favorite new player with Marissa as runner-up.

M.Bison, Terry Bogard, Elena and Mai Shiranui announced for Year 2 of Street Fighter 6. Guess we've got Capcom vs SNK 3 now?
I was hoping Bison would stay dead...

M.Bison, Terry Bogard, Elena and Mai Shiranui announced for Year 2 of Street Fighter 6. Guess we've got Capcom vs SNK 3 now? Wow, was totally not expecting SNK to low key advertise the new Mark of the Wolves by putting in two characters in SF 6 😂 I'm pretty excited to use Terry in SF 6!! I don't know if we'll get more SNK characters but I hope they at least consider Geese for Year 3... I was hoping Bison would stay dead... So basically, screw Bison and the horse he rode in on 😁 Explosive amnesia story aside, I think they did a great job with his playstyle. I love those new forearm combos and he plays in a very aggressive dominant way that reminds me of his SF 2 character.

Wow, B. Jenet trying to dethrone Mai there 😁
Actually love that she has a counter special. I don't remember her having that in the original.
Vox has a really unique look. His movements pop with this engine. and seems to be a new variant of the "really strong puncher" build that they've done before with Yashiro and Shen Woo.

B. Jenet has always been a great cheesecake character and she lives up to her reputation there lol. Vox has an interesting look and his moves look really meaty, which is awesome. I'd be surprised if he's not some sort of gangster/criminal, storywise. I actually came in to post how despite not being the biggest fan of anthologies, Capcom has me by the shorthairs with the announcement of the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.
MvC2 is probably my all-time favorite fighting game (Soul Calibur 2 is the other one in that esteem) and I always loved its predecessors, so having them all together in a single collection is like a bucket list dream come true.
With that announcement and that of the Fatal Fury guests in Street Fighter 6, hopefully we're not too far away from a long, long overdue re-release of the Capcom vs SNK games.

Hi Marsh 👋😎 B. Jenet has always been a great cheesecake character and she lives up to her reputation there lol. Vox has an interesting look and his moves look really meaty, which is awesome. I'd be surprised if he's not some sort of gangster/criminal, storywise. Good call on the gangster angle. I could see his character being somewhere between Shen Woo and Yamazaki. His fighting style definitely feels like an evolution of Shen Woo/Yashiro which I love. I actually came in to post how despite not being the biggest fan of anthologies, Capcom has me by the shorthairs with the announcement of the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.

Okay and you just made my day 😁 Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter is my favorite fighting game of all time. I have waited years to have access to it again!! I never had a Saturn otherwise I would probably still be playing it. I really enjoy X-Men vs. Street Fighter too but MSH vs. SF is my jam. Also, the games will have online playability too! www.marvel.com/articles/games/marvel-vs-capcom-fighting-collection-arcade-classics-announce-trailerWith that announcement and that of the Fatal Fury guests in Street Fighter 6, hopefully we're not too far away from a long, long overdue re-release of the Capcom vs SNK games.
Maybe a Capcom vs. SNK 3 in the future too 😁

I picked up Blazblue Centralfiction and Street Fighter 6 during the Steam sale.
Platinum the Trinity is so wacky, and AKI is weird and creepy. There is no in-between for me, lol.
Also, yes, I am a glutton for punishment and picked two of the gimmickiest characters to main that I could think of.
I'm using a keyboard as a Hitbox stand-in. I like it more than an arcade stick so far. It's taking some getting used to, but playing games with a keyboard and mouse for 20+ years has made the adjustment much easier. I've got to rebind a bunch of buttons for more optimal play, but I'm enjoying these games so far.
