I re-structured the first post of this thread to include all of the drafters and edit choices. I wanted it to be easier to access that information rather than having to find it midway through page 2 of the thread. I put the original information from the first post in spoilers there. The order of drafters will be posted there on 7/8. And once the actual draft starts on 7/11, all of the drafter picks for each round will be posted there. I said that I would close submissions and the member list on 11:59 PM on Wednesday, July 7. But if edits roll in a little after that, I'm still going to add them. Really, I'm still fine adding edits and drafters up until I actually sit down and finalize the drafter order list on July 8th. After I post that order list, I'll be closing the draft to further edits and potential drafters. I really want people to have 3-4 days to figure out their own draft lists based on the available edits before the first drafter gets to make their pick on July 11. (And remember that everyone has 24 hours to choose an edit when it's their turn). If edits keep rolling in up until that July 11, it will make it too hard to finalize the lists. (Heck, in just the last day, DP and Jett posted enough new edits that I had to significantly reconfigure my own draft list!). That's why I want to cut off the edit submissions sometime early July 8th. And once I make the drafter order list on July 8th, I can't have new drafters come in. So if you are still uncertain about whether you will be drafting, let me know by July 7th at the latest. Remember, you can always just draft for a round or two and then leave after that. There's no pressure to hang around until every edit is picked clean. Anyone can drop out at any point. As for EDITS, if they got a name they'll have full movesets, AI, Stats. If they are templates (DP01 - DP whatever I got up to) they they'll have template moves and logic. That's really cool that we have some full edits in there!! Definitely spices this draft up a little. I have both types of your edits on my own personal list right now, appearance-only and full. He's finding his footing and developing his own style, but he's not quite there yet. Comes in both developed and youngboy flavors. Second we have a sinister, rule-breaking villain who has vampiric serial killer vibes. Very Gangrel-played-by-Kevin-Sullivan. Maybe he's a cult leader, maybe he's just a lone maniac. YOU decide! Third we've got a sumo wrestler turned pro wrestler! Palm strikes and throws are sure to abound whether he's a shoot sumo or just a fat guy who's been dressed like one. Maybe he's Japanese. Maybe he's Hawaiian or Samoan. Maybe he's actually just a fat white guy with a tan. WHO KNOWS! He's sure to be a force to be reckoned with. Just look how big he is! Lastly we have a cruiserweight who can strike and grapple in equal measure. Maybe he's a shooter, maybe he's just really good at pretending, one way or the other he's bound to be exciting, gentlemanly, and in no way problematic! He also doesn't have any shitty tattoos! I finished my fourth edit for the draft: Goose Egg 4: Rockaresu I went for an 80's glam rock star look for the first and second appearance. The fourth appearance is full concert attire. I wanted to mix it up a little though so I gave him kind of a hybrid MMA/NJPW shooter look for the third attire. I kind of imagine his main pro wrestling career (represented by his first and second attires) being more sports-entertainment like. So thought up a quick backstory that he either started as a legit wrestler/fighter or wanted to prove he could fight stiff after his music career. |

Got another submission coming, as I got too many ideas in mind to make into full wrestlers, so I'm taking the less cohesive ones into drafts, such as this Welsh lady who looks to have stepped out straight from the 14th century, Aria Holt.  "Renaissance Faire regular and part-time catch wrestler Aria Holt is the sole female of the stable known as the Battle Bastards, a group of technical wizards who wrestle in Medieval Attire. As skilled as she is on the mat, Aria also has a bit of a nasty side to her as well, dishing out soccer kicks, knees to the head (Which is scary, given the fact that she puts on steel kneepads), and headbutts a' plenty! Despite this, the fans still love her for her no-nonsense attitude, hard-hitting strikes/slams, and grappling prowess." Note on attire: Around the area of her pants, it's not a pattern. It's intended to be a pair of Chausses/Hose. |

The edits I've submitted are all appearance only, these descriptions are just me explaining the gimmicks I had in mind while making them. Which, admittedly, might knock them down people's lists. EDIT: Three new wrestleboys for your consideration! These three could be called my "no five stars" trio. First we have a big guy who's definitely a powerhouse, even if he doesn't necessarily have any kind of technical skill to speak of. But, boy, he sure is jacked to the gills! Comes in regular, under-a-mask, off-cycle, and rookie flavors. Second is a small guy who, man, just looking at him, you'd think he's too small to be a wrestler. And you'd be right if he wasn't a wrestling savant who can outthink much larger opponents! He's not a *natural* athlete--I'd go so far as to say he is not an athlete--but he knows how to use the environment and his opponent's weaknesses to his advantage. And lastly we've got a really tall guy who's not great at what you might call "wrestling," but he makes up for it with the ability to throw a punch, look scary, throw guys around sometimes, and hit people with weapons. May accidentally injure his opponents. Often. |

I feel like my current edit-making mentality relies too much on movecraft stuff for the MMA positions and a few small moves to include. And my parameters and stuff are geared toward creating shorter matches with an upper limit of ~130 points used which is a very different edit philosophy than most people seem to go by. So I figured, at least for this draft, I'd stick to just attires to avoid my poor creations being jobbed out all the time with their low defense parameters. |

Probably my last entries for the draft, I've got three more for your consideration! First is a maniacal manchild, that sort of monster heel that you'd pair up with a charismatic manager who manipulates them into doing their bidding and hurting their enemies. Comes in four distinct flavors including monster, sadist, playful, and business. Second is your standard issue Latino workhorse with loads of untapped charisma and potential. He's not where he should be and he's willing to lie, cheat, and steal to get there. And then, once he's there, he'll cheat again. And finally--actually finally, my eighteenth submission--it's everyone's favorite crab-based wrestling superhero! He's here to save the day and make sure everyone goes home happy! Comes with two out-of-shape, nostalgia-run costumes and two in-his-prime youngster costumes. That's gonna be it from me, no more this time. I probably could have cracked thirty by the end of the month, but with the deadline on the 8th, this is a safer stopping place. Because otherwise I'm just gonna keep making edits. Next draft I'll think about releasing a few from my full universe, there are definitely enough of them that I could send out to work other territories. Hope people find at least one edit of mine that they want to draft away, I tried to do some variety. Below is a master list of my edits and a super short one-line description of each. Thanks to everyone for the submissions over the past two days!! 🏆 You guys keep making me reshuffle my list to add in the new ones 😄 gurf - feel free to post those new edits up today/tonight when you get a chance. Love the attire and color scheme of the one you already posted. Reminds me of GTA 3: Vice City 😄 Very glad to see another one from Knocked! Love the Renaissance Faire idea with Aria! Johnny, that monster edit looks REALLY scary especially the leather outfit 😲 (I hope someone drafts both our monster edits and forms a team with them or has them as rivals!) DP - that DP18 edit is intriguing to me. Has that gritty, rugged ole guy look that probably can have Bret Hart style unlimited spirit 😁 A few housekeeping things: 1) I want to confirm 2 people's participation before I make the draft order list.
LankyLefty17 - You still want to be on the drafting list, right? I put you on it but realize that I didn't confirm with you. desertpunk34 - You weren't quite sure if you wanted to draft. I think you should for a round or two though. But let me know for sure at some point today. Once I get confirmation on these two, I'll make the draft order and put it in the first post. You don't have to draft for every round. You can agree to draft early and then leave in round 3 or something. 2. This isn't a requirement but I really recommend it. Everyone drafting should send me a list of the edits you want in the order you want them.
Everyone will have a full day to draft. Around 11:45-11:59 pm of each day, if the designated drafter hasn't yet made their choice on their own, I will choose for them using the top entry on their list. If they haven't given me a list or there are no edits left on their list, I will have to move on to the next person. So it benefits everyone to send me your list and have a LOT of back-ups beyond the main edits that you want to choose. I won't actually use your list until the very end of the day. That way, you can still improvise and choose who you want before I make the selection from your list. My own main list has 13 edits and my back-up has 10 in case some of the 13 are taken before I can choose them. 3. Most edits are Appearance-Only but tell me if your edits have moves and logic.Right now, I think only DP has some edits with moves/logic/etc in addition to appearances. If anyone has edits with more than only appearances done, let me know and I'll mark it on the list in the first post. I will be doing another draft later in the year (likely around New Years) with full edits. This draft was just intended to have appearances but I really appreciate DP donating so many full edits to give us variety and more to choose from! 👏 Also, anyone else who wants to spearhead another draft before my next one, go right ahead 👍 |
