Hello! Nice thread. Can anyone tell me from which game is this wrestler or his name? Do you have any more photos of this Wrestler? Preferably full body shots.

Decades later, the era of 80's Professional Wrestling continues to inspire tributes in video game form.
In November, 80's Mania Wrestling Returns two card variants. The first variant is: "Debuting in the upcoming NOV UPDATE!
MR. MASCULINE claims to have scaled the mountain of manhood and now he looks down upon all competition!"
Mr. Masculine is based on 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff. The second card variant is: "Debuting in the NOV UPDATE!
Hair: Bleached. Body: Tanned. Muscles: Unbelievably large. But one thing is definitely real about IDOLO BRONZO: he's a force to be reckoned with!"
Fans believe Idolo Bronzo is based on Austin Idol, with a touch of Dino Bravo thrown in. The July update of Modern Mania Wrestling featured the inclusion of two new characters: "Coming from a family of tough guys, sumos, and hunks, the Tupola Twins are determined to take the tag team legacy of their lineage to new heights!"
The Tupola twins are based on The Usos.

Once again, into the world of ultra obscure Japanese mobile games we go:
All Japan Pro-Wrestling Micro Rumble Round 1Known in Japan as '全日本プロレス~MICRO RUMBLE'Year: 2005 Platform: Mobile Developer: Maniappli By 2022 standards, very little is known about Micro Rumble. The site which once hosted the game (maniappli.com) is no longer online. Though, an official press release still remains: 'On 25 July, IOS will start distributing the full-fledged fighting action game "All Japan Pro-Wrestling - MICRO RUMBLE" on the EZweb game site "Maniappli". The monthly information fee for the site is 525 yen.
With the full cooperation of All Japan Pro-Wrestling and LEGLOCK, this action game features the real names of main players such as Keiji Mutoh and Satoshi Kojima, and pursues realism in character movements and expressions. The players themselves in the ring of All Japan Pro-Wrestling are said to perform techniques according to their individual personalities.
The game offers two modes: a series mode in which players fight through a total of 10 matches, and a sparring mode in which players select their opponents.'From the screenshots and promotional photo, we can assume Micro Rumble had at least four AJPW Wrestlers to choose from: Keiji Mutoh, Satoshi Kojima, Taiyo Kea and Toshiaki Kawada. I would imagine matches were relegated to strictly 1 - on - 1 affairs as well. Additionally, the final boss of Maniac Pro-Wrestling from the PC Engine is pictured to the right: Visually, he reminds me of Genichiro Tenryu. The boss seems to use a backdrop as a specialty move (which may be inspired by Jumbo Tsuruta). You can watch the final battle here:

First and foremost, I would like to wish all of our readers and contributors a safe & happy holiday. Not to mention, a wonderful New Year as well. This Christmas Eve, I'd like to take a moment to leave a few Wrestler appearances under the Critical Club Critmas tree (see what I did there?): Our friends over at whatculture.com compiled their own list of Wrestler inclusions with an article called 10 Video Game Characters Loosely Based On Wrestlers. Most of the list we already covered, so let's take a look at the less obvious mentions: #7 - Abigail (Final Fight)On previous pages, we already talked about this Final Fight boss. Whatculture believes Abigail may have been based on Road Warrior Hawk. Though, I feel Abigail's facepaint and name are more closely-inspired by King Diamond's stage paint and 1987 album "Abigail". King Diamond wouldn't be the only metal/hard rock inclusion, as Final Fight also features enemies named Axl and Slash from the band Guns N' Roses. #6 - Abadede (Street of Rage) This one is pretty spot-on. Warrior was the WWF champion at the time, so it only made sense for the man billed from Parts Unknown to end up in a video game or two. #5 - Mr. Flexington Game: Borderlands Pretty spot-on reference. Portraying a middle-aged Hogan.

The next mobile app we're going to take a look at is Rumble Wrestling: Rumble Wrestling features 12 characters to unlock. Most of which being a mix between WWE superstars and superhero characters. For legal reasons most likely, the cast remains unnamed in the latest version. The first Wrestler is a cross between The Undertaker and The Rock. Graphically, the character sprites remind me of WWE Battlegrounds. Each character has a similar super-deformed look. The second Wrestler is a tribute to X-Men's storm. The third is a tribute to Tiger Mask; the only Puroresu-inspired character. The fourth is what happens if Goldust and Stardust started listening to KISS. The fourth is a tribute to Joaquin Phoenix's adaptation of The Joker. The next set starts with the mandatory Rey Mysterio knockoff. Followed by Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns and Ryback look-alikes, The last batch starts with a Wrestler that looks like a cross between Big Van Vader, Fatal Fury's Raiden and Sheamus. Next up is a John Cena clone followed by a puzzling addition that reminds me of members from The New Day. Rocky Balboa appears as a common enemy in boss fights. For an unlicensed game, Rumble Wrestling brazenly includes illustrations of actual WWE Wrestlers. There are 80 levels in total. Most of the bosses are superheroes (such as Bane or a Luchador dressed as Wolverine). Though, I have also faced Connor McGregor and Harley Quinn as recurring enemies.

The biggest stars of the WWE and Lucha Libre have shrunken down into cube form! Tumble Wrestling is a mobile game released by Gruffzilla on August 20th, 2020. The object of Tumble Wrestling is to knock the opponent out of the ring. Once a player's life bar reaches zero, the player will be temporarily stunned, giving the opponent the opportunity to toss the player out. The sprites, music and overall feel of Tumble Wrestling bring to mind memories of the 8-bit era of video gaming. Every Wrestler has a unique finishing move that is triggered with a button mashing sequence. Pulling off finishers leads to the player collecting coins, which can be used for boosting character stats. Modifying a Wrestler's stats is pretty much mandatory in regards to progressing further in Tumble Wrestling's other divisions. The most annoying gameplay addition are match interruptions. Whenever a player is low on health, a second Wrestler will almost always interrupt the match; coming to either player's aid. In later levels, match interruptions happen more frequently; making a tough battle almost impossible to win. Every now and then, interruptions will work in the player's favour, allowing up to four players to duke it out inside the ring. Unfortunately, a tag team option is not available for regular play. The first screen of unlockable Wrestlers. There are 36 Wrestlers to choose from, each based on a recognizable Wrestling legend and organized into their own "division". Beating every Wrestler in a division unlocks the next division. The Wrestlers for the first division " POWER HOUSE" are: Block Solid - The Rock Sensei Masahiro - Ricky The Dragon Steamboat Badger - Toad Warrior Animal Boomerang - Road Warrior Hawk War Bird - The Ultimate Warrior Big Alfredo - Andre The Giant The Wrestlers for the " LUCHADOR" division are: El Jefe - Eddie Guerrero El Leyenda - El Santo El Mito - Blue Demon El Hombre - Mil Mascaras Dragon Drop - Ultimo Dragon Xavier Strange - Rey Mysterio Jr. " PRIME TIME"Fly Guy Khalu - Jimmy Snuka Loud Langston - Roddy Piper Big Jim Deere - John Cena
Sanford G - Junkyard Dog Major Massacre - Sgt. Slaughter Willie McFearsome - Macho Man Randy Savage " SHOWTIME" Plinko The Clown - Doink The Clown The Mirage - The Iron Sheik The Investor - Ted Dibiase Kwame Puma - Farooq Ken Kobra - Jake 'The Snake' Roberts D ante Inferno - Bam Bam Bigelow "PARAMOUNT"Innisayne - Mick Foley (get it? In-sane) Ubuntu - Kamala Benito Sharp - Razor Ramon Spider Face - Sting Brock Swinehart - Bret Hart T. T. Titan - Hulk Hogan (probably short for "Titan Towers") " ULTIMATE" Nick Nack - Ric Flair Grand Finale - The Big Show Dark Rider - The Undertaker Slasher - Kane (probably a homage to Kane's gimmick inspiration: original slasher icon Michael Myers) Moon Face - ??? (I'm guessing Darksied, but could be wrong) Vladimir Pummelov - Zangief I really wanted to like Tumble Wrestling more than I did. The quirky art style is retro-cool and the assortment of Wrestling legends brings back plenty of nostalgic memories. Taking notes from games of yesteryear, Tumble Wrestling starts off easy enough, but quickly increases in "Nintendo Hard" difficulty by the third playthrough. Add in the annoying aspect of frequent 2 on 1 Wrestler interruptions along with slippery controls and the later levels become a real headache. I made it all the way to the very last opponent of the "Ultimate" division: Vladimir Pummelov (Street Fighter's Zangief) ...who proceeded to pummel me in seconds. Constant finishers, flawless manoeuvring around the ring and almost-instant recovery. 50 tries later, I decided to call it quits on Tumble Wrestling. The Red Cyclone's spinning piledrivers were just too much for me.

Fans of 1985 Arcade Wrestling classic Mat Mania may be surprised to discover an unofficial sequel, that was released exclusively for Apple devices: Slam ManiaYear: 2019 Platform: Apple IOS devices Developer: Easy 8 Software Originally announced back in 2017, Mat Mania markets itself as a tribute to 80's Arcade Wrestling. Tommy is a direct update of the Mat Mania protagonist (who is believed to be based off of Dynamite Kid). The Mohawk-clad Mad Moose looks like a watered down Insane Warrior (who was based off of The Road Warriors). Kid Turbo brings to mind Coco Savage (who was based on Tiger Jeet Singh), but that's reaching. Jobber Joe is the green Luchador, while El Diablo is Joe's palette swap in magenta. Both are based on The Pirania (Mil Mascaras). Slam Mania's official description also lists Wrestlers by the name of Chen Lee and Beardo. I'm guessing both Wrestlers are based on Karate Fighter (The Great Kabuki) and Golden Hulk (Bruiser Brody).

" ULTIMATE" Moon Face - ??? (I'm guessing Darksied, but could be wrong) Vladimir Pummelov - Zangief
I'm very intrigued to know who Moon Face is based on. Don't think it's DC Darkside. Nice to see Zangief in the mix. Since we don't really know who Moon Face is, this makes Zangief the only video game wrestler in Tumble Wrestling.

Moon Face is the sub boss before Zangief. To me, Moon Face's appearance also looks a little like Anakaris from Darkstalkers (but I know I'm way off).
Moon Face's special is "Moon Beam Splash" if I recall.

Pro-Wrestler likenesses aren't just found in video games. In the last 25 pages, we also covered tabletop board games going back to the 1980's. Today's entry focuses on Wrasslin'; a board game released by Avalon Hill back in 1990. The cover of Wrasslin' looks just like your typical, early 90's PC Wrestling game. The Wrestler performing the toss looks like Sting, facepaint, blonde hair, crazy tights and all. The Wrestler being thrown out of the ring reminds me of Tom Zenk or a young Mike Rotunda. Wrasslin' includes cards with generic characters seemingly based on real-life Wrestlers. The above manual scan includes a card of Jamie "The Blacksmith" Kneeshurt; a character obviously based on Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart. With his headband, facial features, and the feint of impression of a moustache, I believe "The Champ" is based on Hulk Hogan. Strange, as Ultimate Warrior was the Heavyweight Champion around this time. Despite his "Urban" background, I feel Block Buster is based on The Iron Sheik appearance-wise. Ali "The Rabbit" Mohamed is clearly based on Muhammad Ali. We'll look at more character cards from Wrasslin' after these messages. Stay tuned!
