The biggest stars of the WWE and Lucha Libre have shrunken down into cube form!
Tumble Wrestling is a mobile game released by Gruffzilla on August 20th, 2020.
The object of Tumble Wrestling is to knock the opponent out of the ring. Once a player's life bar reaches zero, the player will be temporarily stunned,
giving the opponent the opportunity to toss the player out.
The sprites, music and overall feel of Tumble Wrestling bring to mind memories of the 8-bit era of video gaming.
Every Wrestler has a unique finishing move that is triggered with a button mashing sequence.
Pulling off finishers leads to the player collecting coins, which can be used for boosting character stats.
Modifying a Wrestler's stats is pretty much mandatory in regards to progressing further in Tumble Wrestling's other divisions.
The most annoying gameplay addition are match interruptions. Whenever a player is low on health, a second Wrestler
will almost always interrupt the match; coming to either player's aid.
In later levels, match interruptions happen more frequently; making a tough battle almost impossible to win.
Every now and then, interruptions will work in the player's favour, allowing up to four players to duke it out inside the ring.
Unfortunately, a tag team option is not available for regular play.
The first screen of unlockable Wrestlers. There are 36 Wrestlers to choose from, each based on a recognizable Wrestling legend and organized into their own "division".
Beating every Wrestler in a division unlocks the next division.

I really wanted to like Tumble Wrestling more than I did. The quirky art style is retro-cool and the assortment of Wrestling legends brings back
plenty of nostalgic memories.
Taking notes from games of yesteryear, Tumble Wrestling starts off easy enough, but quickly increases in "Nintendo Hard" difficulty by the third
playthrough. Add in the annoying aspect of frequent 2 on 1 Wrestler interruptions along with slippery controls and the later levels become a real headache.
I made it all the way to the very last opponent of the "Ultimate" division: Vladimir Pummelov (Street Fighter's Zangief) ...who proceeded to pummel me in seconds.
Constant finishers, flawless manoeuvring around the ring and almost-instant recovery. 50 tries later, I decided to call it quits on Tumble Wrestling. The Red Cyclone's
spinning piledrivers were just too much for me.
