I know McGregor is by no means an angel in all of this with all the shenanigans that happened before the fight was really a thing, but that doesn't excuse Khabib and his crew for losing their minds and jumping McGregor's crew. could result in a title strip and some serious visa issues. Just a total shitshow. What a load of shit that was, eh? It was kinda funny hearing the condemnation of Khabib's side, especially since the WWE, uh, UFC has been promoting the fight using constant footage of McGregor CRITICAL!ing a bus with a fucking dolly. An act that resulted in serious injuries and would have landed any of us slugs in jail, but one that he skated away scot free from and actually was used as a promotional tool. There's a serious lack of PROFESSIONALISM from a lot of the high profile assholes in the UFC, they need to reign it in or something really stupid and unnecessary will happen soon. Pretty sad actions by the new champ after the promo stuff painted him as the humble challenger. What a crock, fun to watch from a chaos standpoint, but pretty sad.

There is solace to take when you think you have a bad day and then see pro-bowl kicker Mason Crosby for the Packers miss 5 kicks totalling 13 points. The Packers lost by 8 today. Ouchburgers.
Overall, this has been a terrible NFL season for kickers. Something must be going around the locker rooms or something.

I was wondering how long ot was going to take for O'Dell Beckham Jr to have a meltdown after getting paid that silly contract of his. The answer is 5. 5 games. Ah ah ah ah ah!

He's had a pretty good career and is one of few kicking specialists that I took an interest in during their college careers. I didn't doubt that he'd be fine after such a horrendous game but it is almost "Disney movie" poetic for him to have such a stellar one immediately afterwards.

I understand the whole "we are professionals, not mere pugilists" but there's a long history of violent feuds between camps and this is downright tame compared to the dojo wars of the 1970s. Although I suppose the "somebody tried to burn Pettis' house down" is a bit closer.

More GLORY kickboxing stuff, this one from GLORY 60 Superfight Series in Lyon, France. Dmitry Menshikov vs. Samuel DbiliThe fight only lasts one round, but gets pretty interesting at around 3:10 - 3:15... :) Menshikov is only 20 and fights out of the same gym as Artem Vakhitov, this dude looks legit, what a loaded division for GLORY. UPDATE: Also, THIS! Abdellah Ezbiri vs Victor Pinto (only a replay of the outcome, replay of the good stuff starts around the 30 second mark) The Pinto brothers are not my favourite fighters to watch (because they're kinda cocky little turds), but they're not hacks by any stretch, so seeing this heat seeker of a kick crush Victor was a bit of a surprise! Beautifully timed and executed kick straight to the LEEEVER (Victor stayed down for a long time after that one)! OT: I have NO IDEA how GLORY isn't catching on mainstream, it is such an awesome display of stand-up mastery! The combos, the distance control, the footwork, it's beautiful! Just like any combat sport, you'll see some less exciting matches, but bang for your buck wise, this shit is consistent!

The New England area has a realistic chance at a triple crown championship.
The Red Sox are World Series favorites.
The Patriots are struggling by their standards, but never count them out. They may be starting to peak again. I would not put it past them to return to the Super Bowl.
And the Celtics should be a top seed in the East and go all the way to the NBA finals.
I don't think any region has ever won a triple crown. The New England area could be the first.

Los Angeles has an outside shot as well. The Dodgers are also in the World Series. The Rams are humming along with a 7-0 record. Chargers not far behind. But the Lakers, Clippers, and Kings all won't make the postseason this year. Los Angeles does have a realistic chance at back to back championships with the Rams and Dodgers.

Yeah, I can't rightly stand the Red Sox but Manny Machado is such a fucking asshole that he actually makes me want them to win the World Series. Before the series over, I hope someone puts a heater right in his douchey little eyeball. Can't suspend him though because "ratings." MLB deserves the tailspin that it's in.

Machado is a real prick. Loved it when he struck out to end the series though. Thank god my Brewers won't have to deal with him next year as he's most likely going to the Yankees. Which means your Royals will see him for a couple series. Sorry, Marsh.

There have been some great individual performances in this young NBA season with a 50 point explosion from Blake Griffin and Klay Thompson breaking teammate Stephen Curry's NBA record for threes in a game during his 52 point outing this past Monday.
My new favorite happened tonight though. Former NBA MVP/superstar Derrick Rose recorded 50 points for the Minnesota Timberwolves in a win over the Utah Jazz. Not only did he lead all scorers and record the game winning buckets but he also blocked the would-be game-tying shot in the final seconds. All in all a pretty awesome game from a guy who many have written off completely after several major injuries, 3 teams in the last 12 months, and just never resembling anything close to his MVP self from 2011.
As a lifelong Bulls fan, I couldn't be happier for him and while I don't think we'll be seeing many more nights like this from him, I hope he has an amazing season and shuts down all of the haters who said he didn't belong in the game anymore.
