I never did play Metal Warriors. Looks like a really fun game from videos I just saw!!
And yeah, Virtual On was incredible in the arcades and also on the Dreamcast, especially if you had the special controller. I think my friend had one of those. It was an incredible mixture of a fighting game and feeling like a robot LOL 😁

I was looking through old screenshots and found this one of a glitch I'd never seen before and haven't seen again since. I was watching a Royal Rumble when Christian went for a splash on somebody as another competitor went for a pin or hold on his target. Usually that would make him crash land but he must've hit with such frame-perfect timing that he got stuck like that until the next entrant. They were even pushing him around the ring like that with their movements.

So I own an X-Box One but not a PS4, so I wonder whether anyone on either side constantly have the same issue.
Any time I want to download/install a big game, the system will prompt me for permission to instead install the game on my 1 TB external USB hard drive that's connected to the X-Box. It asks me every single time to press 'yes' and it gets a little annoying.
Also one time, I forget what game it was, but it asked to install on the external drive, I said yes, but then it informed me that, while most of the game will be installed there, it still needed to install some of the game onto the console's drive, and I still had to free up space there for it to do that. Like, jeez.

Like, jeez. PS4 won’t do that for an external drive, but I think you have to set whether you’ll use the external or internal drive in the settings. That Xbox thing sounds like a bit of a pain in the ass, though! 🙁

Yeah, there's a setting for whether new downloads default to the external drive or internal storage. I've never had it tell me I needed to put part of a game on the internal - I've got a 5TB drive and almost everything I've ever downloaded is on it.
I seem to have the opposite problem - I think certain apps (like Netflix, what have you) have had their update data downloaded to the external drive even though they're supposed to be internal.

I know esports are a big deal now but it still seems weird to see them get some of the same treatment one would see for a more traditional sport. Like, Overwatch League matches on network TV or replica jerseys for sale. Stuff like that.
I saw a giveaway offer for autographed player cards when I was stocking earlier, is mainly what brought it up.
I even found an app a while back that was basically an esports team management sim, which is a little too meta for me.
I mean, nothing against professional players if they're getting paid decently and are still having fun but it's like, man. When did this get so big?

I still feel like so much of it is just money coming in trying to make it into a big thing. The pandemic helped it some being a thing that's still easy to run without being in person. It all just feels like a scam of some people trying to get as much money from Sponsers before they run off like back in the day.

Today's my birthday and I've been thinking back to a present I got on a previous birthday, Baldur's Gate.
I've never actually gotten to play it.
I first got it when it was new but I wasn't used to checking recommended specs on games because every computer game I'd tried so far had worked, so this was the first time I ran into one that didn't.
A few years later we got a newer computer and I tried it again. This time it actually worked! I watch the intro, I create my character and... the game crashes. Oh well.
It would be another few years before we changed computers again so, in the interim, I let my best friend borrow it. After getting it back I try to install it only for the installer to stall out part way through due to my friend not exactly being the best at taking care of things. Alas.
I could probably just get the disc cleaned or, at this point, I could probably rebuy a digital download off of GOG or something, but I haven't had the patience for an RPG in some years.
And that's my experience with Baldur's Gate, a present I got when I turned 15 where all I could do with it was read the manual.
