Pit Fighter is one of my favorite bad video games. I even thought about making Buzz on FPR once.

You know, Buzz looks a lot like a certain favourite wrestler of mine, Skip something, perhaps? Wait, he has quite mastadonic quads, never mind. 🙂

Guess who I found on Steam. Cannot vouch for whether the edit has an appropriately awful kick but he does have a mullet. The creator has Ty and Kato as well if you're interested.

There are a lot of things that seem strange about going back to Revenge if you're used to the later AKI games but I don't know if there's much stranger than seeing Kevin Nash do a plancha.

Nash actually did a pescado (technically) at least twice, believe it or not. I remember seeing him do it as Diesel, during his title run, and at least once in WCW too. It didn't look like the pescado in the game, of course - he's so tall anyway he basically just pushed the top rope down out of the way en route to tackling the guys (I think he only ever did it to decent sized groups because, well, who's signing up to catch Kevin the fuck Nash on a dive of any kind?). Okay, I decided to look and someone actually made a video of the handful of times he did it. (Spoiler alert: apparently Mabel and The Giant were each cool with catching Kevin the fuck Nash.) Oh wow. Nice find, thanks. What's wilder is seeing The Giant catch him like that. Giant was an ABSOLUTE beast. He's like if you were playing wrestling games as a kid and coming up with the most ridiculously over the top wrestler. "Yeah, my guy, he's 7'4", he's like 500 pounds, he's basically infinity strong, he does like superkicks and dropkicks and like the best chokeslam ever, and he's basically invincible." You'd get laughed at for making up such an impossible guy if he didn't actually exist. I love Big Show from any era, the man's the most talented giant to ever step in a wrestling ring, but there was just something special about "The Giant" era. Just this impossible cheat code of a wrestler, who came out of nowhere, with no music, no name, no history, and was just this complete unstoppable force. Hm. Might have to make The Giant in FPW sooner rather than later. |
