I am especially happy today because I received my letter of eligibility to be a teacher in my State earlier this month and today it was confirmed my application has been processed with my County Public School Board. I can now start applying to schools.
I am happy at the thought of embarking on a career.
I graduated at the age of 21 with a degree in Theology, while I've never recanted on my faith, it was always a struggle with not being able to become a minister, having a huge debt and a feeling of wasting my time.
I had to work a lot of jobs, some pretty menial, lately it's been getting better. Now thankfully, it looks like I will be able to start a career in my early 40s as a schoolteacher. It's not just a job, but something that I can be proud of and for which I can have a genuine passion.
That's awesome, dude! 👏 Congratulations on taking the next step in a career that you truly care about. Best of success on the road that follows! 😄

Happiness is progressing on the road to normalcy after enduring one of the most traumatic experiences of my life a month ago.
Something "broke" in me afterwards but today was an important step towards resuming my life on my terms and I'm feeling good now.

Good thing I am holding off on getting my PS5 until next year; Hollywood Collectables Group moments ago announced a new Tomenosuke Blade Runner pistol variant releasing in December and I had that sucker pre-ordered before I even finished the announcement e-mail. That will bring my collection up to 9 in total.

Not to piggyback off your post but I think I'm finally starting to head that way myself. I fell into a bad depression after moving but I think on some level it was more like I was mourning. I said once that there was more to the story with that house and I may elaborate on that soon. In the meanwhile, I think I can say the mourning period is subsiding. Things could still be better but I feel a little more optimistic again, though I don't want to say that too loudly.

I'm really glad that both of you are heading in a better direction 😎
But I'm also sorry that you both endured so much pain over the past few months.

Happiness is getting an impromptu promotion which will give me some sick leave while I'm at home quarantining for Covid (I tested negative initially but share a living space with someone who did test positive).
I communicated with my supervisors about the situation immediately. Unfortunately, this was a few days after they gave me a "vote of confidence" about my performance thus far. They discussed the potential of moving me from seasonal to permanent sooner than customary but I thought that that might be in jeopardy with a prolonged and unexpected absence. Instead, they expedited that promotion with the consideration that I can still get some pay during my time away, as now I have sick leave (and I believe there's even a special provision for Covid related sick leave). I also get vacation (in 6 months, anyway), and access to insurance benefits. I can't express how good something like that makes me feel. They certainly didn't HAVE to give that to me at this juncture but they did. That's frankly a level of solidarity that I never would have expected and it makes me feel very fortunate that they're willing to look after an employee like that, even a seasonal one. After being sidelined by something so terrible, something very positive came out of it for me and I couldn't be more thankful.

Being on call and not getting called in. One of the best feelings ever. I'm on my official countdown to being on vacation and hope I can make it without being called in over the next four weeks.

I know I must now be in the last 12 months of car payments over a five year car payment plan because the dealership keeps emailing me with upgrade offers to try and keep me on the books. 12 months to go and then I'll have an extra $500 in the bank every month.

Didn't get called in to work on my Saturday off and won $113 on last night's lottery ticket.
EDIT: Nice, won an additional $47 on my follow up ticket.

Vacation booked tonight at work. Just over a month off this winter. Looking forward to when I have enough vacation time to take two winter months off.
