steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1690340255This is my first finished creation. The Mallard is a Duck themed(?) Lucha wrestle based on my friends design. I used DJKM 90's luchador as a template. It's really still a work in progress and I would love to hear some critiques, advice, and ideas to make him more unique. My plan is a typical babyface for the small underdog fighter, who usually comes back to win. He is too trusting of others. He trains hard everyday to be the best wrestler and he will not let anything hinder him from proving he is. He should be the first of a few wrestlers I'm making for a promotion called CWC(full name currently being revamped) I hope to also put photos of the wrestlers on here when I figure out how to do that. Edit: Can someone help me give Megastar a theme?

Welcome to the C!C! 😀
Really love the design and concept for The Mallard! The duck-themed lucha mask is brilliant! 🦆
I can't say I speak for all avian life here at the C!C but the Mallard certainly has my seal swan of approval!

Thanks I was surprised at how bill like the mask actually turned out. It was my friend liking the part the best and then me trying a few things to cover up a couple flaws and it actually looks like a bill in certain angles. My friend want wings in different places but unfortunately fire pro doesn't have wing parts of any kind.
The whole idea of the duck themed lucha was my friends idea from when i tried to run a wrestling table top RPG. So I decided to try to make him to create my small promotion to run.

Seconding Geese's post, great concept And you can sort of do wings by using the torn sleeve part over one of the narrower shoulder pad parts. Makes the shoulder pad look feathered or something, from some angles

Sorry. >.> ~~~ As someone who's original collection of edits chock-full of avian attackers, it would be a shame if there wasn't any fowl play here.

I have added two new wrestlers steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1694460631Matthew Nagano is a powerhouse wrestler brought into the MWWC to oppose the small but talented Mallard. Nagano is way into Bane from the movie Dark Knight Rises and tries to incorporate that into his wrestling persona. He's based on DJKM's 90's Powerhouse template and still needs a lot of work to become more unique. (I'm always looking for help.) steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1694460785Second up is Megastar a high flying wrestler who's persona I'm still trying to figure out. (Megastar is the first female wrestler i make in every wrestling game i play and looks different everytime so I haven't found her persona yet) She is based on DJKM's US Junior and also needs a lot of work I have now started a collection for my edits in the newly reformed CWC now known as the MWWC. (My promotion has the most back story out of anything so far but still doesn't have a logo) steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1694465584(also i have spent little time being active on forums, what is the best format to post pictures in?)

Any kind of image hosting site you can find should do. Imgur is an example.

My first full creation I started. No templates just me attempting to make an edit. NJPW DLC steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1698859537Cody is an old friend of the Mallard from when they started in the industry. Cody turned heel and betrayed his partner in C.H. BWAM, Bryan. He went on to form the heel stable Cody Club with an Macho Man inspired attire with a Knockoff Cody Rhodes and a Wrestler cosplaying Cody Travers. When Cody felt that the club was no longer helping him he left them behind, too. Soon after he found himself on the free agent market again when the Mallard reached out to his old friend turned rival to join the newly forming MWWC. Cody gladly accepted, with a plan to humiliate his old friend. His finisher is the goodnight sweet prince/princess/child(depending on the opponents preference, he's an asshole but he still respects their pronouns) which is what he whispers as he performs the move. Cody and Grimm still need some work and I am hoping someone can help me out.

So I came up with an idea for a french Canadian wrestler named Jean Défaut. It started as John Default since he was just gonna be a pallet swap of the default wrestler so I could make a wreslter fast. Decided I wanted to make him french to have his last name pronounced differently decided to check the the literal translation and decided it works so he became Jean Défaut)
So I'm wanting some help on his moveset and logic. I figured if i decided to keep the joke and give him the default settings he may not work well with my wrestlers. SO i just make him a wrestler with a submission finisher since i currently need one for my promotion.
TLDR Is the default moveset logic gonna be a problem with my wreslters? or should I just make a wrestler with a submission finisher?

For one thing, it sets the wrestler to come off the top rope entirely too much, and there'll be issues with other things as well.

Here's the funny thing. Unless I'm making a boxer, as I'll copy from the closest fighter for intricate balancing purposes(there's a lot more at play with a lot less), I'll make all my new edits from scratch using the default. Since I know that there's a lot with the default template that I don't like, I'll end up having to change every single category. But that's not a bad thing. In doing so, you learn a lot about making edits and making them in your own style. You'll not take anything for granted and you'll pick up some good techniques as you do so.
Now, I think you'll be good with some templates for a while, but it's a practice that I find keeps me on my toes and ensures that I consider every category with due thought when I make a new edit.
And I should certainly say that there's no "right" or "wrong" way to go about making an edit. Everyone has their own habits and styles, and I'm not saying you have to do things my way. Take what works, make it your own.

I have made one completely from scratch but that took me a lot of my time that I just don't have much of right now. The other issue is I don't have much of an understanding of what even makes a moveset balanced. I look at the guide everytime I work on an edit. The guide refers having a moveset build to a finisher and I don't fully understand what that means. Also, is there an easy why to tell what part a move is damaging?
