Is anyone else struggling to put on popular cards? I'm set up with the vanilla promotor, nothing custom, using japan strong style. I've been able to pick up two contracts so far who are fairly popular, or at least more popular than my starting roster, but a lot of my matches are in the 70% range. Like it almost feels like you dont want to use anyone with a D in popularity but my current tag champ and light heavyweight champ is a D in popularity. He's obviously winning matches but isn't becoming more popular. Anyone else struggling like this, anyone else struggled like this but figured out how to get over the hump? Wrestling quality matches and winning will increase popularity over time. If you are simming it may be hard to get good matches depending on the quality of the CPU logic from the edits being used. It may be worthwhile to play the matches and learn how to pull off good and or great matches. Reliably being able to pull off good matches 80%+ will help popularity go up relatively quick

Just shooting the shit, since I refunded the mode and don't play it yet, but--- Just like in real life. The RoH or NWA champ doesn't get more over by winning matches for the same crowd. Can you bring in someone of higher popularity and play the match to have them win? It would bring in new eyes to the product, sell more tickets, and then more people would be aware of your champ and help with the popularity.

Ive played up to June and had 11 100% CPU vs CPU matches.
All captured on my YouTube too. Matt Robinson is godly.

How are the bear characters handled? Are they treated like serious contenders, or entertainment style wrestlers?

How are the bear characters handled? Are they treated like serious contenders, or entertainment style wrestlers? I've only used the Brown Bear (or Bear Brown as he's called in game) for a couple of shows. I was scared he'd murder my top guy but he actually lost, then on the 2nd show he beat one of my midcarders, so he's no major threat. A Japanese fed has snapped him now so I can't use him. Moveset wise, it's very similar to the FPA2 Bear but no where near as aggressive, he'd literally shred guys to pieces

Small observation that maybe others have already noticed. It looks like matches where underdogs win tend to get really high ratings. I imagine because they tend to be very competitive and a big dog fight before the underdog pulls off the win meaning a lot of 2.9s.

Is using 6 megastars to start financially viable on easy mode? Maybe even on normal? Wanted to start with Omega, Okada, Goto, Ibushi, Styles, and Nakamura.

Anyone finding this really easy?
End of year 4 & I've got $14 million sat in the bank
I think one of the things that makes it a breeze is that no one tries to poach your stars, not one of my original roster have left to join a bigger fed

I understand it's to make the mode more challenging, but having ALL participants involved in a match become unusable when one of them cancels their appearance for "personal reasons" is pretty dense.
I had one card where two guys in separate matches cancelled, instead of just booking the remaining two opponents in a match together the event was just short 2 matches ?!?
Also, does anybody know if you still have to pay the people that no show?

I guess the point is to not rely too heavy on outsiders.

I'm digging the mode a lot but honestly having good edits that reliably put on strong performances really makes the game easy. In motw I played the majority of my matches so I could inxrease the chances of getting good matches with the occasional duds. Now just by simming i routinely get 80s, 90s and 100s. There is practically no risks going on for me as long as I make sure I am mindful of budgeting. Within ten months I've made over a million with an A in popularity in my home region. My guys are woefully underpaid, considering the grest work they consistently do since the majority of them cost around 600 bucks. Even with high end raises some of them are only beginning to make 1300

I've gotta admit, I'm enjoying the hell out of this
It's addictive, I get that "one more card" feeling every time you come to leave the game
I'm really liking discovering the free agents, I really do hope they become usable for Exhibition or their data becomes available. I don't think there's anything special about them, their logic's kinda wonky & you do really have to watch the matches & be careful on who you match up to get the best out of them but that's a big part of the fun
I've found two American Showmen who have move for move, the exact same moveset. Not sure wether this is an oversight or there's some connection between the two, they do look a bit similar. It could be a Ryu - Ken relationship :D
There's also a Japanese junior, Stan Hansen tribute. A little stocky guy in a leather cowboy waistcoat who does the Texas Longhorn taunt & finishes with an Axe Bomber
I've also found White Bear now, the panda
I'm only going the Showman route so each time you start a new save it'll open up more guys

i have just started trying out the promoter mode.
i see that you can only have one match type for all 10 matches. very bummed out about that. why would anyone want 10 steel cage matches on a card? lol.
no ring designs? im not sure how you wouldn't be able to have the ring designs i have and just put them on the rings in the promoter? im not a programmer so maybe its difficult to do.
also, it says that i have to run high rated matches in order to run a tournament? is there a way around this? i want to have a tournament to determine my first champions. maybe im going about it wrong. i just dont want to grab 2 wrestlers and have them go for a vacant title. i like to have a tournament and have everyone have a chance to win the title for the first time. not sure if im explaining myself correctly!

Okay age definitely matters. One of my upper card guys just unexpectedly retired. Checked his birthdate after the fact and it was 1900. He was a grim reaper-esque character. The same month kenta kobashi(in another Fed) also retired. Now I'm worried about other vets I have.
