PC players who have preloaded AEW have done some data mining and it looks like an online 30 man Battle Royale mode is going to be available at some point. Going to be called Stadium Stampede mode.

As a huge Double Dragon fan, I was excited to learn about the release of Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons. The Dragon series has done away with 3D graphics, and have returned to the franchise's humble old school roots. There's also the ability
to play as baddies such as Abobo, Chin, Linda and Burnov. Along with these recognizable faces, I noticed the inclusion of Big Boss Willie and
Duke (the boss of Super Double Dragon - and playable character in the NEO GEO fighting game).
Once I get my computer reformatted, I'll give the game a test spin on Steam.

I've never played a Balders Gate game before, but it seems I can't go anywhere without tripping over a glowing article about how great Balders Gate 3 is. I guess I may end up picking it up in September when it hits PS5. Also Lords of the Fallen previews are coming out and it's been getting the same positive feedback.
Now I gotta finish Aliens Dark Descent. 40% through the game on my 3rd restart, trying out different strategies. Still loving it and hope it either gets DLC or a sequel.
Definitely has the same addictive Darkest Dungeon game play loop. Tweak your Colonial Marines abilities and stats, send out squads to farm XP and seek out supplies and survivors to bring back to your ship which affects your ship management meta game. Like Darkest Dungeon you're not only dealing with the physical toll on your marines but also the mental toll they undergo as they build up Trauma's which can alter their effectiveness. Game definitely builds stress as the longer you stay in an infested zone the more agitated the local hive becomes slowly increasing in difficulty. Sometimes it's better to hide from that lone drone instead of taking it out and alerting the hive to your presence. The worst is having a marine either knocked out, in a coma or suffering an amputation in which you either have to leave them or use another squad mate to slowly try and carry them back to the APC for evac. Or seeing one of your squad getting dragged off for implantation, hoping you can try and rescue them in time or having to leave them to their fate.
Of course in games like this where you can customize your characters I have my marine platoon comprised of friends and co-workers as I often do in games where you can customize a roster of characters. So far only 3 KIA and a couple marines having mental breakdowns on a regular basis.
Every day that passes in the game increases the infestation rate of the planet giving you essentially a time limit, although due to fan complaints the devs actually included in the most recent patch the ability for players to turn off the death clock and removing the time limit if you want.

Borderlands Pandora's Box Collection releasing on all platforms tomorrow. Discount for early buyers and an additional discount if you already own any games in the collection apparently. But a nice all in one package of all the Borderlands games for anyone who is into the series or who has wanted to get into it. |
