End of June looking fantastic. Wish I had some more vacation time to really take advantage.
Also a retro classic RTS inspired by C&C in the works now for wishlist on steam.
EDIT: Final pre-release trailer

AEW Fight Forever Road to Elite trailer.
Ultra Pro Wrestling official announce trailer. Dev says this is actually older gameplay footage and by the end of the August they want to release a new gameplay trailer showing the updated graphics. But damn, it looks like AKI.
Artist Hal Haney has created 100 fictional wrestlers which will represent the default roster. Also devs plan on bringing every single move from the entire AKI series of N64 games to be the default move library for the game before they start adding new moves. Of course VPW2's MMA component is also in the game. And of course the notice of Chris Candido being confirmed as the first licensed DLC wrestler and apparently there are several more licensed wrestlers waiting in the wings to be announced. I also like in the last Q&A the dev said that you will be able to create your own custom arena's from pre-made templates they are putting in the game, but you will also have full control over the lighting systems. Doesn't seem like much, but creating the Tokyo Dome, Budokan and Korakuen Hall will all be possible complete with their real lighting setups.

Super Mario RPG Remake announced at Nintendo Direct.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder also announced.
Also, this looks pretty badass. From what I hear apparently their can also be dud explosions pretty similar to the one that actually happened in AEW.

Wonder looks… wonderful! 😁
Pikmin 4 looks pretty bad ass as well, decent little Direct, all remakes aside.

Some more AEW footage. The fact this can be done in player vs player has me hyped for what else we can do. The devs speak in an interesing interview on how the game came to be and what the plans are. Does tip toe around CAW question. Sounds like it's going to be pretty bare bones at launch. But potential cross promotion DLC has me excited.

Metal Gear Master Collection Volume 2 leak suggest it will include: Metal Gear Solid 4 Metal Gear Peacewalker Metal Gear Solid V www.ign.com/articles/metal-gear-solid-4-finally-freed-from-ps3-as-part-of-leaked-metal-gear-solid-master-collection-vol-2Pre-orders for Metal Gear Master Collection Volume 1 appear to be up for all platforms now for a October 24th release.
Also, in Ultra Pro Wrestling news, Bryan Clark (Wrath) officially joins the roster.
Back in WCW Revenge he was intended to be on the main roster but was left out in the final version of the game. His partially created character could be found in the game data with a hacking tool, but after all these years he finally gets redeemed in an AKI spiritual successor.

This was my guess for volume 2. I'm so glad we are finally getting 4 on something other than PS3.

I was really hoping AEW Fight Forever would be good, but after seeing a ton of footage leaked over the last couple of days....my hopes are pretty much dashed.
The core gameplay might be really fun....but the game is sorely lacking in features.
Road To Elite (aka the only thing in the game resembling a career/story mode) looks AWFUL. It's super basic, annoyingly repetitive and packed with ridiculous minigames. The creation suite is bare bones (very small number of hairstyles, no face morphing, no custom logos etc), and you apparently need to run EVERY created wrestler through RTE mode to increase their stats. Not good. Plus, there is no equivalent to WWE 2K's community creations, so there's no way to share or download created wrestlers.
There's a maximum of 4 wrestlers in the ring at once (no trios matches here), the match types are very limited (we get barbed wire exploding death matches, but no cage match? Ladder matches can only be 1v1? huh?) The roster is also badly outdated: many wrestlers are in gear they haven't used in two years, and the current tag team champs are only being offered as DLC. The base game has a roster of 52 wrestlers. AEW has about 200 wrestlers under contract.
This is just not acceptable in a full price game in 2023. Even if it gets patched down the line, it's being released in a pretty sorry state. I'm glad I held off on the urge to preorder, we'll see if this game is anything approaching decent in a few months once it sees some updates.

This was pretty much my expectations for a first outing. Even though yukes is experienced making wrestling games this is a new engine so I'm sure almost all their focus was just on the gameplay. And then whatever issues they had to getting the game out made the roster even more out of date than WWE games are.

Gameplay is one thing, but a huge part of a games replayability is in the features. This game doesn't seem to have anything to do other than playing exhibition matches with the default roster.....which will be fun for probably a few hours. That's not worth 60 bucks IMO. If they were selling this game at a $20-30 price point I'd have no problem.

Don’t worry, from initial impressions, it will be $20-$30 soon enough 🤣 I guess this just goes to show how hard it is to keep everyone happy. Gameplay suffers, creation suite is good, or vice versa, someone will always be pissed. Even with the good intentions, sounds like these guys bit off way more than they could chew, maybe a lack of clear direction as well? Seems a bit of a sample platter that doesn’t commit to any one thing? Also, Super Mario Wonder looks great!!! 🐘🍄

So we get extensive cutscenes of your RTE wrestler eating avocado toast and taking goofy selfies, but no decent creation mode.
We get potentially fun retro gameplay, but increasing your stats is gated behind success in Mario Party mini games.
The game went 2 years and 20 million over budget. It's obviously suffered from schizophrenic direction during development. A bunch of cool little ideas, but no clear overall vision. *shrugs* Oh well, maybe next time.

$20 million OVER budget? What did they start out at?! 😳
I stopped paying attention to this one a while back, I didn’t realize it was so far delayed and over budget. Big budget to hand to a full time wrestler, has he been involved in any game development prior to this one that anyone knows of?
What a bummer, seemed like the project started with good intentions, but lost the way at some point. Mini games to increase stays though? Maybe it will end up surprising everyone in the end?

My understanding of it based on what I've read is that unlike a regular video game licensing deal (where AEW licenses their brand to a Game developer, the developer incurs the costs to make the game, and then they split the profits) Tony Khan personally ponied up the dough for most of this. They started with a budget of around 10-15 million, and it ended up ballooning to close to 40 million.
Any features could be added or changed down the line I suppose, but I get the sense they were just desperate to get the game finally released to recoup some of their costs.
