Joking aside, it would be awesome if Sony (or whoever) was able to buy Konami's properties and do something more than all the vigorous nothing that Konami's doing.
The thing that might suck is that they've been rereleasing a lot of their old stuff (Contra and Castlevania collections, SOTN is on phones now) and they might see that (and the Pachinko stuff) as being enough of a low-effort, consistent revenue stream that they won't want to sell it for a reasonable price.
Still, I'd love to see something happen. I'm a big Castlevania fan in particular, and Konami has shown zero interest in making new games involving any of those things for years. I'd love to see those properties in the hands of someone who wants to actually make games in them.

I hope someone picks up MG, Silent Hill, and Castlevania. First world problems in the grand scheme of things, but it’s almost criminal that those franchises are languishing in gaming purgatory. I can’t imagine what could be done with silent hill in the right hands these days! Imagine a silent hill 1 and 2 reboot in the vein of the RE2 rerelease? What’s been going on with Trevor and Alucard? It’s been years since Dracula took an ass kicking, he’s due! And metal gear, come on... 🙂
While we’re at it, give ninja gaiden to someone responsible (FROM or Platinum Games would be nice) and draw Itagaki back!

The only reason I haven't ruled it out yet is because Sony has filed Legacy patents for all their older generations. I'm guessing now they're deciding how they want to go about it; streaming older games, emulating older games or using the PS5 hardware to try and run them natively.
Other than that we don't know much else unfortunately. The Xbox fandom is currently in their circle jerking phase over the difference in Tflops, but this pattern has happened with every console release between Sony and MS. I'm seeing devs all over twitter posting that they don't know what all the fuss is about, the PS5 looks like the preferred system to develop on, but the layman is just going by whatever has the bigger number on the spec sheet.

All of this spec shit has proven meaningless over the past couple console generations, these pricks just release a “pro” or “slim” version or two within six months of launch anyway.
Everyone laughed at Miis, then both MS. and Sony brought in avatars, Xbox one reveal guy got booed mercilessly for stating “backward compatibility, that’s backwards thinking” and it ended up not only being a feature, but one of the only redeeming qualities of the Xbox one. Did the 3DS really need a “New” version after consumers bought the launch version ( still pisses me off, I’ve never played Earthbound and thought it would be great on 3DS, but I only have the vanilla one). Etcetera etcetera...
I bet Sony will offer access to slightly upgraded titles in their library via streaming, and B/C for PS4 titles, but I can wait this shit out, I have a backlog that will keep me busy for the next two condole generations! 🙂

Sunset Riders confirmed to be coming to the PS store in the next wave of arcade classic releases. Played a ton of it in the arcade and then again when it released on the SNES.
