April house show is done and dusted. Some interesting stuff coming out of this one. Quick Results Melody Bryant def. Vanessa Saunders Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney def. Rule XXX Helena Lundgren def. Maria Marella Naoko Yoshida def. Rhiannon Banes Wild and Wilde Inc. def. Virginia Caldwell and Fiona Walsh Nana Yoon def. Asha Nelson Baby Peregrine def. Kasey Ryder, Jessica Kimblee and Shiori Yoshida Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers def. White Hot Write-ups This might've been the most purely dominant performance Melody Bryant has ever given. Vanessa simply couldn't keep up with the raw power of Melody's suplexes, but it was that devastating elevated crab that finally sealed the victory. Could this be a turning point for Melody's career? One hell of a wild brawl here, with nobody willing to give an inch to their opponents, even with Trish Michaels busted open early on by Angela Rothenberg's brutal clap kicks. It took just the right opportunity for Brianna Tierney to finally lock in her Dragon Clutch, but this could've easily swung in either direction from the beginning, especially seeing Rule XXX firing with some incredible teamwork. Maria did her best to try and stay ahead of Helena's raw power, but the Swedish powerhouse finally started to hit her stride late in the match, and didn't let up from there, delivering a series of brutal suplexes before landing her Bow Down powerbomb finisher to put this one away in dominant fashion. Fiercely competitive right to the finish, with Rhiannon just coming at Naoko time and time again, trying to topple the tag champion. But Naoko was relentless in her attack as well, wearing Rhiannon down, and finally managed to lock in one of her signature submission holds to force the young Welsh rookie to tap out. Another intense tag match here, with Wild and Wilde proving the better team through isolation and teamwork. A crushing Tower Hacker bomb from Josie Wilde laid out Virginia Caldwell, and Heather Wild cut off the save to score the big victory. Almost effortless from the former Academy Champion, absolutely wiping the floor with Asha Nelson and easily bouncing back from her defeat at the hands of Kasey Ryder last month. Also a good sign for her upcoming tag title match at the end of April... This match had a simple rule: Anyone that outlasted champion Kasey Ryder would get entered into the Academy Championship match at April's live show. But the story turned out to be all Baby Peregrine, sweeping the field single-handedly and ensuring that this month's championship match will be a 3-way affair. For as good as White Hot's become over the past year, Diosa Syringa reminded everyone that she's one of the best there is in the Academy, and alongside Emma Travers, they wore down Keiko Maeda, and Syringa eventually trapped her in one of her submission holds to force a near-instant tapout.

We're coming up on this month's live show for the Blackwood Academy, and the card's been lined up and ready to roll for Saturday night. Heather Wild vs. Maria MarellaWhite Hot vs. Virginia Caldwell and Fiona WalshJessica Kimblee vs. Asha NelsonVanessa Saunders vs. Emma TraversRule XXX vs. Rhiannon Banes and Melody BryantJosie Wilde vs. Brianna TierneyHelena Lundgren vs. Angela RothenbergNana Yoon and a mystery partner vs. The Yoshida Twins for the Academy Tag Team ChampionshipsDiosa Syringa vs. Baby Peregrine vs. Kasey Ryder for the Academy Championship Heather Wild kicks off the show in singles action as she prepares to face off with Maria Marella. Heather's technique has certainly improved in her time with the Academy, but can she measure up to Maria, who only seems to get better each month?
White Hot has seen their fortunes vary all over the place as of late... victories, defeats, but one thing's for certain, they've never been stronger as a team. This month, though, it's going to be tough: Virginia Caldwell and Fiona Walsh will be out to make sure that Keiko and Rei are put in their place, and with their brand of submissions, they might have the answer to White Hot's attack.
Jessica Kimblee is still a newcomer to the Academy, but no doubt she's making quite the splash, even as her tag team partner holds the Academy Championship. Jessica will have a shot to show her own stuff against Asha Nelson here, but she'll need to stay sharp: Asha's been showing flashes of greatness as of late.
Vanessa Saunders has sought to fight her way back up the rankings after falling short in her early attempts to capture the Academy Championship: and there's no better way to prove herself than by taking on one of the Academy's veterans in Emma Travers. Still, Emma could prove to be a nightmare opponent for the former kickboxer: the doctor's legwork is a dangerous proposition for someone who focuses so heavily on her legs for offense.
Rule XXX hasn't found as much success as they would've liked thus far, but their fortunes could easily change at any moment. And against the slumping Rhiannon and Melody, they could find exactly what they're looking for. Tara and Trish will certainly be looking to take advantage of the slump these two are going through...
Josie Wilde hasn't been seen in singles competition quite as often lately, so it's easy to forget how dangerous she can be. Brianna Tierney hasn't gotten as much of a chance to show her stuff, but she'll certainly be tested against Josie here, as the Irish rookie attempts to weather the storm of lariats and power that Josie brings to the fight.
Helena Lundgren has perhaps fared somewhat better than her partner, Vanessa Saunders, when it comes to singles action lately. But she's likely to run into a bit of a wall here if she's not careful: Angela Rothenberg has been looking to show that she's better than her record would suggest, and her power could easily turn the tables on the young Swede.
With Baby Peregrine having earned a shot at the Academy Championship, and her team with Nana Yoon next in line for the tag titles, a decision had to be made... and the obvious one was made, as Peregrine chose to go straight for singles gold. This left Nana without a partner for her title match, however... and so, she'll find herself a new partner to challenge the Yoshida Twins, in the hopes of bringing home the titles. This could be the end of Nana and Peregrine as a team... and could tip the Academy roster, somewhat.
Finally, the main event: The Academy Championship on the line, as Kasey Ryder defends against not only #1 contender Diosa Syringa, the veteran, but against the young woman who's already outlasted her once: Baby Peregrine. The odds are stacked badly against Kasey... can she hope to come out on the other side with the championship still around her waist?

April's show is wrapped up, and the landscape of the Academy continues to change. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/602951288Youtube: youtu.be/qlx3jg4x3IoQuick Results Heather Wild def. Maria Marella Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell def. White Hot Asha Nelson def. Jessica Kimblee Emma Travers def. Vanessa Saunders Melody Bryant and Rhiannon Banes def. Rule XXX Brianna Tierney def. Josie Wilde Helena Lundgren def. Angela Rothenberg The Yoshida Twins def. Nana Yoon and the debuting Lexi Dawson to retain the Academy Tag Team Championships Diosa Syringa def. Baby Peregrine and Kasey Ryder to become the NEW Academy Champion Write-ups Strong opener from these two, who have both become well-known for their workrate over their time in the Academy. But Heather Wild would come out ahead this time, landing a float-over DDT to pick up a hard-fought victory. Virginia Caldwell and Fiona Walsh seemed intent on halting White Hot's momentum here, and Fiona didn't hesitate to make sure it happened that way, even as Rei Hasegawa took a page from Virginia's own book... locking a kneebreaker on the former shoot-fighter. But Fiona had already sealed the win over Keiko... a distraction that likely, meant little in the end. Asha Nelson was on a mission in this match: she wanted an Ankle Lock submission, come hell or high water. And ultimately, despite Jessica Kimblee throwing gutbusters and backdrops galore, Asha got that submission she'd been after, forcing her to tap to the ankle lock for a big victory. Vanessa Saunders certainly didn't seem to intimidate Emma Travers, and the kickboxer never quite managed to bring the full brunt of her offense against Emma... in fact, she took a harsh kick from the doctor instead, but refused to tap out to Surgical Precision... only to get snapped up in a flash pin moments later to give Emma the win. Melody Bryant wasn't about to let her team's place in the rankings be threatened... and while this match was pure chaos, as it usually is with Rule XXX, Melody didn't slow down, landing a hard German suplex on Tara while Rhiannon dealt with Trish. This was a sprint, in every sense of the word. Nobody slowed down for a second here: Josie was throwing bombs almost straight out of the gate, but Brianna gave as good as she got, firing back with a big move of her own to score a stunning victory, turning the tide in an instant. This match, meanwhile, was easy to call a "hoss-off", even if neither woman here is exactly huge in stature. What Angela and Helena are, however, is strong... and they displayed that strength on each other throughout, throwing each other around the ring, sometimes OUT of the ring. It wasn't Helena's power, though, but her technique that finally brought this one to a close... locking in a brutal submission and forcing Angela to give in. The Yoshida Twins remain at the top of the heap when it comes to the Academy's tag division... but Nana Yoon and newcomer Lexi Dawson didn't make it easy, with Lexi showing incredible agility, pulling off some truly impressive moves throughout the match. But Shiori Yoshida would prove the decider in this one, catching Lexi in a flying armbar and forcing the rookie to tap out, and keeping the tag titles firmly on the Yoshida Twins. It was a three-way contest: and you know exactly what that entails. It was chaos, wild and unpredictable, with nobody seeming to quite get the upper hand for a good long while. But Kasey, odd young woman that she is, broke this wide open with a vicious kick to Diosa Syringa... and then, pinned Baby Peregrine for the three-count. She'd come to regret that choice, with Syringa pouncing on the opportunity to land a brutal Tiger Suplex... and Diosa Syringa, veteran of the Academy, has finally become Academy Champion. The Academy will add a little bit more in May, and the transition from "training academy" to "proper fed" may be getting under way starting after the June live show. Still, some of the roster certainly does have a ways to go yet... they'll continue to improve, but no doubt the Academy may undergo a transformation before 2020 ends.

We've knocked out another Academy house show, and the roster's seen another addition. After bringing in Lexi Dawson last month, we're back to an evenly split roster once again. Quick Results Lexi Dawson def. Kasey Ryder Hikari Ueno def. Nana Yoon Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney def. White Hot Vanessa Saunders def. Melody Bryant Baby Peregrine def. Trish Michaels Wild and Wilde Inc. def. Asha Nelson and Maria Marella Rhiannon Banes def. Shiori Yoshida Helena Lundgren def. Jessica Kimblee Naoko Yoshida def. Tara Helmsley Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers def. Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell Write-ups Make no mistake: Lexi Dawson is here to stay, and she showed no hesitation in going up against the former Academy Champion, matching Kasey Ryder move-for-move. Both women threw a lot behind this one, but Lexi would eventually land a Cazadora stomp on the run, and immediately threw herself into a running SSP for good measure to pick up a very, very impressive victory, her first in the Academy. A bit of a surprise appearance here, but it would seem that Hikari Ueno has joined the Academy to even out the roster with Lexi Dawson's arrival. She certainly didn't disappoint, either, though Nana Yoon didn't go quietly here: an early Shock Arrow package piledriver seemed to flip a switch, and Nana began to fight back big-time, landing missile dropkicks and generally making it difficult for Ueno to keep up. But finally, Hikari seemed to get tired of dealing with Nana, and landed back-to-back Shock Arrows to keep Nana down for the finish. A wild representation of just how far White Hot has come, and yet also representing how far they still have left to go. The match was clean enough, teamwork flying from both sides, but Rei and Keiko simply couldn't close it out, positioning proving to be their worst enemy. Eventually, a sharp DDT from Angela Rothenberg, leading into a camel clutch, forced Rei to tap out almost instantly. Melody Bryant simply couldn't keep pace with Vanessa Saunders here. She struggled to weather the storm of brutal kicks thrown her way, and while she had a glimmer of hope near the end of the match as she landed a couple of vicious Capture Suplexes, Vanessa would quickly stomp her right back down, another series of kicks laying out Melody and ending her comeback. Baby Peregrine continues to come into her own as a rising star, with another very impressive victory. While she still has yet to capture the Academy Championship, her time is clearly coming... and the next attempt may be the one. This was fast-paced, but Peregrine controlled most of it, flash pins flying and a couple of huge dives landing en route to snapping Trish up in a quick rana pin. There was barely a moment to breathe in this match: both teams were absolutely relentless in going after each other, almost making you believe that there might be some bad blood between them. Without a doubt, though, it was one of the best showings that both sides have had... and while Asha Nelson looked like she might have things under control, quick thinking from Heather Wild led to her trapping Asha in one of her signature chokeholds, and securing a hard-fought victory. Rhiannon Banes might've finally found a weak point in the Yoshida Twins. She seemed to absolutely dismantle Shiori in this match, and while Shiori was able to get some of her dangerous armwork in, it was only in-between the vicious beating Rhiannon laid out, culminating in a brutal series of elbows that left the tag champ down and out. With Rhiannon and Melody set to take on the twins later in the month for the tag titles, could the Yoshida reign be in jeopardy for the first time since they captured the titles? Helena Lundgren surprisingly found herself on the back foot for a large part of this match, with Jessica Kimblee making life difficult for the powerhouse. Helena even tried to fall back on a backslide pin that didn't quite get the job done, while Jessica just kept coming after her, landing backdrops and trying to keep the Swedish rookie down. But finally, Helena seemed to find her footing, landed her crushing powerbomb, and finally managed to escape with the win. Naoko Yoshida fared far, far better than her sister in this match, plowing through Tara Helmsley for most of the somewhat short matchup. While the action spilled outside at one point, Naoko didn't let Tara get a foothold on the outside either, and eventually landed a facebuster in the ring to pick up a stunningly dominant victory. We could be seeing a glimpse of the future here. Emma and Syringa were a well-oiled machine here, and while Fiona and Virginia were dangerous in their own right, it was Syringa that was the most dominant person in the match, absolutely relentless against the opposing team, and a double-arm suplex into the familiar Strangle Hold Gamma forced the upcoming challenger, Fiona, to submit. Could Syringa do the same when she defends her title against Fiona? Two weeks from now, the Academy goes live once again. Currently slated for that show: The Yoshida Twins defend the Academy Tag Team Championships against Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant, and Diosa Syringa defends the Academy Championship against Fiona Walsh.

We've got the Academy card set for Saturday's live show, with the aforementioned two title matches, along with quite a lot of other action... Kasey Ryder vs. Hikari Ueno
Nana Yoon and Lexi Dawson vs. Rule XXX
Rei Hasegawa vs. Virginia Caldwell
Keiko Maeda vs. Vanessa Saunders
Baby Peregrine vs. Emma Travers
Asha Nelson and Maria Marella vs. Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney
Heather Wild vs. Jessica Kimblee
Josie Wilde vs. Helena Lundgren
Fiona Walsh vs. Diosa Syringa for the Academy Championship
Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant vs. The Yoshida Twins for the Academy Tag Team Championships The night kicks off with the woman that was Academy Champion until last month, as Kasey Ryder looks to make her way back up from the bottom of the rankings after losing her title to Diosa Syringa. But standing in her way on the first step of the journey is newcomer Hikari Ueno, who made quite the splash in her house show debut earlier this month, picking up a win over Nana Yoon. Now Kasey will look to stop the young rookie from going on a winning streak... Speaking of Nana Yoon, alongside her new tag partner, Lexi Dawson, she'll have her sights set on the Rule XXX duo of Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels. Lexi's been an impressive sight since joining the Academy, but the fledgling team may need to bounce back from dropping their title match to the Yoshida Twins... and Rule XXX is not a team that can be overlooked. White Hot, surprisingly, will find themselves in singles action on this month's show, and both women will find themselves against former shoot-fighters. First, Rei Hasegawa squares off with Virginia Caldwell, who finds herself flying solo this month due to her tag partner's challenge for the Academy Championship... Rei has improved immensely in her time with the Academy, but can she overcome the relentless, brutal attack that Virginia has in store? Rei's partner, Keiko Maeda, will likewise face a former HONOO member in Vanessa Saunders. Vanessa has found her Academy career to be up and down so far, earning an early championship match only to fall short, and so far seems to be trying to find her footing... while Keiko has improved by leaps and bounds, yet still hasn't seemed to realize her full potential. Either way, though, this one could be a hell of a fight. Baby Peregrine may have fallen short in her pursuit of the Academy Championship once again, but it's nearly impossible to keep her down, as she's already aiming to fight her way back towards the top, and she seems determined to go through veteran Emma Travers to do it. With Diosa Syringa being the current reigning Academy Champion, Emma has little choice but to stand on her own for now... can she hold up against Peregrine's remarkable agility? When it comes to teams that have improved greatly over the past year and a half, Asha and Maria might be second only to White Hot in that respect. They've become a seriously dangerous unit, capable of scoring wins over nearly any team they're put in the ring with... but this match might be one of the toughest matchups they've faced, as Angela and Brianna are maybe one of the toughest teams the Academy has to offer. We've mostly seen Wild and Wilde Inc. working as a team as of late, but this month, Heather Wild and Josie Wilde will work solo... Heather, for her part, will be taking on Jessica Kimblee, and Jessica's pure athleticism could prove difficult for Heather's raw technique to handle. Still, Heather's been one of the brightest of the 2019 rookie class... Josie Wilde, meanwhile, faces maybe one of the toughest matches of the night as she squares off with Helena Lundgren. The Swedish powerhouse has been a pure engine of destruction in her time with the Academy, and while Josie is a devastating force herself, Helena might be on a completely different level... The Academy Championship will be the first title defended on this show, as Diosa Syringa steps into the ring with Fiona Walsh. It's taken Fiona quite some time to get this far... and no doubt, she'll be looking to be at the top of her game. She'll need it against Syringa, who's the most experienced member of the Academy, and perhaps the most dangerous woman on the roster. And finally, the Yoshida Twins, who have appeared nearly unstoppable since claiming the Academy Tag Team Championships, will once again seek to defend their titles, this time against Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant. While many will write this off as an easy Yoshida victory, nothing is guaranteed... it's entirely possible that the Twins could find more trouble with Rhiannon and Melody than they expect.

Late decision that I felt was best for the Academy: since I introduced the 45-minute time limit to the main Phoenix Rising and Evergreen feds, I figured the Academy needed the same, only I scaled it down to 30 minutes. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/637040426Youtube: youtu.be/73nqK5d5cKkQuick Results Kasey Ryder def. Hikari Ueno Rule XXX def. Nana Yoon and Lexi Dawson Rei Hasegawa def. Virginia Caldwell Vanessa Saunders def. Keiko Maeda Baby Peregrine def. Emma Travers Brianna Tierney and Angela Rothenberg def. Asha Nelson and Maria Marella Jessica Kimblee def. Heather Wild Helena Lundgren def. Josie Wilde Fiona Walsh def. Diosa Syringa to become the NEW Academy Champion The Yoshida Twins vs. Melody Bryant and Rhiannon Banes ended in a time limit draw, Yoshida Twins retain Write-ups Hot opener to kick off tonight's show, with Ueno showing she's definitely a threat among the Academy... but Kasey, perhaps determined to fight her way back to the top in a hurry, wasn't going to be stopped, landing a hard facebuster and snapping Ueno up for the pinfall. Nana and Lexi may be the fastest, most agile team around today, but they might still be getting used to being a team... while Rule XXX have steadily become a well-oiled machine together, which they showed very, very well here. It didn't help that a massive brawl on the outside favored them heavily... and teamwork carried the end of this one, with Trish laying out Lexi, Tara taking down Nana, and Trish picking up the victory shortly after. This might be the ultimate culmination of Rei Hasegawa's transformation into a legitimate wrestler. Virginia had a plan in mind, but Rei was just too quick... and despite being busted open on a vicious stomp, Rei held her ground and landed a facebuster to put Virginia down for the pinfall. Keiko didn't quite fare as well as her partner, with Vanessa Saunders arriving on a mission. While Keiko did her best to work the Nagata Lock, Vanessa eventually ripped off a brutal kick to the head, and seemingly knocked Keiko out, though she was back on her feet not long after the bell, looking frustrated with her own efforts. Baby Peregrine's rise just continues... it really does seem like just a matter of time before she's back at the top challenging for the title again. Emma Travers just couldn't keep up, despite her usual strategy, and a Small Package Driver scored a big win for the young luchadora. This was very, very much in favor of Angela and Brianna, once again seeing a brawl on the outside go heavily in their favor. Asha and Maria did what they could, but never really kicked it into gear... and Brianna laid Asha out for a truly dominant victory. Jessica Kimblee might be the brightest star of the new recruits. She's been absolutely dynamite from day one, and this match was no exception, weathering everything Heather had to throw her way and landing a Kotaro Crusher to score another victory, continuing her meteoric rise to the top. Two powerhouses matched up here, and one walked away with no doubt who the stronger of the two was. Josie, for her part, gave Helena all she could, but Helena was a brutal machine, throwing out Karelin Lifts and wrapping things up by forcing Josie to Bow Down with her signature powerbomb. Easily the best match of the night, one of the most impressive matches the Academy's seen in recent memory, and a test of wills. Both women were determined to finish the other with a signature submission, but it was finally Fiona Walsh who got the opening, a Snapdragon suplex leading into one of her most brutal submissions, and forcing the Academy Champion to give in... and now, Fiona stands atop the mountain. The first appearance of the time limit, but what a match for those thirty minutes. With Melody and Rhiannon looking dominant through much of this one, the Yoshidas seemed to be desperately fighting just to survive, and while they started to slowly make a comeback late, they eventually seemed to settle in to force the draw... and thus, we're likely to see this one again sooner rather than later, as the trainers have deemed that a rematch is absolutely necessary.

Academy house show for June has wrapped, and we're zeroing in on this month's live show coming from the bigger arena, as usual. Quick Results Nana Yoon def. Brianna Tierney Maria Marella def. Baby Peregrine Diosa Syringa def. Hikari Ueno Wild and Wilde Inc. def. Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren Angela Rothenberg def. Emma Travers Asha Nelson def. Lexi Dawson Rule XXX def. White Hot Shiori Yoshida def. Kasey Ryder Jessica Kimblee def. Naoko Yoshida Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell vs. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant ended in a time limit draw. Write-ups Nana Yoon looked to be in trouble for much of the opener here, with Brianna Tierney seemingly overpowering her at every turn. But as the match went along, the young Korean turned up the pressure, making a roaring comeback, landing just about everything she had in her arsenal: her big corner stomps, her crushing jumping tombstone, but she'd ultimately pick up a major comeback victory with a Fisherman's Suplex, picking up what some might argue is an upset win over Brianna. While Peregrine brought her usual agility to this match, it seemed like Maria Marella's gameplan was beyond successful here, as she wore Peregrine down with her technical ability and submission game. Maria stayed a step ahead, eventually landing a crushing reverse DDT, and came away with maybe the most surprising win of the show. Hikari came into this match as a severe underdog, but despite that, gave a very strong showing against the former Academy Champion. Still, it seemed like a foregone conclusion in the end... Syringa eventually pulled away, landing back-to-back Swanton Bombs and putting this one away without any real trouble. Josie Wilde was a real wrecking ball in this match, seeming to pull ahead no matter who she faced down in the ring. She carried her team, without a doubt, and eventually even overpowered Helena Lundgren, crushing her with the Whiskey Rose and giving Wild and Wilde Inc. a major victory. Emma Travers made a major mistake in this match: she busted Angela open early, and that only seemed to piss the German off, as from that point on, Angela was nearly unstoppable. Emma just couldn't keep up, and eventually a spiking chokeslam finished things off, giving Angela a very, very brief victory. Fast and intense, Asha Nelson was on a mission here, but don't discount Lexi Dawson: she gave as good as she got, keeping a fast pace with her incredible agility. It seemed, though, that once Asha got an Ankle Lock on her, Lexi couldn't keep up, and she got caught with a backslide, giving Asha an important win. Just as it seemed like this match might be destined to hit the 30-minute time limit, Trish Michaels stepped in and settled things with one vicious kick. Keiko Maeda once again finds herself falling short, and one has to imagine that something's going to change in the near future if White Hot is to turn their fortunes around... This was pure precision from Shiori Yoshida, despite Kasey's best efforts to keep the tag champ down. Shiori was relentless, cranking on Kasey's arms, leaving her hurt and struggling by the end of the match, and a brutal combination of strikes finished her off, keeping Shiori looking dangerous ahead of the upcoming Academy Tag Team Championship match. Jessica Kimblee came into this match with one goal in mind: prove that her team is capable of toppling the seemingly-unstoppable Yoshida Twins. And although Naoko threw all she had at Jessica and then some, she just wouldn't stop... not until she came away with the win. And even after Naoko stole her axe kick, Jessica kept firing away in kind, eventually laying Naoko out with a Brazilian Kick, and splitting the series for the time being against the Yoshidas... could they bring the tag champs down? We got exactly what was expected from this match: an all-out brawl for a full 30 minutes, with neither side backing down even an inch. It's impossible to tell who might come out ahead at the end of the month: Fiona Walsh will seek to defend the title she only just won against Rhiannon Banes, who will be fighting to prove that the rookie class of 2019 has risen to new heights. I'll have the live show card posted at some point soon. Likely this week. The Academy will also have a presence at Sky's the Limit, likely an 8-way battle royal between the top 8 ranked wrestlers in the Academy. It's gonna be a busy month.

So, first thing's first, let's take a look at what we've got in store for Saturday's event: as usual, it's been three months, this month's show gets the big arena and full entrances. Lexi Dawson vs. Hikari Ueno
Baby Peregrine vs. Rei Hasegawa
Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren vs. Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney
Keiko Maeda vs. Melody Bryant
Trish Michaels vs. Asha Nelson
Wild and Wilde Inc. vs. Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers
Maria Marella vs. Virginia Caldwell
Nana Yoon vs. Tara Helmsley
Kasey Ryder and Jessica Kimblee vs. The Yoshida Twins for the Academy Tag Team Championships
Rhiannon Banes vs. Fiona Walsh for the Academy Championship Kicking things off, we see both of the Academy's newcomers squaring off as Lexi Dawson faces Hikari Ueno. We've seen a lot from both of these women so far, but this is likely to be a test to see which of the newest additions to the roster is progressing faster. Baby Peregrine is well on her way to getting back near the top once again, but Rei Hasegawa, in a rare singles appearance, will stand in her way this month, aiming to secure a place near the top for herself. While Rei's been focused mainly on White Hot, a win here could lead to her changing her focus towards the Academy Championship... The first tag match of the night will see Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren taking on perhaps one of the few teams capable of matching them in terms of their ferocity. Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney have more than proven themselves as a dangerous duo, and it's going to be interesting to see how Angela's raw power stacks up against Helena's... With Rei Hasegawa in singles action, that leaves Keiko Maeda to do much the same. She'll have Melody Bryant to deal with here, and with both seemingly in a bit of a slump when it comes to their own personal achievements, both women could use a win here in the worst way. Rule XXX has been on fire lately, with a fair few strong victories, but this month they'll work separately... kicking off with Trish Michaels taking on Asha Nelson. Asha's main goal will be to avoid the Heartbreaker superkick, and no doubt she'll likely be zeroed in on getting her Ankle Lock on Trish. Wild and Wilde Inc. continue to be a threat in the tag division, but this one might be rough: the two veterans of the Academy, Syringa and Emma, and perhaps the two greatest technicians on the Academy roster. Heather and Josie have their work cut out for them here, but anything is possible. Maria Marella's pure technique will be put to the test, as Virginia Caldwell's shoot background means that she'll be on the lookout for much of what Maria excels at. If Maria isn't careful, Caldwell may turn her entire gameplan against her... Tara Helmsley, cocky as ever, is now poised to take on one of the Academy's brightest stars in Nana Yoon. And while Tara's likely to say this match won't be a problem, she is still stepping into the ring with a former Academy Champion... Nana cannot be overlooked, not for a second. The first championship match of the night will see the Yoshida Twins once again defend their hard-won titles, this time against the fierce team that is Kasey Ryder and Jessica Kimblee. These two have risen up through the ranks and taken the Academy by storm... both are supremely talented, but the Yoshidas have been easily the best team in the Academy almost from the first day they arrived. Finally, Fiona Walsh will defend the Academy Championship against Rhiannon Banes, as the young Welsh rookie looks to topple the Irish champion. Still coming off of a frustrating time-limit draw against the Yoshida Twins last month, Rhiannon is determined to capture gold here...

It's another three months down for the Academy, and thus, another show in the big arena comes to a close. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/663742925Youtube: youtu.be/9BlFhfVHlgAQuick Results Hikari Ueno def. Lexi Dawson Rei Hasegawa def. Baby Peregrine Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney def. Kasey Ryder and Jessica Kimblee to retain the Academy Tag Team Championships Fiona Walsh def. Rhiannon Banes to retain the Academy Championship Write-ups Openers just don't get much better than this. Lexi and Hikari came roaring out of the gate here, landing big moves, keeping up a blistering pace, but a trio of Shock Arrow package piledrivers eventually put Lexi down, and Hikari Ueno made a huge statement in victory. Rei Hasegawa bounced back in a hurry from her loss on Friday's Wacker Drive/Lightning Pro show, coming right back to land her full finishing sequence on Baby Peregrine, and picking up an important victory. Rei could find herself with more singles opportunities if she keeps up this sort of momentum. This match might go down as one of the ugliest in the Academy's history. Vanessa Saunders was busted open early in this one, but fought just as ferociously as ever, even returning the favor later in the match on Brianna Tierney. But it was the respective powerhouses of their teams that took center stage in the end: and Angela Rothenberg would hit a huge spiking chokeslam to pick up the victory for her team. Keiko Maeda continues to struggle to find her footing. While Rei Hasegawa just keeps soaring higher, Keiko can't seem to keep pace... and no doubt, the next month could be very, very important for her, as she tries to figure out just what she's doing wrong. Asha Nelson just never got it going here, and Trish Michaels easily outpaced her en route to landing a brutal Heartbreaker superkick. Asha simply couldn't keep pace... and she, too, may need to figure out how to move forward. A potential #1 contender's match for the Academy tag titles would end inconclusively, despite the best efforts of both teams. Wild and Wilde Inc, though, held their own against one of the most dangerous teams in Syringa and Emma, and no doubt this will be settled soon... likely at July's house show. But where do Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant enter into things...? Try as she might, Maria Marella wound up falling just short of taking down the Academy's resident shooter, with Virginia Caldwell keeping herself a step ahead whenever the match went to the ground. She'd eventually slow Maria to a crawl by working the legs, and one final submission forced the tapout. A blistering pace from these two led to Nana Yoon coming away with a wild victory, the young Korean showing absolutely no hesitation en route to a submission victory in truly impressive fashion. Tara just couldn't keep up. The Yoshida Twins remain on top, even as the entire roster seems to be coming for their heads. Despite Kasey and Jessica giving this everything they had, they simply couldn't put it away... and a brutal combo of strikes from Shiori would put this one away, and keep the tag titles firmly on the Twins. Rhiannon Banes simply didn't seem prepared for this match. Fiona Walsh dismantled the young Welsh rookie, and the champion didn't even finish it in a big way, a backslide counter ensuring Fiona remains at the top for another month. The Academy will have a presence on Monday's Sky's the Limit show: as eight women from the roster seek to raise their stock, and be the next #1 contender after Helena Lundgren. Jessica Kimblee Nana Yoon Angela Rothenberg Josie Wilde Heather Wild Rei Hasegawa Virginia Caldwell Maria Marella Those eight will be your participants on Monday.

July's house show sees the departure (mostly) of the Yoshida Twins, who will be back later this month for their next Academy Tag Team Championship defense, but will no longer appear at the house shows... but a new team has arrived to take their place, and no doubt a certain duo has been waiting very, very patiently for their arrival. Quick Results Lexi Dawson def. Diosa Syringa Kasey Ryder def. Hikari Ueno White Hot def. The Dream City Bandits Melody Bryant def. Baby Peregrine Tara Helmsley def. Emma Travers Asha Nelson and Maria Marella def. Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren Rhiannon Banes def. Trish Michaels Heather Wild def. Jessica Kimblee Josie Wilde def. Nana Yoon Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney def. Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell Write-ups Lexi started this match off hot, but eventually, settled back into playing defense as Diosa Syringa began to take over. And it certainly looked like it was going to stay that way... only Lexi simply wasn't giving in. Slowly but surely, she began to fight her way back into the match... and with Syringa unable to put her away, Lexi finally got her opening, landing a Superstar Elbow and picking up maybe one of the most incredible victories the Academy's witnessed in a very long time. Where the opener was a struggle for Lexi to fight back, this was a flat-out brawl to the finish, with both Kasey and Hikari dishing out everything in their arsenal to try and keep the other down. Kasey laid in multiple Brazilian Kicks, Hikari landed a pair of Shock Arrow package piledrivers, but finally, Kasey was able to deliver a huge diving stomp to pick up the win in what proved to be an absolute sprint to the finish. The Dream City Bandits have arrived... and Rule XXX suddenly finds themselves stronger than ever. Still, White Hot were definitely not afraid of the newcomers, and Rei Hasegawa in particular seemed to do her homework on the duo, taking full control of the match herself and eventually stealing the finisher of Shelly Hotlips, giving White Hot a much-needed victory over the newest members of the Academy roster. Just like that, Melody Bryant picks up maybe one of the more impressive victories of the night... after having trouble keeping pace, but getting in what she could, Melody broke out a brand-new suplex, the Perfect-plex, and scored a huge win over Baby Peregrine. Could Melody's fortunes finally be changing? How dangerous will she be going forward? Tara Helmsley continues to remind the Academy why she's the leader of Rule XXX, matching Emma Travers move-for-move. And while Emma held out and nearly took the win multiple times here, Tara just kept coming, landing spinebusters and brawling with her on the outside before landing a Cerebral Assassination to pick up a very impressive win. Never let it be said that Asha and Maria are lacking in talent, and never count them out of a match. Indeed, they seemed to be in control for most of this match, with Helena and Vanessa never really getting out of the starting gates, and Asha would finish this in spectacular fashion with a diving kick that put the Swedish powerhouse down for the three-count, Maria easily cutting off the save to ensure the win. Just in case you'd forgotten how dangerous Rhiannon Banes could be after her recent failure to capture the Academy Championship, she came roaring back here against Trish Michaels, making sure she reminded everyone exactly what she can do. The young Welsh brawler was absolutely relentless here, capping off a victory with a brutal series of elbows that ensured the perfect position for the win. This one turned out to be another all-out brawl, much like Jessica's tag partner Kasey had earlier in the night. Heather had control for some time, but Jessica quickly fought back... and then, the match spilled to the outside, where it stayed for a good while, Jessica seeming to get the upper hand until a double-arm DDT from Heather, both outside and inside the ring, finally put this one away, as Heather followed up with a chickenwing facelock to get the submission win. There were plenty of moments in this one that looked like Josie Wilde was coasting to an easy win... and Nana Yoon just kept kicking out. It took far more effort than Josie was likely expecting, and Nana nearly stole this one a couple of times, even... though Josie would finally put this one away with what seemed like the fourth or fifth Whiskey Rose of the match. Ouch. As good as Fiona Walsh has been since winning the Academy Championship, it seemed like Brianna Tierney figured out how to match her fellow Irishwoman. This match was wild from start to finish, with Virginia Caldwell brawling with Angela Rothenberg on the outside, and aiming to live up to the moniker she's claimed for herself: "Legbreaker". But Brianna eventually found herself face-to-face with the Academy Champion, landing a crushing DDT, and just barely pulling off the win thanks to Angela's assistance in cutting off the save. We'll see Helena Lundgren challenging Fiona Walsh later this month, and the Yoshida Twins will defend their titles against the team of Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers. The challengers may never have as much of a chance to dethrone the champions as they do this month... can the veterans send the Yoshidas off to Proving Ground with one final match, or will the most dangerous team the Academy's witnessed since it opened continue to dominate the division? And can Fiona Walsh continue her run at the top, or will the Swedish powerhouse finally take down her Irish foe?

July's big show is coming up fast. Could it be the last time we see the Yoshida Twins in the Academy? There's only one way to find out... by watching on Saturday. Brianna Tierney vs. Asha Nelson
Heather Wild vs. Jessica Kimblee vs. Angela Rothenberg vs. Maria Marella
The Dream City Bandits vs. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant
Lexi Dawson vs. Hikari Ueno
Nana Yoon vs. Vanessa Saunders
Rule XXX vs. White Hot
Kasey Ryder vs. Baby Peregrine
Josie Wilde vs. Virginia Caldwell
Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers vs. The Yoshida Twins for the Academy Tag Team Championships
Helena Lundgren vs. Fiona Walsh for the Academy Championship Kicking things off this week, we see Asha Nelson looking to get what would be a big win for her, the young rookie looking to take down one of the resident Irish rookies in Brianna Tierney. Brianna, though, has been one of the toughest opponents in the Academy from day one, and she's not going to go down easily... not even with Asha's impressive talent on the mat. A big 4-way contest here sees some of the brightest talents in the Academy squaring off to come out on top. It's hard to tell how this one may turn out, but look for Maria Marella to surprise a few people with her technical brilliance, and Angela Rothenberg to remind everyone how dangerous her raw power really is. But don't take your eyes off of Jessica Kimblee or Heather Wild, either, with these two every bit as talented as anyone else in the Academy, Jessica perhaps even moreso. We got a glimpse of the Dream City Bandits earlier this month at the house show, but this will be their live debut, as Allie Katt and Shelly Hotlips take on the duo of Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant. Melody may have picked up a few new tricks since the last time we saw her... now donning the moniker of the "Suplex Princess", she seems determined to make herself into one of the Academy's top names. Lexi Dawson's arrival in the Academy almost seemed to signal a bit of a shift in the fed's course. While the former cheerleader is still a rookie, of course, she arrived with the sole purpose of taking the Academy by storm and making it into something more than just a training grounds. Hikari Ueno may have seen the same purpose with her arrival, and these two seem intent on clashing in a big way this month, two of the newest members of the roster seeking to make their names against each other. Nana Yoon remains one of the brightest stars the Academy's ever seen. A former Academy Champion, and easily one of the most popular names on the roster, she's still got a tough test ahead of her as she squares off with Vanessa Saunders, who no doubt will make life very difficult for the young Korean with her myriad of devastating kicks. As Rei Hasegawa watches and waits, preparing for her Academy Championship match next month, she turns her focus back towards White Hot for now, with the team taking on Rule XXX here. Tara and Trish will look to take home a win as Rule XXX seeks to seize control of the tag division for their own, and with the group suddenly finding themselves with two different teams to work with, Rei and Keiko may not just have to deal with the leaders we've come to know so well already... Kasey Ryder continues to impress month after month, much like her opponent this month, Baby Peregrine. This match will be all about the incredible untapped potential shared between these two, and there's simply no telling who will come out on top, as both seek to rise to the top once again and take their shot at the Academy Championship. Josie Wilde continues to be an unsung powerhouse among the Academy roster, sometimes being overshadowed in raw strength by the likes of Angela Rothenberg and Helena Lundgren. But make no mistake, Josie's continued to be one of the Academy's most dangerous rookies, and Virginia Caldwell is going to get a first-hand look at that here... her best bet will, of course, be to keep this match on the ground and wear Josie down with her brutal submission game. We've had an eye on this one for a while... the Academy veterans have reached the top spot in the tag division again, and they're looking to claim the titles from the departing Yoshida Twins. But with how dominant the twins have been as champions, can even the talented veterans topple them? There's simply no telling whether anyone can stop the Yoshidas at all... Finally, Fiona Walsh will defend her Academy Championship against perhaps one of the most dangerous opponents the Academy has to offer. Helena Lundgren is perhaps one of the most devastating forces that the Academy's ever witnessed, and the Swedish powerhouse seems determined to capture her first bit of gold here, no doubt by forcing Fiona to Bow Down with her crushing powerbomb finisher...

Top to bottom, this one was pretty damn solid. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/691023995Youtube: youtu.be/HEOZ55un2OQQuick Results Brianna Tierney def. Asha Nelson Heather Wild won the 4-way Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant def. The Dream City Bandits Lexi Dawson def. Hikari Ueno Nana Yoon def. Vanessa Saunders Rule XXX vs. White Hot reached a time-limit draw Kasey Ryder def. Baby Peregrine Virginia Caldwell def. Josie Wilde Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers def. The Yoshida Twins to become the NEW Academy Tag Team Champions Fiona Walsh def. Helena Lundgren to retain the Academy Championship Write-ups Brianna Tierney was on a mission tonight, and Asha Nelson simply got in the way. Back-to-back crushing DDTs left Asha simply unable to keep going, and Brianna looks towards next month's tag team championship match, clearly ready to claim those titles alongside Angela Rothenberg. Heather Wild was the quiet participant in this 4-way contest... Angela Rothenberg was the first one down as Jessica Kimblee landed a pair of German suplexes. Jessica would then later get caught in Maria Marella's F- submission hold... and that opened the door for Heather to spring her trap, eventually locking in a vicious chokehold to take home the victory and set herself up nicely near the top of the rankings. The tag division might want to watch out, because Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant might just be better than ever. The Dream City Bandits put all they could out there, but Rhiannon was a pure wrecking ball in the ring tonight, and even a wild brawl on the outside couldn't quench the Welsh rookie's fire, landing a crushing powerbomb to Allie Katt to pick up the win. Lexi Dawson quite literally gave this match everything she had. By the time she got to the end of the match, she was almost completely wiped out... perhaps the constant, relentless pace she forced Hikari Ueno to match took its toll. But despite all of that, despite literally running herself ragged, it was all she needed, landing a final running SSP to pick up the victory just in time. Nana Yoon is still one of the best the Academy has to offer, and nowhere was that clearer than tonight, as she outlasted Vanessa Saunders and completely outclassed the kickboxer, forcing her to tap out to her devastating submission hold and reminding everyone that she is a former Academy Champion, and may very well capture that title again soon if she keeps up this pace. By now it seems like the Academy simply can't go without a time-limit tag match draw, though this was hardly for lack of trying to finish the match. Rule XXX and White Hot were both at each others' throats for the entirety of this one, not letting up on each other for even the slightest moment, and even clear up to the bell signalling their draw, they were still trading blows. It seems like this may not be over between these two teams, but with Rule XXX's ranks quickly swelling, what can White Hot do to keep up? Kasey Ryder just keeps getting better. Tasked with facing one of the Academy's best, Kasey didn't back down an inch, dishing out one of the more impressive victories we've seen lately, and a crushing stomp from the top rope gave Kasey a very well-earned win. This was probably the match of the night. Virginia Caldwell and Josie Wilde absolutely tore into each other, Josie throwing lariats time and time again, cinching in the Cloverleaf, trying to finish Virginia with the Whiskey Rose... and the MMA fighter-turned-wrestler just kept coming back with brutal strikes and submissions, eventually leading up to her setting up a top-rope dragon screw, and clamping on one final submission to force the tapout. It took the Academy's top two veterans to finally topple the Yoshida Twins, ending their brief Academy run but ensuring that they'll nevertheless go down as one of the Academy's best teams ever. Still, Diosa Syringa was not about to let this one reach the time limit and cost them their shot at the titles... as that half-hour mark approached, she finally locked in the Strangle Hold Gamma, and finally, the tag titles changed hands... back to the team that the Yoshidas defeated to win them in the first place. For all of Helena Lundgren's raw power, for all of her overwhelming strength, she just couldn't put Fiona Walsh away. The Academy Champion once again rose to a colossal challenge and never relented in this defense, wiping out Helena primarily with her incredible striking game. Fiona stays atop the Academy for another month as she prepares to take on Rei Hasegawa.

August's house show is done... I know I rarely post cards ahead of time for these things, but it's fine. Right? Quick Results Asha Nelson def. Hikari Ueno Baby Peregrine def. Rhiannon Banes The Dream City Bandits vs. Kasey Ryder and Jessica Kimblee ended in a time-limit draw Maria Marella def. Josie Wilde Lexi Dawson def. Melody Bryant Nana Yoon def. Heather Wild Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren def. Rule XXX Brianna Tierney def. Emma Travers Diosa Syringa def. Angela Rothenberg Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell def. White Hot Write-ups Hikari seemed like she had things well in hand for most of this match, at least until Asha Nelson turned up the pressure... a counter into an ankle lock seemed like the turning point, and Asha quickly took advantage of her momentum to land a big diving splash to pick up a surprising victory. This was absolutely relentless from start to finish, with Peregrine getting off to a hot start and closing out just as fiercely, flash pins flying left and right, Rhiannon just trying to keep up and land what blows she could, including her new powerbomb. None of it was enough, and Peregrine finally snapped off one more flash pin on the dazed Welsh rookie to pick up the win. These two teams clearly had something against each other, as they just could not keep this one in the ring, the match devolving into absolute unholy chaos no less than three times throughout the course of the 30-minute time limit. It wasn't as though nobody tried to finish... it was just that nobody was able to get the job done, in the end. This was chaotic, and absolutely one of the most ridiculous tag matches in Academy history... but it damn sure was entertaining. What could've turned into an ugly mismatch proved to be fiercely competitive instead, with Josie Wilde not quite bringing her full power to bear against Maria. She certainly threw the young star around a fair bit, but Maria just kept popping right back up, and was absolutely relentless in the ring, never slowing down for a second when she was on the offensive... and when Josie's stamina completely ran out, Maria went straight for the finish, landing a crushing reverse DDT and getting a huge victory. For all her raw power, for all of the ways she looked to break Lexi Dawson in half, Melody Bryant couldn't seal the win here, as Lexi stayed just barely a step ahead with her incredible agility. Lexi stayed on the move wherever she could, and although Melody didn't hesitate to throw her around the ring, she didn't give in, snapping off a Lightning Spiral and stunning Melody with a hard-fought win. This was as effective as Nana Yoon's ever been, absolutely ripping through Heather Wild. There isn't much else to say: Nana continues to be one of the Academy's best, perhaps behind only the veterans, and even then... it may be tough to call. Could Nana be on her way to another run at the top? Just like the Dream City Bandits match, this was pure chaos... although mostly confined to the ring this time around. And although Tara Helmsley was a dynamo in this one, she let her attitude get the best of her once again, allowing Vanessa Saunders to take control and lay her out with a brutal kick, with Helena Lundgren cutting off the save to give them the victory. As much as Emma Travers has improved over the past couple of years, there's definitely still work to be done... she may be called an Academy veteran but Brianna Tierney flat-out wiped the floor with her here, the Irishwoman absolutely dominant in this match. There can simply be no doubt about it: Diosa Syringa is the Academy's woman to beat. The top veteran in the Academy was at the top of her game here, taking a bigger, badder Angela Rothenberg head-on and flat-out making a fool out of her, blocking everything she had to throw out, and just outplaying the German at every turn en route to a wild flash pin to seal the victory ahead of her defense of the Academy tag titles alongside Emma. There is a reason that Fiona Walsh is the Academy Champion, and that she's remained the Academy Champion for as long as she has. When her back is to the wall, she only gets more dangerous. She proved that here, as this match broke out into easily the most intense brawl of the night, with both members of White Hot giving as good as they got... and Keiko, just like at last night's Lightning Pro show, led the charge. But Fiona simply would not be denied... and just as it seemed like this match was destined to end in a draw, Fiona locked Keiko in one of her brutal submissions, and with just two seconds left to go, forced the tapout and picked up the win, keeping her momentum hot as she prepares to face Rei Hasegawa one-on-one for the Academy Championship.

Academy show's coming up this Saturday (Yes, contrary to the usual "last Saturday of the month" schedule, it just works out better this way). Small rule change going into effect for the Academy, incidentally: tag matches are going to be worked with rope breaks off, because we've had a LOT of time-limit draws in tag contests since the 30-minute limit came into effect. The timer will remain the same, but hopefully no rope break will help things keep moving along properly. Allie Katt vs. Hikari UenoShelly Hotlips vs. Helena LundgrenAsha Nelson and Maria Marella vs. Wild and Wilde Inc.Keiko Maeda vs. Kasey RyderBaby Peregrine vs. Lexi DawsonRhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant vs. Rule XXXVanessa Saunders vs. Jessica KimbleeNana Yoon vs. Virginia CaldwellRei Hasegawa vs. Fiona Walsh for the Academy ChampionshipAngela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney vs. Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers for the Academy Tag Team ChampionshipsKicking things off, we've got the singles debut of the Dream City Bandits, starting with Allie Katt taking on Hikari Ueno. With Hikari looking like a bigger powerhouse than ever as of late, Allie Katt will have her hands full here... but she could do a lot to start rising through the ranks with a win.
Allie's partner, Shelly Hotlips, will also be in singles action here, and she'll have just as tough of a test, it would seem, as she squares off with Helena Lundgren. Helena's just coming off of a defeat at the hands of Fiona Walsh last month... failing to capture the Academy Championship, she'll want to bounce back from her defeat and take down the relative newcomer, but can she keep it together?
Wild and Wilde Inc. have their sights set on the top. There can be no doubt about that... standing in their way, though, will be Asha Nelson and Maria Marella, quickly becoming one of the best technical duos in the Academy. There's a lot to see in this one, as some of the best talents the Academy has to offer square off.
Keiko Maeda is on a hot streak. White Hot is one of the top teams in the Academy, Rei Hasegawa is challenging for the Academy Championship, and Keiko Maeda herself is basking in the incredible feat of becoming one-half of the Lightning Pro Victorious Tag Medal holders, taking Tarkhan the Mangler out of action and looking like an absolute world-beater. Kasey Ryder will have to be at her best to take this one... Keiko's suddenly the fastest-rising star in the Academy, and it may not be able to contain her much longer.
Baby Peregrine steps into the ring here to take on none other than Lexi Dawson, the woman who stepped up to take her place as Nana Yoon's regular tag partner after Peregrine shifted to a full-time singles role. It's doubtful that there's any hard feelings involved here, but one thing we know is likely in this one: it's gonna be the wildest high-flying match of the show.
Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant are steadily making a name for themselves as a team... and they're looking to knock off Rule XXX to keep their momentum going as they seek the Academy Tag Team Championships. Tara and Trish aren't likely to go quietly, though... and with a recent Academy rule change, this one's likely to move a fair bit quicker than recent tag matches have been.
Vanessa Saunders is rarely considered an underdog when it comes to Academy matches. This one, though, could prove more difficult than usual, with Jessica Kimblee looking stronger than ever. Vanessa will need to stay focused: she's got a lot of talent and power, but Jessica is perhaps one of the best the Academy's seen in its year and a half of operation.
Nana Yoon wants to get back to the top of the mountain, there can simply be no doubt about that. But Virginia Caldwell would love to be next in line... the spot Nana already holds herself. This one's an important one: Nana is defending her shot for September, while Virginia wants to be next up to face the winner of Fiona vs. Rei...
And speaking of them, the Academy Championship will comprise the first half of the main events this month. Fiona Walsh has been an incredible champion thus far since winning the title back in May from Diosa Syringa. She's defeated Rhiannon Banes and Helena Lundgren since then, and now, she'll look to send Rei Hasegawa packing... but with Rei running hot, can Fiona overcome the surging star?
The top team in the Academy may very well be more dangerous than ever before. Emma and Syringa are steadily taking their role more and more seriously as time goes on, and the team of Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney are going to have their work cut out for them in this month's main event, as they seek to take down the veteran team and capture the Academy Tag Team Championships... good luck to them, they'll surely need it, even with Angela's incredible power.

August has wrapped up, and it was a good night for a certain few groups. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/718790691Youtube: youtu.be/BRE734ohK7EQuick Results Allie Katt def. Hikari Ueno Shelly Hotlips def. Helena Lundgren Asha Nelson and Maria Marella def. Wild and Wilde Inc. Kasey Ryder def. Keiko Maeda Lexi Dawson def. Baby Peregrine Rule XXX def. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant Vanessa Saunders def. Jessica Kimblee Nana Yoon def. Virginia Caldwell Fiona Walsh def. Rei Hasegawa to retain the Academy Championship Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers def. Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney to retain the Academy Tag Team Championships Write-ups Rule XXX started the night off hot, as the Dream City Bandits took center stage for the first two matches... and Allie Katt did not disappoint, holding out against Hikari Ueno (albeit with a little assistance from Shelly Hotlips at ringside) and eventually scoring a big-time win, kicking off a very, very good night for the group. Shelly Hotlips traded places with Allie Katt for the following match, and right away showed that she didn't need Allie's help from ringside, even against Helena Lundgren's overwhelming power. She held her own almost effortlessly, and picked up Rule XXX's second win of the night. Technical prowess won the day over the more unrefined brawling that Wild and Wilde Inc. bring to the table... and there was simply no doubt that Asha and Maria were ready to take the next step, working as a better team than ever before, setting Maria up to lock in an armbar and pick up the win... and the next shot at the tag titles. Keiko Maeda came into this looking to keep her hot streak going... only for Kasey Ryder to once again pull off one of her wild comebacks, enduring Keiko's most devastating moves to pull off the huge upset victory. Kasey's quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with, able to turn the tide of a match in an instant... Lexi Dawson should not be overlooked. Easily keeping pace with Baby Peregrine here, she was pure dynamite from start to finish, and scored a huge victory off the Lightning Spiral, making it clear that she's got her sights set higher than ever. Rule XXX capped off an already-successful night by finishing 3-0... and made it very clear just how dangerous they are now. Tara and Trish were devastating in this match, and although Melody tried her best to throw the pair around, a vicious Superkick from Trish put her down in short order. Kasey Ryder might be the queen of the comeback, but Vanessa Saunders might be giving her a run for that title, as she was taking a beating from Jessica Kimblee for much of this match... right up until Vanessa began to pop off her repertoire of devastating kicks, along with the Michinoku Driver. She capped off her huge comeback with a stiff kick (of course!) and scored a colossal victory. Virginia Caldwell just couldn't keep Nana Yoon down. Nana forced this match to follow her pace, and a wild series of moves culminating in a jumping tombstone piledriver kept Virginia down for three, ensuring Nana will be getting another shot at the top spot and the Academy Championship. Can anyone stop Fiona Walsh? The reigning Academy Champion looked as unbeatable as she's ever been, completely outclassing Rei Hasegawa and refusing to entertain the idea of the crowd supporting her opponent. Fiona goes into September with three successful defenses under her belt... and a former champion looking to topple her. Once again, the veterans showed that they're the top team in the Academy, and although it took some time to get to that point, Diosa Syringa reminded the entire Academy that she may be one of the most complete packages around. Angela and Brianna made this a fight, but the champions reigned once again, and are clearly going to make it tough to dethrone them... though Asha and Maria could give them a solid run next month.
