Coming up Saturday night, the penultimate Academy live show of 2019. Only one more left after this one. Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa vs. Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels
Josie Wilde vs. Estrella Gratis
Amber Wright vs. Iris Coleman
Asha Nelson and Maria Marella vs. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant
Jessika Boom vs. Sung Moon
Fiona Walsh vs. Anna Bryant
Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa vs. Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine
Katherine White vs. Leona Sterling
Heather Wild vs. Christina Wagner
Calista Vargas vs. La Corsaria for the Academy Championship There's no doubt that Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa have become one of the Academy's top tag teams over the last couple of months, and they've got their sights set high for 2020: the opener this month (along with the other two tag matches on the card) will have important repercussions, as they're part of a major Academy tag league that will not only determine the rankings for the new division, but the initial tag team champions (the finals to be held at this year's New Year's Bash!) Keiko and Rei will absolutely be looking to be at the top... but Tara and Trish will stand in their way, no doubt. Josie Wilde has been one of the toughest rookies the Academy's seen, and she's got her sights set on taking down Estrella Gratis, who's been constantly evolving from day one. There's no telling how this may turn out... but one thing is certain, they'll give us one hell of a show. Amber Wright has slowly begun to step away from the shadow of her living legend mother, Winifred, and is starting to make her own name... but against Iris Coleman, she's going to need more than just her own identity to come out ahead. Iris may go down as the best in the Academy to never hold the Championship, but with her plans seemingly set for her post-Academy career, it seems likely that she'll find herself meeting with success before too long. Asha Nelson and Maria Marella have been one of the biggest surprises in the Academy. Separately, they've been a little bit spotty, but as a team they've been fantastic... and the team of Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant might want to be very, very careful here, lest they get stunned by yet another display of pure technical ability. Jessika Boom and Sung Moon both have a very bright future in 2020. It's absolutely certain that both will land in Proving Ground come January, and the Proving Ground women's division will surely benefit... but first, they'll square off here in the Academy, one of their final meetings in this setting. Fiona Walsh has a bit of a tall order: squaring off against perhaps the Academy's brightest student. Anna Bryant has been described as a prodigy of sorts, and it's thought that she may jump to Showdown rather than Proving Ground... which could open the door for a tag team with her teacher Rilantha De Nav. But Fiona has started looking quite a bit better as of late, and could stun Anna with a huge win here. Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa are primed to be the first tag team champions in the Academy: with the most experience between them, and perhaps being one of the most dangerous teams around, Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine might have a tough time keeping up. But you can never count these two out: they've both been incredible talents, and could easily shock the more veteran team. Katherine White will tell you that she's already surpassed her older sister in the Academy: and it might be hard to argue that given Rachel's struggles. Still, she's taking on the inaugural Academy Champion here, and Leona Sterling might have the brightest future out of anyone that isn't Anna Bryant. With a UCSS match (and victory) already under her belt, Leona could be the breakout success story of 2019. Heather Wild wants to finish 2019 with a bang, but going up against the powerhouse that is Christina Wagner is no easy feat. Wagner (a co-founder of the Academy) may not have held the Academy Championship, but no doubt she'll terrorize Phoenix Rising in the near future... and Heather Wild on Saturday. Calista Vargas wants to finish her Academy run at the top. The young Brazilian has made reference to something big: a secret that she's keeping back until she's left the Academy. But she may not need anything bigger against La Corsaria... still, the Scottish pirate will be reluctant to give up the championship. This one's going to be a hell of a high-flying exchange... and there's no telling who may come out on top.

Only two Academy shows left... one house show, one live show. How's 2020 gonna look? Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/515568616Youtube: youtu.be/8QvtBmrw3foQuick Results Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa def. Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels Estrella Gratis def. Josie Wilde Iris Coleman def. Amber Wright Asha Nelson and Maria Marella def. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant Jessika Boom def. Sung Moon Anna Bryant def. Fiona Walsh Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa def. Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine Leona Sterling def. Katherine White Heather Wild def. Christina Wagner Calista Vargas def. La Corsaria to become the NEW Academy Champion Write-ups Keiko and Rei continue to live up to their name: White Hot is definitely accurate, as they've maybe been the best team over the past few months. They could be primed to be the first Academy tag champions... but there's a long road to walk yet. A match that just kept going back and forth... with Estrella finally digging deep and using Josie's finisher against her, picking up a huge win. Iris Coleman continues to look like a beast as 2019 closes out, tearing Amber apart despite the young woman aiming to wipe out Iris's legs... but a Triangle Lancer put this one away emphatically. Wild brawl throughout, with Rhiannon and Melody doing their best to neutralize their opponents, but Asha eventually saw her opportunity and seized it, an Ankle Lock putting this one away and keeping Asha and Maria looking strong as the tag rankings take shape. Two crushing Scissors Kicks couldn't keep Jessika down... and while she never fully managed to score any of her biggest moves, all she really needed was the Bow and Arrow to pick up a major victory over Moon. Anna Bryant once again shows why she's one of the Academy's brightest, with a relentless attack on Fiona using the Anaconda Vice... and the moment Fiona went on the attack, Anna stuffed it with a flash roll-up to pick up the win. A very solid performance from Nana and Peregrine... but a mental lapse cost them the win, as Emma rolled up Peregrine and took the win for the veterans. Katherine gave this one her all... even landing a Kat's Cradle powerbomb that nearly spelled the end. But eventually, Leona's submission game caught up, and Katherine was forced to give in to the dangerous Scot. Heather Wild just refused to die tonight. Despite Christina Wagner throwing her around like a ragdoll for much of the match, Heather just kept getting back up and continuing the fight... eventually landing a quick float-over DDT to score a huge upset victory. Corsaria was relentless tonight, but Calista was stubborn... enduring the bulldogs, the axe kicks, delivering sharp crossbodies and eventually landing a huge facebuster to pick up the win, and the Academy Championship, cementing her place in Academy history just a couple of months before she's due to move on.

This month's showcase match sees a revitalized Nana Yoon teaming up with Baby Peregrine to take on the team of Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant... and Melody's decided their team ought to LOOK like a team, as well. youtu.be/6IzpMCrC2mUQuick Results Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine def. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant Tara Helmsley def. Sung Moon Trish Michaels def. Jessika Boom Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa def. Heather Wild and Josie Wilde Leona Sterling def. Emma Travers Anna Bryant def. Katherine White, La Corsaria and Diosa Syringa Iris Coleman def. Fiona Walsh Christina Wagner def. Amber Wright Calista Vargas and Estrella Gratis def. Asha Nelson and Maria Marella Write-ups Nana Yoon, sporting a brand-new look and some new tricks up her sleeve, was dynamic as hell in this matchup, bringing a ton of life to the party and making Rhiannon and Melody work... but it was Baby Peregrine ultimately taking center stage in the end, a Stardust Press scoring the pinfall victory and giving Yoon and Peregrine another win towards their tag ranking. Tara Helmsley simply wouldn't be denied here: an unusual focus from the brash young star saw her kicking out of the Book End on a couple of occasions, and eventually stealing the win with a flash rollup. A very, very solid win for Tara. Tara's tag partner fared just as well, but was decidedly more dominant: Jessika ran into trouble landing anything major, and even found herself with stamina issues early on, which seemed to be a major factor in her defeat. A huge Heartbreaker superkick from Trish put this one away without leaving a single doubt: Tara and Trish might just be a duo that's gonna be very, very dangerous come 2020. Quickly becoming the team to beat, it seems, Keiko and Rei were once again a well-oiled machine, making life difficult for Heather and Josie throughout the match. Keiko wore both opponents down with her signature leg offense, along with her vicious power, and Rei was the crafty technician, eventually snapping a roll-up on Heather well away from their corner, making Keiko's cutoff job an easy one to pick up the victory. Emma simply couldn't keep up with the absolutely relentless Scot. Leona was absolutely explosive in this one, never letting up for a second, and capping off a truly dominant showing by locking in the Guillotine and putting Emma out. Katherine White looked poised to take this one without anyone standing in her way: a Kat's Cradle eliminated former champion La Corsaria, and not long after that, a flying cross armbreaker forced Diosa Syringa to tap out. But the moment Katherine reached her feet again, there was Anna Bryant lying in wait... snapping Katherine up in a Small Package Bomb and scoring the stunning victory, and reminding the crowd that Anna is still one of the best the Academy's got. Iris Coleman might already be looking forward to joining the Evergreen roster. This one was downright brutal: the very first knee Iris threw busted Fiona open, and it was simply downhill from there, with Iris picking Fiona apart before landing a crushing lariat to finish the job. Fiona's got something to look forward to, though... 2020 will see her pick up a proper tag partner, and one that's sure to give her a major boost... Amber Wright is a woman with no fear... taking the fight to Christina straight from the bell, she threw everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING in her arsenal at the German-Canadian powerhouse. But Christina just wouldn't stay down... and when Amber likewise refused, Christina decided to force the matter with a thunderous chokeslam, putting a cap on one hell of a matchup. A hell of a war between these two teams, with Maria determined to make a statement ahead of her championship match with Calista... but Estrella Gratis made her presence felt in the end, and forced Asha Nelson to tap out to a cross armbreaker. The score will be settled properly in two weeks... and the future of the Academy Championship will be decided. So, an update for 2020: I'm gonna go right ahead and post the roster for the new year. Some people are moving on, some people are sticking around, some people are brand-new to the Academy... but perhaps not to your eyes. First off: those being promoted or otherwise "graduating" from the Academy, for one reason or another (Mostly in that I feel they've earned their way to move forward.) La Corsaria, Anna Bryant, Sung Moon, Leona Sterling, Amber Wright, Katherine White, Jessika Boom, Christina Wagner, Calista Vargas, Iris Coleman, Estrella Gratis. Most of the above list will be making their way to Proving Ground, save for Iris Coleman who will be joining Evergreen Wrestling, and there are rumors that Anna Bryant may be hot-shotted straight to Showdown... but a decision has yet to be made on that front. (I'll admit I'm not sure what I'll do with Estrella but I may have her join Proving Ground as well, Osiris is of course welcome to continue adjusting her and making her better over time. We'll see how it all shakes out for the new year, there's gonna be a whole lot of shit goin' on and I have to manage it all. :V) So, without further ado: the 2020 Blackwood Academy roster, organized into face/heel and their official tag teams. Those new to the Academy will be listed in bold font. Faces
Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant Brianna Tierney and Angela Rothenberg Kasey Ryder and Jessica Kimbley Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren
Heels
Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels Heather Wild and Josie Wilde Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa Maria Marella and Asha Nelson Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell Naoko Yoshida and Shiori Yoshida (The Yoshida Twins) Brianna Tierney hails from Ireland, Kilkenny to be specific, and brings a very solid, well-rounded style to the Academy, capable of seemingly just about everything... she just needs that bit of seasoning. Angela Rothenberg has already made her mark by debuting in the Star of the Jar tournament, despite a first-round exit. Hailing from Hamburg, Germany, she's a raw, stout powerhouse, but has quite a bit of learning to do. Kasey Ryder is an energetic young woman: fast, agile, and capable of throwing a kick that'll take your head off. She's likely to become a huge personality, but for now she's got to figure out just what that's going to be, and how she'll move forward. Jessica Kimbley comes to us from Hana, and she is THE TOP DAWG. Hailing from England, she'll be working alongside Kasey Ryder, and the world better watch out. You all know Vanessa Saunders from her time in HONOO. A skilled (nay, devastating) kickboxer, she's now looking to leverage that into a wrestling career. Vanessa's partner is Helena Lundgren, and so far we know she seems to be a suplex-focused wrestler that would even make Melody Bryant jealous. She's a dangerous Swedish beast of a woman, and doesn't even turn 18 until the 5th of January! Virginia Caldwell is another woman looking to leverage her HONOO career into pro wrestling, although she has much less to work off of, having not found herself in the ring nearly as much as Vanessa before the promotion went quiet. Still, Virginia is a very, very skilled mat technician specializing in leg submissions... and of course this might spark some notice from a certain Proving Ground superstar. The Yoshida Twins need no introduction at this point. They've already made their first Academy appearance, having invaded the match between Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa at last month's house show, and defeating the veterans to boot. Naoko is the leg specialist, Shiori the armworker, and both are looking to ensure that the tag division is theirs, and theirs alone. If you can't tell, I'm really, REALLY looking forward to 2020 and getting these new edits rolling. For now, though... the Academy returns for its final show of 2019 in two weeks. Calista Vargas will defend the Academy Championship for the last time against Maria Marella, and the final matches of the tag ranking league will take place... whether they'll matter to the final standings remains to be seen.

About time I got this up. Y'know, only the day before I go out of town for a couple days. This Saturday, the Academy wraps up its usual business for the year... though, of course, it'll be right back in action on Monday's New Year's Bash, and the first house show of 2020, taking place January 11. But first: Saturday's live show, back in Proving Ground's home arena. (And only Proving Ground, 'cause the other shows are gonna be moving for the new year! I'll uh... add that into the main fed post from earlier today.) Asha Nelson vs. Estrella Gratis
Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa vs. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant
Fiona Walsh vs. Christina Wagner
Amber Wright vs. Jessika Boom
Heather Wild and Josie Wilde vs. Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine
Anna Bryant vs. Leona Sterling
Katherine White vs. Iris Coleman
Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa vs. Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels
La Corsaria vs. Sung Moon
Maria Marella vs. Calista Vargas for the Academy ChampionshipThe night kicks off with something we haven't seen much of lately: Asha Nelson in singles action, as her tag partner squares off for the Academy Championship. Asha takes on Estrella Gratis, and will be looking to send her opponent off in style... as though Asha ever does things any other way.
It's all about bragging rights... and a potentially slightly better position in the initial rankings. While neither of these teams is near the top, Keiko and Rei are looking to finish the league strong, currently sitting at a dead-even 5-5, placing them firmly in the middle of the pack... while Rhiannon and Melody have fared slightly worse, at 3-7. A win for Keiko and Rei would give them a solid shot at fighting into the top 5 before long... but Rhiannon and Melody will definitely want to spoil those aspirations.
Fiona Walsh has seen her fair share of struggles as a singles competitor in the Academy, though lately she may be finding herself... though, here against Christina Wagner, she may have an uphill battle. Still, she has a lot to look forward to in 2020... with her partner being former HONOO competitor Virginia Caldwell and perhaps on the cusp of a shot at being the first Academy Tag Team Champions, the future looks bright.
It's a big send-off for these two, with Amber Wright and Jessika Boom looking to maybe steal the show in their last Academy match. With both headed to Proving Ground, they'll certainly cross paths again... but knowing this setting, they could still be in for one hell of a night.
Wild and Wilde wound up having a surprising struggle in the tag league, coming into their last match at 3-7, the same as Rhiannon and Melody... and against Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine, who clocked in only slightly better, this one's pretty much all for bragging rights in the end. And with Peregrine likely to focus more on singles, we may not see as much of their team in 2020 as one might expect.
Anna Bryant, the hot-shot prospect without any doubt... headed straight for Showdown's Pacific Northwest division on recommendation of the Academy trainers, sends off her run against the woman she defeated to originally become Academy Champion earlier in the year. No doubt Leona will seek to avenge that defeat once and for all before they part ways...
Katherine White has remained probably one of the cockiest women in the Academy, and nothing appears to have changed that even as she takes on the one woman set to join the roster of Evergreen Wrestling. Iris Coleman has proven she's more than capable of silencing any ego she steps into the ring with... but Katherine has been known to score some wild upsets in her Academy tenure, as well...
This is the match that matters. With Asha Nelson and Maria Marella already locked into the top spot in the tag league, it falls to Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa, to take their fate into their own hands as they take on Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels. A win would send Emma and Syringa to New Year's Bash to face Asha and Maria... a loss would give Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell the match via tiebreaker. Everything's on the line here... the New Year's Bash card will be nearly finalized right here.
La Corsaria and Sung Moon have been two of the best of the best as the year draws to an end, and they'll close things out before the title match, looking to finish 2019 on a high note. No doubt Moon will want to avenge her defeat at the hands of Corsaria two months ago, costing her the Academy Championship...
And finally, we come to the last match of the night. Maria Marella has risen through the ranks for this opportunity, and has her chance to dethrone Calista Vargas, as well as set herself up with a second match at New Year's Bash... but no matter who wins, they'll be staring down Nana Yoon on the other side for the final Academy match of 2019.

That'll do it for the Academy this year... the first house show of 2020 will be in a couple of weeks to kick off January, and we're off and running with the new roster. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/527792064Youtube: Quick Results Estrella Gratis def. Asha Nelson Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa def. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant Christina Wagner def. Fiona Walsh Jessika Boom def. Amber Wright Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine def. Heather Wild and Josie Wilde Leona Sterling def. Anna Bryant Katherine White def. Iris Coleman Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa def. Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels Sung Moon def. La Corsaria Maria Marella def. Calista Vargas to become the NEW Academy Champion Write-ups Estrella Gratis sends off her time in the Academy with a bang, forcing Asha Nelson to tap out to a vicious armbar, and even after enduring Asha's ankle lock on a couple of occasions. Keiko Maeda simply wouldn't be denied tonight... the teamwork between her and Rei never looking stronger, and a crushing powerbomb in the center of the ring ensured they'd finish the night feeling good. Fiona Walsh, sporting a new look and some new tactics, nevertheless found herself overpowered by the ferocity of Christina Wagner... still, there's a lot to be impressed by here, with Fiona looking very dangerous going into the new year, and no doubt we'll see a lot of her soon enough alongside new partner Virginia Caldwell... Jessika Boom was in deep trouble for a lot of this match... and Amber's brutal Triangle Scorpion hold looked ready to destroy her, the young Dynamite fangirl writhing in pain after Amber's last use of the move... but she didn't tap out. Instead, she summoned up every bit of willpower and strength she had left, and caught Amber in a flash roll-up, scoring the shocking comeback victory, and limped off to the back for some much-deserved rest. Nana Yoon remains locked in for her big match on Monday... eventually managing to put this one away in surprising fashion, with a submission on Heather, and finished her year strong alongside Baby Peregrine. Leona Sterling was out to avenge one of the only losses anyone remembers her suffering... the night she lost the Academy Championship to Anna Bryant. And she did just that, forgoing much of her usual submission game and instead beating the fight out of Anna with vicious strike combos en route to a major victory. God help Proving Ground's Inspire division... they may need it against Leona. Just like so many other times this year, Katherine White silenced anyone who counted her out before this match began. She fought through every bit of Iris's overwhelming offense, wearing the bigger woman down before landing a Kat's Cradle to finish off one hell of an upset victory... although, how much longer can we call these "upsets" for her? Emma and Syringa once again cemented their position at the top... a long, drawn-out victory may not be what they were after, but the win itself sets them up with the tag title match on Monday's New Year's Bash against Maria and Asha, and potentially ensuring they'll be at the top of the tag division for a good long while. This might've been the most aggressive, fast-paced match of the night. There was absolutely no hesitation for a second here: Corsaria and Moon were locked in from the bell, with Corsaria setting the stage out of the corner before a Scissors Kick evened things out. But it was the diving Hangover leg drop that settled the score here, the young Korean picking up a big win in her final Academy match, and sending off 2019 with her usual Spinaroonie. Maria Marella clearly isn't afraid of wrestling twice in one night... which is exactly what she'll do on Monday. This one was wild... drawn-out, with both women landing everything in their arsenals, but Maria's vicious Reverse DDT, leading into her F- camel clutch, finally gave her the win, the title, and a second match at New Year's Bash. That's gonna do it for the Academy this year, but of course, we'll be back again in two weeks with 2020's first house show... with the brand-new rosters. See you then.

So, first thing's first, let's get a quick update on what the new rankings are looking like: for both singles and tag-team action. First, the singles rankings, all vying for the Academy Championship now held by Nana Yoon. 1. Vanessa Saunders 2. Brianna Tierney 3. Kasey Ryder 4. Fiona Walsh 5. Diosa Syringa 6. Baby Peregrine 7. Jessica Kimblee 8. Shiori Yoshida 9. Emma Travers 10. Angela Rothenberg 11. Rhiannon Banes 12. Helena Lundgren 13. Tara Helmsley 14. Josie Wilde 15. Heather Wild 16. Rei Hasegawa 17. Virginia Caldwell 18. Naoko Yoshida 19. Trish Michaels 20. Asha Nelson 21. Maria Marella 22. Keiko Maeda 23. Melody BryantSome surprises, some completely unsurprising. Vanessa Saunders absolutely took the ranking league by storm and easily took the top spot, though Brianna Tierney gave her a fight to the end. Saunders will get her shot against Nana Yoon at the first live show of 2020, coming up on January 25th, but will first make her proper Academy debut this Saturday, the 11th. Secondly, the Academy tag team rankings. Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers captured the brand-new Academy Tag Team Championships at New Year's Bash, and sent their opponents, Maria Marella and Asha Nelson, to the back of the line... but no doubt they'll fight their way back up in due time. Besides that, here are the rankings for the tag division. 1. Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell2. The Yoshida Twins3. Brianna Tierney and Angela Rothenberg4. Jessica Kimblee and Kasey Ryder5. Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa6. Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine7. Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels8. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant9. Heather Wild and Josie Wilde10. Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren11. Asha Nelson and Maria MarellaThat takes care of the ranking situation. I'll note that if a wrestler ends up being next in line for both titles at once, or a champion is in line for the other title, I'm likely to skip over them for the moment and give them their earned opportunity as soon as the situation's resolved. Right now this isn't an issue, but I'm going to try and avoid overlapping the two titles so as to avoid any potential double-booking in the future. Maria Marella's situation at New Year's Bash was a special case because of the new rankings. NOW THEN, moving on to January's house show: the card shakes out like so. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant vs. Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa Fiona Walsh vs. Diosa SyringaHelena Lundgren vs. Maria Marella Jessica Kimblee vs. Josie Wilde Yoshida Twins vs. Brianna Tierney and Angela Rothenberg Kasey Ryder vs. Heather WildVirginia Caldwell vs. Emma Travers Vanessa Saunders vs. Asha NelsonNana Yoon and Baby Peregrine vs. Tara Helmsley and Trish MichaelsI'll be posting this show on Saturday, of course, in the usual format. The showcase match this month will be #1 contender Vanessa Saunders vs. Asha Nelson, giving us our first glimpse of Vanessa outside of the HONOO context. Most debuting stars wouldn't get the shot at the title so soon, but Vanessa's background, popularity and success in HONOO helped carry her through the ranking league, and thus, she's being thrown into the deep end... a very sink-or-swim moment for the young kickboxer.
we also haven't quite figured out whether Vanessa's gotten out of her "shoot" mindset yet

This month's house show has wrapped up, and it feels like we've confirmed quite a few suspicions already: the newcomers may be fresh faces, but you do not want to underestimate what they're capable of in the slightest. This month's Showcase match: youtu.be/ba7r-Nq37UoQuick Results Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant def. Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa Fiona Walsh def. Diosa Syringa Helena Lundgren def. Maria Marella Jessica Kimblee def. Josie Wilde The Yoshida Twins def. Brianna Tierney and Angela Rothenberg Kasey Ryder def. Heather Wild Emma Travers def. Virginia Caldwell Vanessa Saunders def. Asha Nelson Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine def. Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels Write-ups A strong showing for Rhiannon and Melody after a disappointing run in the ranking league, with Melody's power finally giving them the upper hand over Keiko and Rei en route to a big-time German suplex, and the big victory, the first of the new year. Fiona Walsh is already out to prove she's a new woman in 2020, coming roaring out of the gate and brutalizing one-half of the current Academy Tag Team Champions in Diosa Syringa. A quick backslide counter proved the winning move, but Fiona was certainly more dynamic through this one, picking up a major victory over an Academy mainstay. Helena Lundgren simply exploded into the Academy with this match, showing off some serious power in her debut match, firing off suplexes in very, very impressive fashion against Maria Marella. Helena appears to have a bright future ahead of her if she can keep this up... effortlessly throwing Maria with the infamous Karelin Lift is a testament to that. Another newcomer, another big win. Jessica Kimblee (see, I'm spelling it right now) kept a blistering pace against Josie Wilde, overcoming the strength difference with pure technique. No doubt the Top Dog will be one to watch as the year goes on. The Yoshida Twins technically already made their debut some time ago, but they're finally officially part of the roster, and celebrated this fact with another impressive win. A quick-thinking counter from Shiori into an armlock scored the win, reminding the Academy that no matter how good they may be... these two are twins, they know each other better than any team around, and they could very well be the most dangerous duo in the Academy now. Kasey Ryder made her debut a memorable one, putting on an absolute show with Heather Wild as the two went back and forth constantly... but it was a big-time diving stomp from Ryder that finally put this one away, though not without her signature kick rearing its head as well. Kasey may find herself scoring some big wins with what she's got in her arsenal... Virginia Caldwell was the only newcomer that seemed to fall short here, with the relative experience of Emma Travers, coupled with perhaps Virginia still making the transition from HONOO to wrestling, proving decisive. Still, there was a lot to be proud of here: she was able to bring her leg-work to bear well against Emma, even if she got taken out by an Exploder suplex. The two will share a ring again later in the month when Virginia and Fiona Walsh challenge for the Academy Tag Team Championships: with the teams going 1-1 against each other on this show, the tag match could be anyone's game. Vanessa Saunders may not have any trouble transitioning into pro wrestling from her previous career. Although Asha Nelson gave this one her best, even managing to lock in that devastating Ankle Lock at one point, Vanessa would not be denied her debut victory... and she scored it the only way she'd ever be likely to do so, with a crushing high kick that laid Asha out for an easy pinfall. The Academy Champion stepped up here, and alongside Baby Peregrine, there was simply no doubt that they'd handle the Rule XXX team of Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels. With Nana now setting her sights on the live show in two weeks, she'll need to be prepared for a sort of opponent she's never really faced: Vanessa Saunders will not be an easy victory, there's certainly no doubt about that. The next Academy show will be in two weeks, on January 25th, streamed live as usual from the Academy Gym in Vancouver, BC, with your co-main events being Fiona Walsh/Virginia Caldwell vs. Emma Travers/Diosa Syringa for the Academy Tag Team Championships, and Vanessa Saunders vs. Nana Yoon for the Academy Championship.

Last Saturday of the month, you know what that means... Maria Marella vs. Naoko Yoshida
Jessica Kimblee and Kasey Ryder vs. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant
Shiori Yoshida vs. Angela Rothenberg
Asha Nelson vs. Brianna Tierney
Keiko Maeda and Rei Hasegawa vs. Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels
Helena Lundgren vs. Josie Wilde
Heather Wild vs. Baby Peregrine
Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell vs. Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers for the Academy Tag Team Championships
Vanessa Saunders vs. Nana Yoon for the Academy ChampionshipWe open with Maria Marella taking on one-half of the Yoshida Twins... as a team, they've made quite the impact thus far, but how will the leg-focused Naoko do on her own? Against Maria's technical ability, there may be only so far she can go...
Rhiannon and Melody have had a rocky start to their team, but they'll be hoping to set things right as they take on two newcomers in Jessica Kimblee (the TOP DAWG, don't you know) and Kasey Ryder. We haven't seen much of this duo yet, but Kimblee has been a highly-touted prospect from day one... and Ryder could very well be a wild-card in the ring.
Shiori Yoshida may have the tougher match as opposed to her twin: facing off against the powerhouse Angela Rothenberg, her best bet will likely be to keep up her focus on the arms... while avoiding Angela's ferocious strength. A win here could be big news for the twins... success in singles and tag? Sounds terrifying...
Asha Nelson has had a rough go of it in singles... alongside Maria Marella, she's done well enough, but she'll fly solo against Brianna Tierney, something of an unknown quantity thus far. The Irish newcomer has proven a solid wrestler so far, but can she keep up that momentum?
The Academy's most popular team (by this point, it's hard to deny) takes on the brash young duo of Rule XXX: Tara Helmsley and Trish Michaels remain two of the tougher women in the Academy, and the White Hot team of Keiko and Rei will certainly have their hands full... especially given their match with the Muscle Machines in Lightning Pro earlier.
Helena Lundgren might be one of the best pure wrestlers the Academy's seen thus far. Raw and untrained, somewhat, but seriously dangerous... the Swedish rookie takes on Josie Wilde, who's surprisingly tough herself. There's no telling how this one might go.
Heather Wild continues to try and bring herself to the top of the heap... be it alongside Josie Wilde or flying solo. But this may be above the would-be rockstar's head... Baby Peregrine has her eyes on reaching the top once more, and there might not be anyone capable of stopping her now.
Fiona Walsh's struggles in 2019 were well-documented... slowly but surely, though, she's improved by leaps and bounds, and now, she steps into the ring alongside her new tag team partner, Virginia Caldwell, to challenge for the Academy Tag Team Champions. But with Syringa and Emma the proper veterans of the Academy by now, can anyone really stand up to them?
Vanessa Saunders has a strong history: some might ask why she's been given the opportunity to face the champion so soon, in only her second "official" Academy matchup, and her first one televised. But there's simply no denying that Vanessa has built her reputation outside of the Academy... and while her background is as a shoot-fighter, she seems to be taking to the wrestling style well enough so far. This, however, will be a real test: Nana Yoon stands in her way, and the Academy Champion is no pushover. We will see how Vanessa rises to the occasion here...

2020 off to a roaring start for the Academy, with a damn fine show to open the live season. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/541981499Youtube: youtu.be/qgSRLfGKgk8Quick Results Maria Marella def. Naoko Yoshida Jessica Kimblee and Kasey Ryder def. Rhiannon Banes and Melody Bryant Shiori Yoshida def. Angela Rothenberg Asha Nelson def. Brianna Tierney White Hot (Rei and Keiko) def. Rule XXX (Tara and Trish) Baby Peregrine def. Heather Wild Helena Lundgren def. Josie Wilde Emma Travers and Diosa Syringa def. Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell to retain the Academy Tag Team Championships Nana Yoon def. Vanessa Saunders to retain the Academy Championship Write-ups Tough singles debut for Naoko here, unable to fully bring her submission game to bear before Maria locked her in that vicious full-nelson camel clutch, forcing a tapout from the twin in the opener. A fresh new team they might be, but Jessica and Kasey are already showing signs of some serious teamwork, handling the more established duo of Rhiannon and Melody, who are still figuring out some parts of their gameplan, it would seem. Shiori fared better than her twin tonight, weathering the vicious storm of Angela's powerhouse offense, and landing a huge diving senton to pick up the win. Even with Asha's slight experience advantage, it's not hard to call this one an upset. Asha, however, refused to give an inch to Brianna Tierney, and finally delivered a cutter that put the young Irish rookie down for the count, and set Asha up with a surprise shot at the Academy Championship next month. White Hot bounced back in a hurry from their Lightning Pro defeat, though this one took some serious doing. Keiko Maeda, however, was her usual self throughout this one... showing her power, while Rei brought the speed, and together they brought down Rule XXX and came away with an important victory. Baby Peregrine just keeps getting better. Another win over a mainstay of the Academy roster, taking down Heather Wild with a Small Package Bomb, and no doubt Peregrine is likely to find herself at the top once again, sooner rather than later. Helena Lundgren stood up against every single thing that Josie had to throw her way. Lariats aplenty, raw power from Josie, met with the same from Helena, who would eventually land a crushing powerbomb... Helena makes her first opponent on a live Academy show bow to the might of the Swedish rookie powerhouse. It's tough to step into the ring with the two veterans of the Academy: Emma and Syringa have proven time and again that they're two of the best around, and deserve to be the tag team champions. It's even tougher when one half of your team is making her live show debut... but make no mistake, Virginia Caldwell was no weak link here, determined to get a hold of someone's leg and practically rip it off. But it was Emma that got the last laugh here, locking in Surgical Precision on Fiona, and retaining the tag team championships. Nana Yoon would not be denied here. After winning the Academy Championship one month ago, she wasn't about to drop it to someone making her live show debut... even if she was one of the more dangerous fighters in HONOO's run. Vanessa Saunders delivered what she could, but Nana refused to quit, landing a huge diving stomp and sending Vanessa to the back of the line.

Here we are, with February's house show. This month's Showcase match: Jessica Kimblee vs. Shiori Yoshida. Quick Results Jessica Kimblee def. Shiori Yoshida Naoko Yoshida def. Emma Travers Wild and Wilde Inc. def. White Hot Diosa Syringa def. Virginia Caldwell Fiona Walsh def. Melody Bryant Tara Helmsley def. Angela Rothenberg, Helena Lundgren, Rhiannon Banes Brianna Tierney def. Trish Michaels Vanessa Saunders def. Kasey Ryder (but doesn't take her spot, reasoning in the write-ups) Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine def. Asha Nelson and Maria Marella Write-ups A very fine opener, seeing both women give it their all in a back-and-forth match that saw neither giving an inch... but Jessica would ultimately come out ahead, landing a big rolling German suplex to finish things off in style. The Top Dog continues to look strong in her early days with the Academy. This could be trouble for the Academy Tag Team Champions later in the month: with the Yoshida Twins next in line, seeing Naoko absolutely dominant over Emma Travers is definitely a sign that trouble is on its way, and the Yoshidas could easily find themselves at the top before long. Wild and Wilde Inc. continue to look like a very dangerous duo, as they gain more and more experience... scoring a vital win over the rising stars of White Hot. Heather Wild continues to show that she's one of the brightest future stars, forcing Keiko Maeda to submit to a vicious chickenwing facelock. A rough outing for Virginia as she took on one-half of the tag champs, and never seemed to be able to get the full brunt of her offense out there. Syringa simply overwhelmed her with speed and technique, and a Swanton Bomb finished the job and reminded everyone who the most experienced woman in the Academy is. Fiona Walsh has definitely reinvented herself for the new year, by now, and could be poised for a massive breakout sooner rather than later. This was nothing short of a squash over Melody, who may need to find some new tricks to catch up with the rest of the field. To the surprise of all, it was the two powerhouses that fell first in this 4-way matchup, first seeing Helena eliminate Angela with a brutal Dragon Suplex, shortly before falling victim to Rhiannon Banes... who then turned to Tara Helmsley, but couldn't put the leader of Rule XXX away before eating a brutal spinebuster. Tara picks up a huge victory here. In terms of action, this might've been the highlight of the show. This was a straight brawl for a lot of the time, a sustained fight on the outside, but Brianna would ultimately take things back in and put Trish away, once again showing her raw potential. Kasey Ryder put up a hell of a fight here... but despite being next in line for a shot at the Academy Championship, Vanessa Saunders would ultimately overwhelm her with kicks, and put her down. Afterwards, however, Vanessa was clear about one thing: although she was given the opportunity to face such a highly-ranked member of the roster, she would not accept Kasey's ranking, opting instead to remain where she was. Future bookings for Vanessa will likely see her facing the lower ranks so she can work her way up the long way. If there wasn't a rule against double champions in the Academy, Nana Yoon might very well be fully capable of being one. Alongside Peregrine, this was absolutely in favor of their team, perhaps painting a bleak picture for Asha Nelson later in the month when she faces Yoon one-on-one for the Academy Championship...

It's a touch earlier than usual, but there's a bit of a development that just took place, and I feel it's necessary to get this posted today. Let's start at the top: Keiko Maeda <Everyone's already seen Showdown by now... the match between Cassandra Marshall and my mother, Yuki Maeda. A match that saw Cassandra nearly injure her. I will count you lucky that she was not seriously hurt, but it doesn't change what I want to do at this month's Academy show. I want Marshall, in that ring, one-on-one. I will settle this myself, I will stand up against her for what she's done. Eve has already signed off... all that remains is for you to accept, to make your way up here, and face me. I'll be waiting.> Cassandra Marshall (oh my) "Keiko Maeda wants a match. I gotta say, I didn't see it comin', really. Maybe I should've, wipin' out Yuki the way I did on Monday. But she wants me to make my way up to Vancouver, and step into the Academy ring for the first time. I ain't gonna turn the kid down, either. Keiko wants to step in with the new Pacific Northwest Champion? I ain't gonna tell her no. I gotta admit... I like the spirit bein' shown. So I'll take on Keiko, two days before I'm set to face Todd Colton. I'll show the Vancouver crowd, the Academy students, every single one of ya', how things are done down in Houston. And I'll damn sure teach ya' somethin' along the way, Keiko. Good luck to ya'. You're gonna need it." Yes, that's right... the challenge has been issued, and the Academy will host its first outsider... well, ever, if I'm not mistaken (the few matches with the trainers don't count... Shiana, Ril, Winifred and Eve, that is.) Keiko's clearly looking for something big this month... and honestly? Even if she doesn't win this (and I don't exactly expect her to...) she may be able to raise her stock considerably...
Angela Rothenberg vs. Melody Bryant
Brianna Tierney vs. Trish Michaels Helena Lundgren and Vanessa Saunders vs. Wild and Wilde Inc. Tara Helmsley vs. Rhiannon Banes Kasey Ryder vs. Fiona Walsh Virginia Caldwell vs. Rei Hasegawa vs. Maria Marella Baby Peregrine vs. Jessica Kimblee Keiko Maeda vs. Cassandra Marshall The Yoshida Twins vs. Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers for the Academy Tag Team Championships Asha Nelson vs. Nana Yoon for the Academy ChampionshipThe night kicks off with resident German powerhouse Angela Rothenberg meeting a similarly strong opponent in Melody Bryant. Melody's found herself struggling greatly as of late, both in tag matches and on her own, but she always seems to be just on the verge of breaking out... and perhaps a win over Rothenberg will be the kickstart she needs.
It's been up and down for Rule XXX, though perhaps it's mostly been up for Tara Helmsley, and down for Trish Michaels. Still, Trish can never be counted out, and against Brianna Tierney, she'll be out to score a big win and regain her standing... no doubt all it'll take is one good Superkick to get the job done.
Wild and Wilde Inc. might be close to their big moment as a team. They've grown into one of the Academy's finest... and they're up against two newcomers in Helena and Vanessa. But the biggest question is: can Heather's technical prowess and Josie's roughneck brawling overcome the shoot-style power their opponents are packing?
Tara Helmsley might be on a bit of a hot streak. After plowing through three other opponents earlier in the month, she's now got her sights locked in on a rematch with Rhiannon Banes... this time, one-on-one, with no Angela or Helena to stand between them. Can Tara score another big win over Rhiannon?
Kasey Ryder has yet to make a big name for herself thus far in the Academy, but that could all change in a hurry against Fiona Walsh: this match set to determine which of the two gets to be next in line after Asha Nelson, the #2 and #3 to Asha's #1. And no doubt, both women will come into this one with something to prove.
A 3-way match set up thanks to Keiko's challenge slightly skewing the card, we'll see the #15-17 ranked wrestlers square off: Virginia Caldwell's dangerous submission game, Rei Hasegawa's impressive athleticism and agility, and Maria Marella's raw technical ability. It's a major clash of styles... but only one woman can stand tall at the end.
The brightest star of last year's rookie class taking on the Top Dog: this one's gonna be good. Baby Peregrine, despite not yet holding any gold in the Academy, has been one of the best raw talents the Academy's seen... and Jessica Kimblee may be matching her with a very impressive look these first two months. Nothing much else to say here... this is just gonna be a damn fine match, any way you look at it.
Keiko Maeda wanted this match, and she'll get it. Cassandra Marshall, the newly-crowned Pacific Northwest Champion, will come to the Academy for the first time ever, and square off with the daughter of the woman she wiped out Monday night on Showdown... Keiko wants a measure of revenge for the act, but is she getting in over her head here? (She is absolutely in over her head)
The Academy Tag Team Champions defend their belts for the second time here, this time against perhaps the most popular team in the Academy, the Yoshida Twins. Already making a big name for themselves, Naoko and Shiori are now looking to add to their already-impressive run here in the Academy (less than two months in!) as they seek to claim the tag titles, but they'll have to beat the most experienced duo around to make it happen...
Finally, we close out the night with an Academy Championship match that's guaranteed gold. Asha Nelson has worked her way up through the ranks the hard way: a latecomer to last year's rookie class, she's still managed to keep pace with the rest, and could outpace them with a win over Nana Yoon. But Yoon's been the undisputed top of the heap these past two months... does Asha have what it takes to dethrone the young Korean?
This month's show will be Saturday, February 29 (ha, Leap Day!).

It's not often I come away from a show feeling that good about it, but man, do I feel good about this one. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/560107773Youtube: youtu.be/Et4T_qfTDm0Quick Results Angela Rothenberg def. Melody Bryant Trish Michaels def. Brianna Tierney Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren def. Wild and Wilde Inc. Rhiannon Banes def. Tara Helmsley Kasey Ryder def. Fiona Walsh Rei Hasegawa def. Virginia Caldwell and Maria Marella Baby Peregrine def. Jessica Kimblee Cassandra Marshall def. Keiko Maeda The Yoshida Twins def. Diosa Syringa and Emma Travers to become the NEW Academy Tag Team Champions Nana Yoon def. Asha Nelson to retain the Academy Championship Write-ups This seemed to set the stage for the night... with Angela and Melody both showing tremendous strength. But Melody seems to have a bit of a gap in her skillset that Angela does not lack... and the German's submission game proved the decisive edge she needed to pick up the victory, twisting Melody into a brutal hold to score the victory. Trish Michaels remains one of the most dynamic (and unpredictable) forces on the Academy roster... and Brianna Tierney definitely learned that here, with Michaels crushing her with a brutal superkick to wrap up a big win. A very early candidate for match of the night here, as all four women showed incredible skill in this one, teamwork flowing beautifully on both sides, and everyone getting a chance to show what they were made of. But this time, it was Helena Lundgren that came out on top, roaring through the final moments of the match with a brutal sequence that kept Heather down for the count. This was exactly what you'd expect from these two: with Rhiannon bringing that vicious brawling style she's starting to become known for, and Tara... doing what Tara always does. Her cocky attitude cost her tonight, as Rhiannon was able to quickly roll her up, showing a rare flash of technical ability. In a battle to decide who would be the challenge for the Academy Championship in March, Kasey Ryder and Fiona Walsh went through a wild sprint of a match, but a running boot to the skull proved to be the match-winner for Kasey, as she kept herself on track for a clash with the champion next month. An unthinkable result one year ago... what a difference it makes. Rei Hasegawa was smart and skilled in this one, slipping past Maria Marella's technical ability, and managing to endure Virginia Caldwell's brutal legwork to pick up a fantastic victory. Rei's a completely different woman from the one who joined the Academy last year... and everyone's better off for it. Baby Peregrine remains every bit as good as she's ever been. The young luchadora simply just keeps getting better, overwhelming Jessica Kimblee with her speed and agility, and despite Jessica trying to mount a comeback, Peregrine had done her damage and scored the victory with a Small Package Driver. Exactly what everyone expected to happen, although Keiko handled herself better than expected. Still, the outcome was never in doubt, with Cassandra introducing the young Keiko to her brand of Texan brawling, before forcing her to submit to the Torture Cloverleaf. The first tag match of the night was good. This was better. The Yoshida Twins continue to make their case for being the best tag team in the Academy, and... well, it's kind of hard to doubt them after winning this match and becoming the NEW Academy Tag Team Champions. It wasn't for lack of trying by the former champs... but Naoko and Shiori were absolutely relentless, culminating in Shiori landing a flying armbar and scoring a submission victory. The twins are on top... but can they stay there? Who can stop Nana Yoon? It seems it won't be Asha Nelson, who gave it a solid attempt, but just couldn't keep up with Yoon... even though she damn well tried to match the champion's fast pace. But a diving stomp out of the corner spelled the end, and Nana Yoon remains your Academy Champion.

So, right away: I forgot to record a showcase match for this one, so we're going totally screenshot this month. Sorry. Also didn't post the card ahead of time, so uh. What you're about to see: Vanessa Saunders vs. Melody BryantHelena Lundgren vs. Josie WildeWhite Hot vs. Asha Nelson and Maria MarellaHeather Wild vs. Virginia CaldwellFiona Walsh vs. Rhiannon BanesDiosa Syringa and Emma Travers vs. Rule XXXShiori Yoshida vs. Angela RothenbergNaoko Yoshida vs. Brianna TierneyKasey Ryder and Jessica Kimblee vs. Nana Yoon and Baby PeregrineWrite-upsA truly dominant showing from Vanessa here. Melody just never got anything going, and Vanessa's kicks wore her down in impressive fashion. Saunders now seems to be setting her sights on progressing back up the ladder... the hard way. Not to be outdone by her tag partner, Helena traded blows with Josie Wilde without hesitation: both of these powerhouses dealt out everything they had, but a vicious fight on the outside seemed to tip the scales in Helena's favor. Still, it was Josie making a brief mistake on the top turnbuckle that settled this one... Helena countering into a crushing powerbomb from the top rope that scored a colossal victory. White Hot's teamwork just keeps getting better... and Keiko just keeps getting stronger. Asha and Maria were solid here, but Keiko and Rei were simply better, with Keiko showing off just how much she's learned. Perhaps her match with Cassandra at the February show did her some good. As dangerous as Virginia Caldwell is, Heather Wild was able to avoid most of her most devastating submissions, and despite having her legs cranked on multiple times, held out long enough to land a crushing float-over DDT to score an impressive victory. Every bit as hard-hitting and brutal as we've come to expect from both women here, with Rhiannon aiming to put Fiona away with the Superman Punch, but finding herself unable to finish the job. Fiona would eventually catch Rhiannon with a brutal Uranage, and locked in a submission to finish the job. The former champions once again showed why they were the inaugural tag champions, despite their loss to the Yoshida Twins. Teamwork defined this one, with plenty of double-teams to be had, but once again it was Emma who sealed the win, countering Tara Helmsley into a quick leg submission for the victory. One-half of the reigning Academy tag champs, Shiori made sure the world knows it as she seemingly dismantled Angela Rothenberg here. Angela did get her shots in, but Shiori was simply the better woman here, picking her apart and landing a crushing finishing blow. Naoko had a fair bit more trouble putting Brianna Tierney away, with this match turning into a war early on. But Naoko's vicious attack eventually took the Irishwoman down, concluding with one of the tag champion's most brutal submission holds to score a big victory ahead of the tag title defense later this month. Could be a very good sign for the reigning Academy Champion... managing to bring down her next challenger here in tag action. But she won't have backup when these two face off later in the month... Kasey Ryder will also be looking for some serious payback as she seeks the championship. What will happen when they face off one-on-one? We'll catch back up in two weeks for March's live show... this one's gonna be the big three-month show, as usual, so we'll have entrances, and the full experience. Fun times ahead. The Yoshida Twins will defend their tag titles against Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney, and Nana Yoon will defend her Academy Championship against Kasey Ryder.

March's live show will be taking place this Saturday, as it's the end of the month. You know the drill by now. Of course, this being the third month... it's time to run in the bigger arena. Entrances and all. This one's gonna be fun. Trish Michaels vs. Emma Travers
Wild and Wilde Inc. vs. Asha Nelson and Maria Marella
Melody Bryant vs. Virginia Caldwell
Baby Peregrine vs. Jessica Kimblee
White Hot vs. Helena Lundgren and Vanessa Saunders
Diosa Syringa vs. Fiona Walsh
Tara Helmsley vs. Rhiannon Banes
Kasey Ryder vs. Nana Yoon for the Academy Championship
Brianna Tierney and Angela Rothenberg vs. The Yoshida Twins for the Academy Tag Team Championships Things start hot with Trish Michaels making a rare singles appearance to take on Emma Travers. The Academy's resident wrestling doctor has been tough to beat as of late, but Trish has been known to be a dangerous part of the roster... and there's no telling how this opener might play out. Wild and Wilde Inc. have become quite the team, with Heather and Josie scoring some major victories, albeit having taken a few losses as well. Asha and Maria, meanwhile, have been a solid team together, but have yet to fully put all of the pieces together... but this could be the start of something big, if they can pull off the win. Melody Bryant's run with the Academy has been... rough, lately. But she's looking to take herself out of her slump, coming after Virginia Caldwell. It's pure wrestling and suplexes against Virginia's shoot-style submission game... and Melody might have her work cut out for her. Baby Peregrine remains near the top of the heap in the Academy, month after month... but Jessica Kimblee now has her sights set on living up to her Top Dog name, as she comes after one of the best around. Jessica's going to need to be at her best here... but a win would get her ever closer to a shot at the Academy Championship. White Hot continues to get better and better every month. The rise of Rei and Keiko has been well-documented at this point, but against Helena and Vanessa, can they keep any sort of momentum rolling? Knowing the raw power Helena has, and the vicious kicks that Vanessa brings to the table, it's not going to be an easy month for White Hot. Diosa Syringa remains the veteran of the Academy. Some wonder what keeps her here, but the fact remains: she's around, and she'll continue to endure as long as she's getting matches. This month, it's Fiona Walsh that steps up to face her, and as always, it could be a tough one for Fiona as she takes on one of the best of the best. Tara Helmsley could set herself up big this month if she can get through the young Welsh rookie, Rhiannon Banes... Tara's never been so close to the top as she is now, and this could be her breakout moment. But Rhiannon will be looking to hold her position... and reality could set in if Rhiannon has her way. Kasey Ryder has her first major opportunity this month, set to take on Nana Yoon for the Academy Championship. Kasey's one of the Academy's newest, freshest faces... but Nana Yoon's been surprisingly tough to beat as champion, and Kasey will no doubt have to be at the top of her game if she wants to end Nana's reign at the top. The Yoshida Twins have been, without a doubt, the most popular team in the Academy from the moment they debuted, and their winning of the Tag Team Championships seemed inevitable from the start. But Brianna Tierney and Angela Rothenberg look to topple them right away in their first defense... the unlikely alliance of Irish and German holding a ton of potential to be the best team in the Academy. It's hard to tell how this will play out... but it's the first time that the Tag Team Championships will main event an Academy show, and everyone will be looking to make an impact because of that fact.

Another month come and gone... let's take a look. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/578069785Youtube: youtu.be/Z5lmc44nT-4Quick Results Emma Travers def. Trish Michaels Wild and Wilde Inc. def. Asha Nelson and Maria Marella Virginia Caldwell def. Melody Bryant Jessica Kimblee def. Baby Peregrine White Hot def. Vanessa Saunders and Helena Lundgren Diosa Syringa def. Fiona Walsh Rhiannon Banes def. Tara Helmsley Kasey Ryder def. Nana Yoon to become the NEW Academy Champion The Yoshida Twins def. Angela Rothenberg and Brianna Tierney to retain the Academy Tag Team Championships Write-ups A hot opener, without a doubt, with both women stealing the tactics of their opponent: Emma breaking out a Superkick, while Trish worked much the same leg submission as Emma often does. But Emma would prove the better submission artist tonight, picking up a big win. Wild and Wilde Inc. continue to prove that they could be headed for the top... a dangerous duo that handled the young Asha and Maria without much trouble, in the end, despite Maria's technical ability. Heather landed a sharp Double-arm DDT, and picked up another important victory. Melody really held out better than anyone might've anticipated... but against the vicious legwork and brutal submission game that Virginia brings to the table, it was only a matter of time before she had Melody tapping out to a kneebar, giving Virginia another impressive win. Jessica Kimblee looked strong here, taking down a top contender in Peregrine as she delivered a brutal kick to set herself on a course towards the Academy Championship... it may only be a matter of time before the Top Dog reaches the Top Spot. White Hot just keeps getting better month after month. This win might be one of the best they've had... against some seriously tough competition, Rei Hasegawa rose to the occasion and scored one of the most decisive victories of her young career, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind who came out on top. Diosa Syringa once again came out to prove she's the best in the Academy, and she might not have anyone who could argue the point. She took it to Fiona here, and never hesitated for a second, snapping her up in a rolling cradle pin and finishing off the disoriented Fiona. Rhiannon Banes was in control for most of this, but simply couldn't put Tara away... much to her frustration. Tara just kept coming back... fighting her way out of pins, refusing to stay down. But finally, Rhiannon landed a Superman Punch, and managed to keep Tara down for the victory. Kasey Ryder is nothing if not resourceful and resilient. Nana Yoon threw everything she had at Kasey, including her Tombstone Piledriver... but Kasey kicked out, fought back with a huge diving stomp, and picked up the win... and the Academy Championship. The Yoshida Twins would simply not be denied in their first title defense. They've made their case as the Academy's best team, and now, they may have proven it beyond the shadow of a doubt... but they may have the toughest test of their careers next month, as they take on the duo of Nana Yoon and Baby Peregrine.
