Tonight's WrestleQuest was the definition of an epic show. 13 matches, just over 3 hours in total length, 9 x 100% ratings with some truly stellar performances. I honestly think Senator is right on the money, tonight may have indeed been the best ZIP JAPAN show of all time. Thanks very much to everyone who came out and especially those who stuck around until the bitter end lol. If you missed out on the show, you can currently see the VOD archived here: www.twitch.tv/videos/413611342Let's get straight to the results: ZIP JAPAN WrestleQuest (Friday Apr 19, 2019 at 8pm) - Minoru Hoshino vs Super Scorpio A fun little opening match. Scorpio hit a nice dive to the floor to soften up Hoshino, and ultimately finished him off with a Tiger Driver/Moonsault Stomp combo. 6-Woman elimination match - Hanako Yoshii vs Eun-jin Choi vs Rebecca Roxx vs Aya Mizuno vs Suki ZIP vs Psycho Witch Thus began the insanity. Hanako Yoshii seemed like she was on a mission tonight after failing to capture the #1 contenders spot against Momoe Ito on the Road to WrestleQuest. She set out to steal the show and she couldn't have performed any better, taking out all five of her opponents in this chaotic Battle Royal. Lady Armbreaker armbarred the hell out of everyone, only Roxx managed to avoid submitting to Yoshii, but she still got pinned by her. Definitely an early shout for MOTN. - Thunder Fist vs Demon Otsu This resembled a war more than a wrestling match. These two behemoths battered the hell out of each other for over 30 minutes. Fist survived getting Devil Dropped on the arena floor TWICE, and Otsu somehow kicked out of two KTFO punches. Just a ridiculous amount of no selling huge moves here...this came down to toughness and conditioning, and eventually exhaustion got the better of Otsu. Thunder Fist knocked him down with a big elbow shot, and Otsu could not muster a kick out. This was brutal, another potential MOTN performance. Triple Threat elimination match - Tetsuo K vs Tora Katsu vs Ichiro Katagiri A very good triple threat match that saw Katagiri doing his usual thing of breaking up pins at every opportunity. After some fast and furious action, Tora Katsu hit Katagiri with a snug Tiger suplex and Tetsuo K was smart enough to let the pin happen. Tetsuo followed up shortly after with a big Fire Star Splash on Katsu to pick up a solid victory. - Cutie Booties vs Yumi Yamaguchi Fantastic back and forth stuff from the Joshi here. Cutie came out like a house of fire, and Yumi got her shine on down the stretch before Cutie cut her down (as promised) with the Cutie Kick. Cutie Booties has finally shaken off the ignominy of those CRIT losses to Yumi last year. 5-Man elimination match - Maki Yoshida vs Jin Matsuda vs Asano Kaneshiro vs Takeshi Kiriyama vs Mad Bomber Just like at last year's WrestleQuest, the "get everyone on the card" Battle Royal actually produced a fantastic match with some fun twists and turns. Maki Yoshida was busted open by a punch to the face from Kaneshiro after a minute or so. Mad Bomber struggled to get out of the gate and was first to fall to a big German Suplex from Kiriyama, who then immediately eliminated his own partner Asano Kaneshiro with another German! Kiriyama continued to look good against both members of Blue Destiny...until Jin Matsuda tossed his own partner out of the ring, and scored the pin on Kiriyama with a Made in Japan. A bloodied Yoshida then eliminated Matsuda with a nasty looking Blue Crush in the center of the ring. Very entertaining stuff. - Darkness HAGE vs Saburo Hamada Poor Saburo Hamada. He really, REALLY tried in there tonight, hitting HAGE with two huge Perfect Drivers early and scoring near falls left and right with diving elbows and reverse ranas. HAGE fired back with all his best offense, including a HAGE Firebomb, a big pair of FFFs and a Gotch piledriver, but Hamada somehow kicked out of everything at 2.999. Just when it seemed that Hamada was on the cusp of victory HAGE snatched it away with an Avalanche Rana into a Sharpshooter for the submission win. The shitty run continues for Hamada against his former teacher but this was an excellent match nonetheless. - Pure HEEL (Kenji Sawada/Kenzo Kobayashi) vs Nails N Grinds (Jimmy Nails/Mickey Grinds) The two best pure tag teams in ZIP JAPAN have wrestled each other many times, and it almost always produces a classic. This was no exception, both teams exhibiting excellent teamwork throughout and producing a ton of dramatic near falls. Jimmy Nails nearly had it won with a Figure 4 before a bloody Sawada made it to the ropes and smashed Nails with a Towerhacker while Kenzo was brawling with Grinds. Superb stuff. - Wataru Nakajima vs GORO This was really something special. Nakajima has a history of pulling out great performances when it doesn't matter and choking on the biggest stages, but tonight he pulled it all together in incredible fashion. GORO promised to break the Partiarch's neck in this match, and he certainly did his best, spiking Nakajima on his head more times than should be allowed. Both men were absolute warriors....there were so many ridiculous 2.9s in this match, I completely lost count of the number of times I was sure it was over. Nakajima ultimately caught GORO with the Nakajima Special dead center of the ring to win what was certainly the MOTN, and a match that ranks up there with some of the most insane matches in the history of ZIP JAPAN. If you only see one match from WrestleQuest, see this one. Holy shit. ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship match - Doogan Bros (Donnie Doogan/Dougie Doogan) vs Team Fighting Spirit (Akira Shinjo/Daisuke Shimura) (C) Another superb tag team match, and another fantastic defense for Team Fighting Spirit. By now, I think they've beaten just about everyone in the Division. This was a bruising affair, 4 big hosses just murdering each other for 45 minutes, with tons of near falls. The champs spent most of the match fighting in the Doogan's half of the ring, but it ultimately didn't matter when Shimura locked in his Sasori-gatame on Donnie Doogan. Donnie instantly tapped, giving his brother Dougie zero chance to make the save. Who can possibly take the tag belts off of TFS at this point? ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship match - Momoe Ito vs Vicki Violence (C) MomoeMania runnin' wild. After demolishing Hanako Yoshii to earn this match, Momoe Ito continued to shine tonight against Joshi Champ Vicki Violence. Her highflying attack was in full force, smashing Vicki with back to back Double Lotations for nearfalls. The Champ tried to fight back with some King Kong knees and a Sliding V, but Momoe could not be denied tonight. She secured a victory with her patented Momoe Latch to become the new Joshi Champion, and celebrated with a Momoeroonie while the crowd went wild. 6-Man elimination match from the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - ECKO vs Satoshi Iguchi vs Shuji Tsukamoto vs Johnny Rekless vs Danger Daniels vs Yutaro Ichikawa (C) This match got off to a rip-roaring start, and Johnny Rekless was eliminated early after getting CRIT'd by an Ichikawa Cannonball. Ichikawa himself was out next after being Tombstoned by ECKO, ensuring we'd see a new Champion crowned in this match. Satoshi Iguchi showed real fortitude, kicking out of two ECKO Tombstones, before ECKO caught Danger Daniels in an STF for another elimination. Three way action between the heels lasted a while until Tsukamoto eliminated ECKO with a Hurricane Driver. Finally, Satoshi Iguchi caught Tsukamoto with a Diving Cutter to win the match and become the new ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champion! A very satisfying semi-main event. ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match - Justin Starr vs Mr Suplex (C) It was going to be very difficult for this match to live up to the hype and follow the stellar matches that had come before it, but Starr and Suplex were really going for it while it lasted. Starr started things off methodical, until he got dumped to the outside and Suplex hit him with Three Amigos on the floor. Then pacing went out the window and both men were getting 2.9s inside of 10 minutes. Suplex was suplexing left and right, Starr was diving like a maniac. The action tumbled to the arena floor for a second time, and Mr Suplex demolished Justin Starr with a Raigaplex on the concrete that knocked him out cold. The match was immediately stopped, and Mr Suplex remained at ringside while EMTs attended to Starr. Technically a double countout draw, Mr Suplex retains his title. The good news is that Starr regained consciousness shortly after, and gave a thumbs up to the fans in the arena as he was stretchered out. Hopefully he won't have picked up a serious injury. All in all, I'm really happy with how stuff turned out at this show. With the exception of maybe one match (the opener), every match delivered something special, and the consistency of the ratings was a pleasant surprise. Thanks again to everyone who has given their support for ZIP JAPAN, I love doing it and it means a lot to me that people are actually invested in my pretend wrasslers. The next ZIP JAPAN show will take place on Friday May 3. Also, Reiko ZIP has called a Press Conference for tomorrow, so stay tuned to ZIP JAPAN!

ZIP JAPAN Press Conference! *camera fades in on a large press conference with many fans and reporters in attendance. Reiko ZIP and White Trash are standing behind a podium on a raised stage, looking out over the assembled crowd. Reiko steps up to the microphone as the background noise in the hall falls silent*
Reiko ZIP: (she bows slightly and smiles) <Welcome everyone! First off, I'd like to thank each and every one of you who attended our very successful WrestleQuest show last night! It was a fantastic event that featured both great action and drama, and lived up to the hype! Congratulations are in order for all the wrestlers who won their matches, but special mention must be made of Justin Starr and Mr Suplex whose main event match was spectacular until it was cut short by an injury to Starr, resulting in a draw. Starr's rise to the top of the Heavyweight Division has been meteoric, and surviving this match with his Title intact was a significant achievement for Mr Suplex. Add in his victories over both Thunder Fist and Wataru Nakajima, and Mr Suplex looks like a champion who will prove very difficult to defeat! I'm also very happy to confirm that Justin Starr did not suffer any serious injury. While that Raigaplex knocked him temporarily unconscious, doctors have assured me that he will not miss any in ring action.>
*there is a small burst of applause that ripples through the crowd*
Reiko: <That brings us to today's announcement! As stated at our last press conference, ZIP JAPAN is pleased to be welcoming two new members into its ranks. Both men will be making their debuts on May 3rd at the ZIP JAPAN Revenge show! Here to introduce our first new roster member is ZIP JAPAN Official White Trash!>
*more applause as Reiko steps aside and Trash takes his spot at the podium*
White Trash: <First up is a man from the great white North of Canada. After many years working as a commercial fisherman, he established a name for himself competing in a series of local toughman contests, racking up several impressive victories. He got involved in pro wrestling while attending an independent show, jumping the barricade during a battle royal match and beating up everyone in the ring, which gained him considerable notoriety. After spending the last couple of years working periodic bookings throughout North America, he's finally agreed to commit to wrestling a full time schedule, and I'm very pleased to say that he has decided to sign his first professional contract with ZIP JAPAN! Please join me in welcoming Newfie George!>
*Trash leads in the applause as Newfie George emerges from behind a curtain. He's a tubby, balding grey haired man sporting a huge beard, dressed in work boots, jeans and a wifebeater shirt. He's clearly in his late 40s or early 50's, and as he approaches the podium, the enthusiastic noise from the crowd dissipates into almost nothing*
Newfie George: (his voice booming) Lard t'underin Jaysis b'ys, what's a fella gotta do ta get a drink 'round 'ere?
Trash: (switching to English) George, why don't you tell all these folks why you're here?
Newfie George: (confused) Well, yeh bloody well told me ta be 'ere, didn'cha?
Trash: No, not at the press conference...I meant why you're here in ZIP JAPAN.
Newfie George: Ah, gotcha. (to the crowd) Here's the t'ing: I likes ta fight, and I heared from my man Trash 'ere that ye've got plenty of little fellas 'ere who likes the same. So get ready ZIP JAPAN, 'cuz yer all gonna Kiss the Cod, and I'se the b'y ta do the screechin' in!
*George bellows with laughter, showing a mouth full of rotten teeth. Trash switches back to Japanese and re-takes the podium*
Trash: <Ah, OK, does anyone have any questions for George?>
*there is dead silence in the stunned crowd. After an uncomfortably long moment passes, one journalist meekly raises his hand and stands up*
Reporter #1: <Um, isn't this guy a little old to be starting a full time career in pro wrestling?>
Trash: <Do you want me to translate for George to answer, or are you asking me?>
Reporter #1: <You can answer, please.>
*George clearly has no idea what is going on, his attention wandering around the stage*
Trash: <Trust me, once you've seen this man in action, you'll be convinced. He might be a little older than the average roster member, but ZIP JAPAN is no stranger to competitors in their golden years. Crusher Kodo wrestled well into his 50's, and Wataru Nakajima gave the performance of his life last night. Age means nothing. Give George a chance, and he'll dismiss all your concerns.>
*the reporter seems unconvinced, but sits down without asking any follow up questions. Trash stands aside and Reiko steps up to the podium again, looking to move things along*
Reiko: <Our second new roster member is a man who will need no introduction for most of you. He has spent the last decade working for many independent promotions in Japan, and has been a Heavyweight Champion almost everywhere he has gone. His Kamikaze Diving Headbutt and devastating Crash and Burn finisher have been feared throughout the lands, and now he's bringing his unique brand of violence to ZIP JAPAN! Please welcome the Killer Kamikaze himself, Touma Tanaka!>
*there is a moment of silence before Tanaka bursts from behind the curtain. He has a shaggy mop of hair and a pointed goatee, and is wearing a dark maroon tuxedo and waving mockingly to the crowd. The press conference erupts in a chorus of boos, and Tanaka soaks it up with a cocky grin*
Tanaka: <Yeah, that's right, bitches! You know me, you hate me, but you can't get away from me! I've been terrorizing the smaller promotions in Japan for years, and now I'm taking a step up in class! I'm staring down my sights at ZIP JAPAN, and I can guarantee you that right now everyone in the locker room is shitting their collective pants! The divine winds are blowing through and I'm about to unleash a firestorm of destruction! Mr Suplex, you've officially been put on notice, I'm here and I'm coming for your title!>
Reiko: <Are there any questions for Touma?>
*the boos in audience die down slightly, and a reporter stands to address Reiko*
Reporter #2: <Reiko, you're not going to give this clown a title match, are you?>
Reiko: <Well, of course Tanaka-san will have to earn any Championship opportunities, just like everyone els->
*Tanaka interjects himself by grabbing the mic from Reiko*
Tanaka: <Yeah yeah, I gotta earn it. Trust me, I've seen the ZIP JAPAN roster, and it won't take me long to blast through these pretenders. I'll be #1 contender before you know it, and the Heavyweight Championship will be mine!>
Reporter #3: <Who will Tanaka's first opponent be? Will it be this Newfie person?>
Reiko: <No, both Newfie George and Tanaka will be debuting against established ZIP JAPAN stars. The full card for ZIP JAPAN Revenge will be announced tomorr->
*Tanaka grabs the mic again*
Tanaka: (pointing at Newfie George and laughing) <This guy? I don't know where they dug up this geezer from, but he wouldn't last ten seconds with me in the ring! Hey old man, what's your story? You some kind of farmer or something?>
George: (perking up) Eh? Are yeh talkin' ta me, fella?
*White Trash deftly pulls Reiko aside as Newfie George launches himself across the stage and tackles an unprepared Tanaka. They tumble to the floor and Newfie George quickly rains several savage punches down on Tanaka's face. The assembled press begin to cheer and Trash tries to interject and break up the fight. George relents his attacks and the cheers grow even louder as Tanaka gets to his feet to reveal he has a cut above his left eye and blood streaming down his face. Trash and Reiko hold a fuming Tanaka back as Newfie George raises his hands and basks in the cheers. The camera fades to black on the chaotic scene*

ZIP JAPAN Announcement! *camera fades in on Reiko ZIP, seated at her desk in her office. She faces the camera with a cheerful smile*
Reiko: <Hello, everyone! It's been a very successful weekend for ZIP JAPAN. The WrestleQuest show was a wonderful, well received event, and yesterday's press conference, while chaotic, did a good job of introducing ZIP JAPAN's new roster members to our audience. With that business taken care of, I'm coming to you today to announce the card for the upcoming ZIP JAPAN Revenge show!>
*the screen splits in two, with Reiko on the right side, and a graphic depicting the event card on the left*
Reiko: <Opening the show will be a Joshi Division match, pitting the Korean Dream Eun-jin Choi against my sister, Suki ZIP! The next match will be the official ZIP JAPAN debut of Newfie George, as he steps into the ring with the always-dangerous Demon Otsu! Following that, the Juniors will take the spotlight as Danger Daniels goes one on one against the Knees of Death, Ichiro Katagiri! Tag Team action will be up next, as the Doogan Bros look to put their WrestleQuest loss behind them by challenging the Storm of the Century! Then we have another ZIP JAPAN debut match, with the newly signed Killer Kamikaze, Touma Tanaka taking on Mickey Grinds!>
Reiko: <The ZIP JAPAN tape archives return to the show with a Fatal Four Way Juniors elimination match from 2004, which sees our new Junior Heavyweight Champ Satoshi Iguchi in action against Yoji Shinichi, ECKO, and ZIP JAPAN legend White Trash! Former Joshi Champion Vicki Violence will take on Pure Spirit Yumi Yamaguchi! To determine the #1 contenders to Team Fighting Spirit's Tag Team Championships, Blue Destiny challenge Pure HEEL! And to determine the #1 contender for Iguchi's Junior Championship, Darkness HAGE will go one on one against Tetsuo K, with both men coming off of impressive victories!>
Reiko: <And finally, our big double main event will see two Championships defended. Following their stellar showings at WrestleQuest, I feel that both Cutie Booties and Hanako Yoshii are deserving of a title opportunity...so new Joshi Champion Momoe Ito will defend her title against both women in a triple threat elimination match! And last but certainly not least: as stated during yesterday's press conference, Justin Starr did not suffer any serious injury during his match with Mr Suplex at WrestleQuest. In the spirit of a true Champion, Mr Suplex spoke to me last night and asked to defend his ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship in another match against Justin Starr, and I can confirm that Justin Starr has accepted the offer. Starr vs Suplex II should be fantastic, and hopefully we will have a true resolution to this conflict.>
Reiko: <ZIP JAPAN Revenge will take place on Friday May 3rd at 8pm EST, I hope to see you all there!>
*Reiko bows and the camera fades to black*

ZIP JAPAN Revenge is in the books and what a historic night it was. This was the rare ZIP JAPAN show that actually got better as it went along (instead of the usual starting like a house on fire and then shitting the bed in the main event :P), building up nicely towards a pretty epic Title match. Thanks to everyone who came out and watched along with me. If you missed any or all of the show, it is currently archived here: www.twitch.tv/videos/419995138Let's get to the results: ZIP JAPAN Revenge (Friday May 3, 2019) - Eun-jin Choi vs Suki ZIP Ridiculously hot opener. Suki and Choi went hard at each other the whole way, delivering some fantastic thrills especially down the stretch. Suki hit a back to back to back moonsault Stomp and followed up with a ZIP Driver for a 2.9, and Choi fired back with a Gory Bomb for a near fall of her own. Eventually Suki hit the triple moonsault stomp again, only for Choi to respond with a Seoul Breaker for the win. Excellent stuff out of the gates. - Newfie George vs Demon Otsu Newfie George may have arrived in ZIP JAPAN with a slightly new look, but his ass kicking Modus operandi is still in effect. Digital Dave always shits on George's matches because at heart he's a pretty basic brawler, but he did his share of diving from the turnbuckles tonight. He did a great job keeping Otsu at a distance before smashing the Demonic One with his Kiss the Cod Running Lariat to pick up a big victory in his debut match. - Danger Daniels vs Ichiro Katagiri A very competitive, fast paced and physical Juniors match. Both guys had plenty of opportunity to show off their skill sets, but just as Daniels was turning up the heat on his opponent, Katagiri reminded everyone that he can turn the momentum of a match on its head in an instant. One German Suplex outta nowhere and this was over. - Storm of the Century (Thunder Fist/Wataru Nakajima) vs Doogan Bros (Donnie Doogan/Dougie Doogan) After spending the last couple of months mostly wrestling singles matches, it was fun to see Storm of the Century reunited again as a team. Sadly, they did their usual thing of kicking a ton of ass and then losing in the end lol. Fist got caught in a Doogan Doubleteam lariat right as Tomi was chasing Nakajima out of the ring. Nakajima couldn't save in time and the Doogan Bros get an impressive win. - Touma Tanaka vs Mickey Grinds Mickey Grinds was the first member of the ZIP JAPAN roster to step up to Tanaka, and he got bloodied early for his efforts. Both men performed very well, and Grinds made up for botching an early dive by hitting a perfect crossbody to the arena floor late in the match. Tanaka showed off his resiliency, kicking out of a a pair of huge Flowsions from Mickey. Tanaka laid Grinds out with a series of chops before putting him away with his patented Kamikaze Diving Headbutt. We didn't get to see the Crash and Burn from Tanaka tonight, but it was a solid victory for the debuting star. Archive Fatal Four way elimination match from 2004 - Satoshi Iguchi vs Yoji Shinichi vs ECKO vs White Trash Chaotic and fun action in tonight's archive match. A very young and green White Trash was eliminated fairly early by a Shinichi Moonsault, making this as a triple threat for most of its time. Eventually Shinichi hit a bloody ECKO with his superkick and eliminated him, leaving the veteran against Iguchi. Iguchi showed some fire and connected with a series of Cutters, but Shinichi reversed an avalanche Cutter attempt and used it to set up his Michinoku Driver to complete the clean sweep. There's a reason Shinichi is considered a ZIP JAPAN legend. - Yumi Yamaguchi vs Vicki Violence Yumi Yamaguchi grew up as a fan of Gorobei, and she exhibited a slice of his incredible fighting spirit tonight. Vicki threw absolutely everything at Yumi, who ate it up and came back for more every time. Package Piledriver? No problem. Avalanche Urunage -> Sliding V? Kickout. Spear -> King Kong knees combo? Another kickout. Getting dropped on her head on a chair on the floor? Yumi fires back with an Angelic Driver on the concrete. She was on fire and totally unstoppable, so when Yumi finally hit a massive Avalanche Dragon Suplex on Vicki, no one was surprised when it ended the match. MOTN so far. To determine #1 contender for the ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship - Blue Destiny (Maki Yoshida/Jin Matsuda) vs Pure HEEL (Kenji Sawda/Kenzo Kobayashi) Super tag team action. Pure HEEL are possibly the most well oiled tag team in the history of ZIP JAPAN, and Blue Destiny pushed them hard throughout this rough encounter. Both teams worked very hard, and everyone scored a nearfall or two with their signature offense, but eventually this one came down to the doubleteam moves. Blue Destiny hit the Blue Trigger more than once, but Pure HEEL picked the exact perfect moment and ring position to catch Jin Matsuda with their version of the 3D to secure the #1 contendership. Pure HEEL vs Team Fighting Spirit will be epic stuff, I think Pure HEEL might be the only team in ZIP JAPAN capable of taking the belts away from TFS. To determine #1 contender for the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - Darkness HAGE vs Tetsuo K Super stuff from the Juniors here, both men trying to kick a hole through each other from the opening bell. HAGE busted out his biggest guns here, including the avalanche 'rana to the floor and the devastating HAGE Firebomb, but Tetsuo kept kicking out and giving it all back and more. In the end Tetsuo caught HAGE off guard with a skull shaking Rewind Kick to become #1 contender! Satoshi Iguchi will defend the Junior Championship against Tetsuo K at the next show. Triple Threat elimination match for the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship - Cutie Booties vs Hanako Yoshii vs Momoe Ito (C) Incredible stuff in the Joshi Title match, all three women leaving everything in the ring here. The match was fast paced and action packed, but someone had to be eliminated first. Eventually that proved to be Cutie Booties, who was KO'd by a monster Double Lotation from Momoe after more than 25 minutes of war. Momoe's speed was the deciding factor in the final fall, as she reacted quickly to counter Yoshii's attempt at an avalanche armbar into a tightly cinched rollup from the top rope. Momoe Ito retains the Joshi championship in a stellar match. Between this, Yumi's big win and the hot opening match, the Women of ZIP JAPAN proved themselves the VIPs of the night. ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match - Justin Starr vs Mr Suplex (C) This one was months in the making, a moment that was career defining for Justin Starr and historic for ZIP JAPAN. Starr's years-long dominance in the Juniors division finally translated into an opportunity to rise through the ranks of the Heavyweights, and challenge for the biggest prize. Starr has fulfilled his destiny, become the first ever Junior Heavyweight to hold the Heavyweight title, and cemented his spot as a ZIP legend with tonight's match. After the disappointment of his injury during the main event of WrestleQuest, Starr proved to his doubters that he could compete with the very best in the world and win. This was MOTN, a wonderfully tense and technical affair, and featured a finish that is bound to be replayed and discussed for years among ZIP JAPAN fans and historians. After getting Half Nelsoned out of his boots, Starr nailed an impressive Sky Twister Press for a 2.9 count...Mr Suplex responded with a Genki Raigaplex that might have ended it but Starr managed to hook his toe into the ropes for the break, and immediately locked Suplex into an Anaconda Vice for the victory. Superb. What a rollercoaster. Thanks again to everyone who came out to the stream, I hope you'll come back for the next one in two weeks time which will feature Tetsuo K vs Satoshi Iguchi for the Junior Title, and Pure HEEL challenging Team Fighting Spirit for the Tag Belts. I'll have a full card posted for that one probably tomorrow. Also, I should have updates for Newfie George and and an upload of Touma Tanaka up on the Workshop at some point tomorrow too, I'll post in this thread once they are available.

Sounds like an incredible show! 👏 Congratulations to Newfie George (perhaps my favorite newer ZIP Japan roster member) and Justin Starr who I've followed since the early FPR days. I think he even had some UBL matches too!
Awesome story that you told here with his rise to Heavyweight Champion!

ZIP JAPAN Promo Roundup! *camera fades in on Touma Tanaka standing in front of a ZIP JAPAN banner, his arms folded across his chest. He looks grumpy.*
Tanaka: <Well...I had my heart set on smashing my way through the ZIP JAPAN roster and challenging Mr Suplex for the Heavyweight Championship, but little Justin Starr went and spoiled those plans, didn't he? Starr, listen to me and listen good. You're a jumped up punk who didn't deserve to be in that match in the first place, but don't worry...the Killer Kamikaze is here now to bring you crashing back to earth. Mickey Grinds was the first casualty of my campaign of destruction, and Thunder Fist is next apparently. But rest assured Starr, my number one focus is the Championship, so enjoy it whie you have it, and pray you lose it before I become #1 contender....because I've seen what you've got kid, and frankly, I ain't impressed.>
*Tanaka shifts his weight and strokes his goatee as he gathers his thoughts for a moment*
Tanaka: <Speaking of not being impressed, how terrible is Thunder Fist? For a guy who's supposed to be this big, bad monster, he sure gets his ass handed to him a lot. I mean the guy teams with a wrinkled geezer and gets pinned by those Doogan lunkheads? Sure, he beat Demon Otsu at WrestleQuest, but so what? Demon Otsu lost to that old fart Newfie George, so we know he sucks. Thunder Fist, you're a one trick pony who's been found out...so next Friday you bring those huge hands and forearms to the ring, and I'll bring my immeasurable talent and vast technical prowess, and we'll see just how far "punching hard" will get you. Spoiler alert: not very far.>
*Touma sneers at the camera as a ZIP JAPAN logo swooshes across the screen to reveal Yumi Yamaguchi and Eun-jin Choi standing facing each other. They seem to have been joined mid-conversation and they mostly ignore the camera and talk to each other.*
Choi: <...can't fight you!>
Yumi: <I know, it's tough. I don't really want to fight you, either Eun-jin, but we have to! It's for a shot at the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship!>
Choi: <Hmm, yes...but you're my best friend Yumi-chan! You're the only one in the Joshi locker room who's shown me any kind of support. What if I defeat you? I'll feel terrible!>
Yumi: (sighs) <Listen. Forget the locker room. The fans have been very supportive of both of us since the Joshi Division was formed. They deserve to see us square off with something real on the line!>
Choi: (sulking) <Ah yes, the fans. The fans love you. I'm just filling a spot on the roster.>
*Yumi grabs the front of Choi's shirt with her left hand and points her right index finger into Choi's face*
Yumi: <That's enough of that! You put on a wrestling clinic against Suki ZIP last week, and you've defeated some of the most talented women in ZIP JAPAN! I won't listen to you belittle your own accomplishments! At this moment in time, you and I are the two brightest stars in the Joshi Division....we owe it to the fans and we owe it to ourselves to go out there and tear the house down! The show is called ZIP JAPAN Spirit of Wrestling and the two of us embody that spirit more than anyone else...so let's go for it! Let's hold nothing back and have a classic match that people remember for years to come...and the winner will get a chance to wrestle Momoe Ito for the Joshi Championship!>
Choi: (brightening up) <No hard feelings then, win or lose?>
Yumi: <Of course not.>
*Yumi sticks out her hand and Choi grips it firmly and they shake. After a moment Yumi smiles and pulls Choi into a hug as both women laugh. A ZIP JAPAN logo swoosh transitions to Pure HEEL. Kenji Sawada is staring intensely down the camera lens and tweaking the edges of his mustache as Kenzo Kobayshi lurks in the background, his hands on his hips*
Sawada: <ZIP JAPAN....Spirit of Wrestling? (he spits on the floor) Who comes up with this garbage?>
Kobayashi: (emphatically) <Garbage.>
Sawada: <I guess it's our boss, good ol' Reiko ZIP, trying to telegraph her desires again. Look Reiko, we know you don't like us and would prefer it if Team Fighting Spirit retain the Tag Team Championship, but guess what? We don't care!>
Kobayashi: <Don't care.>
Sawada: <The two of us are the certainly best tag team in ZIP JAPAN, and possibly the best tag team in the world. We've got the tournament wins and championship runs to prove it. What do those TFS chumps have? One reign? Big deal. Next Friday, Pure HEEL are going to do what we do best...we are going to ruin Shinjo and Shimura's day and take their titles. Look, Akira Shinjo and Daisuke Shimura are great wrestlers. They're both tough guys and former Heavyweight Champs to boot, but they can't hope to match Pure HEEL in a two on two situation...we are a well oiled machine.>
Kobayashi: <Machine.>
Sawada: <Shinjo and Shimura...you guys team up once in a while, but we have spent many long years almost exclusively in the Tag Team Division, honing our skills and teamwork....and frankly, that fact that you two have hogged those title belts for so long makes us more than a little pissed off.>
Kobayashi: <Pissed off.>
Sawada: <Fighting Spirit or no, you two guys have officially overstayed your welcome in OUR Tag Team Division. You never deserved those belts, and if we have anything to say about it, you won't be holding them much longer. Next Friday, Pure HEEL are gonna beat you both bloody, and send you packing back to singles competition for good!>
Kobayashi: <Hehe. Good.>

PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP! *camera fades in on Tomi ZIP in semi-close up, smiling in front of a ZIP JAPAN banner.*
Tomi: <Hello, ZIP JAPAN fans! I'm very pleased today to be joined by the man who dethroned Mr Suplex to become our new ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion! Of course, I'm speaking about Justin Starr!>
*the camera pulls back slightly to reveal Starr standing next to Tomi. He is wearing a dark blue suit and his mask, with the Heavyweight Championship belt draped over his right shoulder*
Tomi: (bowing) <Welcome, Justin! Thanks for taking the time to speak to me today!>
Starr: (Starr speaks in his American-accented but fluent Japanese, his wide grin visible through his mask. He playfully ruffles Tomi's hair as she giggles) <Hi Tomi-chan, it's my pleasure.>
Tomi: <You've had a very long career in ZIP JAPAN, debuting back in 2005 and your dominance over the Junior Heavyweight Division has been well documented. However, your rise through the Heavyweight ranks has been equally as impressive, and now you stand at the top of the mountain as the first ever Junior Heavyweight to hold the Heavyweight Championship! Congratulations!>
Starr: (he bows slightly to Tomi) <Thank you very much. It's been a long road for me. I've been competing in ZIP JAPAN for nearly 14 years, and my combined title reigns in the Junior Division have added up to nearly 8 years. Frankly, I was looking for a new challenge, and one thing that has always kinda bugged me about ZIP JAPAN is how rarely the Junior stars get a chance to prove themselves against the Heavyweights. GORO was once a Junior Heavyweight, but he bulked up considerably before eventually finding admirable success in the Heavyweight Division. Other than that, the only Junior guy who ever really got a shot in the Heavyweight Division was White Trash. I remember his great run to a Title match against Daisuke Shimura back in 2011 and was really disappointed for him when he came up just short in the end. I knew I would be able to compete at that level, and when I asked Reiko to let me start wrestling Heavyweights, I was thrilled when she agreed.>
Tomi: <I think everyone who watches ZIP JAPAN is glad she did! Can you take us through your match with Mr Suplex at ZIP JAPAN Revenge?>
Starr: <Sure. First off, I was very fortunate even to be in that match. Mr Suplex is a hell of a wrestler, and when we met at WrestleQuest, he was the better man, no question. But the way that match ended with me being knocked unconscious at ringside left a little to be desired. Reiko wanted a more decisive finish between myself and Suplex, and thankfully I wasn't seriously hurt, leaving an opening for a rematch at Revenge. It was right up there with my best ever performances, even though I was thrown around like a ragdoll I managed to keep a cool head late into the match. Mr Suplex kicking out of my Sky Twister was shocking, and when he immediately followed up with a Raigaplex, I knew I was in trouble. Luckily I was close enough to the ropes to reach out for a break and in that instant I reacted just a little faster than Suplex and caught him with an Anaconda Vice. The sound of his hand hitting the mat to submit was the sweetest sound I've heard in my whole career.>
Tomi: <It really was something special. How did you celebrate your historic win?>
Starr: <Well of course, most of the guys in the locker room were very happy for me and congratulated me, including Mr Suplex, which meant a lot to me. White Trash has been one of my best friends during my time in Japan, so afterwards the two of us, plus Reiko and a couple of the other guys from the Junior Division went out on the town. Lots of sake, lots of dancing around like idiots, big hangover the next day (he laughs).>
Tomi: <Tomorrow night is ZIP JAPAN Spirit of Wrestling, and you have the night off. Instead, you'll be featured in our Archive match in a triple threat against Ichiro Katagiri and Great HAGE from 2007.>
Starr: <Yup, I guess being the Champ has it's advantages (he laughs again)! Honestly, there's no place I'd rather be than in the ring, competing in front of my fans, but I'll take a week on the sidelines to fully recuperate and enjoy the archive match. I've had so many matches over the years it's hard to remember the details of all of them, but if my memory serves me correctly, that match from 2007 was a great one, even though I was still pretty green at that point.>
Tomi: <One final question for you Justin. Wataru Nakajima, Maki Yoshida and Newfie George will wrestle in an elimination match tomorrow night to determine your opponent for your first title defense. Do you have any thoughts on this match, or on who you would rather face?>
Starr: <Well of course Nakajima-san is a legend. His career speaks for itself and his recent match against GORO was one of the best I've seen from him in years. It would be an honor and a privilege for me to face a man of his stature. The same goes for Yoshida-san, another tough and seasoned veteran who has never been far from the Heavyweight Title picture in the last couple of years. Newfie George is a bit of a question mark, as I've only seen him wrestle once before. He seems to be pretty strong, but honestly, I'll be very surprised if he manages to defeat both Yoshida and Nakajima.>
Tomi: <I see. Thank you very much for your comments.>
*Tomi bows to Starr and turns to face the camera again*
Tomi: <Tomorrow night, ZIP JAPAN proudly presents Spirit of Wrestling at 8pm EST! Tetsuo K challenges Satoshi Iguchi for the Junior Heavyweight Championship, and Team Fighting Spirit will be defending the Tag Team Championships against Pure HEEL in the main event! Until next time, this is Tomi ZIP, signing off!>
*Tomi flashes a peace sign and the camera fades to black*
