Here's the text from Reddit for the people that don't want to search it out.
The first half of Director Matsumoto’s appearance on yesterday’s Weekly Famitsu broadcast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQFIw6wWGVs) is him formally apologizing for the bugs and delays up to this point. His subsequent conversation with Taichi and the moderator is mostly a reiteration of what he said in his Weekly Famitsu interview, but there were a few new tidbits, so I translated the interesting parts.
Since Spike hasn’t had the necessary manpower to keep up with all the issues, Matsumoto has finally found a new development team to take over the project and fix Fire Pro in its entirety. This team was just handed the reins at the beginning of November, and is now working on the main game as well as the DLC. The new team is not happy with where Fire Promoter is at the moment, so the Fire Promoter DLC is delayed until January, but they expect to release the Jr Heavyweight DLC in February or March as planned.
Also, in response to several questions in chat about the planned “secret weapon” which Matsumoto mentioned right after the Early Access release last summer, it turns out that the team had intended to put out a creation tool for new moves and edit parts (“Our eventual goal with World is to give Fire Pro itself over to the fan base”). However, because of all the trouble plaguing the release, they haven’t been able to build a working version.
After putting Matsumoto on full blast in Weekly Famitsu, Taichi is pretty magnanimous, saying that there’s nothing for fans to do now but wait and have faith, and he wants to believe Matsumoto, since they share the same love for Fire Pro - after all, Matsumoto is the one who brought the game back to the fans after they had waited for 12 or 13 years. He’s still Taichi, though. Check out 18:20, when the moderator jokingly says “Well, if Fire Pro still isn’t fixed after all this, you’re going to have to fight him,” and Taichi smirks and replies “I won’t be able to restrain myself, I’ll beat his ass, I’m gonna get arrested” while an unsmiling Matsumoto grimaces and visibly starts sweating at the thought.
As the conversation goes on, Taichi becomes more supportive and encouraging, as Matsumoto tries not to burst into tears at Taichi’s goodness and graciousness. While this was happening, it was amazing to watch the flood of chat comments talking about how kind, straight-talking and genuinely cool Taichi was.

Taichi: I was pissed off about how you kept everyone in the dark, so I wrote those Tweets. Nothing gets solved if you just run away. You took a long time to come and do this, but I respect that you did. I figured that you were reluctant to have everyone talk shit about you, because I’ve seen the fan comments, but if you read the comments here, people have put their faith in you. The comments are much nicer than before.
I think that real Fire Pro fans will wait. People who still want to keep complaining, there’s something wrong with them. Matsumoto has turned over a new leaf, to come out and prostrate himself in apology like this. Well, just bowing your head isn’t that big of a deal, but it’s not right to keep on attacking the team. If you care enough about Fire Pro to attack them, then you should be rooting for them! They can make Fire Pro better that way. If you already paid your money, you’ll get what you paid for, so wait.
Moderator: (to Matsumoto) People are saying that they want incremental updates. If you can steadily make announcements like “We’ve fixed this,” and “We’ve improved this,” then people will keep playing. I hope that you can keep the Fire Pro scene active.
Taichi: Face the challenges head on. Don’t run away any more. I don’t know the truth behind the scenes, but this happened because the fans thought that you abandoned them.
Moderator: That’s true. People did think that, even if it wasn’t really the case. Well, we’ve heard the Director’s explanation.
Taichi: And hey, I understand the urge to run away, seeing how much people trashed you. But if you run away… then it’s over. I want you to keep working on Fire Pro carefully and precisely. ... also, the first thing you should do tomorrow is remake my move set! There’s all this shit I don’t do! Watch all my matches and make it 100% accurate. I don’t care about the rest of the roster. You owe me this.
