Are you making sure to check off the Mod Suite Save Data option in the patcher? Yes sir. At one point I had it checked off in the normal directory (which was otherwise modded) and checked on in the newly copied directory. Still nothing. I tried deleting my ModSuiteSaveData files in the normal directory but that didn't help. It never seems to read or write to the ModSuiteSaveData directory in the newly copied version of the Firepro Wrestling World folder. I tried deleting the dat files from the new directory; it never prompted me to create them or act like it was bothered by them being missing. I tried unmodding the normal directory completely. What I find maddening is when I do that, the game runs vanilla from BOTH directories. I can run the patcher from the newly copied version and everything is checked (including the Mod Suite Save Data option) but it literally runs the vanilla game and ignores everything else. How is that even possible? I'm clicking FireProWrestlingW.exe in the newly copied directory but it acts like I'm running my shortcut or exe file from the vanilla directory, no matter what I do to either folder. Here are my steps/assumptions - there are a few points I'm not completely clear on but don't know if they're causing any issue. a) Directory I'm copying - Fire Prowrestling World (not a Steam root directory or anything) b) Steam cloud should be off. Steam should be offline. c) Vanilla directory - should be patched or unpatched? If patched, should its "Use Mod Suite Save Data" box be checked or unchecked? I think I've tried it all ways now but might help to know what it should be. d) New directory - should be patched with Use Mod Suite Save Data checked e) launch modded version by clicking FireProWrestlingW.exe in new directory f) launch vanilla version from install directory or original shortcut g) Directories should not "sync" - if I make a change to an edit in the mod version, it should not make the same change to that edit in the vanilla directory (it currently does so).

a) Correct b) Doesn't matter until the DLC comes out, then it will need to be offline. c) Doesn't matter. d) Correct e) Correct f) Correct g) Correct
Have you tried it with no save present in the 2nd copy's ModSuiteData directory? If it doesn't pop up a message box, it's not patching properly for you for some reason.

Yes, but I don't get the pop up message box like you describe. Here's a picture just to confirm a couple of settings:

Ace had this problem too. We never figured it out.
Essentially some people are unable to run two copies of the game.

Last night I nuked Firepro as best I could. I uninstalled, removed files left in the install directory, and removed LocalLow/SpikeChunsoft. Probably missed something as next time I modded, it remembered my preferences, but got most of it.
Went online, redownloaded, verified the Spirit Punch was there.
Re-patched from scratch. Added the newest Carlzilla.dll mod but none of the rest of Carl's mods, Ace's mods, or View's mods. Checked the "use Mod Suite Data" box.
Ran the game and for the first time ever, got the "no save file, do you want to create one" pop up. Did so.
Copied my old save data file to the modsuite directory. So now install directory has 0 wrestlers (game data) or 344 wrestlers (mod data).
Experimented with checking and unchecking use "mod suite data". When checked, 344 wrestlers appeared. When not checked, I got a "no wrestlers found" when trying to load edits. Got super excited.
Copied the directory and ran from the new location and... back to square one. Still follows the game install set up - if it's checked, I get my wrestlers and if it's not, I don't, regardless of what is checked or not in the new directory or which save files I put where in it.
I have one other Hail Mary to try but don't expect it to work. I don't think the above post will spark some new insight for Carl/Ace but no harm in trying. But right now, I'm thinking my best bet is modding my install directory and putting a vanilla version on the wife's laptop so I can experience the story mode and get official stats for the NJPW wrestlers I would use (and hopefully be able to rip new textures and/or moves for transfer to my modded version).
Carl, thanks for trying to help and if you guys ever do figure it out, let me know. I'd probably run 4-5 directories if I could as I would separate by era and gender on top of vanilla/modded. Such a shame and completely mystifies me why my PC won't allow a second directory.

NEW MOD SUITE UPDATE This is mostly a bug fix update, making several private fields public for the mods that need them It also adds the ability to overwrite edits with the Edit Import/Export feature Download links on the Mod Suite Testing Ground Discord in the #release-version-download-links channel
