I'm not going to defend anyone here, but perhaps mods should look into making sure that we avoid character assassination of folks who can't defend themselves here. Please keep in mind that Spike was encouraging of the modding, was in contact with Carl often and even had a possible offer for him to come on board at one point. The narrative of "moders vs. Spike" is going to become overblown after this, I fear, if it hasn't already been. It probably wouldn't have come to this if there weren't a few people pushing that narrative. He's not putting words into their mouths. Carl expressed a desire for a swift death to the game while he was here so that he could do as he pleased with it. However... you are correct that we don't need to be attacking anyone who's not here to defend themselves. Then again, it's not like the man himself has any reservations about doing that. I personally have a different view on what his expressed desires were and how they were interpreted, but I've known Carl for a long time. Still, I've been around this community since the late 90's and have seen how people can get crucified for things and how these issues can fester. It would probably be best to leave it at this for now? He broke a forum rule and was removed. Period. Just my two cents. |

I’ll agree with you on one point - this drama’s totally unnecessary. Anything else is just speculation - I don’t know Spike well enough to comment on their development practices and I don’t know Carl well enough to comment on his personal life. EDIT: nor do I really WANT to.
What I think we can all agree on is that a solid community is the lifeblood of Fire Pro - as much as a Fire Pro game is the lifeblood of this community

If I saw that Kitamura online I would wonder who the hell made it and what they were smoking.

It sucks that Carl decided that he couldn't wait until Spike wrapped production on the game in a few months. It sucks that Carl decided that World was hot trash without his mods. It sucks that Carl burned himself out and decided to torch his relationship with Spike instead of just taking a break for awhile. It sucks that people in his modding discord are talking about pirating the game so they can stay on 1.20 and refunding the DLC. It sucks that there's another Fire Pro site and more unneccessary drama. Alot of things suck. What the staff chose to do in response to his behavior wasn't one of them. tl;dr - CARL SCREWED CARL 😂 |

This is all a shame to see. I bought multiple versions of the game for mods, I convinced people to buy the game with the mods, I know many more bought the game on their own because of the mods. It's awful to see anyone split the community, I think Carl might be one of the ones who has brought us together the most.
